Some one doing business earns every day of life, while a civil service person earns monthly if you go into statistics you confirm the money a business man or a woman makes in one month is far bigger and better than the civil servant, most civil servant salaries are not bigger to face the economy crisis, before you receive your salary in a month you must have own some debts, half of the money will be spent to clear your debts before thinking how to run your family affairs with the little remaining, civil servants work can't enrich you,is just helping your upkeep.
-
most civil servants aren’t working in that industry for the profit let’s be honest a lot of them just had no choice or just really interested in the career they chose regardless of the pay
but business is always the best option for anyone because you are not under anyone’s employment and you have no contract you control your own life and time and you make your own decisions

I agree with you mate. A civil servant is on a rat race, and someone running his own business is building wealth for the future. If you notice, no matter how high inflation is, those people running business wouldn't feel it much especially when it's an essential commodity. They will inflate their price and still make profits. But the Civil servant salary wouldn't be increased and inflation will reduce the value of his income.

is the real facts, most of them don't really have a choice due to our economy, they grab the opportunity.

running a business can be a lot harder than you thought. you may think the money to earn is bigger but you got to be prepared before launching a business because its not for all. those who made success worked they way to make it, they suffer lot before the success. may probably even failed several times before they learn to do it. not that i'm discouraging but do feasibility study before launching a business. study the location and your target market and so on.
this is why working for someone sometimes is an easier career. less risk and less stress and wait for the retirement to receive pension when they aged.

I think we can't generalize it. There are also business men/women who get lower salaries, meanwhile there are civil servants who get bigger salaries monthly. For the business men/women, it all depends on how big the business is. Meanwhile for the civil servants, it depends on their positions/levels.
However, if you are civil servants, the government guarantee your salaries monthly. Meanwhile business men/women, there are no guarantee for the amount of the salaries. It can bigger or lower, it depends on how the development of the business is.

I rather work harder to get paid hugely than working as a civil servant, only to be paid with money that will not be enough to sustain me and my family for a month.
I don't think, there is easy way to make money be it a business person or civil servant. You will have to work your hands off to be paid each time.
It's better I work my hands off to feed myself and family comfortable than to be feeding from hands to mouth without any thing to show for it.
-
Yeah business people can make money daily, and it often adds up to way more than what a civil servant gets in a month. Most civil servant salaries can't keep up with the rising cost of living. By the time payday comes, many have debts waiting to be cleared, and what's left barely covers family needs. Civil service work doesn’t make you rich it just helps you survive.
-
As long as you are a risk taker then you can do business if not then you have no choice but to work with your boss. The thing here is that we want to be self employed or we are our own boss so we have our full control of time. Here in my place if you work as a civil servant you accept the fact that politics will play a tricky role with a tricky salary as well though in some pther places in the world might experience this but some also have better system and maybe it's all about our own preference in choosing the best type of job and earnings we want.
-
Maybe OP also needs to talk about the challenges of running your own business so we can compare the categories better. "Better" in what aspect? Saying that job A is better compared to job B just because it gives you more money is quite rash IMO. But let's say that what you said is true, can somebody even look at job A if they don't have the means to do it? You need capital, you need connections, etc. Surely you're not going to tell them to "just do it" because it has "potential". I think it's one of those cases where people only look at 1 criterion and ignore everything else.

There is no reason for comparison as running a business is a better option than working for the government which is more like a modern day slavery because someone working for the government is like tying himself to a tree because you have a fixed amount that you earn so in this present economic situation someone working in the government will be struggling to meet up with the responsibilities associated with the family needs while a business man or woman is someone that is not regulated by salary but has the leverage to do what ever he wants because business brings you daily income rather than expecting one small salary at the end of the month
-
We should also keep in mind that the term "business" is broad in scope. Even though we all agree that businessmen run the world in terms of finance, there are some businesses that do not generate a lot of profit. It is more of a hand-to-mouth situation, and such people will jump at the chance to become civil servants if the opportunity presents itself.
Owning and running a business is never easy, especially at that stage of buildup. I have seen businesses fail, so business itself carries a lot of risk, and only those in business understand the risks. Today, most civil servants run their own businesses to supplement their salaries. The salary may not be bogus, but the feeling of being on the payroll is always a good one.
-
It's one million percent better in this recent world economy it is not suitable to work for a person it's just like building other people's success. It's good to be the boss of your own business.

