is anyone feeling a bit tired and lazy during the holidays especially after christmas and before new year's? it feels like you are still recovering from the christmas spirit while at the same time waiting for the new year's to start so you are left in the middle of this weird time period where you do not feel like doing anything
am i the only one that feels like this? or do you also feel like time is moving weirdly? and if yes what do you do to stay motivated?

I do feel bored and lazy sometimes, but I think it's because my daily routine is quite similar and I've never spent time on holiday for years now. I feel like I get burned out now and then, which is why whenever I feel lazy I take a break and read novels. Usually after one or two days, that feeling disappears and I can work as usual. I'm not sure if it will work for you, especially when I don't know whether our daily routine is similar or not. I do think that a break i quite important so that we don't feel burdened when our daily life is monotonous.

Yeah, I also sometimes feel unmotivated and lazy during the holidays. It’s like your brain is still in holiday mode and lowkey waiting for the new year to start fresh. I get motivated by doing small things like cleaning the house or taking a walk to be refreshed. You can plan also for the things you want to accomplish in 2025. It gives you something to look forward to and might energize you.
-
I am currently at that stage where I know I should be doing something productive but then tell myself that it's okay, that I deserve the rest that you are getting now. I agree that in some cases it's a bad thing but it would depend on what you should do. It's like that, IMO.
I have formed habits that have been with me for a long time, and I continue to do it even if I'm unmotivated. I rely on what I need to do and not think of myself, which is necessary. Like exercise.

Its understandable on a holiday season on which everyone is really that tired considering that this is a long week holiday then everyone will really be that exhausted on which its normal but if we do speak about future plans specially on the things you do in 2025 then this is something that you do really need up to consider out. If you do get bored then go hang out with your family and if you are tired then take a sleep then wake up on which have something to do so that you wont be thinking about something else. Motivation could be felt at the moment that you do set up some goals on which you are that planning to achieve on this upcoming year. There's no assurance that it might happen but at least we had set our goals so that we do get inspired.

We can keep getting motivated by not giving up, things may be hard on us, but we have to be determined for what we are running after not to give up until we have achieved them, there is also good advantage in making persistence, not because we are being adamant about something, but because we realized the potential in wht we are going after and how we could achieve what we want from it by not giving up or losing hope in it.

I will give the same advice here as I do to keep myself motivated. I basically try to watch podcasts with success stories of different entrepreneurs regularly. And watching them automatically motivates me. And I think there is a possibility of doing these things for others as well. Which will pressure you to give extra time to reach your goal.
And of course, I will give you another suggestion and that is to keep your life in a regular routine. Especially, sleeping time needs to be strictly according to the routine. Because if there is noise while sleeping, then your routine for that day will also be disturbed.

This Christmas holiday is what I have been longing for before it happened. How will I feel weird or lazy when we are in the mood of Christmas celebration that almost everyone is happy to see their family members that they stayed long before seeing? That doesn't make sense if I should say. It should be an act of laziness
However, I must say that it has been a positive energy I have been displaying since I started my Christmas holiday. It has been from one fun to another with family and friends
-
There is nothing wrong in feeling that way, if you are tired, there is also nothing wrong in resting, taking a few days off or something like that, it is all for the better and so that you return refreshed and ready to go again. However, it is normal to have this feeling during the festive period, who wants to leave the side of their loved ones, but work calls.

If I will answer this around 5-10 years ago, I might feel the laziness that you are saying. Now in my current age, it already came to a point where holidays like this is just a normal day with me. Maybe the only difference is that I'm able to spend more of my time with my family and now, we're more now as my family members will gather together to spend the holiday season.
It's not only you that's for sure as there might be some here that are experiencing the same as you are. Now how to I stay motivated? Just think of your "WHY". Why you are doing something. Think of your future goals. Think of the possible problems that you might face if you will not make any actions. That will keep you motivated. :)

I believe it's just a temporary thing because of the holiday theme/mood/situation everywhere we go. It's understandable though since most people take days off and mandatory leave by government policy so that people can spend their time on family stuff.
Years ago, I overthink about this issue just like you... But now I rather use this chance to rest and have fun. And here I'm already posting on the forum because my energy got replenished. As a wise man says: "work hard, play hard" :)
-
If you want yourself motivated then the first thing you need to do is wake up early, I would say 5:00 am then we will feel fresh and can able to accomplish many things effectively. It's better to feel tired/exhausted than being lazy so just keep your mindset clear that you will not relax and deviate from what you try to accomplish.

