In the crypto market, we see various calibre of assets created for reasons best known to it's project team which may likely succeed to get to the moon, gain investors trust and wide range popularity.
Some end up being unsuccessful as a result of challenges faced by the project and it's team in different ways.
But in all, we see project teams create tokens for some reasons mostly displayed on their website. But talking about memecoins.... They tend to have a single reason. And new memecoins keep storming the Crypto market.
With my little research on these memecoins, they are created just for fun and these fun tokens tend to win high trust of investors having a high marketcap with large volume.
But my question is "Apart from fun, does memecoins have any other reason for it's existence"?

the single reason is memes.
it actually started as a joke where people will create a token out of a meme probably as something to just laugh at until it started getting profits and nowadays the main reason becomes profiting from it the purpose comes first which is: to profit before they will pick a meme to center their project around
But my question is "Apart from fun, does memecoins have any other reason for it's existence"?
i already said it’s for profit but it can also be for a community to use and create a stronger bond and a system complete even with currencies

From the beginning memes are created for funs, jokes, and happiness, as time goes on, they are now being launched on the markets, and the aim of making profits has surfaced. Many people on the crypto economy has now found memecoins as the fastest means to earn profit because it has attracted huge interest from investors.
Dogecoin, the first memecoin became a big attraction to big name like Elon Musk which also attracted more investors, and today, memecoins has created a lot of hype and massive trading volumes on different exchanges which can't be ignore.

I read it somewhere that altcoins are ment to take the BTC out of your hands and through you using it to buy altcoins. And memecoins also exist to take those altcoins like ETH from your hands when you buy SHIB or PEPE.
It may not be thru but you could do the other way also like when you profit from altcoins in the bull season then you can use them to buy BTC as well.

Memecoins don't have a utility, it's just for fun and the growing number of meme enthusiasts has led to a lot of memes on the market.
With shortcuts to riches do exist but most of them fail to multiply in this memecoin, just like gambling.
Memecoin is strong because of the large community, the attraction is the same, therefore memecoin will not fade because it will continue to be in demand.

Yes, meme coins usually have no utility. As long as they can hype, they will succeed in making big profits. But for the long term, this is why it is usually very difficult to happen. Yes, because there is no quality, no utility. Usually for memes, it is only used for coins on the platform, it's just that for use in others, it has not been implemented
people rely on FOMO to reap more profits, from other victims who also just follow suit like that. that's why meme coins are always risky and even the risk is very high because when it's too late to TP, then what will happen next is losing the moment to TP and in the end will actually feel a certain loss on the coin.
-
As the name implies meme is always meme and nothing can be changed from it, even though it's painted and sugarcoated we should always know that it's same meme, therefore when investing on memecoin we shouldn't be carried away because of what name they gave to the project. Meme coin is designed for fun purpose just like stickers.
-
Nah, memecoins are not just for fun anymore. Using some dogs, cats, or other animals they could think of in the future as branding doesn't hide the fact that it's already for profit making. I doubt anyone who buys these tokens still thinks otherwise.

It seems that's what the creators of Meme coins want because their main goal is to make a profit. Although the result may be that the price of the Meme coin they created will become a Dead Coin, the good possibility is that the Meme coin will increase in price as many people buy it from various communities.
I also noticed lately that the creators of Meme coins are now more inclined to Privacy and their identities are unknown, if I'm not mistaken, DOGE's creator is known, while Pepe, Shiba, or current Meme coins like DOGS, HMSTR are all Anonymous. This proves that they are looking for profit because their profits from the Meme coins will not be traced or known.

I’m not a huge memecoin fan, but I’m not against them either. DOGE was created as a fun experiment, but it exceeded all expectations. Its success sparked the memecoin trend, which has grown into a powerful force in crypto today.
Memecoins have their fair share of haters, but they’ve also made the crypto market more appealing and accessible to new investors. They’ve kept the market lively, even during crypto winters. Shiba Inu started as a memecoin project, but they’re now expanding into DeFi to better serve their users.
DOGE, in particular, has gained the support of Elon Musk for the X-ecosystem. It's now a legitimate payment method and has the potential for significant growth in the future.

