It came to my attention that there are Altcoinstalks accounts that are being sold or rented on the black market to spam clients, sold to be used for various reasons including spam.
The list provided contained thousands of accounts, many of which might have been for accounts on other forums.
the accounts on altcoinstalks were more than 600, however after individually verifying each one of them , it seems only 302 accounts were really compromised.
From these 302 , 32 accounts had a rank of jr. member and above (10%).
The compromised account were limited, and an announcement will be displayed when they login.
Many accounts (not from the 302), had wrong passwords, which might be the result of change of password by one of the spam clients, for these accounts, i am still doing further verifications, and might request a change of password.
How did these accounts end up on the black market ?
10-15 of these accounts might have been hacked, some of the accounts might have been part of an existing account farm
the rest of the accounts might have been account specifically created to spam

Fortunately the affected accounts are few and with a low rank and thanks to your quick action (I have been monitoring accounts from that group for a few days) the problem has not worsened.
These types of situations show us the importance of the security of our accounts in the forum, and the fact of being able to partially minimize a totally inevitable risk.

+1 for transparency. It's not a good situation, but could have been a lot worse. This should serve as a reminder to all users to use different passwords for accounts to reduce security risks.

When the traffic is increasing, more parties are interested to utilize altcoinstalks for any purposes. It is surely a big warning for every member of this forum, they must be careful to manage password or any other think related to their account. Well, it is good that admin has limited the access of those accounts. +++
