Happy New Year's Eve, mate! We've seen the rise and fall of 'tap-to-earn' airdrops this year, with only about 15% success, which is concerning. However, I'm thinking that airdrops similar to Grass—which allow you to run extensions and share bandwidth hours—could be a promising opportunity.
I tried Grass but didn’t take it seriously, so I ended up with only a small return. Currently, I’m running extensions on NodePay and Gradient, which follow a process similar to Grass. What do you think about this style of farming airdrops? Do you think it’s sustainable, or will it go the way of other trends?

I didn't like telegram t2e and neither grass extension type stuff, felt both were way too saturated to be worth anything significant which in the turned out right as only influencers made significant with this while average joe made around 100 bucks.
I didn't bother with these type of airdrops before and neither am I going too.
-
I don't think that's the best airdrop method that you could get. I believe the ones that have the tasks to be done and holding NFTs are the way to go when it comes to getting and participating in one. I have done the GRASS airdrop, and I have received quite an amount. It's not the biggest that I have received from all the airdrops that I have received, but it's still money. I guess you have to select the project that you think you could get the best result on and start from there.

This is also what I said when I saw Grass back a few months ago before the TGE, now I'm feeling a bit of disappointment to myself because of ignorant I am. I mean it is saturated like what you said because of how easy for a person to participate, but it's still free money. That's way easier to do than tapping on your phone for hours.
Unlike you, I tried to participate in these kinds of airdrops "HOPING" to make some free money. A few days from now, Nodepay will be listed on Bitget so those who participated way before can sell their tokens right away for "free money". :D

If you run these extensions on VPS where there is nothing personal in browser then it's ok I guess but otherwise I would not run these extensions on my personal computer due to privacy reasons.

I do participate in airdrops, just not in all, and I get it wrong sometimes too, like I faded Hyperliquid.

Out of curiosity, which kinda airdrops are you keeping up with man?

I think that is pretty common... influencers will make more money due to referrals.
I made about 200 usd with grass airdrop and I am pretty satisfied with it.

I think you are thinking the wrong way.
Grass was an opportunity, which you missed.
You can't chase it now. There is no "next grass" to come.
Seeking similar projects may be dangerous if you are not 100% sure they are safe. Installing stuff in xomputer can be dangerous. Grass was extensively mentioned by many reliable influencers. Unless I see something similar again I wouldn't try

Grass was a good project, it is from the DePin narrative and the other ones are also from the same narrative, and this narrative is yet to get volume in it I believe I can be wrong though but Grass in particular is a good project. I also participated and made 49 Grass but sold them very cheap. Now many people are choosing grass to invest in again for more returns.
I can't say if we can make the same type of profit from Nodepay or from Gradient but we can give it a try I have joined Nodepay long ago, but Gradient is new to me I will look into it. Speaking of nodepay, it's a good project and we must give it a try. Overall, fingers are crossed because TBH I did not even expected such reward from Grass as well. I underestimated it.

There is a strong possibility that this is going to be one of the biggest trends in 2025 as far as airdropping is concerned. I am not anymore concentrating a lot on T2E programs in Telegram but instead accumulating more points in DePin projects which is not requiring a lot of time and effort compared to the former. And it is not just in Chrome extension as there are also DePin incorporating their projects in Google Play. Inspired by the success of Grass, honestly this is a lot more convenient for me and hopefully can be more profitable. In fact, my browser and smartphone are almost full to the brim right now of these programs and I think I need to buy a new laptop and a phone for this.
-
Firstly GRASS become most successful extensions airdrop and right now have running for second phase, since GRASS success when listing firstly with higher price right now many kinds of extensions airdrop launch their project but still can't guarantee will be success such as GRASS. Have Nodepay extensions airdrop run until third phase and have list at pre market with good price, however pre market always out predicting when any coins list at market.
I have 100 Nodepay coins and not sure yet will get more than $200 for this second kinds of extensions airdrop or price more lower than pre market have list under $1.

I saw the trend of grass last year and I joined late, wasn't eligible due to been late but I'm following this stage 2 just not to miss out the incentive that will come later. I also follow other ones like you mentioned but I don't really know the unused data these depins are taking from connected device and for that reason, I used one of my laptop that has nothing on it just to be safe, a brave browser that's all.
I do have constant electricity challenges, I don't have constant power to run my laptop 24/7. My reward is small and referrals is not helping because without referrals, you can't make much from these Depins extensions.
-
I'm not really comfortable running apps or extensions I can't verify what they are doing in the background. I think running a Telegram bot is as far as I'll go for airdrops. I'd rather participate in gas farming or something similar since I can measure the risk compared to running an app, especially if it's closed-source. I also read many reports regarding malware or phishing apps so I'm a bit paranoid about it.

it is a lot easier compared to tap to earn so i think there is more growth that we can see in the future especially if people start seeing profits from these projects right now a lot of these airdrops have not yet officially launched which is why i think there isn't much interests yet but i do believe this will be the trend moving forward that people are going to be taking interests in

What do you mean, 'run extensions on your device that other people can use'? That makes no sense. Do the extensions even do anything, or are they just placeholders for the dev team to use to distribute tokens from the bounty pool? What's the use of having another extension on someone else's computer that you can use, anyway?
Kinda makes me glad I exited the airdrops scene early.

