This fight might have been fly under the radar for some of us here.

And we thought that Davis vs Loma is being talk behind curtain as per Bob Arum months ago. Maybe the negotiation fell apart or either one backs out of that big fight. Nevertheless, we will see Tank again in the ring. Or even Shakur Stevenson for that matter as they have been calling each other for the longest time.
If you look at several boxing forums though, as almost everyone hates to see this fight. Perhaps it was due to Lamont Roach not known for casual boxing fans and we can't blame them for that.
Initially, Roach is a 8:1 underdog. ;D

Is Gervonta now cherry picking opponent? he should have Loma or a rematch against Garcia or any worthy opponent to establish his legacy, Lamont is good but lacks the power and skills to beat Gervonta, Lamont is a heavy underdog here, he will just make Gevonta look good and he will score a knockout here, just like what Gervonta did to Martin.

Seems to me that he is being protected and they don't want Davis to lose because for sure his purse price might go down. Loma is the next fight that he should be really looking, but base on the news, Loma wanted to take the rest of the year.
Yeah, I forget to mentioned that Lamont Roach is a 130 lbs, so he is moving up in weight. And most of the time, average fighters can't bring their power when they move up, so just like the rest, I think Davis by knockout win again.

I haven’t seen a fight involving Lamont Roach yet, but based on the odds set by the sportsbooks, I believe Tank Davis is a sure winner. It seems like just another day at the office for him. With Lamont Roach’s KO percentage below 50%, I think Tank will easily overpower him and won’t respect his power.

We don't want to used the term sure winner but yes, I do agree that the chance of Davis to win here is huge as per the odds. It's just a matter of which round Lamont is going down here as I'm seeing and I think everyone will agree that this could be another knockout win for Tank Davis. But this is a cherry pick fight for him obviously, as Lamont is a 130 lbs as what we have seen. Next year though, this kind of fight for Tank should not be happening, he used at least pick his own size of fighter at 135 lbs or even a Loma fight is Loma is willing to fight again next year.

it would be profitable to just bet on which round Roach will fall. this is how Tank is sure to win though even for the non boxing fan, they know Tank is just cherry picking as its like he forget this man in the 130 so he just look back and pointed he wants to fight Roach this time.
he could have chosen Shakur or Loma but maybe this is cherry picking to finally meet the weight of Inoue to fight in 126 lbs. bigger fight than him fighting Loma or Shakur. or catch weight fight between Tank and Inoue.

As far as I know, Shakur is injured, he is supposedly had another fight but he has to withdraw because of the said injury. And Loma is getting older and could prefer to rest the majority of the year.
We still have to wait about more listing on this fight, but I think the KO odds might not be that big. And speaking of Inoue, next year he will be getting into 126 division. And it will be just 2 weight class from Tank Davis, and who knows, this proverbial fight can happen in the future, hehehe.

nothing left to present from boxing. but the popular KO artists and are willing fighters to fight as long as there is also money. the rest are just sitting on their ranks and looks for funding for fight to happen. and if there is no funds, they just sit back again.
its just unsure of the Arabs will support Inoue and Tank since those guys only likes watching big guys throwing punches.
but the Japanese will be watching small featherweight guys knocking each other. and they are both exciting, it will be worth watching regardless of how much the tickets will be. the people will sacrifice not eating the best meals just so they could pay Tank vs Inoue ticket.

You’re right; Arab audiences might prefer watching boxing in the heavier divisions, so bantamweight might not be as popular. If Tank Davis were to face an opponent like Terence Crawford, it’s likely that HE Turki would promote the fight, but only if both fighters agree to his terms. Japanese fight fans, on the other hand, are accustomed to seeing smaller fighters, which is why we enjoy those matches.

There's a chance that either Loma or Tank decided to withdraw from the fight. I don't know, but I have a feeling that it's Loma who withdrew from the negotiation. Correct with this one, but I think Garcia is banned already. Nevertheless, I don't think that Garcia will fight him either because he just got demolished when they fought with each other.
Lamont? Who?? As for cherry-picking, I don't think that it is the case, and I'm leaning towards the fact that nobody wants to face him... at least that's what I see. Nevertheless, this is an easy fight for him that's for sure.

I'm sure the Arabs already knows what these two boxers can do in the ring. but its up fopr Inoue to go up and make his intention clear to fight Tank. Tank will not go down just to fight Inoue; its possible that the two fighters will meet in the future; they are at the height of their careers, and they can catch weight if they decide they want each other.

Bookies should release the specials already because there's no way anyone would bet on Tank @1.05 ;D I'm waiting for the odds on how many rounds it would take him to finish the fight. It should go past 6 rounds or at least that's what I was hoping for.

The fight is still far so expect that bookies will just released the ML odds for this fight as of now. Other market/options will be released once the fight get nearer. If there is an option for "over 6.5 rounds" then i think i would go for that option.

