satoshi nakamoto released bitcoin’s white paper on oct 31 2008
today trump celebrates this anniversary
if we think about it, it’s crazy how bitcoin has evolved from what used to be just a mean of peer to peer exchange and now it is globally well known and is breaking through financial markets

what else can happen in the next 16 years?

I didn't hear that Trump is celebrating this anniversary, that's very good but are there any links to the news?
Anyway, 16 years have passed so quickly that it seems like it was just yesterday, a lot of development has happened in the history of Bitcoin since that day until now, there have been many bad times as well as good times but I think the best is yet to come.
Maybe in 10 years from now we will see Bitcoin spread across very large areas of the world and maybe there will be many governments that officially adopt Bitcoin. what I am sure of is that Bitcoin will not stop.

my bad! i forgot to add a link but here is what trump posted on his x account
“I would like to wish our great Bitcoiners a Happy 16th Anniversary of Satoshi’s White Paper,” Trump posted on Twitter, now known as X. “We will end Kamala’s war on crypto, & Bitcoin will be MADE IN THE USA! VOTE TRUMP! (https://finance.yahoo.com/news/trump-reconfirms-support-crypto-bitcoin-213730605.html)”

i also think that bitcoin will continue to spread all around the world we already have el salvador acknowledging bitcoin as a legal tender i am sure they will not be the last in the world to adopt bitcoin

Wow, in just 16 years, Bitcoin went from a very unknown and a very experimental digital asset even some calling it as just scam and will die months after to where it is now recognized even by Wall Street in the league of top stocks and gold...and even more, of course. Bitcoin just paved the way for the blockchain technology to be known all over the world and for the global market to recognize its great value to humanity. In 2009, the price of Bitcoin is literally zero and now it is hovering in the $70K zone...such an amazing journey has had been so colorful, excited and truly game-changing. So the question is: What can happen in the next 16 years of its existence? I am hooping that there will be more adoptions all over the world and for many governments to make it fully legal just like gold...and that it would already reached its biggest ATH at a million dollar price.
-
When thinking about that number of years it may seem like a long time, but remembering everything that has happened within the world of cryptocurrencies, it is actually very little time, at least that is the personal assessment I have, and I also think Bitcoin hasn't really "started" to take off yet. What will happen in the next 16 years is anyone's guess, but I do know that it will be frantic and that Bitcoin will go where we can't even imagine. As for Trump congratulating Bitcoiners, I prefer not to say anything, since I think it is just opportunism, and in this thread we don't talk about that.

I am fully agee with your excellent topic and comment. Bitcoin is one of the best profitable crypto in cryptocurrency market. But if we follow in 16 years ago, we can see that bitcoin price is also low level in cryptocurrency market. But if we follow in this time by bitcoin, we can see that bitcoin price is already $70k up. I also believe that gradually it’s price will increase day by day. So i think that in 2025 bitcoin price will hit $85k in cryptocurrency market. Because if we follow in cryptocurrency market, we saw that bitcoin stay in best position then others crypto. So i think that in this time bitcoin will be best for investment or hold for us.

I sincerely doubt that he wrote it personally, or that he has any idea what this is about - a man who looks confusedly at the QR code when they explain to him how to make a BTC transaction is not someone who cares about such things.
And what exactly does it mean that BTC will be made in the USA? Do people really want some kind of centralization in which only coins that will be mined and processed by US based miners will be valid?
-
Bitcoin wasn't only a successful crypto currency in my opinion, it actually was also simultaneously a breakthrough to digital era. Before the success of bitcoin yes a couple of other coins, payment options and projects were attempted however they actually failed at some point , most of them die to government restrictions and policies. However If you check closely, you will find out that it was actually after the success of bitcoin that the crypto ecosystem came to light.
Before bitcoin people were quite scared of a digital network and a decentralised network at that. Also I really don't like the idea of involving bitcoin with politics because of the fact that it's a decentralised network even if huge mining companies are in the US.

