Title: Please avoid opening new topics for reporting users
Post by: dragononcrypto on September 09, 2024, 01:04:43 PM
The Decentralized Team section is for reporting issues that require action from moderators. The topics to do so can be found listed below.

Report the following here: Plagiarism (https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?topic=62494.0) | Spammers (https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?topic=62493.0) | Multi-accounts (https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?topic=97966.0) | Incentivised Posting (https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?topic=112178.0) | Shitposters (https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?topic=320260.0) | PM Spammers (https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?topic=184696.0)

Over the years hundreds of users misbehaving have been reported in this section and action has been taken by moderators assigned for such roles.

As a reminder we do not need new topics opened to report users as we have topics dedicated for such purposes.

There are a few different reasons for this such as the following:

- All warnings are logged in the mod log, so as mods we do not need topic references to deal with repeat offenders
- We do no want to name and shame users who were found to be misbehaving with dedicated topics in their name
- We do not need discussion from the broader community to deal with such issues, only moderator intervention
- If admin intervention is required mods will seek assistance, moderation is otherwise delegated to mods

Some examples of when to open new topics in this section:

- Presenting information that concerns moderation of the forum that isn't necessarily reporting a user (example: Hacked Accounts Info)
- Presenting information about a project shilling on the forum that benefits from discussion (example: BG shilling and forum actions!)
- New and developing issues that aren't covered by the report topics, such as reporting AI posting

Simply put, if your post is to report a user, please use the dedicated topics to do so.

Thanks,
