Tokens newly listed on CEX tends to appreciate in price rising above it's listing price by x2, x3, x10 or even higher as the case may be.... While others (a few) depreciate even below it's listing price on the same day of listing.
These coins tends to have it's separate trend, not being affected by BTC influence, with it's moving trend highly focused on price mechanism of demand and supply.
Though I haven't venture into trading these new coins, I only sell off those I obtain from airdrops and giveaway.
I would love to know from traders who has more knowledge, is it advisable to go long or short on these newly listed tokens... Or to HODL as the case may be?????
I created this topic to get more insights on placing trades on newly listed tokens and I'll appreciate your thoughts.

New coins are very risky. You may lose your money or gain. Many of them is still following bitcoin trend but not bitcoin price. Example is during bear market, you will notice that many of the coins will be listed and they will start to fall. But see this time, many coins that are listed are increasing in price after they are listed.
But you should know that they coins are very risky. You included it in your post that the coins can go up 2 to 10 times are more. So it can also go down. They are very risky like you are gambling. Use small amount of money.

Of course the market mechanism that determines the price of the highily volatile Alt Coins are not tied on the market strengths of Bitcoin.
Those new coins derives its increase or decrease potentials on market hypes and can be boosten by the developers too.
It is very confusing to detect the energymatic veins by which those coins acquires their values that is why it is good to make research before Investing in any of them so that you don't lost your funds.

You don't need to stressed yourself over newly listed altcoin because most of them are launched with the sole purpose of utilizing the market trending since we are already in bull run, and during bull run people tends to venture into projects to cash out big time during the bull run. But don't be surprised that most people doesn't last while some are only hype of the bull run to let investors sink their hand earned money into their projects. To me what I will advise you is that after take 1.5x sell and take your capital then you can leave the profits to keep running maybe if the market soar more than you can some part again.

It's better to avoid new coins because it's hard for you to know the one that will last long and bring profit. Most of them were created to scam investors who are greedy and believe they can hit it big with these shitcoins. We are in the bull season and that is why you see these new coins in the market because the season will favor them but after that, many of them will not fall and might not rise again.

Well to an extent I believe it's quite safe to say the whole thing is a mix of distrust and schemes. Many of these coins are usually over hyped by their big investors often referred to as whales. However the actual price is something that usually surfaces after a couple minutes if launch. Infact it very common with most of these Airdrop coins and tokens. Sometimes they often give these tokens or coins and enormous over hype in their premarket price.
The fact is many people who do these Airdrops usually don't have any sole intent of Hodling the coins or tokens after launch simply because deep down they know they'll run into loss since price will definitely collapse shortly after the launch.
-
If it is a new coin listed, I will not hesitate to sell it as soon as possible once it has a price, or wait for a few hours to wait for the coin to really be hyped and experience an increase. and if it has gone up, just sell it, why wait for the price movement or what else. but this will really depend on each individual. but usually it is like that, will not let go of the chances that are so attached just like that, the point is if there is an essence of new coins then it will be much better to sell it back before the price drops to cover the backlash and does not return to the same price as f.

As far as I know the power of a coin lies in its community, so when the community has strong purchasing power, it would be better to hold it for a while... and holding new coins does not need to be done for a long time, because usually it will experience a fairly deep correction because maybe the dump effect from mass sales from airdrop participants...
So, the strategy for selling maximum airdrop tokens is, adjusted to the existing community hype... after all, getting it for free will still be profitable as long as you can sell it at any price, right? You shouldn't be angry when you fail to sell at the top.

When a token or coin is newly listed on exchanges like that, of course you will feel a little bit about it, and usually you should only do it short-term, don't invest a large amount right away, it's better just a small sum first, and first observe whether there is demand or not really.
Then you should also find out or research first, find out if it has enough liquidity, because if the liquidity is low, don't buy, because your fund will just be stuck
there for sure in the end.

When considering making an investment on a newly introduced coin, you will have to understand that they often fall more than they rises, secondly, what determines either of this as well depends on the developers of such coin or token, some will manage to rise after launch and then fall speedily and sporadically thereafter, while some will only be rising or falling immediately after their launch when investors are dumping it.
-
New tokens are very risky because no one can guarantee how well they will do in a competitive market. And new coins are always scams, so long-term investment should not be made here. Invest in new coins as per the market conditions and actively monitor them and sell them as soon as possible to exit with profit. If you want to invest in them for long term then it will be very risky. So I don't think you should ever do it unless you have the capacity to take big risks. But if you have the capacity to take big risks then you can. But normally short-term investments should be made in new tokens

If they often fall more than they rise... That simply means as a trader you could realize much profit by placing trades on a short position if I may get you correctly... Because these coins are out there to be traded and one also has to develop the strategy of trading to scalp out some profits within a particular duration of time.
Though there is always a fear in the speculation of price since probability of up or down trend can't be certain.
But as you just quoted, down trend are mostly experienced by new tokens which simply implies that between a day or two, if one place a short position on trades, you can realize some profit....
Stating that newly listed tokens are good for shorting....
Thanks for your opinion.

New tokens indeed have large volatility and large risk, and sometimes with large fluctuation of price does require us to be wary and do more thinking. In the case of short term investment, the open and close market approach with some risks will have its profits opened.
But in the long run the risk will be much higher, and it is appropriate only if the participant is prepared for considerable losses. Buying tokens can be profitable and this step is not always right and depends on our ability to understand the risks we are going to take.

Obviously, newly listed token poses some risk except that when it is listed on CEX exchanges, it is also listed on margin and future trading options. Once a new coins is listed on CEX exchanges, many of them are equally listed on margin and future trading options allmost immediately, and it becomes an open opportunity for entering a long or short positions.
Again, it of note that many new coins that are listed on other trading options are more likely to perform better than coins which are not listed on the margins or future trading options.
As a trader I focus on new coins/token that has spot, margin and future trading options.

New coins listed on exchanges will usually experience a decrease in price due to the large number of people selling from airdrop members, but this will only experience a temporary decrease. but let's first look at the quality, technology and development of these coins. If the technology advances in the future, this will make the price rise and of course investors will not sell their coins, in fact they will buy more, thus trying to stabilize the market price.

It is very true, because the truth is that things that have to do with crypto there are always many who try to fish in troubled waters, as they do in my town, so in view of this, I don't know if you remember the times of the NFT Games, in which anyone did or created a smart contract and they already had a token or currency, so in this sense things went wrong for many investors, who invested and lost a lot of money, and that was something that was disastrous, technologies that do not have supervision or projects end up scamming people, and that is something very distrustful, I do not trust recently new projects with low capitalization and low rewards.

You should be very careful with newly listed coins because they are very volatile and tend to drop shortly after listing because all the participants who got free airdrops will start selling immediately after listing to get the highest profit.
From my experience I advise you to sell immediately at the highest rise because it will most likely start to drop after that, but if you like adventure you can hold it for the long term as in rare cases it can rise many times.

If there is a chance that it's price will go higher because it's supported by big community and listed on binance for example, I think it's worth waiting the peak of the cycle.
Let's say the GRASS token that was listed and pumped already, I think I would wait for the bull run until it comes and will sell them on ATH.