It's okay, thank you for sharing the link
This is good, although it seems like an election campaign against Kamala, who he describes as fighting Bitcoin, but I honestly did not expect Trump to celebrate Bitcoin's anniversary on his X account.
In any case, there are a few days left until the US elections, and we will wait to see the results of the elections and see what the future may hold for Bitcoin. Of course, we all hope for Trump and Bitcoin to win.

in 16 years, bitcoin has evolved into what we see it now
what else can happen in the next 16 years?
All that happened and that is happening now is all unexpected, from the time Satoshi created Bitcoin, so what will happen in the next 16 years is beyond our understanding, but I'm very positive that Bitcoin adoption will continue and will even get better.
Any and every industry can adopt and integrate Bitcoin and blockchain, so a lot of great things are going to happen in the next 16 years
What we need to do is keep doing what we have been doing since we first discovered Bitcoin.
-
Seeing Bitcoin in the next 16 years would be very expensive and I don't think an average investor can afford even .0001BTC if we are going to base it on what we have today or what we have within the past 16 years of Bitcoins existence. Though no one really have any idea what will be Bitcoins future but if Bitcoin will get the same path as before then it will be hard for me to acquire a portion of it depending on my budget and how much I want to buy.
-
It seems like it's been 16 years. This indicates that the development of the crypto world is moving that fast, Bitcoin is a pioneer, and makes all these changes happen. There are many pros and cons related to Bitcoin, even now, all of that is still happening. However, all of that does not obey people who have believed in Bitcoin to remain in that line, and we are very lucky and grateful to be in that part too.
And this time, we are also going through quite good market development, the time to the bullish era in 2025 is only a few months away. various positive news is starting to be blown. Trump, yes, currently a figure who is often associated with crypto, because he is one of the presidential candidates in the US election, this will also greatly affect the development of crypto prices after the election. we always hope that this will end well and much higher than our expectations of course.
-
If I can only see the future, I'd like to know that as well. Maybe the new generation of crypto investors will view BTC at $100K as a cheap investment? In terms of adoption for the next 16 years, I guess there's a higher likelihood that we'll see more news of regulation with more countries officially taxing crypto transactions.

We might see a faster transaction speed for Bitcoin (of course this comes at a cost).
We might see Bitcoin being by more merchants in the next 16 years.
We might see Bitcoin being accepted by ALL countries already and there will be no countries that are banning it anymore.
We might see Bitcoin being bought by more companies, and who knows, we might see more anti-Bitcoiners in the past turning into pro.
Worst case scenario is that we might not see Bitcoin in the next 16 years.
We don't know the future like others said here. I guess let's just enjoy the fact that a thing called Bitcoin was created, and let's just support it through using it in different ways that we wanted. :)
-
If I can only see the future, I'd like to know that as well. Maybe the new generation of crypto investors will view BTC at $100K as a cheap investment?
We cannot see the future, but we can somewhat try to predict what will happen considering what has already happened and considering that we know how much BTC can exist and that there is a new halving approximately every 4 years.
What we know is that today we have about 19.77 million BTC in circulation and that one day there will be a maximum of 21 million (actually slightly less than that for technical reasons) - and that we will reach 99% of all mined BTC by the end or beginning of the next decade.
This means that the influence of newly mined coins will be less and less, and we already feel that today, because with only about 450 BTC per day, miners cannot influence the price even if they sell everything they mine, given that the demand is several dozen times higher.
Therefore, one day the price of $100k for 1 BTC could be really cheap compared to the price that will be formed in the future years.
In terms of adoption for the next 16 years, I guess there's a higher likelihood that we'll see more news of regulation with more countries officially taxing crypto transactions.
The taxation of transactions is insane, the profit generated by the purchase/sale of cryptocurrencies can be taxed and this is quite normal today in all countries that have a logical tax collection system. However, I have no doubt that in the event that BTC becomes much more popular than today, some countries will resort to some measures to discourage people from paying with BTC, but p2p transactions will never be part of any regulation, of course if such transactions are sent from non - custodial wallets.

