Title: Fake reviews on Trustpilot
Post by: i_show_speed on September 06, 2024, 05:37:20 PM
Hey guys!

Please advise me how I can remove fake reviews from my business' page on TrustPilot. I constantly receive reviews with the look-alike text from newly-created accounts. The reviewer doesn't respond when I ask for more details. TrustPilot moderators don't consider these reviews suspicious, despite I sent them a lot of letters with explanation. How can I deal with this problem? It seriously damages the reputation of my business :'(

There is no way you can remove fake reviews from Trustpilot, especially not if you are doing it yourself.
Maybe if you had a lot of people reporting fake reviews that could force moderators to act and delete them.
And I wouldn't trust Trustpilot reviews for anything btw.

If you already show explanation to TrustPilot moderator and they reject, i doubt there's anything you could do. You could try hire someone to reply those fake review, while either mentioning they could contact your customer service or explaining that information on the review is wrong or inaccurate. Here are few example done by Binance,
https://www.trustpilot.com/reviews/66dbbe936ca5979135cd7d52 (https://www.trustpilot.com/reviews/66dbbe936ca5979135cd7d52)
https://www.trustpilot.com/reviews/66cee576362a2d71f854bb6d (https://www.trustpilot.com/reviews/66cee576362a2d71f854bb6d)

Although i have no idea how much it help your business reputation.

You can send them email and also to their support team. And if none has been responded then also make a review on the Trustpilot website amount your complain so that people will also see it and also still look for their active email address and email them. Those are some the way I can suggest for you to follow up. And also if you know their representative in and platform then you can also pm them from there.

Don't stop for looking for a way to stop thoe fake review about your business because you have to protect your business from them. Stay Safe.

Bad reviews are not a problem if they appear as if they as spam rview , the problem is about real scam with tx id, OR techincal errors.
ask the support team to remove it and if they do not help you, then answered it a good way as your answer is what will determine whether it was a good or fake review.

I am interested to see your trustpilot page. The easy way not to receive the negative review is to improve your service or product that you are selling. I don't think people have any interest to go after you and leave a bad review for nothing.

If you think those reviews are fake and doesn't really reflect to the reputation of your business, why care about it?

When your business starts to disrupt businesses, your company also attracts attention of your competitors.  But let us see your page also maybe you can get the sympathy of your readers and just counter the negative reviews.

Sometimes a rival company will attack the other company with false reviews.
So lets pretend the op is fully legit good company say custom sheepskin  car seat covers.
and lets pretend the fake reviews are from a not so legit rival company.

The victim can reply to the false review. Please reply back to me and I will fix the issues. That is about all he can do.

In a week or two or three he can say this reviewer does not reply to me about the issues.

I have seen bad reviews. More than once. So I wish the op good luck fixing this. (if he is legit)

OP one thing you should know is that in line of business, there are always competitors. So you receiving fake reviews is not a big deal. Have wondered why the fake review keeps are coming? because the possibility of a competitor out there trying to outshine you and if the  representative of  trust pilot failed to look into your facts, you just have to counter the reviews by doing the same to salvage the reputation of your business because that is just you can do now. You could also reply those reviews with facts and stating it boldly to them that you are out to render services for good if you think you are being sincere here.

So you receiving fake reviews is not a big deal.

It is a big deal if it will chase away potential customers - we all know that they are people out there that still take the reviews on TrustPilot seriously so those type of people will be reluctant to use the service that the Op is providing after going through the reviews and seeing negative feedback whether they appear not like or humanly.

Maybe you should get my point clear, OP is not the first to get such review and there are counter measures OP can use to redeem his business reputation on trust pilot. OP can counter their reviews by relying everyone reviewer with a possible accurate reply to their review left while convincing the public of what possibly transpired amongst the reviewers. Remember this is business and the possibility that OP competitors are at work against OP.

On the other side, OP could implore same measures used by the fake reviewers to counter their reviews by they making a good review if that be the case and if only measures to salvage the situation can be the priority, then OP is left with no choice than to do it because that is the only way out since the Trust pilot team is not coming forth with possible solution to the situation at hand.

Thank you all guys, I've read your messages in this topic and decided to contact TP support service to report an attack on my business' page. As a result, it took them about a month to delete all fake reviews and stop them from appearing. I assume they were fake reviews written by competitors becuse they all described the same negative situation and none of the reviewers has ever responded to provide more info.

I  believe such to be from competitors to tarnish the reputation of your business but it was nice you took a bold step to making sure such situation does not drain your efforts in your business. I was curious why it took the TP team almost a month to delete those fake reviews which was aimed at tarnishing the reputation of a business with no proof and evidence attached. They should be proactive in situations as sensitive as this so that peoples business does not crumble as a result of competitors  trying their wicked act to tarnish business with their platform.

They very much rely on their software when it comes to detecting fake reviews, at least they told me so, and their algorithms detected only 5% fake reviews on my page. Trustpilot takes a neutral state in disputes when it comes to dealing with negative reviews, so it is sometimes hard to explain to them that the situation described in the review is fake (despite I was ready to provide all necessary evidence). Probably they don't have time to deal with all this dispute stuff. They also told me that they have a lot of requests coming every day, probably that's why it took them so long to review my case. It is certainly a bad situation since a great damage can be done to a business' reputation by such attacks. For me, it was a principle to delete these reviews since I hate to see lies posted about me :)

Best way to have a legit reviews on your trustpilot page regardless the rating is to invite your clients/users using the email used for truspilot, when they make reviews there is a label "verified" which means the  reviews came from your legit past clients.

Thus fake reviews are easy to identify and reporting them or flag them (reviews) as abuse is the best way to remove them on your truspilot page.

We encourage clients to leave reviews, however not every client of ours leave a review :) We have a rather small smm business, there are a lot of competitors so sometimes it's tough.

You should keep encouraging your customers to keep leaving a review of your services because that would help your business standout from the others if they derive maximum satisfaction from them. You already said that there are lots of competitors which is a good reason for you putting efforts to render good services to your customers so they could leave a positive review for you so that any prospective client who sees it would contact you.

I think if you follow the steps PX-Z  has mentioned, it would help you a lot as your customers would easily do it for you if you attach link to your trust pilot page in the body of the mail to them for their review. It would also show the authenticity of your services.