You're not alone on this one, and that's normal; its the aftermath of the holiday atmosphere where you just feel like you want to be alone and just sleep it off, but a day before the New Year you will feel the excitement again. I just let it pass by, and sometimes its not only on the holiday all through the year; you will feel this within you. Just be positive by remembering the great times and thinking of your goal, which will make you get back to your motivation.
-
You are certainly not the only one who feels this way, we all feel the same sometimes, the reason is that we are away from the routine of work and daily life that we are used to for a long time and after the holidays you find it a little difficult to return to work especially if the holiday is long.
This is a temporary condition and goes away quickly once you return to work, but in general it is necessary to get away from work for a short period and spend some time with family and friends and perhaps travel to the countryside for a day or two as the change of place and the beautiful nature helps a person to relax and regain his energy significantly.

Christmas is coming and christmas means eating cake, going for a walk, having a lot of fun and spend time for our family. Many of us love to spend time with our loved ones on this day. Not only that, on this day they eat cake together and go for a walk. Also on this day we all go out with friends. There are many people who like to stay alone in a single house and many people are very lazy and because of that they stay away from this big day celebration. I think a break in your busy life is very important so that you never feel alone. Everyone wants you especially on christmas day and everyone wants to get the best gift from you.
-
Feeling lazy and unmotivated during the Christmas/Holiday period I believe is really normal, because it's a festive period and this period is always very busy and there are so many activities to do, so many places you'd wanna go, which of course can be very draining and can make someone feel really drained and overwhelmed. and this is enough to make one feel unmotivated to work or stick to one's normal routine, so i believe it's just very normal.

All days are regular to me as I could care less about festivals and stuff. But on being motivated I figured that I was wasting too much time looking for stuff to get motivated, and I would have been better off doing stuff I needed to do and this realization made my life better.
Answer? You just do what you need to do.

Same here on which i dont care on what i need to do since i would really be just that doing on what are the things that i must do and everything is already into our my mind on which its a common approach that you will be needing up to act accordingly and outcomes or results will be basing up on how well you do make out such actions because if you arent that setting out some plans when you wont really be having such motivations then you wont be doing the best things that you can. Just go with the flow and wishing up for some improvement into your life and just dont make yourself that being contented on what you do have now specially if you are really just struggling on day to day living. Make actions that will give out that progress at least.

There are actually different ways that people do to remain motivated as sometimes it natural for us to become sad so one thing that can actually help when some feels down is to take a long walk and have a careful evaluation of your self and the things that you have been able to achieve and tell yourself that am a winner this process is very important as it help one to have a self confidence and get your self back
Another way is by going out away from home maybe to a cinema and watch movies and take your self off the pressure of work and stress this is another good way to go about getting yourself motivated
-
There are times you will be expecting that people should commend you over doing something, but yet you get nothing in return than castigations, rejection and disappointments, things like this shouldn't get us down, because we know what we are made up of, its rather a time of taking up the challenge to build more stronger confidence in what we do, some that we can be irresistible in the future, but if we don't encourage ourself, then we are going to be depressed because we may not receive the right commendation from people.

The fact is that when you have the knowledge of this time you can't be carried away. What is the difference between the 25th of December and other days that everyone would want to kill themselves to belong. For me I was not carried away I maintained my my steels

Little understanding of the bills and challenges that lies ahead is enough motivation to remain strong and forge ahead. Most people are easily carried away by the festivities, only to find themselves in difficult situations after Christmas. Christmas is not new to us, especially as adults, and what is most important to me is life after Christmas.
This is always a concern for me because I have to pay my children's school fees and even renew my house rent. These are sufficient reasons to remain motivated. In fact, these bills are so expensive that I could even enjoy the holiday season. The heart skips a beat as it considers the demands for the new year.

Your body system has entered into holiday mode, and that is a normal feeling to have. Generally, most companies give their workers breaks during this time so you can relax and prepare better for the new year. Consistency is what is required, and consistency does not mean you are not permitted to take a rest or a break sometimes. A rest or a break can help you return better.

Holidays are meant for guy to relax and breathe away the stress you must have accumulated over the years from the vigorous and hardwork you’ve put together to make the year a successful one for you. Holiday times are not that much and you should get use to them henceforth. Prepare your mind to only use the time allocated for the holidays to feel relaxed, lazy and happy. Once they’re over, your mind should be made up to start a new year with positive energy more than the previous year to build that confidence and achieve your set out goal for 2025.

As long as you work for someone, just know that your freedom of rest is limited because it's only when you work you are going to make money, no work no payment and no payment, yiu will have responsibility everywhere waiting for you to take them. Looking at my own responsibility is huge turn on as motivation for me to get up and work.
Anytime you are down, just think about your life where you are and where you have always wanted to be, are you there yet or you want to still reach there, that's enough to motivate you to get up back to work because holidays are never enough with your families.

The holiday period is a very different time for a lot of people, they spend time with family and it is normal if they are reluctant to get back to work. If you enjoy the 'spirit' of christmas, you would understand what i am talking about, however, the holidays are over now and it is time to go for it.

