Hello all.
I think the Social Network page could be improved.

Facebook is not something related to cryptocurrency. Why don't add more crypto related social network, such as Github, X and Telegram?

The altcoinstalks account that can be integrated with Facebook social media has been implemented here. Then OP gave a suggestion to add integration between Github, X and Telegram accounts to the altcoinstalks account. Sorry, I think I will avoid something like this, because I have reasons:
- If my Telegram, X, Github account is hacked, then the altcoinstalks account will be hacked too.
- All data on Telegram, X, Github will be stolen immediately if hacking occurs.
+ Makes it easier to log in with only 1 social media can be integrated with altcoinstalks.
I am more inclined to avoid this integration because I also avoid scary things if hacking occurs.
Note: my Telegram, X, Github and altcoinstalks social media accounts all have different passwords.

I think knowing how many accounts link their Facebook account to their account here will determine whether or not providing multiple ways to create an account is necessary. I think most of us will prefer to log in using email instead of linking our Facebook account, but if everyone is lazy and prefers that, adding X, telegram will be useful.

This is only an option for registering and logging in using existing SM accounts. Honestly, I would not use the forum in this way, a separate account intended for that is a better option in my opinion.
Also, registration through an SM account would mean that you use the same username on the forum as with SM, which would complicate things about teleporting users from other forums.
Also, many people use FB with their personal information, so they may not want to reveal it on an anonymous forum like this one.

Adding github and telegram would be nice because they are really other ways to reach most of the users.
Facebook is not. I don't even have an account there anymore lol

Well, this is what I meant since the beginning of reading this topic because I saw that there were a lot of anonymous people in this forum. It is likely that those who are already members of altcoinstalks do not want to link social media accounts such as Facebook or X to altcoinstalks accounts.
But I will also give advice if the Admin and Staff will add the connection feature and for social media that I think have good traffic right now are Instagram and TikTok.

The problem is that those networks are not crypto related in any way
It makes no sense to allow people here to link to accounts there. There are no links to TikTok or Instagram in thise forum posts, but three are several to X, GitHub, telegram, etc

This is just my suggestion, Admin and Staff can reject my suggestion.
Marketing or business expansion is free to come from anywhere as long as it does not violate the applicable rules of the forum. As far as I know in Indonesia, the social media that are currently rising are Instagram and Tiktok, especially Youtube has already discussed cryptocurrency.
I mean, maybe if one day they are influencers from Tiktok, Youtube, Instagram suggest and give FOMO about altcoinstalks and also give advice to create an account there because there are many good events on the altcoinstalks forum, then that means traffic from the altcoinstalks website will increase, isn't that right?
I will take an example like this:
Deddy Corbuzier Famous Indonesian Youtuber discusses crypto 1 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49_rf7ozdpU)
Deddy Corbuzier Famous Indonesian Youtuber discusses crypto 2 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49_rf7ozdpU)

Note: As far as I know, this topic was created for marketing and to increase traffic from the altcoinstalks website, so I suggest what has been written in this thread, Admin and Staff may reject my suggestion.

I think privacy is a different story here, there was a KYC service if you wanted to get some airdrops, and the first board on the main page talks about profits and referral links so there are probably a lot of lazy people who would prefer to log in via Facebook or X.
I don't recommend it but the number of people willing to provide their data for airdrops makes me expect the same behavior.

Oh that's definitely new, admin obviously read this topic and updated things. I'm certain those options weren't available before.
As for being able to log in with those credentials, that seems somewhat pointless. Even the ability to log in with Facebook is somewhat irrelevant.

This is never that difficult as bitcointalk is still stuck in 2011. Here if there is an easy change to be made it can be completed within a week, not ignored for a decade ;D

I think there is an historical reason why theymos doesn't want to change anything.
There is no reason why we shouldn't keep the profile page functional here. Facebook literally makes no sense... I would love to add my github
