Whether Michael Saylor is just playing with words and his emotions, I am seeing something genuine with his plan to "donate his Bitcoin wealth, focusing on Bitcoin's role in future economies (https://cryptonews.com/news/michael-saylor-pledges-to-donate-bitcoin-wealth-to-humanity/)."
Or maybe I am just an optimist person who can take anyone's words at face value. Certainly, he got a lot of Bitcoin to spare for all of us. Maybe he is planning one day to be of great help to humanity by supporting projects and communities that are need of help in many parts of the world, thereby contributing something for the betterment of the people, the environment and the future.
Now, in case you are one of this man's circle of advisers, what would you tell him with his grand plan of one day serving humanity?

I saw the same thread in BTT and people are just thinking Saylor is overly hyping this bull market to sell to the world. If it helps people hold Thier BTC while the bull run continues then sure people will be happy to see him leave his coins behind.
Saying something like this could be interpreted like a suicide note ::)
I'm not sure if it's true that he has no wife and sons but it must be a lonely life.
-
We can only speculate as why he is going to do it. But we have seen billionaires though being a philanthropist like Bill and Melinda case who have pour billions of dollar in their foundation and yet we haven't heard that much about that news.
And so Michael Saylor might be just using the name of Bitcoin to promote, just saying. Or he is genuinely wanted to donate the profits that he will be getting since he has a lot of money invested on Bitcoin already and it could give him a good profit in this bull run.

Saylor Michael does not own all of MSTR / MicroStrategy shares. According to his SC 13G/A ownership disclosure form, Saylor reports that he owns 13.9 percent of the company. For more details about MSTR's owners, you can follow the links below.
https://www.marketscreener.com/quote/stock/MICROSTRATEGY-INCORPORATE-10105/company/

In short, he is an investor who owns less than 14%, so all he will think about is profit. There are those who are richer than him and have a record of charitable work, and despite that, there are still millions of hungry people around the world.
-
I do agree that he is not that rich as let's say compare to the world's billionaire. And yet those people with or without media, are helping humanity with their wealth.
And so with that, it seems that Michael Saylor is all for the clout of being a Bitcoin investor. Maybe he will donate, it's up to him, but I do not see him putting majority of that money to charity, in my opinion.
-
Who knows whether he's being sincere or not. But i think it's more important to discuss about who'll receive the Bitcoin donation and what'll the receiver do with the donation. The news you shared doesn't mention whether Saylor share his detailed plans.

Let's say Saylor give 1000 bitcoins to the poor, they will exchange bitcoins to local currency to buy essentials and rarely have the ability to wait for days or weeks. Giving them bitcoins may save them from starvation but it will not change their financial or investment life.
-
To prove he is sincere could start by giving half of his fortune now and then leave only half to be distributed after he dies! ;)
I'm getting tired of all these claims Saylor does all day just to keep himself in the spotlight, no matter how much hate BillGtes gets he is donating billions to different causes all year long without making such a fuss about it and without trying to get more money out of those PR stunts.
-
He can set up a foundation that will help humanity and use his Bitcoin, not just giving it to random people. If he is going to help humanity, then its better that he give it to deserving people, preferably from third world countries.
But its better to retain a small portion for himself he is still young and maybe he will adopt children who who will inherit his Bitcoin.
He will really make a lasting mark if he really does this.

I thought what he meant by 'leaving his coins to civilization' is that he wasn't going to find a way to pass it down to anyone and he also mentioned Satoshi is that podcast, and we all know Satoshi left his coins unspent, so that is what i understood by what he said. However, whatever his plans are, he does not really have to make it public.