Yes, Lamont might want to extend this fight as long as he can. Maybe he will really play good defense in the first 5 rounds. Although Tank Davis, has a good IQ, sometimes it take him around round 5 to figure his opponent and then adjust before securing a knockout win.
So let's see what will be the bookies odds for the over 6.5 round. Maybe it will be around 1.8 or higher, and if so, then it's really a good odd for us bettors as the ML doesn't attract us a bit.

I haven't check Stake or Sportsbet or our local bookies mate.
Yes, at 1.05 there is no value on that bet, might be better to skip it totally and look for more fights that is not as lopsided as this one.
So let's wait for the odds, it might be more appealing for that over 6.5 as they are not expecting Roach to last that long against the power of Tank Davis.

This fight will be explosive as both fighters are in the best form of their careers as the both fighters also successful defending their tittles earlier this year. It will be one of the best boxing matches to watch this year because this fight is between two champions. Tank Davis is the favorite going into the fight as he is yet to be defeated in his professional boxing career as he has 30 wins among which he has 28 knockout he is the best in the WBA weight category as no one has been able to defeat him it will be a miracle for Roach to defeat Davies .
Lamont Roach is also a good fighter one of the best in the super featherweight division a category defending his tittle early this year professionally he is one of the best as he 25 wins from 27 fight with one draw and one lose and he has 10 knockout. But there's concerns about this match holding due to a suitable place to host the fight, it's likely to be prosponed according to multiple sources

Currently announced bout between Tank Davis and Lamont Roach is going to be one of the most anticipated boxing events of this year as the competitors are young and eager to shine. Both have displayed tremendous resolve this year, Davis into the WBA level with an unblemished mark, Roach steady at the super featherweight division. The exceptional performer in the division is Davis, with 30 COS and great knockout strength, and Roach also has significant performances of victories in 27 fights from 25. Roach has been doing well for himself but Davis is definitely going to pose the biggest challenge and reveal the strengths of fighters to the fullest. This fight is more than the opportunity to defend their belts, it’s the proving ground for both of these champions, thus, the choice of the venue to be the best for the fans waiting.

On paper, this matchup heavily favors Tank Davis. While we can’t completely rule out the chance of an upset, it’s very slim given Tank Davis’s talent. Lamont Roach lacks the knockout power to change the tempo of the fight, as his record shows he’s not a knockout artist.
On the posssible postponement, i have not read an article about this that they have problem on the venue.

Exactly, I do not think that Tank Davis is going to lose this fight, unless he slacks on training and take Lamont lightly. That will be his biggest mistakes in his career if he did this. As for Lamont, he might be thinking that he will have a chance against Tank. We can give it to him, but we all know that is not going to happen.

I also try to research about the possibility of a postponement, but so far I haven't seen any sources yet. Maybe @Agbe can pointed us out to the source of this news? So that we can see if it true or just a rumor for now?

Just find the below article from Dan Rafael's post and it confirms the said postponement of the fight to January as per Tank Davis. The reason was not clear though but it maybe the venue i think.
WBA lightweight titlist Gervonta “Tank” Davis was supposed to make his sixth defense against Lamont Roach Jr., the WBA junior lightweight titleholder, on Dec. 14 at the Toyota Center in Houston.
However, multiple sources who would be involved in the event told Fight Freaks Unite that the fight will not happen this year. Even Davis himself said so.
Responding a message from Fight Freaks Unite asking if he could clarify the situation, Davis wrote, “January I’m hearing” for when the fight would happen.
After the WBA approved the bout in late September, both fighters announced the fight date and location on social media as did Premier Boxing Champions, which would have staged it as the main event of a Prime Video pay-per-view card.

Perhaps it didn't get a positive response from the boxing community that's why they are thinking about postponing the fight. And for us here, we wanted Tank to really get to fight big names but unfortunately, they are all not available, so in a sense, he needs to pick someone that he is willing to fight him and then agree with the money.
But it looks like getting Lamont Roach has raised a lot of eye-brows and yes, it could back fire bigtime on Tank. But we have seen elite fighters as well getting easy fights, but I guess they don't want to cut some slack on Tank because he has been really protecting his 0 for a long time and not facing elite and great boxers.

Thanks for this one, yeah, probably it's the venue so they will have to move it to next year. So it means that the fight is still a go in my opinion and not be totally a cancelled event.
And if I will have my way here, the fight should be held where Tank hails, or at least the city where he born as it could get a lot of traction if that is what they are afraid of because this fight doesn't have the hype for us boxing fans.

Most likely, that’s why they are postponing this fight. In my opinion, Tank Davis needs to face an elite opponent rather than just picking someone he prefers to fight. Protecting his undefeated record is a waste of his talent, which I believe is a poor strategy. Many great fighters have lost a few matches but still earned significant money because they fought the best in their divisions.
