Thanks, MrSpasybo for this summary. I assume that you have an account on Similarweb, considering that I do not have all this data through free use.I'm also just using a free account of SimilarWeb, and maybe because I use a VPN, I can access more data. I always thought that everyone could check my reports right on SimilarWeb.
Interestingly, July has drastically fewer visits, but approximately the same number of posts was maintained, even a slight increase in the number of members. I guess the signature campaign does its part

Both in altcoinstalks and in Bitcointalk Finland doesn’t have a local board, the thread that they have in Bitcointalk has long been dead with the last post being made in November 2022.I am surprised that Nigeria is not already on the list.
There is no chance that Finland is bringing most traffic to this forum with 34%, I never even heard of that much activity from that region in bitcointalk forum.I'm not entirely sure about this, but perhaps the VPN has made the geographical statistics less accurate. Anyway, this is the data we have from SimilarWeb for reference.
Maybe lot of people is just using IP address from Finland, but I also see total number of visits dropped a lot compared to previous month.
It would be good some alternative for SimilarWeb results.
Based on some previous screenshots, where the most traffic comes from, I saw that it is significantly different from what Similarweb shows me. It is quite unclear where these differences come from. There is no chance that Finland is bringing most traffic to this forum with 34%, I never even heard of that much activity from that region in bitcointalk forum.I'm not entirely sure about this, but perhaps the VPN has made the geographical statistics less accurate. It is quite unclear where these differences come from.I also hope that a member has a SimilarWeb premium account and can double-check the data in this report. I'll look into premium accounts, it would be great if a member would allow me to use their premium account to create monthly reports for AltcoinsTalks.
On some of the domains I manage, and where I have Google Analytics, there is quite a big difference in the results between GA and Similarweb.
One of the reasons why I asked if it was a premium account. Certainly, such differences in display make Similarweb quite irrelevant to any statistics.
It is a good sign that the number of posts remains more or less the same despite having a lower number of visits. In addition to confirming that the signature campaigns are working quite well, I think it also means that active users are posting good content at a fairly regular rate and that there isn't too much spam or meaningless messages to moderate.Yeah, the market is going through a tough time, although visits have decreased, the activity level of AltcoinsTalks is still high. I would be happier if we had more new topics so that all members can participate in discussions and share their views on the current state of the crypto market.
It is also normal to have less activity during the holiday months as we have seen in other years, although ironically this is when we have the most free time. We'll see how things go in September.
Thanks for the report @MrSpasybo.

Op I think you missed out Nigeria Board on the "Traffic by Country". Nigeria local board is one of the active board in the forum and he should be rated as 30+%. Yes Finland is doing well here and Russia Local Board in this forum is not like the other board. I have also made some personal analysis when I was looking through the active and inactive local boards in the forum. And I believed Nigeria is one of the top three Traffic Local Boards in the forum. Thanks for report and the analysis but you have include it.Maybe we have to know how the data is collected. If we get the idea, whether from IP login or whatsoever. But then, it could be that there's a difference between country traffic and activeness of local board. Clarification will do us good.
I am surprised that Nigeria is not already on the list.
Nigeria is one country that we should expect to be on this list soon as one of the countries generating massive traffic to this forum because there are a lot of Nigerians here in this forum, and I know that as time goes on, the number of Nigerians here will increase and the activity of those already present in the forum will improve.
No offense, but I wouldn't agree that any country generates "massive traffic" according to this forum, although I believe most of the traffic comes from Ukraine, Russia, Philippines, Indonesia, but Nigeria also has its share. It is just a discussion so there is no big deal. And from my research all the above mentioned countries, it is only Russia and Ukraine is ahead of Nigeria and Nigeria in turn, passed them in activeness. And as you said no local board is traffic in the forum but the small activities and activeness in those boards, there is small traffic in them. And as you also said, if Nigeria board has 30-40 active members then as it is in the forum, that is a good number. And I believed we are more than that figure. And the borne of contention here is that if report of the forum is given and local board analysis is given, Nigeria should be among because they are trying in the forum.
Can GA be used for showing statistics for AltcoinsTalks forum?A piece of code would have to be added to the SMF script to collect the data. Some privacy-oriented services avoid GA for this reason. I don't know what the case is with Altt.
I think they should have more precise numbers with less drastic changes every month.
A piece of code would have to be added to the SMF script to collect the data. Some privacy-oriented services avoid GA for this reason. I don't know what the case is with Altt.I am aware of Google Analytics, but I don't know how to use it for AltcoinsTalks monthly reports. It seems like only website owners can apply GA to their own websites. This means only out admin can get data from GA to provide to the AltcoinsTalks community.
GA is probably the most accurate tool for measuring visit statistics. For example, on one site I'm updating, GA saw 1500 visits, Cloudflare 9k (I assume that CF counts all bot accesses) and similarweb around 3500.
According to the results that the site achieves, it is most likely that the GA data is correct.
Google Analytics is the best tool in these cases, but when it is not implemented in the forum (with a few lines of code as you say) it is because when we talk about Google we talk about goodbye to privacy. If it were working on the forum I suppose the administrator would share the information or part of it about the monthly reports, but I highly doubt it is installed.I don't fully understand the privacy implications of applying GA to a website. If it affects the forum, I think we should be cautious and consider using other tools. Many AltcoinsTalks members value privacy and don't want their forum usage data accessed by a powerful tool like GA.
The less information Google (and other large companies) has, the better for all forum users.

It collect data like visited websites, browsers, device, location (country, city) based on IP address.

It seems that GA is not really suitable for AltcoinsTalks members' data security goals. It could even make AltcoinsTalks less friendly to members by providing their data to a Google tool.
As for similarweb, usually, data shown there is just estimate and not so accurate, unless admin has pro account and connects its GA to similarweb for more accurate data.

As I've mentioned, I currently only have access to SimilarWeb and I trust it to create monthly reports for AltcoinsTalks. I know we can't expect too much from a free account, but at least we have data to reference and assess the forum's growth.
As you have been told, Google collects all possible information about users' IP and more about servers, operating systems... That is why privacy is affected to the maximum. Like I said, I imagine the admin doesn't have GA installed for reasons like that or similar.Honestly, I'm still looking for a more effective and accurate website analytics tool than SimilarWeb, and ideally, it would be free. While SimilarWeb Premium account might be better and more reliable, but unfortunately, I've never had the chance to use a Premium account to evaluate or extract more data from it.
The truth is, I don't know if there are other types of tools with the capacity and power of GA but keeping privacy in the foreground.
The work you do with SimilarWeb is incredible and we all thank you for your effort and dedication.
