Any ideas of what we can celebrate, please post a reply below, open to all proposals.
will try to change the logo to celebrate as much events as we can, to keep the positivity flowing through our community.
So far, proposed ideas:
- oktoberfest : Sat, Sep 21, 2024 – Sun, Oct 6, 2024
- anniversary of Princess Diana's death : August 31st
- world teachers' day: October 5th
-
Tomorrow, August 19, is world humanitarian day, world photography day and also world Orangutan day, I don't know if there will be other events tomorrow.
I think that given the times we live in and seeing how the world is, it would be good to have a logo about world humanitarian day. I don't know what other users think.

Almost every day of the year something is celebrated, and while some events are international, some are related to specific countries. I found a list where you can see all the international days that are celebrated around the world, maybe some of them will be interesting for the forum.

It seems that I am late in giving information because yesterday, August 17, 1945 was the independence day of the Republic of Indonesia (I come from Indonesia). Unfortunately it is too late because now it is August 18, 2024.
Maybe we can meet again to celebrate August 17 in 2025.
Or maybe for this country's independence day it is not included in the "Altcoins Doodles" list ?

independence not on list for now

Nice one admin that will Definitely light up spirit on the forum. Currently I really don't have much of a big idea since altcoins is like a general stuff for many coins. If only all altcoins had a singular day to celebrate. Anyways I have a few suggestions.
Firstly we could do something like an art contest for the forum or a possible image contest and it would be conducted at a specific time of the year. Think of it more like an image anniversary for the forum.
Also, we could do a yearly crypto holiday celebration probably something like Ethereum's birthday (every July 30th ) since it the highest altcoin , or we do a celebration for the most promising altcoin at the end of each year.

I think this is the nice thing about this idea, because there can be "1000" dates, but only 100 of them be of interest to the community...
For example, 7-9- 21 (9/7/21) it would be interesting to have something commemorative that Bitcoin was adopted as legal tender.

Wow , this is first time admin replied my post , my honorable im stay here.

Thank Famos and this is just my memory when Independence Day occurred in our country (Indonesia), we are also very strong in terms of statehood including respecting the independence of our beloved country Indonesia.
I just found out this information for the first time that Bitcoin is a legal tender, because as I remember when I saw the Telegram Airdrop group which only informed about Bitcoin that can buy Pizza, but that too if I'm not mistaken because I only saw it briefly.

Interesting, Thanks for providing the list and I guess this is most authentic source where we can find the information.
I found three interesting days that we may celebrate through the forum doodles if the admin likes any of them.
International Day of Charity - 5 September https://www.un.org/en/observances/charity-day
International Day of Democracy - 15 September https://www.un.org/en/observances/democracy-day
World Cleanup Day - 20 September https://documents.un.org/doc/undoc/gen/n23/406/60/pdf/n2340660.pdf
I guess that is enough for now. As Lucius said, Almost every day of the year, something is celebrated. But we cannot celebrate all of them every day :)
-
Thanks to the admin for allowing for this and other members bringing up suggestion in which we can set as celebration days to mark special events or achievements created by people all over the world, here are may little suggestions.
1. Hal Finney annual remembrance day 28th August
2. Queen Elizabeth of England remembrance day 8th September
3. Altcoinstalks.com day October 19th (am not 100% sure)
4. World children's day May 27th
I may add up by editing or positing more subsequently over time.

A few ideas:
1 - Jan 3, 2009, Bitcoin Genesis block Date.
2 - Jul 30 2015, Ethereum Genesis block Date.
3 - April 23 2011, Satoshi vanished (https://www.bitcoin.com/satoshi-archive/emails/mike-hearn/16/)

I don't know if you noticed my point because this is exactly what I was trying to point out. Take a look at what you suggested, they are nice however over 50% of the suggestion are all bitcoin events and these events are mostly for a forum like bitcoin talk. The problem with getting such events or celebrations is because altcoins doesn't really refer to a singular or particular crypto currency rather it's a collective name of many cryptocurrencies unlike bitcoin which is for a single currency.
Like I suggested earlier, one possible thing to also do is create a poll on the forum for users to vote on the most promising altcoin of the year of course the poll would be created towards the end of the year so before the year runs out a contest for that particular altcoin can be conducted. Making Ethereum the theme in every year's contest is also ok since it's the highest altcoin currently.

You have point.
However, Although this is an ALTcoins forum, bitcoin is growing here. Bitcoin mixers already occupy a big space here
I liked the idea of the "altcoin of the year", which users could vote .

Actually I found a long list of occasions to celebrate on the UN Wikipedia page but I chose this list, maybe some of them are good:
15 September International Day of Democracy
16 September International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer
21 September International Day of Peace
26 September International Day for the Total Elimination of Nuclear Weapons
2 October International Day of Non-Violence
12 October World Migratory Bird Day
16 November International Day for Tolerance
20 November Universal Children's Day
10 December Human Rights Day
20 December International Human Solidarity Day
-
~snip~
21 September International Day of Peace
Considering all the suffering of people in the world because of wars, maybe the forum could have a logo of peace on days when there is nothing else to remember or celebrate. I think we can never go wrong with that, because peace is the basis for a normal life.

-
This should be forum focused more on cryptocurrencies so I think we should stick to that when using logo modifications.
For all other topics you will find people who don't agree on anything and they could also find some symbols offensive.
If I was the admin I would just keep everything clean with logo, no changes all the time.

Yes thank you for sharing the link of the peace symbol here, I also strongly support this suggestion that the forum should carry the peace symbol not only on the International Peace Day but as you mentioned on days when there is nothing else to remember or celebrate because we really need this in a time when wars and international and civil conflicts have spread around the world.
I hope that peace will prevail in the world and that people will remember that the reason for their existence on earth is construction and peace and not wars and destruction.

of course crypto events priority, but some other fun events also can be discussion starter or good for awareness
concerning politics, we avoid any politics, because it is depressing, the opposite of the vibe that we want.

You avoid politics but add you have been adding religion symbols that could probably create more division and conflict between members.
As admin you can do whatever you want and I will respect that, but I think this is a bit of time wasting, especially when more people want to see different changes and improvements with boards.

yeah but the idea is celebrating all religious holidays , that very different than politics
religious holidays people are happy, politics people just hate one another ...
-
I dunno if this is okay but here in PH we have upcoming yearly holiday called "National Heroes day" 08/26. Maybe this can be added but its okay if its not though.

nice but too local, not international enough

More people killed and continue to kill each other because of different religions, and it's not all about happy holidays like it looks.
Politics is just a circus for the masses, give them red and blue color options as distraction.
Better stick to crypto themes or keep it clean.

true, but religious holidays make us think of the others as well, end of the day we all have one planet, and celebrating each others holidays is a the best way in my opinion to create a more harmonious society ,,,
as for politics, unfortunately, the only way is to lock all politicians up, they are masters of deception and human manipulation.