Some governments tried to tax even the transfers but they just led to people use offshore exchanges that doesn't comply with their policies or just p2p then the government can't find the transfer itself. Some regulators hate bitcoin that is why they are ready to make any policies that discourage it's use but no matter what they try it's proven that it can't be banned so the best thing they can do is to regulate with fair tax rates that will bring more taxation from the people to the government.
-
Of course, there will be a lot of things happening with Bitcoin in the future.
And we can see now how Bitcoin caused an uproar with its incredible rise and became the most successful digital currency today and remains decentralized.
16 years is still a pretty young age and this is still early for Bitcoin, we will see Bitcoin continue to grow in the future and Bitcoin is not fully mined.
I dream that Bitcoin will become a very important digital currency for the world in the future and it will be a real payment revolution and also integrated with increasingly advanced technology.
-
Yes, it is worth commendable for this past 16 years, it has a very tough beginning, even from the time of my entrance into the crypto community in 2016, Bitcoin has actually overcome very difficult challenges. As at 2017, there were so many people that predicted that Bitcoin was a bubble ready to burst, there are those that said Bitcoin was a ponsi scheme, while others sees Bitcoin as a scam etc.
Time has gone by and Bitcoin is still going stronger, braking barrier, hitting All time High at different seasons, i must say that 16 year of Bitcoin existences is worth celebrating, even as I read on social media that President Donald Trump has done few days ago.
Finally, I am optimistic that the next 16 years is going to be massive pumps, mass adoptions, innovations etc. Bitcoin will be on the moon!
-
what else can happen in the next 16 years?
If it reaches 16 years, BTC will form something extraordinary, where from being worthless to being valuable, at the beginning of the BTC lit, we know that it has no value, so it is often looked down on, but look, ten years of BTC can already make changes, what's more, 16 years from now, it can't be predicted, in my opinion, what is certain is that in my mind the price of BTC will definitely be higher than it is now
-
16 years is not a short time. There are many things that have happened to Bitcoin and the community during this 16 years. Starting from its price that has no value, to its development which is always accompanied by its ups and downs, various media that cover it, both good and bad news to FUD, and how complex people's views on Bitcoin are so far. This is quite complicated and this is indeed the process]. that's why we are in the current phase, where Bitcoin is much more appreciated, trusted, and also considered as something that is serious, and can provide a much more decent life. this is enough and we are progressing more than it.

I have read the article you sent and it seems to me that Donald Trump is in a position to promote himself for the US presidential election. With such a statement, Donald Trump certainly wants a lot of votes to attract attention and win to become the US President. Tuesday, November 5, 2024 Election United States President . I also checked on Google that the date is for the US Presidential election.
what else can happen in the next 16 years?
Bitcoin after 16 years is now very expensive and certainly if Bitcoin passes 16 years later with the assumption of 16 + 16 = 32 years, the price of Bitcoin will certainly feel very expensive. One day there will be many who trade and fight over Bitcoin and maybe for the smallest decimal fraction of Bitcoin is 1 Satoshi could be 1 dollar. This is only my opinion.

The story of Bitcoin comes as quite a journey from an internet idea to becoming a global phenomenon. In 16 years we have seen this innovation expand from its role as a strictly peer-2-peer exchange and now has significant role in the world financial markets.
Based on such a development, it is hardly possible to imagine what the further 16 years might offer. Bitcoin and blockchain technology could be even deeper entrenched in some of the sectors as other enhancements and full potentials that one could not even foresee occur.

I like your optimism about the future of Bitcoin, but I think it is too optimistic to see 1 Satoshi being worth $1 in just 16 years!!!
For 1 Satoshi to be worth $1, the price of one Bitcoin would have to reach $100 million because 1BTC = 100 million Satoshi.
There are many who believe this is possible, but I think this is too optimistic. But it can only happen in one case, when inflation occurs and the value of the dollar drops significantly.

