Some persons see gamblers as people who are on their way to self destruction. Personally my mum have advised me countless times to stay away from gambling if I want to be useful to myself. Some persons see gamblers as wayward, useless and as people without vision

That's in the past many people had such a mentality your mom mentioned to you about those who gamble, and how they are being thought of in the society.
Nowadays people's mentality about gambling has changed because they now see gambling as fun, not to depend on it for a living or to gamble more than they can afford to lose

actually in the past ages people classify them names, but right now the gamble has upgraded, with your phone you can place your gamble and nobody knows what you are doing, back in those days you will see people gathering in a shop from morning till night gambling, things have really changed,so many big men today place gamble.

Technology have obviously modernized and given gamble a totally different outlook. These days people play gamble even without anyone knowing. I agree with you.

As a family-oriented person, your mom is too harsh to say to you that you're a useless person. I mean yes most of the gamblers ending up having a miserable life after gambling, but to stereotype.
For me, I just see gamblers as a normal person, and as long as they aren't doing anything to the people around them, I look at them as people that still has a bright future. I know, I know that most of the gamblers ending up too bad, but still there are some who recovered especially those who are addicted into it. Gamblers are still people, and let's treat them like one. :)

Please always take your time to read carefully before responding. I never said my mom called me useless. It's just like a mother advising her son to shun cultism and social vices, it doesn't mean you are into the vices already. She only believes that prevention is better than cure

Prevention is better than cure right? The phrase is popular among health discussions but it can also be applied to gambling and any other addiction. This is why I also understand anyone who says stay away from gambling to become more productive and useful to society. When someone is branded as a gambler, it's usually negative and that's because they are already known to be addicted to it.

What comes to my mind is that this guy is a risk-taker and generally has more risk in dealing with money. The other things are more about personality, genetics, etc., and not about this guy as a gambler.
However, it would be different if you asked me about "what comes into your mind when you see a problem gambler" as you know that gamblers are generally divided into (1) responsible and (2) irresponsible/problematic. So I wouldn't say that guy is useless, but irresponsible/cannot be trusted.

I wouldn't blame anybody that see gamblers as wayward people because they're saying it from experience. I think those irresponsible gamblers that are addicted are the ones who have labeled gamblers as wayward and irresponsible people. However, it's not true because not all gamblers allows themselves to be feasted by addiction. The have self control over their gambling activities. You wouldn't even know that they're gamblers.
-
Gambling is fun. Although it has destroyed many persons, even to homes, making some families homeless. To gamble is an individual thing, and a gambler should not be judged to doom, because many people have made it through gambling, achieving some specific benefits. It only requires technical skill and good predictions for a person to win from gambling.

I have same opinion but there are few exceptions who does not come into these category, one is Dana White. I'm sure there ought to be other people who are gamblers but are still successful people.

Yes, gambling comes with addiction, there are very few gamblers who can claim not to be addicted, some are even addicts without knowing they are

There are some gamblers I really admire. They may be losing, but the amount of winning they reveal is impressive. The way a gambler is perceived is determined by his winning rate. I have seen people who were previously opposed to gambling become interested in it after witnessing a gambler's success. What this means is that people's attitudes toward gamblers change.
Since I am into gambling, I believe that it is enjoyable to gamble, and thus I see every gambler who gambles with discipline as having fun. I enjoy discussions with other gamblers. We share our experiences and the options we believe are best. These interactions are always interesting.

When I think of a gambler, I think of someone who likes to spend money on bets. They get excited by the rush and hope they’ll hit the jackpot or win big with their next bet. I also see a gambler as someone who gets addicted to betting, and the need to keep playing grows, often leading them to risk more money than they can afford to lose.

Your perspective on gambling is one sided, giving the impression that gambling is bad. It may not be good for everyone, but it is good for others. While you are crying about what gambling has done to you, other gamblers are happy to be gamblers. Whether gambling is good or bad is determined by the gambler and how he gambles.
This is why I rarely take a one-sided view of gambling. I will only form an opinion about a gambler based on his stories or the way I have seen him gamble. In fact, some gamblers can be reckless, and I will refer to them as such rather than blaming gambling.

