Title: Bitcoin: A Unique Diversified - by BlackRock
Post by: bitmover on September 19, 2024, 11:50:31 PM
Blackrock just release this document called Bitcoin: A Unique Diversifier

Quote
https://www.blackrock.com/us/individual/literature/whitepaper/bitcoin-a-unique-diversifier.pdf

Bitcoin, as the first decentralized, non-sovereign monetary alternative to gain widespread global adoption,
has no traditional counterparty risk, depends on no centralized system, and is not driven by any one
country’s fortunes.7 These properties make it an asset that is largely detached (on fundamentals) from
certain critical macro risk factors, including banking system crises, sovereign debt crises, currency
debasement, geopolitical disruption, and other country-specific political and economic risks. Over the long
term, bitcoin’s adoption trajectory is likely to be driven by the degree to which concerns rise and fall over
global monetary instability, geopolitical disharmony, U.S. fiscal sustainability and U.S. political stability.

The doc is full of charts and other interesting stuff most bitcoiners already know, like this chart

What is really impressive is that this is coming now from Blackrock.  This certainly adds and extra credibility to all those arguments we already know.

I have mixed thoughts about the big companies, banks and governments that have a lot of BTC, but I find it fascinating how some of the texts I've always read about Bitcoin and cryptos have come true
I remember to this day that I read in another forum the sentence I posted above, of course the thought is older

I've known about Bitcoin since 2017, but that's exactly what happened, they had to accept Bitcoin now and they were finally able to see what Satoshi did and left for us
Perhaps decentralization could play an even more important role than we think at the moment

BlackRock has presented Bitcoin in a wonderful way in this document, not unlike the way Bitcoin believers use to show all its unique features and strengths.

Although I do not trust centralized companies and I do not know if BlackRock really believes in what it presented in this document or if this is just a propaganda to attract more investors and put their money in a centralized company in which they do not have any privet keys to Bitcoin but only own shares.

In any case, I would like to have a positive view of these companies in terms of their contribution to the expansion of Bitcoin and increasing adoption.

Seems to me that BlackRock is vying to be one of the top Bitcoin evangelists and promoters and it is because it is doing business with Bitcoin so it is on their own financial interest that more and more people view Bitcoin positively and that the mainstream population will really look Bitcoin as the best alternative to the usual fiat money and financial system under the state. In the past, BlackRock would not dare do this but time has changed a lot and it is now on the side of Bitcoin and can even be one of the biggest influencer to what direction Bitcoin will go for years to come. Let's all watch where this love affair between BlackRock and Bitcoin will go from here on....

blackrock is an investment company that offers to buy bitcoin for you so i am not really surprised blackrock has if not the most then one of the largest holding of bitcoin among investment companies i would be more surprised if they did not put out information about bitcoin to promote it and their company by association

Just remember that blackrock doesn't hold bitcoin.  If the price goes up or down they do not lose or win any cent.

These btc are from their customers, they are just making the custodial service.

So far Larry Fink is on Bitcoin's side, obviously he's making money out of it and has to say good things about BTC
But I'll be confident when and if he shows a good Bitcoin wallet with some coins in his custody
That would be a game changer  ;D ;D ;D

That is possible, he might own some bitcoin

But just receiving 0.1% in adm fee of some bitcoin etf is already a huge amount of money!