you are right that it is too optimistic i mean i have no doubts that bitcoin will still rise but if in 16 years bitcoin was able to reach $70k~ approximately only then i don’t know if we can achieve $70k to be added on previous ath every cycle
for sure though that bitcoin will still rise especially with everyone adopting it and governments being interested

yeah it is optimistic but we never know anything could happen and we see that other countries are targeting usd and are pushing for dedollarizatin so maybe there is truth in this prediction

- Also the speed of time, it seems that bitcoin has only been created since 2008 and now it is 2024. Now the answer to your question is all I can say is that no one knows what will happen 16 years from now, because we don't even know if we will still be alive or not.
Maybe if the world doesn't collapse and we're still alive, every single Bitcoin will probably be expensive, and many lives will improve because of bitcoin and top cryptocurrencies for sure will still remain in this industry.

For 1 Satoshi to be worth $1, the price of one Bitcoin would have to reach $100 million because 1BTC = 100 million Satoshi.
That's right, I think it's too positive and it will definitely take quite a long time if 1 Satoshi can reach 1 dollars. Maybe it's better to be 0.1 dollars for 1 Satoshi if later 16 years from now, isn't that still reasonable?
Seeing from Google to confirm the current price of 1 BTC around $ 68,907 with a conversion of $ 0.1 get a price of 0.00000150 Satoshi. Do you agree if 16 years later from now on the price of 1 Satoshi can be the same as 0.1 dollar?
There are many who believe this is possible, but I think this is too optimistic. But it can only happen in one case, when inflation occurs and the value of the dollar drops significantly.
I also seemed to have added wrong, instead of I will write 0.1 dollars for 1 satoshi but instead wrote 1 dollar and it seems like I was in a hurry to do a post without having to "Preview" my post first that will be made. But basically I will continue to be optimistic for the price of Bitcoin will definitely rise because of the limited Bitcoin supply factor.

Yes, $ 0.1 looks acceptable for more than $ 1, but it remains high as well, because the price of $ 0.1 per satoshi means that Bitcoin equals 10 million dollars and this is also high in my opinion, it is difficult for Bitcoin to reach this number within 16 years from now.
According to my estimation, bitcoin can reach $ 1-3 million at the latest, some experts believe that the price of bitcoin can achieve it by one million dollars by 2030, while others believe that it will achieve $ 2.9 million by 2050.

Alot has happened since the past 16 years Bitcoin was created. Lots of problems solved, claims clarified and myths defeated. I believe that in the next 16 years, Bitcoin will advance even more and develop on areas that need to be developed. One of the areas I am very positive about is the issue of bitcoin mining energy consumption.
By 2040 or even before we get to that year, lots of miners must have migrated to a renewable energy source and there will no longer be complaints on this issue. By them almost all the 21 million bitcoins must have been mined which means the energy needs will reduce also.

If only we know how Bitcoin will be today, some of us would have trade our life for it but we absolutely know nothing and again, most of us that are advocating for Bitcoin today as maximalist were in another dimension of life doing one or two things. I was basically focus on my studies and had no idea about the existence of Bitcoin.
If anyone says they know what is going to happen in the next 16 years they are absolutely lying, they don't know because nobody knows what exactly the faith of Bitcoin. The only thing we can do is to be optimistic about the future and hope the way the way some political leaders are using Bitcoin to campaign, they one day allow it do it's purpose.

They actually succeeded with their plans in implementing tax but only in local exchanges everytime we transact withdrawals with our Bitcoin and other crypto. Here in my country those exchanges that does not comply will surely be banned and in this regard Binance is on the list together with other foreign crypto exchanges but still they are on it's never ending talking stage and Binance is still kicking as of this time I just don't understand why some say the feel something fishy this time.
-
what else can happen in the next 16 years?
We can not really tell what will happen in the next coming 16years just as some sceptical people couldn't tell what is currently happening today (16years later). The most important thing is that we are currently part of today's success, which means that we will certainly be part of what's coming in the next 16years, and we all hope that it ends up good. 16years from now seem to be a very long time, which IMO, it's very difficult to give predictions, but the next 2-5 years seems very realistic to predict, and I believe Bitcoin might have hit a massive adoption rate, but there might be some few changes in tx fees and other things.

