I don't know how others view this matter, but I think that the ANN part is one of the more important ones on the forum, because it is the place where crypto services come and present their service.
Currently, this board (https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?board=21.0) is open to everyone and services are added without any criteria. For example, starting with mixers, through exchanges to new tokens, and now casino announcements.
Given that there are already dedicated sections, for example, for gambling, shouldn't such ANNs stay in that section?
Likewise, I don't see anything in common between Bestchange monitoring (which is adequate to be there) and for example the SHEGBY token. Tokens and altcoins should have their own place for announcing, maybe Tokens/Coins Offerings (ICO, IEO, etc.) (https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?board=20.0) is the best place for that.
What do you think, is this idea justified or I just don't like this kind of clutter?
(will mention Jokers as the moderator of this section, probably has something to say on this topic)

The idea is that all announcements can go in ANN: you get one topic, that's it, and you don't get the privilege to spam other sub-sections with your project either...
I thought technically that the ICO section was for pre-ANN based topics, ie before there was a dedicated ANN and launch of project, but could be wrong or things have changed here. For starters there isn't a new ICO announcing every other day anymore. Overall given the ANN section is relatively quiet, I don't think we need to make it any quieter as it were, and topics only need bumping bi-weekly to remain on the front page. I otherwise see ANNs in gambling section so I assume using ANN section is optional.

Tokens/Coins Offerings (ICO, IEO, etc.) is for concrete offers of tokens: presale, ICO, IDO, etc. There should be information about the event: or exact dates, or if it is ongoing at the moment. There can be topics both in ANN and in ICO if they are not duplicating: one for project representing, another one for the token sale event promotion.

It's the closest to the top of the forum section where to represent the project and that's why many prefer to have a topic there, we talked about that and many project representatives like this situation more than if separating. If someone duplicated his ANN topic somewhere else, it is an inappropriate way of using the forum. One ANN topic per project.

What Examplens is suggesting will work well in a forum with alot of activities. Such as as BTT is dominated by gambling projects. By this, they are ok to announce their project in the gambling board.
But if such happens here, some ANN threads will be so silent and unengaging. I support co-existing for now.

The entire forum needs to be reorganized and for discussions to be effective it would be better to discuss it via forum senator board and vote on what is appropriate.
Regarding ANN there are already some Child Boards but they need to be more detailed since it is one of the most active boards. For example new sub-boards such as Open Source Projects, Exchanges, Bounty, Tokens/Coins Offerings (ICO, IEO, etc.)

One of the members who created this topic is now with a new role of senator, so let's see if that is going to make any difference with changing ANN section and other parts of the forum.
I am waiting to see some suggestions and good proposals but admin will probably have to approve anything.

Split the ANN board into two - one for tokens/ICOs and one for everything else.

I think examplens idea is basically to separate token from services.
I dint think new tokens add anything at all to the community. But services are important because they are sponsors, they promote campaigns here, they bring traffic and create topics regarding community support.
I think it is a totally different engag and ico shouldn't be in ANN imo

I totally agree with this and it sounds very logical to at least add one sub-board for all tokens, only exception could be if specific services are using tokens.
Most of the new tokens are worthless crap nowadays, with few exceptions maybe, and they are just taking attention from good projects and services.
