Hey mates, good day. I had a discussion with a friend earlier about the scarcity of quality projects involving NFTs and the Metaverse right now, compared to earlier when almost everyone was quite optimistic. What do you think happened? Are there still projects gaining traction with NFTs and Metaverse affiliations?
-
I sincerely think the current trend on the crypto space is tilted towards Memecoins and tokens with tap to earn mechanism. However, there are still some quality metaverse crypto projects. Yes! They aren't so popular as only investors who are in this space really for the great technology behind blockchain. Recently, I've seen the likes of BRN Metaverse Launchpool events trending. There are obviously some more good projects if one does due diligence to explore.

Last year, there had been many big projects focused on NFT and the Metaverse but right now in 2024 and maybe even 2025 the market has spoken big and the choice has become memecoins for good. And with the strong interest on memecoin, projects in the NFT and Metaverse categories are finding it so hard to gain support and excitement which are all needed for any project to gain traction. In between the two, I would say that NFT is still alive though not the way it was before and this can be on a case-to-case basis depending a lot on who and what can be launching an NFT series. Metaverse is an advanced kind of thing and there can be a time when it would be back especially if the memecoin - which speaks no real value in the first place - trend will die down.

The momentum has moved from NFTs and the Metaverse to Memecoin projects. If I asked you what are the characteristics that can distinguish the name of the Memecoin project from NFTs and the Metaverse projects, you will notice that the differences are not in the name, project description and logo. Therefore, if the new trend, for example, becomes about anything, the same projects will appear and change the name, description and logo.

Metaverse is something that big companies like Meta are working on and you will hear more about it soon, you can allocate 2% to 3% of the money you don't need during the next six months in it, just search for the latest developments related to the industry and the most popular tokens, invest when the color is red and sell with profits (sell only the amount of your capital)

I agree. Memes are now in the lens of the market. Big, small, new, interesting and not so much - pick your own fighter, so to speak ;D
We are living in a free market and when something is not anymore the "flavor of the month" and is not anymore getting the nod, attention and wallet approval of people who ae investing money here then we have to move on. For now, NFT and metaverse are not anymore palatable though we could not see what can happen into the future...so maybe there can be a renaissance soon on these fields. I love Metaverse and there can be a good many technological innovations that can happen in there but its time is not yet ripe. As for NFTs, people are realizing that the value they are bringing could not stood the test of time so they are shifting their attention to other things including memecoins where ROI can also be so attractive. There is no permanent narrative in the cryptocurrency market...we are just like the dunes that keep on shifting everyday.

NFTs and the Metaverse were once dominant trends in the crypto market in 2021, but unfortunately, they couldn't sustain their momentum due to the crypto winter of 2022, which crushed investor expectations and FOMO. To date, NFTs and the Metaverse have yet to fully recover as capital continues to flow into BTC, with only a few AI and DeFi-related tokens demonstrating significant price gains.
While I may not be keen on purchasing NFTs or engaging with the Metaverse directly, I remain optimistic about their long-term potential. I'm prepared to invest in the native tokens of platforms within these trends, anticipating substantial returns during the next bullrun without taking on excessive risk. I think the projected success of GameFi, SocialFi, and SportFi in 2025 could serve as the primary catalyst for the resurgence of NFTs and the Metaverse.

The trends now are about the tap-to-earn games and meme-coins but I think that in the future, if the metaverse crypto project is developed and uses the latest technology today like AI, they could change how we interact online. Imagine a space where virtual worlds, gaming, and socializing all come together with blockchain making it possible to own digital assets and create real economies. so yeah I think it will still become a trend

Many say that now is the Bullish season and of course this Bullish will provide a special price increase but all of that requires a well-organized scheme.
1. Bitcoin marketcap up
2. Meme coin marketcap up
3. Ethereum and platform up
4. NFT, Metaverse going up
I've seen this scheme in online media but I forgot where I saw it. That's not a suggestion either but it's just my insight into the possibility of a coin that has a basic NFT and Metaverse rising.
Are there still projects gaining traction with NFTs and Metaverse affiliations?
Check information about NFT here https://coinmarketcap.com/nft/ , I see the highest NFT is:
1. BoredApeYachClub
2. BTCat
3. Liberty Cats
Number 1 is basically from the Ethereum chain and number 2 + 3 is basically the Polygon chain.

I think the Metaverse concept is still brimming with potential, even though its hype has dwindled compared to its peak. While many projects have struggled to maintain momentum, it’s not fair to say the concept is failing altogether.
Just check all of those Gamifi projects on building metaverse everywhere. Decentraland (https://decentraland.org/), The Sandbox (https://www.sandbox.game/en/), Axie Infinity (https://axieinfinity.com/) and all others. I expect to see hugu pumps like GALA had...Recently Shiba Inu reveals its Metaverse (https://nftinsider.io/shiba-inu-unveils-shib-the-metaverse/) as well. I am excited about all of that.
I believe the Metaverse will regain its spotlight.
