Title: Is Cryptocurrency a Safe Investment?
Post by: sonaa on August 13, 2024, 08:39:54 AM
Should new users invest in crypto currency or not?  If you have invested then you are not taking any risk, now in the market have attracted a reputation as volatile investments due to high investor losses from scams, hacks, bugs and volatility.   Although the underlying cryptography and blockchain are generally secure, the technical complexity of using and storing crypto assets can pose a significant risk to new users.

No matter how secure a technology is, there is still the human error factor. If users cannot understand even the basics, there are always risks like losing seed phrase or falling victim to phishing attacks. There is also the risk of entrusting their crypto to centralized services.

There is no such investment with zero risks, every investment comes with it's own risks that include gold, real estate, stocks or whatever you can name it.

Cryptocurrency is secure but hacks are not happening due to the technology, it's mostly;y happening due to the user's ignorance like giving away their priv keys to unknown person or using the wallet on an infected device and remaining scams were basically social engineering.

you answered your own question. it must be true.
there are safe investment when we just talk about BTC. everybody seem to say Bitcoin is the future and its been up the whole decade its still in a bull run is you zoom out.

they also say  that when you don't invest in crypto, you are not investing in the future. i guess if you wanna be part of the future you gotta be onboard in crypto.  whether there are scams and exchanges that shuts down turned their investment to zero. you just have to be part of the future.

Cryptocurrency is a description that combines Bitcoin, which was created more than 14 years ago with a significant market value and thousands of investors, with a token that was created a few hours ago, without a #DevelopmentTeam  and without any opportunities to make profits with an offer of millions of tokens. Investing in 99.99% of cryptocurrencies is a failed investment and makes losses, except for a small category of cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, which guarantees you profits in the long term.

When we are talking about investment it all comes with risk just like pros and cons even in stable assets but with crypto I think the lack of having enough idea is one of those risk because you could lose your investment if you are just copying other peoples investment though some manage to make profit but yeah for me it's a gambling when we don't have enough knowledge on investing in something especially in crypto. But the question is, is it safe? Well for me as a crypto enthusiast for more or less eight years for me yes it is and it is way more peofitable compared to other assets.

NO... for now of course.
Instead of investing into cryptocurrency right from the start, they should invest into themselves first. Learn, learn, and learn. Many have said it already, and I will say it again that newbies should focus on learning first before investing.

Well technically speaking, newbies can still invest into crypto right from the start, but their chances of losing money would be much higher because they don't know what they're doing at all, and comparing it to somebody that has knowledge, the chances of him losing money would be lower. I would always say that newbies should not invest first especially on a market that's very volatile like in cryptocurrency.

Cryptocurrency investment is a very risky investment because of it volatile nature however there are coins that are not risky to invest in such as Bitcoin, investing into Bitcoin and holding for a long time is a very good investment and not risky, Bitcoin is the best crypto coin in the world and has a good record history of it's growth in value and in price, people that always panic when they invest into Bitcoin are those trading Bitcoin, they are the one's always in fear because anything can happen at any point in time, I have a friend who's into Bitcoin trading who sometimes loses money, there's a very high risk in trading and that is why I advise newbies not to go into Bitcoin investment by trading.

Long term Bitcoin investment is not risky, and I will advise everyone to go into it, a lot of people don't like waiting for long to gain profit and that is why they always choose to invest in new coins that will later lose value and they will lose there money, Bitcoin investment is not a Ponzi scheme were you can just invest and get huge amount of profit the next day in Bitcoin investment you need to have patience and also be consistent.

investing in crypto does not stop being risky it is always volatile and unpredictable but the difference between new and experienced investors is that experienced investors have more knowledge and can minimize the risks

but i still urge new users to invest given of course that they take the time to study and learn

No, they shouldn't, not even if someone tells them to do that. We can't just go and tell some noobs to invest, it's there hard earn money anyways and with that they should be the one making the decision and not us.

I think for the majority here, I don't think that we have been mentored by someone to join crypto and be a investor. We discover it by ourselves and then we evolved and learn all the technicalities involved in it.

Everyone must be new one when they invest for the first time. It is no problem if there are new users who want to invest in crypto coins. But for the new users, it is better to choose top coins because they are not as risky as average coins. I suggest to focus on top 10 coins. Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana are good coins for new users.

Anyway, there is no safer terms in crypto investment. Underlying can't guarantee the safety in crypto investment. Regarding scams, hacks, and volatility, they will always exist in crypto. There is no way to remove these. Especially volatility, we needs this because it is the nature of crypto that enables us to gain huge profits.