Fundamentally, meme coins is surely for fun only. This coin has no strong reason to last a long time but the community makes them changed. Since there are people who want to buy those meme coins, they can be tradable in the markets. Some meme coins also can last for few years and they have big market caps. However, we must be aware of the basic matter about those meme coins. They are actually for fun and have weak reason to exist. So, whatever the meme coins, they have no clear future! Be careful if we want to invest money in meme coins, especially if we are holding for years.

But my question is "Apart from fun, does memecoins have any other reason for it's existence"?
I haven't found any memecoin having usecase rather I feel flabbergasted each time some of those memecoins having insane prices. For example, look at POPCAT, it has price of $1.29 dollars at the moment, for what?
One thing though, I do use dogecoin for it's cheap transfers, but meme tokens that are created on any chain (Solana, TON, ETH) are epitome of uselessness.

Quite funny phrase there, I guess since comments from others express the sole purpose is just for fun...
Other than that, to be traded upon seeing it's emergence in the market and comprehending it's ability to create profits for users.
So they may not be completely useless..
Since the likes of Doge, PEPE, FLOKI etc being the top memecoins with appreciative volume and marketcap persuading users to invest on them and also leading way for traders to scalp out profits.
So I can vividly say they ain't completely useless.

I suppose that when memecoins were born the initial purpose was simply that, memes, just for fun. But I think over the years we have all witnessed how they have become pure pumps and dumps. Although there are users who have made a lot of money with memecoins, especially (at least that is my opinion) focused on capturing the funds of less experienced users who are approaching cryptocurrencies for the first time with the aim of becoming millionaires in a very short time. But I think memecoins completely lost their essence when the big heavyweights came into play.

It makes sense, for now, the presence or creation of meme coins is not for its main purpose, namely memes for fun. but this has become a very tempting business field for some parties, especially those who are developers, influencers who get endorsements or affiliates, and several other parties who are able to profit from the pump and dump meme coins system shortly after the meme coins are listed on certain exchanges. and this happens many times, even though many people already know this, meme coins are still targeted, especially for newcomers who are potential victims of the FOMO coins.

I totally agree with you here because this Meme coin was only created for Fun, whatever it is, everything is just for Fun. For example:
-Name : Dog, Hamster, Skull, Monkey, Cat, Shark, Caterpillar etc.
-Symbol: DOGE, CATS, APE, Skull with a striking pattern type.
-Supply : Very much, even up to hundreds of trillions.
And it's true that the "community" that changes all the prices of this Meme coin, maybe I didn't know from the beginning the DOGE coin or whatever the price of the DOGE coin went up to above $0.1 but I saw this DOGE coin on Coinmarketcap whose chart at the beginning of the first listing was very minimal marketcap and very small. But now I see the graph, the marketcap of this DOGE coin is up to billions of USD, and again the community that changed all that.

For the developers to make money in the shortest amount of time possible.
Wait it's not only the developers, but for some investors as well.
Whatever the case is, meme coins are still investments and what's the main reason why do we invest into these coins? To make money, right? Meme coins are being created for the sake of making money. Of course, it's not all making money because we know that there are some who are losing money from it as well, and this is the reason why meme coins are very risky investment especially those low market cap ones. Always, always do your own research when you're investing into these meme coins and always invest what you can afford to lose.

But my question is "Apart from fun, does memecoins have any other reason for it's existence"?
Speculation... well what else are people looking for besides what you said and the benefits of increasing cryptocurrency prices? We all understand here that the existence of cryptocurrency has the potential to generate profits... and usually someone who aims to get income from memecoins, they will rely on luck because of pump and dump...
-
But my question is "Apart from fun, does memecoins have any other reason for it's existence"?
Memecoins are supposed to be the entertainment side of the cryptocurrency industry and yes it can be akin to fun while building a big community that can carry them towards the top. And just like Hollywood, aside from making us entertained in many ways than one, one big aspect is to make big money. And I think this is so true with the memecoins...they are here not to offer new innovations as many of them as just "me-too" types or nothing new really...but give people to print some money, that is if a memecoin will make it as this field is getting to be so competitive everyday with more new memecoins on the offing and many of them will not see the light of the day. Memecoins = fun and money.

