Recently, it often happens that I get a notification about the karma limit and that it is necessary to wait 10 hours. Nothing would be strange, but a little while ago I came back after more than 10 hours out of the forum, the first thing I saw was Vod's post and I wanted to reward him with +karma. No matter, I got a message about the necessary waiting.
However, it seemed to me that the karma point was still added (from 9 to 10 in Vod's case) but I can't say that for sure.
Does this happen to anyone else or is it a bug on my end?

Yes, the same thing has happened to me for the last two days. I did not create a thread or ask the admin because I thought it would be fixed soon. I did not bother to report it because the karma was adding to the person. I started to face this yesterday or probably for the last two days. To be honest, I thought I double-clicked, which could end up giving me a warning. But since it's happened to you as well, that mean it's universal and admin may want to take a look. Sometimes we get confused if it's a issue or just our mistake :D

Ok, at least I know it's not up to me and that my hands aren't shaking. :D
Here, I just gave you + karma, and everything is as it should be, which means that the error does not always appear, but periodically.
-
, and everything is as it should be, which means that the error does not always appear, but periodically.
I just checked, I gave Karma to someone who I didn't give Karma in the last 10 hours still I got the error but the Karma increased when I refreshed the page so I guess the error is still there and should be fixed ASAP.
Edit;
I just gave you a karma and I knew I haven't given Karma in a while still I shown the error while karma increased+1 but then again I tried to repeat shown the same error but there's no increase in Karma so it's only the error message should be fixed since the cool off period is not affected due to this bug.

I just remembered the admin once announced possible changes in the karma system and the soon implementation. It is about making it visible how many + or - karma points a particular post has received. This problem may appear as a consequence of some changes.
Given that the karma system is still functional, I wouldn't worry too much.

Sounds like a double click of +karma button?
If most people experienced it probably admin is tweaking something in the backend at that time as i can't experience it now and all is well on my end.

I just tried again to send you a karma. It worked, but I am getting the error right now. This means the problem is still here, but it happens periodically and not every time. As examplens said, the admin is working on something related to karma. Since sending karma is also working, I won't bother much about it.
To be honest, I am curious if admin is going to implement something new because there have been a lot of request on public the karma logs or at least to public which posts received the karma. Or possibly he is not working on those things but it was just a minor error.
-
I almost created a thread, I'm glad I saw this one before
But I'm having the same issue with every user I tried to give a +Karma

I haven’t experienced this much. Maybe it’s time to continuously send karma. It might not be enough karma with the frequency that I am giving. I didn’t know this OP, thank you for sharing this.
Is this also connected to the level of your account?
-

Every user through the Sr. member rank has the possibility of sending karma points with only one limitation. You can send 1 (regardless of + or -) karma point to the same user once every 10 hours.
-
@examplens I tried right now to give you a +karma and it worked
You had 293 karma, now you have 294 and no errors at my side, I tried in a different PC (my work)
I'll try later in my house PC where problem occurred
-
Update
The warning message still pops up even when it's not supposed to while being intermittent and not consistent. I just sent Karma someone right now and I had this error but I didn't have this error yesterday. So this error has to be identified and resolved ASAP.
Anyone feel free to try me. ;D

Same issue again hehehe
It shows the error, but I refreshed the page and the +Karma went to the user correctly
I think this problem is due to admin trying to deploy that resource of Karma showing per post

I have experienced this consecutively to different users. I was trying to give some users karma because of their contributions yesterday and today, I saw the same thing. I clicked the Karma link, at first verification failed.
And I opened another page to check if I can give the person the Karma and I saw this again.
I was thinking, it is from the system and not from my end network of the first error message. Who has experienced it as well?

Yes I've also observed similar thing multiple times on my end when I try to give out Karma. Anyways I've been ignoring it since I thought it was just a minor glitch and the Karma eventually got added to the user's profile. At first I thought I had mistakenly double clicked on the [+ KARMA] button since that too could bring an error message like this because of the way the karma system runs.
My speculation is that it's either a minor bug that would be fixed on the end of the forum or probably it's a browser related issue. Nevertheless let's see what other users here have to say probably they may have experienced same thing.
-
The first image looks like you left that page open for a long time and didn’t do anything before you tried sending the karma. I’ve experienced it when I leave a page open and then try to make a post(I haven’t seen it yet for karma) after returning back to my system.
Did you by any chance leave that page open? Or it just happened as you were actively browsing the forum?
-

Normally I know that it is when the open the page for a long time, and when I want to quote someone, it happened as "season expired" but in this time, I was reading the comment and after reading I clicked the +karma and I saw that the season has expired. Okay I opened another page to give the person the karma then the second image message pop up.

It's some kind of bug that gives the error warning even when it's not supposed to do. FYI, it's been like this since OCT 5 and already there's a discussion about this error in the bug and Tech support section.
10 hours karma limit (https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?topic=324851.0)
And also this error occurs not consistently so it's kind of hard to tell whether it's resolved completely or not even if this error doesn't popup few times when you send karma.

Thanks for posting the link to the thread
That's right
I think it's a bug due to the admin trying to enter the karmas per post resource as requested many times before by users
-
...
My speculation is that it's either a minor bug that would be fixed on the end of the forum or probably it's a browser related issue. Nevertheless let's see what other users here have to say probably they may have experienced same thing.
Session error only occurs to me if i keep my tab open for long time then eventually click any of the karma button or click "Post" button (if i'm making new/edit post). This wont happen if im currently online then do those things. But if others experience the same, probably there is a bug related to this.

