I always wonder that whenever a festival approaches, the prices of commodities skyrocket. It seems that marketers take advantage of the situation, hiking prices excessively because they know people will buy regardless, due to the necessity of these items for celebrations. This phenomenon isn't unique to Christmas; it also occurs during Muslim festivals like Eid-al-Fitr and Eid-al-Adha.
During Ramadan, as the fasting period begins, prices rise sharply. Marketers capitalize on the demand, knowing that people will purchase goods regardless of the cost. Since festivals are a time for spiritual reflection and celebration, I believe marketers should fear God and maintain fair prices, making commodities affordable for everyone. This would allow people to celebrate with joy, without financial burden.