If we are indeed on a holiday season then we will really be that on a very long vacation or week in terms of having a break from doing some day job on which at the moment that it do ends then there's really indeed that kind of feeling that you will really be that not wanting to go to work just because you are really that indeed having that kind of laziness but this will really be that depending into a certain individual yet there are those who are really that eager to make their targets and goals to happen on this start of the year. It all matters in someones perspective and view towards things on which it will really that reflect into their actions.

regardless of how important the task is, it is essential to always prioritize taking a break or rest for some time to rejuvenate and restore the strength and energy that has already been spent, this also to ensure that you don't wear yourself out on a particular task by continuously putting energy and effort in that task without at least taking some moment to rest and regain the lost energy.

Nice, anyone who comprehends these facts—which you took the time to mention—will find it easy to get by in life. Knowing when to rest and when to work is essential. This is something you should do without being forced to do so. Some people rest when they should be working and work when they should be resting, all due to procrastination.
When you procrastinate your planning will always be wrong and this will affect how you chase your goals. Regardless of how wealthy or powerful one is, time is an uncontrollable force that never stops ticking. Holidays should always be used for family reunions, and nothing should ruin that moment. When it comes time to work, the mind should be focused on it.

What you're accustomed to doing won't frustrate you, even when it arises unexpectedly. You'll manage it with ease, just as you have before. Celebrating festivals, for instance, is a familiar experience for us. We've handled them successfully in the past and can continue to do so.
To navigate festivals and other celebrations, it's essential to pace yourself and conserve your energy. Remember to prioritize self-motivation and avoid exhaustion. Keep in mind that there's life beyond these events, and financial stability is crucial for the future.

Getting tired literally is normal since we are after that celebrating that festive season on which you have used up all of your energy then its normal that you do get tired and there's nothing wrong with it. How to keep yourself that motivated? just do the normal thing and still pursuing up to your targets in life. These days are the days on which you would be spending up your time with your family. So its better that you should really be cherishing out that time spent because after that then you would come back into those ordinary days on which you would be needing to deal up with your day job and fighting everyday with your exhaustion and thats why instead on having that kind of let down emotion or being that tired then try to deal up with things that cheer you up.

To keep getting motivated, we ha e to encourage ourselves, not till when other people do so, we need to realize that we have every good potential to make it in life, therefore we must work by what we know and give the very maximum support we could to help acheive the future we desire, when we build a confidence in ourselves, we are going to be more inclined towards the areas of our own personal interest, work more on it and develop what is needed to make us always motivated in life.
-
The first thing we have to remember is our goals and ideals, so that laziness will go away. We should not give up easily, many people around us need us, especially our family. If we are not enthusiastic and motivated, then everything we want will fail, we have to remember that. There is no success that can be done if we are lazy.

the most motivating thing you can think of is your dreams and goals
when you have been in a position where you have experienced the hardest times in your life you will know better than to laze around this is why a lot of rich people who grew up comfortable end up as lazy adults since they have really nothing much to motivate themselves with since they pretty much have everything already
we can not say the same for those who are still not rich

This comment reminds me of Schopenhauer's philosophy where he says, we only feel this so called happiness when we are striving after something and once that thing in pursuit is attained there lingers the boredom — as you mention, rich people who have everything and they have nothing to pursuit so they don't have anything to do.

This happens not only to you but to everyone I think. You cannot be motivated until there is no accountability. And that's why you will live or try to be lazy most of the time. And if you continue like this, you will never reach your goal. Those who succeed are those who can maintain their motivation and value every second of their time. Time is very precious resource only those who can use this time properly can reach their goals others always suffer disappointment

Yeah, that feeling is pretty common. There are times when everything feels slow, and you don’t feel like doing anything. It’s normal to feel lazy during these moments. But if you want to stay motivated, setting small goals or having something to look forward to can help. Even just doing little tasks each day can keep you moving instead of just waiting for time to pass.

I think thing with productivity is you do what you have to do whether your body/mind feels like doing it or not. Waiting for time to pass is definitely worse thing to do; if I do nothing I usually feel worse, it'd been better had I just completed whatever I were to do.

There are times that I feel lazy and demotivated and it is not only during the holiday season. Maybe my mind is just tired and all and that's why I don't want to move out of my bed. That happens to most of us and we feel lazy and this is also an indication of what our body tells us to do and that is to take some rest when needed. We work hard, so we rest also smoothly for our body to react and get the needed energy for working again.

