I have another suggestion.
Would it be possible to make the senate board readable for everyone? But I only admin and senators would be able to post
I think this would give users a better idea about what senators are doing (if doing anything at all)
What do you think? Transparency is a Pilar of any democracy ;)

If someone doesn't have a say in it then there's no point making it open for public or it can lead to manipulation of the choices taken by senators due to pressure from the other members so it's better to be as it is.
To meet the transparency half way it might be a good idea just to summarise all in one thered about what's going on would be good without pressurising the senators and not to lead to any premature judgements.

I think that some things are not public for a reason, because if they were, they would cause too many unnecessary discussions, considering that it is never possible to please everyone. As far as I know, there is a board on BTT visible only to moderators/admins and other staff, so it is logical that there is something similar here as well.
My opinion is that the board should therefore remain private, or that it may be available only to those who meet certain conditions in terms of rank and +karma - although some would certainly interpret this as discrimination.

It would be possible yes, as this is exactly how the board used to be. There have in the past been polls users could vote in, but only senators could post in topics.

I'm not opposed to having it public again, I had previously suggested it to admin myself. But if I'm honest I don't think it would make that much difference either. It's more likely to encourage parallel topics to be opened in forum related in response to senate proposals in an attempt to influence discussions, whether that be a good thing or not.

It's similar here in that there is a mods section, a global mods section, and a presidents section; and only those with respective titles can see those sections.

People are not going to waste time just reading stuff if they can't reply anything.
Sure, it would be interesting to see what is going on in first few days, but I can't imagine spending time lurking in topics like that.
Instead of that maybe it's better to open discussion to other members for some important subject.

If such request or suggestion is granted, I wouldn't bother visiting the board at all. I will only visit the board if there's any notable change in the forum. I would visit the board to see how it was suggested and deliberated. I hold people responsibility by the type of opinion they bring to the table and it also enable me rate their IQ on proxy.

In a Political Society from a Democratic Setting, the decision makers are few and within the few there is another few again make the highest decision and those decisions are not for the public hearing but for action to run the government effectively. So with those experiences, I don't think it is good to publicise something which is meant for background discussion. Though I understand your point and it is for transparency and accountability and I think what the admin and his staff good with their administration works.

It is not necessary to make it readable for everyone. It is a specific board for senators and forum staff.
Sometimes, we are discussing something that the public don't need to know it. Not every topic should be discussed openly because it possibly brings confusion among forum members.
By the way, it will be useless if it is only readable but people can't reply on the topics. :-\

No, I don't think so. This idea won't bring a good impact both for senators and all members.

I created a new topic "Forum updates (https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?topic=325998.0)" in Forum related that includes senate proposals and such. It doesn't provide a lot of detail, but otherwise covers what the senate is upto, so can keep that updated in future. Ultimately it's not a lot of discussion, so I also don't see the benefit of all users reading this. Anything very important or concerning the community as a whole can simply be posting in public sections.