In this 16 years A revolution happened for Bitcoin. After start Bitcoin price $0.10 to $73k+ Only 16 years has been passed. Few years ago Bitcoin was unpopular and now Bitcoin is huge popular and i think most of the people of world are know Bitcoin. Now a days Bitcoin is well-known.
And gradually Bitcoin's popularity increasing. Huge people taken Bitcoin as earning source. I think within short time Bitcoin will be most popular and most uses currency in world economy. Today'Bitcoins marketcap $1.3T.
-
In the next 16 years is a very long time from now that bitcoin would have witnessed about four halving events from now. It is very unlikely we know what will be of bitcoin by that time, but we remain optimistic that the resultant of it remains that it’ll be a very strong currency we can hold on to forever. The bitcoin market is very much expanding and by that time the adoption of bitcoin will most have gotten more interest which will make the currency more stronger and more attractive to use by all. For Trump to have made some speech about the bitcoin white paper and also celebrates its anniversary, it is definitely going to be a time that we’ll see bitcoin price witnessing some changes as a result of the election that’s going to happen soon.

1. if 1 BTC = 100.000.000 USD is 1 Satoshi = 1 USD
2. if 1 BTC = 10.000.000 USD is 1 Satoshi = 0.1 USD
3. if 1 BTC = 1.000.000 USD is 1 Satoshi = 0.01 USD
This is a calculation that is listed in a table, isn't your thinking like the table above?
According to my estimation, bitcoin can reach $ 1-3 million at the latest, some experts believe that the price of bitcoin can achieve it by one million dollars by 2030, while others believe that it will achieve $ 2.9 million by 2050.

Of course, there will be a lot of people's hopes for Bitcoin in the future, but we also shouldn't expect too much for something that is still uncertain... just hold it if you still believe in Bitcoin for the next few decades... what needs to be remembered is that there are still many people who want Bitcoin to survive, even for ETF price matters, it can be a guarantee that you will not lose by holding BTC for a long time.
Knowing the opportunities must also be accompanied by knowing the risks... don't let us be too FOMO on Bitcoin to the point of going all in, that is not justified. Because we could see something unexpected in the future.

despite the high prices of bitcoin i am trying my best to not succumb into it as i plan on holding for longer even if i do end up selling a portion of what i hold once the bull run peaks, i will still make sure to buy more during the bear cycle we do not know what could be the price of bitcoin specifically in the future but i think it would remain secure and safe to hold your money in

i second that despite the positive possibilities of bitcoin we should remain unemotional and logical we do not want to rush into things we are not yet ready for just buy the amount you can afford right now and build up to it

today trump celebrates this anniversary
Is there any thing to back up this post about Trump celebrating bitcoin, as I know he is only giving positive waves to it than calling it celebration. Though there are more chances that he may legalized bitcoin if he turns out to win again as the US president.

I think adoption would take place, and it would be mostly used as money to spend on most of the places and lots of companies will start accepting bitcoin, as a matter of fact bitcoin will be used as a regular money for online payment.

I checked it on Benzinga website and I found Bitcoin price neatly arranged. But unfortunately it seems you inserted an image from www.talkimg.com and strangely in my browser the image is not visible. I have used Tor , Mozilla Firefox , Opera and Google browser to see it but still not visible.
Thanks for alerting me, I didn't notice this mistake I copied the link correctly but it seems that the page address has changed or I don't know what happened but this is the correct link:

As for the site https://www.talkimg.com/ it seems that there is a temporary failure in the site, the site does not open so the image does not appear, but the link is correct:

I think a website like Benzinga Dot Com will not have any mistakes because they must have a Quality Control team that is experienced in launching online media articles. But it's okay because they also immediately provide the correct information as you have provided the new link above.

I found information in the picture that in 2025 the price of Bitcoin will reach 84,200 USD and I think that value is very close because the current price of Bitcoin is only around 15,000 USD (currently Bitcoin is around 68-70k USD). In your opinion, is the target value of Bitcoin around 84,200 USD still rational to achieve in 2025?
