Title: Does creating subsession (coin specific) really brings more traffic? From where?
Post by: bitmover on October 16, 2024, 01:54:13 PM
Recently Vod pointed out that the forum has too many sub sessions and this reduces traffic and posting, because people can't navigate here well enough.

I have seen many times the  argument that we have many sub sessions because it brings traffic related to those sessions (coins).

Is it really true? From where would this traffic come?

I just googled many different keywords in both google and bing, and altcoinstalk do not even appear in the first page. Try for yourself

I think we are losing usability of the forum for a reason which is not true.

I wonder how those search engines index the keywords, though. I personally think the current system is not that hard to navigate, but that's probably because I'm used to it. In fact, I feel like it's easier to navigate since I don't have to scroll or search if I want to discuss a token/coin. I don't know how it relates to traffic though. I think it's hard to make an isolated test environment to test this too.

Well, personally, I think having so many or less subsessions or sub-boards has nothing to do with the traffic on the forum. Traffic like we all should know is a result that comes from advertising.
And let me also mention that the possible reason why altcoinstalks didn't appear in the first pages of those search engines is possibly because this forum's SEO is weak, if there is a way we can improve the forum's Search engine optimization (which I believe there is and lies in the hands of the admin), that should help to bring this forum to the first pages of this search engines, and also improve the overall traffic on the forum.

So, in conclusion, what I said is that, less or more sub-boards have nothing to do with the traffic on this site, we can have less boards, and still there won't be enough traffic, while we can have more, and still there won't be enough traffic, traffic is what we can only have from making the forum popular become popular in lots of places.