if he really wanted to do this then he can just send his coins to the known burning address. but of course he will not do this but will keep it to Microstrategy.
since he made it public already then this is close to just promotion of the bull run cycle. he been doing this since the time he appeared to the public for Bitcoin. maybe another announcement will be made when the bear market starts. he could start by saying 'i was only joking'.
-
I respect the man for his positive and pro-Bitcoin stances, but I think Michael Saylor is exaggerating here, I don't know if he is being honest or if he has other goals, but it is clear that this is a fantasy far from reality.
There are many rich people who donate a lot of their money to the poor, but I do not expect any of them to donate all their wealth to the poor, if Saylor is as he says "I am a single man, I have no children" then he may donate all his wealth after his death, if he does that it will be a great humanitarian act that will raise the status of Bitcoin.
If he is honest in his words, he can write his will from now because no one knows the time of his death.

well yes he’s talking about when he’s gone and no longer with us here on earth so i believe he does actually plan on doing this he has a point what is he going to do with all that money if he’s no longer alive? he says he doesn’t have kids so it’s an easy decision but even if he has a family i am sure he has enough money to give to the world and his family
Now, in case you are one of this man's circle of advisers, what would you tell him with his grand plan of one day serving humanity?
his advisers are probably against this they would want to profit somehow from him even when he’s gone and giving away his assets for free wouldn’t benefit his advisers that much but they need to respect his decision
what i would tell him tho is that this is an impressive plan but he can already do this now that he’s alive at least that way he can still see how his projects end up to be

Few days ago I read a post on BTT that he is investing in projects built for or built on the BTC blockchain network but they said he don't appreciate the projects which are open source means which are decentralized and open source. he wants to invest in centralized projects only why? Don't know maybe as an investor the profit is more in the centralized nature of the projects but if he really wants to contribute back to the crypto community and besides him donating his money to the dev core team he won't do anything else.
I think he is just bluffing he won't just give up on his funds that easily without any personal benefit.

I also believe that it is nothing but PR, if he has truly taken this kind of decision, i doubt he will make it public, he would simply make it impossible for anyone to find his seed phrase when he is gone. I don't believe most things people say on the internet, there is usually a hidden motive to what they say.

Good point if he wants to donate and help the community how he can help in the first place and why he is advertising this. This is just a method to either hide his profits to manage the taxation or to manage high loss or profits. If he wants to help the community why he did not shared a proper plan and why he want to do that.
If he donates then he will donate in some good L2 projects being built on BTC blockchain that can bring him more returns otherwise a investors don't just donate his money to any other platform. he can charge new and authentic platforms for extra fee to rent them his BTC for some time he can make money by any way from his BTC if he only own them without any partner.

I may think of it that you're either being pessimistic about Michael or you don't get the brain behind all these, this is not his first appearance in public saying all manner of things concerning bitcoin and crypto, of which some of his words unknowingly to him had been trespassed by himself, one thing he always set on target is to engaged the public through the media men to take up his spoken words or action.

We don't know Saylor exact plan yet. Maybe he'll give all his BTC to BTC development organizations or charities, or maybe he'll burn his private key, or maybe he'll send it to the Genesis address.
Charity is a great thing and would be a huge PR win for anyone donating billions of $ worth of BTC. But personally, I hope Saylor finds a way to permanently lock up his BTC so it can never be moved. That would reduce the total supply of BTC and increase its scarcity, which would help drive the price up.
Of course, I wouldn't say no if Saylor wanted to send me his BTC. I promise I wouldn't let him down ^^

Yes, must of the things people say or do on the internet is just creating personal publicity and drawing additional followers for themselves especially on social networks like Twitter and Facebook.
I am very skeptic about pronouncement on social networks about people's gestures, many of them are just people seeking attentions and trying to be relevant.
Like you mentioned, if truly Micheal Saylor want to give his Bitcoin to humanity, it shouldn't make it a public hearing, It should have been kept out of public notice until when he is old and plans to retire from active service. This is my opinion.

I know lost BTC's reduce the total coins in circulation and makes everyone's coins slightly worth more, but it is not so consequential in my honest opinion. Instead of doing it this way, it is much better is Saylor donates his coins to charity, there are so many poor and homeless people everywhere and his coins can give relieve to some of them.