Some one doing business earns every day of life, while a civil service person earns monthly
As a business owner, there is no assurance whatsoever that you will make sales every day you are in business. That is the uncertainty that comes with running a business, and this is why for some people, being a civil servant will be a preference because of the financial security that it offers. It may sound somehow earning a salary once every month, but this is the preference of some people because they can actually plan themselves properly with that amount of money they are expecting to get at the end of the month. To summarize the argument, there are many civil servants living better than business owners.

It is true. There is no guarantee that we always get enough money from our business everyday. However, there should be some sales in every single day. Sure, the income that we can get from the business sometimes difficult to predict. That's why the business man must know to manage the financial very well. But sometimes we may get huge money from our business because of many factors. So the business can have the potential to gain bigger money but it also may get lower amount of money. It is different from civil servants that must get stable number of money in each month. But they have no chance to get higher amount of money. Well, each of them have the advantage and disadvantage.

For an individual to be his or her own boss is better than working for the government. When you run your own business, you will be free to make your own choices and decisions, without seeking for anyone's permission to do so. What you earn depends on how hard working you are. But if you are a civil servant, your salary will be fixed on certain amount and it might be difficult to increase. If you are a business owner, you can try new ideas and learn from mistakes. You are free to innovate and improve.
-
We cant concluded yet because they both were interwoven, if you're a government workers and earn a reasonable amount of money base on your level, have a well structured plan to budget your cash flow and expenses, then you may not see it a challenge working under the government, but if you're a businessman and the business is running well, you may also choose to prefer running a business than working under the civil servant, except if your business is not moving or making sales and you're not meeting up with your demanding needs, then by this, you may have to considers government work better than the business you're doing.

Depending on what job or business will be more profitable it depends on different factories so there are some limited rules. For example, civil servants in the safety are on profit because you will get monthly salary in the job but you have the loss factor in the business. Health insurance, pensions, bonuses etc are available in the job but there is no such facility in the business.
There is a job promotion and training that helps in career development, but in business you will only get research on product content.
Business is not limited to any profit so you can make a lot of money from the business than the job salary. Moreover, you will be able to work with your own freedom in the business but you will not be given freedom in the job.
-
I agree with you civil service can't make civil servants rich, it's just from hand to mouth. Some civil servants though wish to do business but no capital
Yeah exactly, and here in my place most civil servant are involved in loans and some of them just wanted that opportunity but not that good if you are just on a contractual and even the regular one's also have the same setup and that is how they want life to be. That is why some people here in my area just eant to run as politician so they will get the perks.

This is very much correct. Anyone working as a civil servant cannot compare his/her salary with a business person. Most times, a civil servant who is aware that his/she is just making more money for his/her boss will make use of the money, no matter how small to make plans of starting up personal business.
Staring up a business is very good and lucrative, but without patience and consistency, it might be difficult to see growth. The beginning of everything new is always hard, but with persistency, it becomes smooth, while running of that same road.
It is said, you must serve, before you can become a boss, in this generation, it is still the same thing, in any way you wish to look at it.

You must not run a big business but the one within your capacity, and it should be a business that you already know the in and out of it. There are some businesses that don't need huge capital to set up and more lucrative, having such business is better because you can expand it with time.
-
I agree with you civil service can't make civil servants rich, it's just from hand to mouth. Some civil servants though wish to do business but no capital
Civil servant salary is actually from hand to mouth and they use the rest to settle their debt, because the salary of a civil servant is often barely enough to cover living expenses to survive for the rest of the month. With a monthly income or salary that's quickly depleted, it's challenging for individuals to survive for the rest of the month, with a lot of responsibilities on the shoulder e.g bills, foodstuffs, school fees, clothing, rent, and home maintenance, this responsibilities consume a significant portion of the salary leaving little room for savings or debt settlement.
If the person has no outstanding debts, they might still struggle to save a portion of their salary. The truth is that, without any additional source of income, it is really difficult for civil servants to save a portion from their salary, talk less of starting a business.
-

A businessman understands what it means to grow a business. When we talk about business, it always appears to be easier than it actually is. There are numerous factors that influence the growth of a business, so even if you understand the ins and outs of the business, there is no guarantee that you will be able to grow it.
Every business faces the challenge of attracting customers because whatever business you start today, there will be others into that business, and sometimes surpassing them is where the challenge lies, rather than simply knowing the business.