Laziness sometimes defeats our energy if we follow that laziness, just like when we wake up to go to work and it is an obligation but inside we feel very lazy to work but if we don't work we can't get money but if we can defeat laziness we will be able to enjoy life whether it's going on vacation, unless you are facing economic problems it feels really lazy to do anything lol, it's different if we have savings we definitely really like refreshing ;D

when i am too lazy to work, i tend to make excuses so i can continue sleeping because rest is that important but you will notice that if you just get onto it you will beat the sleepiness and you will get so much things done it can be difficult because the comfort and softness of your bed will always be calling to you but if i just push myself enough i now get the work done so i intend to keep doing this instead of falling for my wants

These days I only sleep, when I can't do without it — you know when you feel intense sleepiness and you just know that it's time to sleep , and I get so much more done this way instead of following particular time to sleep.

Those that are feeling lazy as they go to work, they need to fight for that or else they need to find a better job that they are motivated to go and won't feel the laziness every time they go to. And it's true that it's totally different if we have savings, passive income and other businesses and assets that are making us money. There is no need to feel that laziness when we're in that or we're entitled to do so since we make money while we sleep and that's the best feeling at all being a human being if someone has all of that means of making money.

We arent a perfect being on which there are really those times that we do really be that become too lazy on doing such stuffs on which this is really that normal. We do know that on the moment or time it do happens then we dont really like to do something but you shouldnt be tolerating out such situation because this will really be causing up that stall into you when it comes on reaching up on someones goals. We do know that on the moment that you've been that too lazy and not doing things accordingly then you should be thinking on what are the things that would happen if you wont really be doing such act. In order to keep motivated then try to think off about on your goals and on the things that you do want to achieve. This will be that keeping on sparking yourself on achieving something.

is anyone feeling a bit tired and lazy during the holidays especially after christmas and before new year's? it feels like you are still recovering from the christmas spirit while at the same time waiting for the new year's to start so you are left in the middle of this weird time period where you do not feel like doing anything
am i the only one that feels like this? or do you also feel like time is moving weirdly? and if yes what do you do to stay motivated?
No, you are not alone, because it is the same for me, if it is a long holiday, the feeling of laziness will feel heavier than a short holiday, so it increases my enthusiasm to continue working and returning to activities after the holiday I see my child, there I am motivated how I can make my child's life better than mine in the future

On point, we know there are days that we might feel so tired of everything that is happening around us, sometimes we feel that we are not moving forward despite all the efforts or energy we put in order to get to our end meet or to achieve our heart desires, and sometimes it’s quite frustrating, but we ought not to give up, because even if we give up, we will still remain in that same situation. So rather than give up, maybe we rest for a while, have fun, relax our nerves, go for workouts and then continue with a new energy and positivity because bad days are only temporary.

Specially if you've been that stormed out by tons of problems specially if its health related or family problems then it will really be that giving out that kind of tiredness on which this will really be that causing up that giving up on life and some people cant be able to control it out and be that making those suicide or taking their own lives on which this is really that very sad. Actually it did comes into that point in my life but later on i do able to realize that every problems do comes up with a solution and it is really just that temporal. Always think of about the positive things and turn yourself that being motivated on doing so. Life is full of challenge and if you arent that good or making up such adjustments then you will be ending up on bad decisions.

It is normal to feel discouraged when your efforts do not seem to yield an immediate rewards. So it is essential to work hard and not give up. Hard work and determination will eventually pay off, even if you didn't see the benefits right away, your hard work and sacrifice can create a better future for your loved ones including your children. As a saying goes "He who laughs last, laugh best". Don't give up easily, be yourself motivator and keep moving forward, always maintain a positive mindset and believe in yourself and your abilities and always remember that success is achievable with hard work and dedication.

True, everyone is not the same, as they also experience different situations either when they are lazy or stressed out.
But it’s very important and healthy for one to always do what they have pleasure in or what they love doing each time they feel lazy, not focusing, stressed or feeling unusual, that might help them to relieve themselves from it, also it helps when one do some exercise, for it really helps boost their mood both mentally and physically.

In stress the best solution is to divert ones mind, the stress mostly comes because we think a lot and when we somehow divert our mind then that stress won't be there. I used to take so much stress in past but now I don't really give much thought about the things that can create the stress. I know in some situations others can be the cause of stress and pressure on ones mind but when someone learns to control stress then it's possible to be stress free to some extent. :)

Indeed stress arises when a person concentrates much of his or her thinking on issues that touch on his or her life, aspects that one cannot control. There are all kind of ways that may be stress reducing, for instance by taking our minds off the cause of stress through engaging in chores like exercising or merely doing something that the stressed person enjoys to keep his or her mind off the stressing issue at hand. However, there are occasions when one has to look it in the face, not merely switch our awareness, but take measures or look for better possible ways to meet it. In this case, stress management is about controlling the manner in which one deals with the feelings elicited by the situation rather than eradicating the feeling. It is therefore possible to start cultivating a behaviour not to be carried forward by undue influences that prevail around us.
