Hello everyone, we are in the Christmas season and there are a lot of free stuff and discounted things around, which is one thing I love the most about this festive season. Speaking of discounts, I have a question for the cryptocurrency enthusiasts. As a newcomer to the crypto space this year, I'm still learning about the space. Recently, I stumbled upon an opportunity to participate in a prize pool, where participants can share 3025 USDT airdrops.
After conducting some research, I found that the event is running until early January. My question is: is this opportunity legitimate? I'd appreciate any insights or advice from experienced crypto enthusiasts. Thank you!

Which service, protocol or website are you talking about?
I think you forgot, and without that information there's no way of knowing if it's legitimate or not hehehe
Is it a gambling website?
-
Yeah, it's better to tell us which platform is offering that to verify because both legit and scam developers/owners offer those things. While it's true that it's a season of discounts and giveaways, it's also a season for scammers to fool every newbies in the space.
-
You have to give us more information about this, so we can understand if it is real or not. But until then, you should be careful, take note that if the platform requires you to make any deposit first or anything like that, it is a scam. If you also win anything and you are required to deposit before you can withdraw, it is also a scam. If the platform requires you to connect your wallet to any website or enter your seed phrase online, it is also a scam.

About the question of discounts, of course it will be depending the website, ask their cs and/or read the terms of discount promo.
About the website you're talking i'll be wary about it so make do more research about it to avoid getting slap on your face sooner once you realized you've been scammed.

Some website or company provide some discounts during years and they bring contest to win prizes so now we don’t really have any information about the website you are talking about and providing the information about the product or website will help us to make research and find out if it scam or not so please try to provide information about the site.
This era can also be use as a way to fool and scam people cause a lot of contests to win prizes will be almost every where so you have to be more careful and try and DYOR before falling victim of a scam and as the other members said paying or inputing your seed phrase is a sign of scam so try to be extra careful and don’t pay any value online to withdraw your winning price.

Prize pool does not mean you will earn this amount. The pool amount could be up to $10 million, but the distribution will be to 100 accounts only. Such offers often look to good to be true but the reality will be different. So I advise you to stay away from such offers or DYOR.

There are a lot of companies that give out money just to let other people use their service/product. It's something like that. It's like when a new store comes up in your town, and they are offering something. That's just how airdrops are and how I see it. The project must be reputable, and you can check that by looking at the background of the developers and the actual token holders.
Be careful with stuff that is too good to be actual stuff.

You are definitely right, but the exchange has actually done something of such and people got something also

Normally, It depends on the platform giving out this opportunity and their history with stuff like these. The prize pool you mentioned is the same as the christmas and new year event that BG announced, and if it's the same one I can confirm that it's legitimate.
But it's important that you continue to stay vigilant as there's a lot of scams in the crypto space targeted at newbies.
-
Is that legitimate? That all depends on who or which platform conducting the said promotional event. Most of the biggest cryptocurrency exchanges are having their Christmas time promotions and if you happen to meet one of them am sure they can be legit. Just be wary of lesser known exchanges as many of them can be doubtful and may resort to half-hearted promotions just to benefit their own platforms and do not actually care the participants. I am wishing you the best of the season and may you win the prize you are wishing for.

i would ask you to be careful mate holidays make people desperate and frustrated and will do anything to get some money so scams and people basically asking for money increases during this time of the year and if you are not careful enough you will find yourself getting losses during the holidays which would be horrible to end the year at and start the year on

When you say discount, you need to be more specific. When it comes to buying or purchasing of goods, that's where there comes discount for the season, this doesn't really happen in the crypto industry or market.
There could be room for prizes for some contest, which could be referred to as Christmas or New Year giveaways where the winner or winners are selected at the end of the contest event period.
Prize pool is or are different and where is this pool being carried out? You need to be sure of where this event is happening. Prize pools takes place in exchanges or gambling websites. This I'm sure often happen or take place in different exchanges like Binance, Bybit, Kucoin etc. This is not really being done because it is festive season, rather it's normal in exchanges. You need to confirm where the prize pool is happening, to avoid being scammed.

You mention airdrops with a price pool of 3025 in USDT. Most airdrops these days are not worth it once they are listed on some exchanges. If you found this news on Telegram for me, it is a waste of time.
Since it is free, why not try to join? However, I am sure it is a waste of time because there are other airdrops out there that require you to play a game and complete a simple task in order to receive pennies.