What you said is the truth, many civil servants are living from hands to mouth that they can't make single savings instead feeding themselves and their families is what they can do. Before the end of the month, you will see many them owing to bills because their salaries wasn't enough, they went in for borrowing to sustain themselves before their next monthly salary is being paid.
For a business person, that's not their case. They always have money at hand from the profits they have made from their businesses.

Your actually right most of the salary that civil servants receives is not enough to take care of their family needs that is why most civil servants end up borrowing before the end of the month to pay their bills but for a business owner it's different because owning a business gives them the financial leverage to live that life of their dreams these is the more the more that apart from work there should be other side hustle like owning a business that can bring them extra cash

Business owners based on my observation are probably the one who got an advantage when it comes to opportunities and money. Public servants will only receive fix amount of what they work for and you also have to consider that no work no pay thing but for business owners they have no limits when it comes to profits because they own their time.
-
Well, of course owning ones own business is always better than government jobs whether you work as a civil servant or as a government servant.
A business owner if a boss while a civil servant is just a servant with some governmental privileges. I personally prefer own business as a better option than becoming a civil servant.
-
This is more of our personal taste and what we want, when it comes to being professional in what we do, some will tells that they can only achieve on this being independent while some will say that they don't mind working under the government, but we just have to compare the two together and know which is best for us to do, we have to compare them both before arriving at any decision on what to do.

Business comes with risks, you need capital and a lot other skills to be successful while running a business. We can see statistics that says more than 90% of the business closed in their first 3-5 years due to bankruptcy. While working for a job you will have guaranteed payment every month, you don't have pressure of paying bills, or dealing with employees issues, etc.
And finally nothing stops you from being one unless you accept it's not a piece of cake as you are describing.

Very well said. Owning your own business comes with freedom, freedom to do whatever please you even at your convenience, without being ordered around and insulted by people who are not even up to your first son. Apart from this with you being the owners of your business your income or let me say profit is not fixed you can even earn higher and higher than what you got the last time, unlike the salary earners who are fixed income earner.

Yeah, business isn’t easy. You need money, skills, and a lot of patience. Most businesses fail within a few years, mainly because they run out of money. On the other hand, having a job gives you a steady paycheck without the stress of managing employees or paying business expenses. But if you really want to run a business, nothing is stopping you just be ready for the challenges that come with it.

Yes you told absolutely correct that, Business has huge obastracle, to successful in a business at first need capital, experience, and patience. Bit if anyone capable to fulfil it then business is more interesting. And business has huge freedom and it has huge opportunities to unlimited earning.
On the otherhand civil servant has some problem, it is a job and civil servant has huge restrictions, always follow to bosses order. And here earning is limited. So i think and i preferred always business.

everyone has preferences. having a business is good especially if its your passion and people have started to like the products and services you provide. one thing that business owner has to think of is the old age and whether someone like your daughter or son would be interested to run the business.
by then you will just be enjoying your life and pension. so its also a good opportunity to train someone in your family to run the business.
-
Nowadays, civil servants are not mostly dependent on their monthly salaries without having side jobs, to serve as a support for their day-to-day expenditures.
No country's economy is not on the high side due to global inflation. Is it the monthly salary that will see someone throughout a month when the cost of feeding and increase in transportation is something else?
Being a civil servant, and starting a business is part of people's plans. Not dependent on monthly salary as a civil servant, when you can actually combine both, no matter how little it may be(the business)
-
Your opinion on this matter is true based on your perspective. In my own opinion, I think civil servants are better than business people. They have nothing to to lose in terms of rain or shine. Some people despiced the civil servants based on the organization they are working with. Those working with the oil companies, are they not better than the so-called business people. There are some ups and downs in business. Civil servant gets his/her salary every end of the month.
-
If you're running a business, then make sure that you're not running it as a daft person, because if you lack an effective management on what you do, it will eventually turned a bankrupt and capsized, that is why we could discover a high level of discipline with those that engage in doing a business, if not, then we can also choose to work as a civil servant and work under government and get paid every month.

