With the festive season here and BTC around 71k, it seems like a prime time for some meme coins to shine in this market, so here’s a little interactive thread. What do you look for when scouting these coins? I’ll start with a few things I keep an eye on, along with examples:
- A large, active community and steady price trend (e.g., wif, popcat)
- A fresh narrative or storyline (e.g., Act1, Trump)
- KOL/cabal support (e.g., neiro/neirocto)
These are just a few of my go-to signals. What about you?

I have to admit that am not a big fan of memecoins though I know for sure that they got the big potential to make anyone (especially early investors) the chance to be rich and wealthy even at small capital or investment while also leaving many others with nothing or in other words while the potential rewards can be so good the chance of losing is also glaringly present. Now, in case I would look for a possible next big thing in the memecoin world, maybe I would look for one that is supported by popular and credible people especially those who already made their mark in the industry or maybe backed by platforms that we are already familiar with. Now, we have to take note that just like anything in this industries there is really no guarantee because even if positive signs can be telling us for a project to be a big success the market may eventually say NO.

Tbh I always love utilities. But I saw something that got me fired up. Someone flipped $100-$100k using memecoijs in a month. Damn. Looked like a dream😃😃😉. Maybe I'll need to bend a rules a little. But the risks are there..

As far as I know, this Meme coin seems to be a utility token (at this time), if in the past this Meme coin was probably only for Fun. For example, the DOGE coin, when it was first created I read many articles that DOGE was only for FUN but now this DOGE coin "seems" to have utility because many gambling platforms use DOGE coins for the games they present. For example, for Deposit and Withdraw, they are gambling platforms using DOGE coins. Isn't it obvious that this DOGE coin has utility?

Not interested in meme coins, maybe some people lurk because they want to have 10x profit from the memes they buy, but for me this is too risky even though the narrative is getting stronger so I will still avoid and will not be tempted.
I see so many influencers sharing their profits above 1000x it's just a sweetener and they won't share their huge losses.

For me that isn't that big of a fan when it comes to meme coins, the community alone is a big factor for me towards the success of the project.
We already know that community is a big factor when it comes to meme coin, and not only meme coin but all cryptocurrencies. Without a community supporting behind the project, there's a high chance that it will just be a dead project. For some reasons though, we've seen meme coin projects that doesn't even have a community at first, but along the way, they got more and more people supporting it until it came to a point where the community became huge.
Of course, always do your own research, and researching for how big or small the community behind the project is one of them. Always be careful when investing into meme coins because at the end of the day, we don't know when the project becomes a scam coin. :)

I totally agree that strong community is very important for cryptocurrency project to succeed especially for meme coins. Project can succeed or fail because of its community. Some meme coins became popular without community at first but to keep growing they need people supporting them.
So before investing it is crucial to research community like how many people are involved and how active they are and if they are genuine. We should also look at project goals and team honesty and also technology behind it and at the end how market is doing. Since there is risk of fake coins it is essential to be careful and do thorough research. This helps us make smart decisions and avoid potential problems.

- Most of those who don't like meme coins are those who have been in the crypto industry for a long time on this forum platform, although there are only a few who believe in meme coins. And I'm already one of those who somehow hunts meme coins that have potential.
Because I also believe that if you know in yourself that you can find potential meme coins, you will definitely be able to hit the jackpot in the long run, as long as you look at the market cap, build the community, and the daily volume it provides to the top exchanges where it is also listed. And should also be included in the top listing in the market.