Cryptocurrency is still very safe for investment by new users. It has some benefits over some other traditional investments, like being easier to invest in regardless of what you earn. If you have the means and are financially stable, you can also make other investments aside from your investment in cryptocurrency.

Investment in real estate is also very profitable in some sides of the world.

Yeah however not all coins are safe for one to invest in, there are some coins that are not good for someone to invest into and there are some that is very good to invest your money into, all this new coins they are creating now should be avoided because a lot of them are scam, they are just created in other to defraud people, I know someone that was working with one company in my town and very big company so when he retired they gave him his payoff and he used half of the money to invest in a new coin and before you know it the coin lost value and he lost his money, so I don't advise people to invest in new coins when it comes to cryptocurrency investment, if you want peace of mind investment in Bitcoin and let it be a long time Bitcoin investment, Bitcoin is one of the best investment right now in the world and the best crypto coin, Bitcoin has made a lot of people rich and is still growing in price.
Some people believe Bitcoin won't hit $100k and that it will fall in price, but this mindset is improper, if you go through the history of Bitcoin you will find out that Bitcoin will even grow more than $100k in just 4 to 5 years to come.

Yeah one can invest in other things aside cryptocurrency infact before investing in cryptocurrency you should have a regular source of income, because without having a source of income is impossible to invest in cryptocurrency and succeed in it.

Investing in cryptocurrency for beginners is risky because the prices are unstable. Cryptocurrency is not always regulated. if you are a newbie in the community, it might be difficult to see which ones are real and safe due to the high volume of scams and fraudulent platforms in the community one might fall to the wrong path

but i think this forum helps a lot in verifying some platforms and some users who post them as well and always remember to be careful when clicking on links usually spammed into messages

Although the underlying cryptography and blockchain are generally secure, the technical complexity of using and storing crypto assets can pose a significant risk to new users.

As many have said, any investment is a risk. Many newbies jump in without the proper knowledge about blockchain, crypto, storage, etc because of FOMO or thinking they can get rich quickly with crypto.  Before investing, newbies must educate themselves about the market, the specific cryptocurrencies they are interested in, and the technology behind them. Understanding the fundamentals can help mitigate risks. It’s advisable to start small and only invest what you can afford to lose.

There is always going to be volatility in the market, and that is the risk that everyone will have to endure, especially if you are entering the market. The risks cannot be foreseen completely, but they will be evident once they happen. I think managing your risk would help you alleviate problems in the long run.

Security concerns are easily verifiable if you check the story and code of the cryptocurrency, so make sure that you can trust it as well.

It is true. There is no investment with no risks. Those newbies who begin crypto investment without sufficient knowledge, they are doing a very wrong decision. Sure, the newbies must learn first before they invest in any crypto coin. They newbies should ensure they understand everything about crypto investment. They also need to understand crypto in general, at least. If the newbies don't understand it, they will only waste money in crypto investment. The chance to get losses is very high if we do it without proper knowledge.

not 100% safe in my opinion, because mistakes will always happen to yourself, where there will be many loopholes for fraud, fraud and even wallet hacking,
for new users in my opinion if you just join you are not required to invest directly where we are directed to understand what bitcoin and other crypto are and what risks will occur in general if we already understand then we can determine which crypto is good and can be for the long term,
and remember all input does not have to be swallowed whole we have to filter before making a final decision

If you have an idea about cryptocurrency and you're willing to try out investing on it, then its a good choice because many are being profitable in it, there is a way we can go about investing in crypto and earn massive income from it, this does not justify the absence of risk in it, but having the deep insight of how one can take advantage of the opportunity from investing in any of it.

Well yeah, in every investment there really is a risk and if we are a risk taker then we do have a higher chance to make profit depending on how much risk we take especially in cryptocurrency. If we are smart enough to explore the potential of cryptocurrency then we may benefit from taking the opportunity as long as we have the chance to do it as early as we can.

New users might find it hard to safely manage their investments because of the technical challenges. so If you're new and you are reading this, it is important to start small and only invest what you can afford to lose, also learn as much as you can before diving in, research, ask questions from experts.

Investing in cryptocurrency is safe, but when we fail to protect our assets in crypto then it becomes a threat on us for safety, because we would have left some security measures vulnerable and such are part of the key points used in attacking for scam or hack, the same way if you carelessly handles your financial bank account, others will take advantage of it and steal your money form you, this is why in crypto, having a sound knowledge about the security measures is as important as the same value we place over our asset.