I'm currently farming NC token (official token of Nodepay) on Bitget PoolX feature and based on the number of tokens that I got currently and its total value, it seems like the official price of their token when released will be around $0.04-$0.05.
It's good that you got 100 tokens from their season 2 because for some reasons, I didn't get any reward despite of having points. Is having a referral a primary requirement in order to be eligible in getting those tokens?

You're definitely ahead of me with this ahah. Heard the staking feature is generous so what's the APR? And when is it ending?
Trading would be 6th Jan right. so let's see if your math is correct. Fingers crossed

OP talked about potential airdrop earn from extensions and run it at mobile device or using computer browser, regarding GRASS airdrop have success before I think OP speculate for next time many extension airdrop will follow the success achievement of Grass and make many participants earn much around $100 to $1000 depend how faster or longer hold Grass coin.
Maybe you can check more detail about extension airdrop and its unique of difference than bounty or other airdrop project, they have allocated reward but depend how most active your extension and have influence for how many points you receiving.

Currently there are some other airdrop actives like grass which have already been confirmed in exchange listing. Some people are making a lot of money from these airdrops especially those whose communities are driven by large referrals. grass round 2 is active so anyone can participate now but good profit will not come because many people are already working here. But there is a lot of hype of nodepay which session 0-2 is already finished and session 3 is active. Meanwhile the list of nodepay token is confirmed which is set to 6th. I am getting good profit from nodepay because their supply is very low so they can pump well.
-
In my opinion the hype of airdrop kinda gone for this season so currently I am thinking that it will be not wise Idea to put our valuable time waste behind the air drop.
And the Air drop name you have mention I have heard for the first time and I also don't want to know more about that because of evenly we do airdrop campaign with full effort it won't give us more than 50 or 60 bucks.

For everyone who is going to try to farm these new airdrops, I always recommend installing them in another browser, other than your main one and without Metamask or any other wallet installed
Chrome has the option to create new users
Also, if possible, an old PC or laptop that has become obsolete is a good option for installing these extensions and leaving them running 24 hours a day without any problems

Reasonable, because currently no project is getting good money from airdrop. A few days ago there was telegram bot hype which ended consistently and now some testnet airdrop hype is going on. But these are really a kind of fraud because the time and money we are wasting to work on airdrop is not really coming in the profit bag. But many people made a lot of money from grass session 1 especially those who had more referrals in their bag. It was actually a free airdrop but i got kicked out.

Propelled and inspired by Grass, there are now many similar projects using the browser and app tactic and they are all hoping that they can also get some good value in the market later. Well, there is no guarantee here and we know that many of these projects will just go to the thrash can. I am however hoping that DePin projects now also getting more popular will eventually take over this segment of the market. One thing for sure nobody can be sure of the things that will sprout later in this industry and nobody can predict which of the newcomers will make it to the top just like Grass.

we do not know if it is going to the trash can just as much as we do not know if it will be here to stay because truthfully nothing is certain and even if we find some potential it is still difficult to know for sure and the best we can do is to just see where this goes don't knock until you try it kind of mindset because who knows it might serve some good purpose and profit later down the line

Grass airdrop project inspiring many other for launching new project have similar with grass, I think can't guarantee with the next extension project will be success such as grass usually only the first extension project running well and the second until several upcoming project get difficult listing with higher price.
Few days later the second extension airdrop will listing but many people get disappointed with Nodepay season 2 reward very small, will Nodepay success such as grass or become fail when listing have lower price.

I wonder if this trick will help to avoid being subjected to infostealer activity for our main browser. With how many extension breaches lately I'm even more worried about installing new extensions for crypto. Not to mention you'll have to use a crypto wallet to farm sooner or later. I don't think a new profile guarantees a secure browsing session either. Well, it's impossible to be completely safe from any risk so that's that.

Speaking of DePin, Nodepay is already launching their token on the 17th of January. After Grass which is the first DePin project to launch their token, I believe they're the 2nd to do it. TBH, I'm a bit disappointed with the allocation that I got, but it's free money at the end of the day. I don't expect that the price movement of Nodepay will be the same as Grass though, but let's see how the project, and other future projects of the same category will perform in the future.

Currently, I'm using my mobile phone to farm those DePin airdrops. There's a Web3 mobile browser called Mises where you can install google extensions on your mobile phone.

I'm very disappointed with the price and the allocation. If all the other extension-based token allocations and prices will be like Nodepay, then many will discard this airdrop, checking my airdrop allocation and its price conversion. did not even reach $5 its better than the tap to earn concept, but very disappointing when it comes to allocation.
I guess the reason is the huge numbers of participants and very small percentage of allocation, but like you said, its free money with little effort.
By the way, I disable my Nodepay extension and replace it with another new one; its not worth giving your bandwidth to a useless project.

hahaha the right decision, I did it too, just wasting Bandwidth for them, working on it with enough optimism and continuing to provide bandwidth for Nodepay but not giving satisfactory results, Better remove and move to another airdrop that might be more profitable, Nodepay is enough to get here.
