I hope to have everyone's contributions so we can have better reporting in the future. Thank you very much!

Title: Re: AltcoinsTalks forum simple monthly report: September 2024
Post by: Lucius on October 02, 2024, 12:47:09 PM
The statistics are interesting, because as far as we can see we have positive results in the number of new members, the number of topics and posts, but at the same time there is an obvious drop in rank and visits in the last three months.

I somehow expected that these numbers would improve at least a little in September, given that the annual vacations in the Northern Hemisphere are over and that people will have more interactions online. It seems that we will still have to wait for some better results in the coming months in the hope that a new bull run will happen.

21.2K views in a month is the lowest number so far and it is a bad number compared to the past months or in general, and the number of +162 new members is still in the forum, but the most important thing now is to focus on the quality of posts and to have a greater number of visits. Perhaps reorganizing the forum has become necessary.

if we weren't numbers, I'd believe we had even more visitors every month
It's hard to find an easy explanation, since the forum is improving, we have more users, good campaigns are running and cryptos are doing well, with BTC at +60k
It seems that need an explosion in price for everyone to go into FOMO and start researching and browsing cryptos and finding both forums again

There's a lot of people with no patience to use the forum too, prefering X, Discord or Youtube to learn some content

Not that great compared to the previous months but atleast the numbers are managed to stay in the okayish region in my opinion cause the internet users are moving towards the past learning platforms and have no intention of making any efforts on their own and expect someone to give everything on a platter but it's better to have quality over quantity.

This is not happening here only even Bitcointalk is having serious decline for the past few years so just take the positives and keep giving our 100% to make this place a better one.

This is true, because new generations have a hard time accepting the concept of a forum - they find it simply boring, slow and not flashy enough compared to all other social networks. What saves things to some extent are sig/bounty campaigns, but it will be difficult to motivate someone from a developed country to write on the forum for $50 or maybe even $100 a week when at least we at BTT know that not so long ago we could get even $200+ in sig campaigns per week with the same conditions as today.

Of course, if the motive is exclusively to make money, then this is clearly visible in the posts - and if no one reads those posts because they are generally bad/meaningless, then even 1000 new members of such quality will not help us in positioning the forum.

Good to see that number of members is growing but we need to improve a lot.
We continue to drop in rankings and visits a lot, this is worst result we had in this year, but maybe something will change and improve in next few months.
I noticed in all forums that activity is dropping during the summer months and it slowly increases when we are moving to winter months (for most of the world).

We're going through a very boring accumulation phase in this market with BTC fluctuating between $50K-70K. This is even worse than BTC's price drop because investors are losing hope and they might soon exit the market if the price chart doesn't see significant fluctuations. This negative sentiment is also causing a decrease in interest and engagement on AltcoinsTalks, resulting in not-so-good statistics.

While reorganizing the forum might be necessary for long-term goals, I don't think it will be able to change the forum or the crypto market state. We should try to create higher-quality content to attract engagement and help AltcoinsTalks appear when crypto investors search for information on Google.

I would say that it is not so optimistic if the last three months we have had a drastic drop in visits.

From 146.2K in June, we fell to 21K in September, not very encouraging.

In the Forum's Senate topic, I suggested that we start a discussion and collect proposals on how to increase the activities and quality of the forum. I don't know if it's the right way, but it might be worth a try.

I think we'll need a website design expert who understands user psychology and SEO to restructure the AltcoinsTalks forum. Personally, I'm quite familiar with the current interface and haven't encountered any difficulties in finding information or discussing the market.

It's hard to expect AltcoinsTalks to be very active when the broader market remains stagnant and investors are extremely frustrated. I'm confident that this will change once we see BTC surpass $100K in the next few months. Then we'll be back here discussing BTC ATH and welcoming new members.

maybe a lot of people lost interest, got bored or just got confused and decided to not give this forum the light of day anymore it is disappointing but i believe this can be improved i am guessing that once bitcoin starts rising constantly and the general crypto market goes on a more positive direction there will be a boost in the forum

this is great content, op thank you!