More or less everyone will agree that investing in new currencies so like crypto is not easy. Let's be clear about one thing first, there are no laws for cryptocurrencies, no legal validity, the market is unreliable and unstable, there is no regulatory body, above all the dynamic nature of this currency is constantly changing. So to invest here you have to use your own knowledge. Remember nobody is forcing you to invest in crypto so it is your independent investment.
Crypto investing does not promise you high returns. Moreover, among the many scam projects here so you have to research and participate in the right project.

Itvis not all cryptocurrency that is good to invest in because some were created to scam people and before you know it you will be rugged pull and run at big loss. It is also hard to know which coin is worth investing in no matter how long you make your research, and this is why only bitcoin is worth investing in if you want to keep your bitcoin investment for long. Some altcoins that are doing well now might not survive in the long run because they have no problem that they are solving which will make more investors to invest in them in the latter. Cryptocurrency is risky and you should use your exrra cash that you can do without to invest so that if the price goes against you, you will not become frustrated because you have lost it all.

Indeed, crypto is risky. Even, some people assume crypto is high risk because it is not regulated, high volatility, and unpredictable.
That's why some people believe that investing in crypto means a form of speculation. There is no guarantee for profits, crypto future is difficult to predict.

Many newbies jump in without the proper knowledge about blockchain, crypto, storage, etc because of FOMO or thinking they can get rich quickly with crypto.
Yep. Many newbies immediately invest/trade in crypto with no proper knowledge. It makes them to do random ways, they use improper strategies. That's why many newbies fail, they only waste money in crypto. Then, they blame crypto because of the mistakes. Well, FOMO is always bad, many people have lost huge money because of FOMO.

That is why most of us who has been here for a while are aware of these risks and already has enough knowledge about things that might happen if we are irresponsible or greedy for what we are doing with crypto. When I was a newbie I think FOMO is my friend that is why I lost some of my investmemts before. Greed is the second one that keep on coming that is why I got rugged many times.

Well for starters this isn't financial advice but after doing their own due diligence and research of these markets then the can commit to invest..but personally I would say yes, just dont go all in expecting to be a millionaire overnight.

By the way, investing in crypto isn't any different from investing in other assets such as gold, silver, stocks etc, the  likely difference here is that you will own the assets and have full control that's if you haven't gone the ETF way...and risk it what defines an investment and it's unavoidable tbh.

If you have invested then you are not taking any risk
This is unfair to say...how is this not taking risk ???

Well yeah quite impossible to say no risk while investing. We all know that in real life all kinds of investment is risky. The chance of losing in crypto is quite high compared to the more stable assets like real estate and precious metals but it is also possible to get high rewards real quick in crypto depending on what effective strategy you are using.

Cryptocurrency is a safe investment and there is nothing bad in doing it, all we may have to start with is by learning on how to do
it, all of us here would have started from somewhere to have been where we are in it today, there is safety in crypto once we know how we could manage to engage it, we also have to learn about how we could maintain safety in it, in other for us to avoid being under the risk of scam related attacks.

Understanding the fundamentals of crypto would save you from getting scammed. There are a lot of newbies that lost the funds they got from dogs airdrop cause they don't know how to make use of exchanges.

Fundamentals and technical analysis are two important thing a beginner in cryptocurrency should know. There is no shortcut on this and skills should be honed from oneself especially in dealing with the volatility of crypto investment. Losses are inevitable so we must be aware of it before jumping in.

Yes, but before they start up with crypto investment, they should first of all, learn about the basic knowledge of crypto. Learning about that will help them to know about the volatility of crypto, how to safeguard their coin and keep the seed phrase safe, and all that, etc.

Crypto knowledge is very versatile and interesting to know. It can build and take you to maximum heights if you adhere to its prons and cons by knowing when and how to invest in potential coin like Bitcoin

True! That is why we need to atleast learn the basics and then to the more complicated ones if we are gonna try to dive deep into how things work. Though it will take time but I know it's worth it. Risk is risk and we can't afford to lose just because we are not ready for it.

Well yeah correct!
Yep. People who can't survive a long time in crypto, they may follow FOMO and they don't really understand crypto. If they understand crypto, they must have an intention to stay a long time. They also won't invest or trade crypto carelessly, it is because they are aware of the risk level in crypto.

Some of us must experience following FOMO, I also ever did it. However, we must learn from it, we never do it in the future. Well, sometimes experience is an expensive matter but it must be very helpful in the future. When we already know that following FOMO is wrong way, then we never make the same mistake again.