People will always have a different perspective on this matter but the fact remains that building and running a successful business is not for everybody. If it were that easy, nobody would be working as a civil servant. Anyway, there is also nothing wrong with playing it safe with a 9-5 but do not mistake this as a secure job (nothing to lose). Even permanent employees could be removed by force.

The civil servants definitely have a lot to loose, some can even loose their life in a situation where they are sacked from the workplace due to one mistake or the others. One thing about civil service is that there is lack of Job security, this means one can loose his or her job anytime.

Still some or even most people assume that jobs are permanent if they are recruited in a big company but the office politics are real and it's working based in hierarchy is the unwritten rule so if we are down the line we are always at the risk of losing it. Business it's not for everyone which I agree but many of us starts assuming that without even trying it by having misconceptions that it has to be huge and fancy while we can start doing that with little to no cost from the home itself with the help of internet.

Some people on the internet have sold the idea that it looks easy because they show the success part only. I'm not even sure if the new houses, cars, or fancy vacations they show are actually real (not taken from loans) but their audience are buying into these concepts. The 'Laptop Lifestyle' isn't as easy as what most people think.

Some one doing business earns every day of life, while a civil service person earns monthly if you go into statistics you confirm the money a business man or a woman makes in one month is far bigger and better than the civil servant,
Of course everyone wants to have a profitable business, but it takes a lot of knowledge and perseverance to run a business. There are a lot of problems that businessmen encounter to make the business profitable. Compared to civil servants, they just go to work, do their job, and leave their work and their problems at their work after working hours; that's not the case for a businessman; you are on your business 24/7 all year round.
Which is why we have few businessmen and a majority are civil servants.

Well, I agreed with you business men lives a comfortable life than a civil servant. Business men and women could be able to solve their problems that may have arise unexpectedly, while in the other hands a civil servant wait till ending of the month before he or she could be able to solve such problems and which can easily lead them to live on debt, if only they want to solve such problem, they have no choice to go and borrow it, but is still depend on which kind of situation they falls in. But they say half bread is better than known, you can't say because you haven't gotten a business to do, you will reject working as a civil servant when the opportunity comes. Just because you want or love to be a business worker or owner. My advice is to take it you don't know what the feature can tell , if you are patient enough who knows you might end up hitting two birds with one stone. Meaning you might become a successful business man through the help of your hard working as a civil servant.

On the other hand civil servant does not have a headache about future of his business, he does not have to manage all business processes, monitor lots of things, and most important, have far less responsibility. All he has to do is to come work and do his job 9 to 5 or work in shifts. While business man have to work or be involved in working process every day, all the time. He have to think about all of his employees, their families - simply be responsible for their life. When a civil servant can quit job when first troubles appear.

You are very right, people who run business are never at loss, they always know how to fix or have their way even when things are not really moving good, or when inflation comes in, they are never affected in any ways even when they are saying they are also affected but it can never implies or it can never be compare with that of a Civil servants.
Civil servants seems not to have choice or have any power to counter when things are not going as planned.

A business man can have someone manage hus business while he takes care of other important responsibilities. Unlike a civil servant that has no freedom to do things on their own because they are always at work. However, both of these kind of jobs depends on the person in question. I would prefer to have my business than work for the government. I want daily income and not weekly or monthly income.

Yeah I agree. One noticeable difference between the two is that business owner is the boss, he holds his own time and money works for him but the civil servant works for the money and he or she has a boss who can fire him or her anytime. I will also prefer to run my own business rather than work for other people because I want to have a full control of my time and investment.

Yes there is nothing as reliving than owning your own business because you will not be afraid of query later if you are not regular on the work or even treated bad by your employer because a lot of people usually have a hort atmosphere on the places of there work because of how they're close marking them to make sure nobody abuses their hours they should have been used to work, though I'm not saying that all the work are the same but that's how majority are being treated but in business nobody will speak to you anyhow because the business is yours and you can make any decision.

When a businessman begins his business from the stretch, he must do it himself. Only if you have a lot of money to build a big business that you can hire someone to manage your business. Each businessman may have a different condition and have a different principle. Some of them never try to make it autopilot or let other people to manage it. They will always try to manage it themselves because some matters are difficult to be trusted to other people. And we must understand that running business isn't easy and it has a high risk and big challenge. I've tried to make own business several times, all of them end up with failure and only wastes money. It is different than working as a civil servant, the government will guarantee your income monthly.