Thank you for the information and this is very useful for me.
Btw, I still remember for the past 1 week and I saw yesterday afternoon my karma was 28 but now my karma is 27, who can reduce my karma? Did I do something wrong in this forum? Where is my mistake?
-
Session error usually happens when the window is left open for too long but this time seems much longer than bitcointalk as I remember one time leaving the window open for over 3 hours without getting an error.
I sent you a +1 without any problems so maybe the issue has been resolved or it is related to trying to update the Karma system.
-

Well yeah anyone with the rank of above Sr. Rank can give positive or negative Karma and you received a -Karma recently which you can see this.
Which is most probably due to the one of the reason below.
When you will get Negative Karma:
Breaking the forum rules > read the rules here
Spamming your referral link or website
Plagiarism, shilling and shitposting
Being aggressive or rude to others
Ignoring advise given to you by mods
So try not to repeat any of these so you won't probably receive negative Karma anymore.

- Useless spamming or paraphrasing of what has already been written on the same topic.

The key word is "probably", because you can be the best member of the forum and not break any rules, and at the same time you can get negative karma. Some forum members use karma literally as some kind of like/unlike button - and negative karma is not given if you disagree with someone's opinion.
It is important to note that if you notice that someone regularly gives you negative karma, you can file a complaint and you can expect that the admin will check the logs and prevent those who misuse karma from using them.
@kai, friendly advice - refrain from unnecessary quotes, as is the case in your previous post - it really makes no sense and is completely unnecessary.

Thanks I received the karma but I don't know who sent it and since you said you game me +karma, I appreciate your love. Oh yes I normally see the season expired pop up message but the experience in this time was different from the previous ones. Well if everything is working now it is alright because that is what we want. We need a smooth running of the forum and not some bugs or site breakdown. It is not easy to maintain website.
Let me use this medium to say that I have a registered domain since last year December but because some extra curricula in my life I abandoned the domain and it is not easy to maintain and update bugs in a website. I am a learning website developer so to some extent I know how things work.

Snip
I wanted to create another thread for this new development today (just now) but since there are two existing threads on this course make me to come hear to complains. I was given +karma to hugeblack just now after reading his comment and I have not given any karma before as of today, and as I clicked the +karma on his profile, this the is the pop up message I received just now.
And as it is I don't know if he has received it or not. And I think I experienced this yesterday too but I forgot to mention in the thread I created. I think there are some bugs to fixed in the karma log.

This is from the tool created by PX-Z

The actual karma log isn't available for anyone other than admin and it will contain the detail of sender and receiver but in the image I posted you can only find the recipient.
-

Based on the karma log (https://pxzone.online/altt/karma-log), hugeblack did receieve +1 7 minutes before your posts, so it's safe to assume that they received the +karma.
The most obvious reason why this happens is due to the forum auto-refreshing the request. For example if the page is slow to load, by trying to load again then the error will occur even though the +karma is already sent. Either that or as someone else explained double clicking causes this. Given the karma is still sending ok, it's not much of an issue tbh even if inconvenient.
In the past when receiving these errors I've always taken it as confirmation that my karma has been sent, or otherwise that I am trying to re-give karma to someone with 10 hours, rather than assuming there is an issue with karma issuance.
I think this problem is due to admin trying to deploy that resource of Karma showing per post
As far as admin has said (https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?topic=324891.0), he has not attempted to implement this onto the forum yet, so is unlikely to be the cause.
@Agbe have merged your duplicate topic to here.

Based on the karma log (https://pxzone.online/altt/karma-log),
It seems someone is angry with most of the forum staff and some forum members as well. According to the karma logs, AB de Royse777 getting negative karma every 12 hours or so for the last two days. Probably someone is too angry with him. Some forum staff also received negative karma, including the global mod. This would have created a couple more interesting dramas if there were open karma logs for everyone. If I remember correctly, once, the admin said that the president or global mods may have access to karma logs in the future so they can help in case of abuse. I am curious if dragononcrypto will have a look if something is wrong or it's just my misunderstanding.

Will have a look, Sunday if karma is karma logs day after all :)
Looking at the most recent karma issued, it does look a little strange. Will check for any issuance targeting a specific user like AB as I see twice received on most recent.
Hopefully a user is just having a "one-off" negative karma spree but will see... thanks for the suggestion.

I also received a negative one a few days ago, but I didn't attach any importance to it because we have to take into account that such things can happen completely by accident. Now that I read that someone is obviously on the warpath and doing negative karma to everyone, I hope that the administration will detect him and deny him that privilege.

Exactly. Giving negative karma is allowed if the content is not inline with the previous discussion or in violation of the contents in discussion but it is not allowed when someone is on the warpath with another or because of misunderstanding and -Karma is frequently given. That is wrong. Though the two links are closed so one can mistakenly click on the -Karma instead of the +karma. AB de Royse777 is always on the target of many campaign and review participants who were not paid or removed from campaign. And I believed everyone in one time to the other has received it. But when is frequent then admin and presidents should investigate the person behind.

Getting a single negative karma is normal. Probably someone gave it by mistake. Or they probably did not like your post. But, if you continue to get negative karma from time to time and you don't remember writing such posts that may result from this, then there is something wrong, and someone is abusing their karma power.
In the case of AB de Royse777, he does not really write too many posts on the forum except for writing in his campaign threads. So, there is not much scope to judge his post's quality and send negative karma. I strongly believe it's just because someone does not like his decision and decides to abuse the power they have.