Exactly, I also did the same when I was a newbie in crypto especially during bullrun and the booming of memecoins I was tempted to do it again and yeah as usual I've failed I got rugged and lost my savings because of it. Experience really has taught us a lot and those mistakes are paying off because we've learned from it.

Experience is not born from mistakes so the more mistakes we make the more experience we gain. But making a mistake in crypto means losing funds. However new investors always buy meme coin to get rich suddenly. They don't think much about investment because they want to get rich by investing very little money. New investors always follow one person. But if his following is published by the right experienced person then he can get profit. We also have the experience of eating such loss, but my loss was small.

You can't tell if crypto is a safe investment it depends on how you are engaged in it. Everything has a risk because nothing is perfectly made there must be risk but the wisdom you apply to your investment determines the risk.
In every crypto investment your are advised to invest what you can afford to lose and also make sure as an investor you've gone through the rules that leads you through the risk before investing.

not 100% safe in my opinion, because mistakes will always happen to yourself, where there will be many loopholes for fraud, fraud and even wallet hacking,
newbies are expected to make mistakes yes of course we want to make as least as possible however sometimes it is quite inevitable in any case that we do make mistakes we just need to learn how to avoid making the same mistake later on
Quote
for new users in my opinion if you just join you are not required to invest directly where we are directed to understand what bitcoin and other crypto are and what risks will occur in general if we already understand then we can determine which crypto is good and can be for the long term,
and remember all input does not have to be swallowed whole we have to filter before making a final decision
experience will teach you a lot of things but we can't just dive in to risking our money by investing right away so you are right that newbies should get as much knowledge as they can to make a decision about what is right for them to do

noted in memory to continue to be careful in all things at this time, if you are not careful, crypto assets will disappear, fraudsters will have many ways to trick their victims

There is no investment that is not risky and crypto is not exempted because it is a digital asset in your custody and problem care and security measures are not practiced, you can lose your assets to scammers. This is why on must use an open-source elf custody wallet to keep your funds and keep your seed phrase safe from third party to avoid your wallet being compromised. Also afford offers that are too good to be real and don't connect your w3allet to random site.

Investments are all towards either preserving your value or gaining profits or even both. However the best I can say about crypto investments is that it's one of the easiest and most accessible form of investments. A couple of other investments requires you to understand some technical economics and concepts of inflation to be able to properly profit off it.

However crypto investments are far easier to attain. Crypto currencies are very volatile and it's up to you as the investor to use that to your advantage making use of simple economic concepts. The biggest problem I see in crypto investments is security. It's more difficult to secure your crypto investments properly than it actually is to get them. The internet comes with a lot of risks that can make you vulnerable that's why one has to take security very seriously in crypto investments.

Yeah I agree with you that when money is involved it always has risks within it especially in investing assets most specifically cryptocurrency which is I think the most volatile of all assets. That is why we need to stay low and avoid posting on social media that we are earning cryptocurrency because that would endanger ourselves and our family.

No one can tell you that an investment is safe as if they do it might actually be a scam attempt. What actually different most crypto currency investment from other investments out their is their transparency as everything most times is seen on a Blockchain network. The security of your investment then depends on your ability to be able to practice proper security techniques that has been in existence. Some investors takes these likely most times and end up getting scammed or having their coins stolen by hackers. Just know the safety of your fund is in your hands

Indeed. All investments are risky, there is no investment with zero (0) risk. If there is an investment with no risk, people will only choose that investment. We also need to understand that there is no investment can guarantee profits. It will always depend on our ability to manage the investment. Moreover in crypto, it is actually called as a high risk investment. It is a digital investment, it can easily be stolen by scammers if we aren't careful to save the data.

Newbies can invest in crypto but before they do that, they are advised to first of all know the basic knowledge of crypto and the risks that are involved in crypto. Understanding the risk involved will help a newbie how they can navigate the market with caution and also try to invest with their spare money, not their emergency money.

The crypto market remains one of the safest and most lucrative business anyone can invest in today all these talk about volatility of the crypto market are actually antic's being thrown by people who still see crypto as scam and is not in support of it because the fact of it is that there's no business that you go into in the world that doesn't have any form of risk or the other every successful business you see today has been work in progress for a long time with those managing it puting in their time and strength in making sure that they master that business from every side that is also with crypto currency because crypto is a world of it own so if anyone is going into crypto investment the person should be ready for anything as we learn from past mistake,  anyone coming into the crypto market for the first time should always be careful as they are not too familiar with market and is likely going to record loos if the right information and knowledge is not there and so that person's experience should not be used as a measure in asking if crypto is safe for investment