Meme coins are trust-based; that's the only thing that they are selling to investors, that's the only reason they are existing in the market, Once the whales who invested in a coin losses its trust, the meme will lose its value, so its better to invest on coins with use case where the community are the one that is going to

...I already said it’s for profit but it can also be for a community to use and create a stronger bond and a system complete even with currencies...
People who are into memecoin investing are coming into big communities all because of the main reason: money. Yes, for profits, first and foremost and they would never bother to become a part of any community at all without this main reason. the problem in many cases is that many memecoins are actually not introducing anything at all...no innovations...nothing new and just using hypes to get the attention of the prospective investors and hodlers. Well, they are not using my money so we should not disturb their business.

If you say all that, actually the reason we are in the crypto space is for money and profit, so that is a reason that I think does not need to be questioned anymore.
However, what I also see from this memecoin is because they see the increase in the price of memecoin very rapidly if we are in the right memecoin. But that is also comparable to the very big risk too.

I have seen some of my acquaintances who are very attracted to meme coins. Because they believe that it is possible to get high returns if they invest in such coins. I haven't seen them very interested in the other coins. Some of them got significant returns by investing in meme coins during the last bull run. Meme coin is not bad but the risk here is high. If the investment fails then the possibility of losing money increases and if there is a good investment it is possible to get multiple returns in a quick time. People are more attracted to meme coins mainly because of getting more profit in a faster time.

You cant blame people on not to be that not attracted to meme coins on which we know that this could potentially give out that kind of opportunity into someone who do make out some
huge amount of money or profits if you do able to hit up the right spot but of course this will really be that requiring up that extreme luck because not all meme coins do really go to the moon.
This is why it will really be that looks like on being that a lottery on which if you do able ot hit up the right spot then you will definitely be having that kind of life changing
situation on which meme coins could really be able to give out.

I also see that many people finally get to know crypto because of the existence of memecoin. We know that when memecoin is hyped, the hype will be extraordinary and it will spread everywhere, even someone who doesn't know crypto at all will eventually find out.
Well, some people end up really serious about learning crypto and some just want to know. So indirectly memecoin also has a role, yes, although sometimes there is a bad side too, because some people who know crypto because of memecoin and they lose, they will consider crypto as a scam.
-
- If there are many who are still making meme coins in the time we are facing right now, it is because it is very simple and it is to get profit in crypto. And they saw that by making their own meme coin, they could get it easily, as long as they also had a cruel plan to achieve the target fund that they wanted to get.
Especially with other blockchains, people who want to make their own meme coins in this field are very cheap to spend; sometimes even I can make my own meme coins that I can spend cheaply, so the only problem is I still can't think of a good strategy to make a lot of money here.
-
The profits to make in the short run, that's the reason why most people invest in memecoin, and after this bull run, many of time would vanish into tiny air because not everyone would want to invest in them and plans to hodl them for a long term since they aim for investing in them is for the short term profits they give.
Maybe in the bull run, we are to see around 2029, another set of memecoin will be invoked, leaving the old memecoins to die off from the market because their hype has all gone
-
Memecoin maybe was intended for those who are high profit making and high risk takers to have an avenue to display all their potentials in making more money or loosing it the more, ut if we are not having htat thicker skin that could take much risk, then we may have to avoid all these, except we are more experienced in it, moreover, memecoins also serve as an opportunity for both the developers and investors to have a wider range to the possibility of making it in the crypto market.

- I would agree that meme coins will still be the investment choice of our crypto community here, even if some say that shit coins are still an investment, I totally agree with what you mentioned mate.
That's why others always say always do your own research because there is no one to blame but ourselves when, for example,
the results of our investment here are not good.