Yeah, the worst thing for market sentiment isn't the up or down movement, but rather the prolonged sideways trend that BTC has been showing for months. Investors have continuously missed out on many profit-taking opportunities, and they've also sold tokens right at local bottoms and haven't been able to buy back enough of their original tokens amount. This has certainly impacted their positivity in the market, and they're no longer seeking information or engaging on AltcoinsTalks.

This isn't necessarily bad news for the forum. As soon as we see more positive signs of BTC and many ALTS recovering, the excitement will return to the market and the forum. I hope we'll have more serious discussions about the market, the potential of projects to serve the learning needs of investors during that bullrun.

I'm trying to believe that signature campaign affects the visit and statistics so much. But I am not so sure about this. If you change the signature board, you will understand that many campaigns ended. Could this interpret to users stop using the forum immediately they are out of campaign?

Perhaps reorganizing the forum has become necessary.
Very necessary, I'll be glad if you kick the move as a senator.

Sig.campaigns have been a driving force behind AltcoinsTalks' growth and activity for the past few months, and their value is undeniable. However, AltcoinsTalks itself has its own community and traffic that heavily rely on the overall market condition. This is perhaps the time when we can feel this most keenly as the market dullness has made AltcoinsTalks less lively.

Things could change as soon as we have a new ATH for BTC. That will be the moment FOMO is triggered and new investors frantically search for crypto information, enjoy discussing crypto, and become members of AltcoinsTalks. This has been true in the bullruns 2017 and 2021, and I believe it will be true again in 2025.

Bullrun or some new significant ATH will certainly bring a new increase in activity and possibly some new users. To take full advantage of such a peak, it is necessary to create a high-quality environment here, so that new users come immediately to accept Altt as a reliable source for crypto discussions.

The visits have dropped a lot for last month and I guess that's because of lesser active signature campaigns. It's the same also in the other forum but I think once Bitcoin goes high, the interest of many will also come and visible with the stats. Thanks for this effort OP, keep it up and hoping for the positive report that we'll see for the remaining months for this year.

I was looking for the link for September as you did in the other months but I didn't but only saw the analysis in the table. And total number of active members of 89,891, this is a little bit lower though it is a gradual process. It was 88k and not 1% has added but the addition is slow. And I also agreed with bhadz that the lack of signature campaigns also contributed to it and if a campaign comes, those who are at least active will not be accepted but those who are not here.

Yes, I agree. We need to prepare thoroughly to welcome new members during the next bull run. When the market frenzy kicks in, everyone will want to become a crypto investor and they'll be looking for interesting content to read and discuss. Encouraging content creation and discussions based on learning and cooperation is essential for AltcoinsTalks to truly stand out on Google when investors search for information.

Currently, the market is in a bearish phase, but this is also an opportunity for us to focus on developing AltcoinsTalks. Many changes have been implemented recently regarding the homepage structure or member account policies, and they need time to prove their value to the development of AltcoinsTalks.

It is very true that bull run comes with a positive breeze of new intakes. The hype, the price increase drive people in. But this is not peculiar to only Altcoinstalks forum. It happens to all cryptocurrency forums, so the increase we are anticipating is general. Then, what we should do is compare the decline in this forum to other forums, if the visitors of other forums are declining as well, we shouldn't bother much. But if the decline is only affecting this forum, it is a course for concern.

Meanwhile, without statistics, I cannot note the difference in engagement here because whenever I login in, I see almost the same active people if not for someone like yahoo, who I know has been irregular here.

I don't have specific statistical data on the activity of other crypto forums, so I can't conclude anything about the general situation of crypto forums. I can only subjectively assess the market and speculate on its impact on AltcoinsTalks. Honestly, I'm not interested in other forums.

We've seen AltcoinsTalks become more active when the market has experienced significant fluctuations, including both increases and decreases in BTC. Therefore, I believe that the same will happen again as investors repeat their behavior driven by greed and fear: they will seek information and participate more actively in discussions because they are concerned about their crypto accounts.