Well, it always come into my mind when I see a gambler that he or she also do stupid things like I did or even more than I did from my gambling activities before. And it also comes to my mind on how much he/she can afford to lose and how much was their monthly income since they are involved in gambling.

seen gamblers all my life. in our own home and in the hood some i find them crook as first impression and some i am already convinced they are going to die in jail. i could just be too judgemental but i'm sure some of them who met me also judged me by how i look.
most of the time i always think whether this gambler in front of me prioritized his family considering the clothes he wears. are they even traveling or eat in the restaurant in some occasions?

Different people has different views concerning view when it comes to gambling but the most important thing is we should not bother our self over what people think and say about you but personally when ever am gambling am doing that with the mindset of making money and increasing my sources of income , because I am a business minded person so anything that is worth putting mu money should be able to bring money back to me
So I am always thinking about profit and how I can make more money from gambling

Many people see it this way and they forbid it. But the main thing is that those who do not control themselves and gamble excessively are more likely to be in danger. It is not the same thing that happens to everyone, knowingly or unknowingly, when someone hears about gambling from others and forms negative ideas. However, if someone chooses gambling for fun, then I think it is not a bad thing. There are many who have changed their fate by winning big through gambling. Many people may have forbidden them, but when they win big, that person praises them again.

What I see when a player is in a casino is to think that hopefully he is winning and that he is doing well and that he is Staying away from the dangers of an Addiction , that is why we often have to understand the Game as it is, where you have to know that you have a house Advantage, and that house advantage is Something that is always considered to keep your feet on the Ground.
Many mothers want the best for their Children and try to prevent the casino from taking control of their lives, that is why you have to take Good care of yourself , and above all take care of your money.

There is mostly a stereotype concerning gambling and gamblers in most societies, and this stereotype has been promoted because there have been some examples of people in the society that have become addicts to gambling and are unable to get proper help and, as such, became not only a nuisance to themselves but a nuisance to others around them. There are responsible gamblers in society who are supposed to be good examples of gamblers, but because people tend to take notice more of bad things, they barely notice these people in society who are responsible gamblers and have been gambling for years without becoming a problem to themselves, their families, or even in society.

I personally do not see gambling as fun. Gambling is painful and very disastrous. If there are a thousand gamblers in the world I can tell you that just one person has made it through gambling

Money changes a lot of things yeah? ;D Practicality often wins over beliefs/principles. This scenario also happens in other fields. Most common stories are the people who doubted you'll succeed in your business would want to start their own after seeing you made it or would just want to be on your good side because they want to have a pie of that success.
-

These people have already passed judgement on people because of their wrong perception and not checking the facts about gambling and responsible gamblers; they will be surprised to find out that there are successful businesses and popular celebrities who are into gambling, and yet they are ok with it and even honest about it.
There are two kinds of gamblers, but unfortunately they only see irresponsible gamblers and not those responsible gamblers.
-
I agree that there are exceptions but when majority of gamblers exhibit a certain behavior then you don't blame people for concluding wrongly.
In my country, one can be a minimal gambler by participating in the national lottery where proceeds are used for charitable projects and in most cases one does not have to spend a lot of money in case one can be addicted to it. Usually, the bad gamblers are those who are using their money allocated for foods and other normal expenses and even becoming a big burden to their family and the society when they can engage in illicit activities to fund their vice. We have to be honest that the gambling industry is designed to only allow a few winners all because they prize are, of course, taken from the losers so we should not wonder why many addicted gamblers will end up wasting their lives in the pursuit of the grand dream of millions or just to satisfy their psychological longing. Generally speaking, gambling is bad but it is all up to a person to put discipline and control to what he is doing.

Your position on this is clear, you have been able to maintain a balanceed view about gambling. So you truly think gambling is good for some certain persons. The question is, do you know or have you seen people who gambling is good for?

Some persons see gamblers as wayward, useless and as people without vision
that’s a funny generalization
yes some gamblers have let gambling take over their life completely they are now addicted and they spend all their time and money in just gambling but this is not how i see most gamblers especially in forums like this one where we know that respected and experienced gamblers frequent in
if i see a gambler who only gambles for fun, i won’t think of that person as useless
-
It's normal, if the gamblers don't show how they gamble and complain if they lose, but if what is above is done, then maybe I will be the same as other people, I will curse them and give them a lecture to immediately leave gambling so that the situation improves, gambling is not a tool to get rich but gambling will make people poor

One of the things that comes to my mind when I see a gambler is a risk taker and someone who can't give up while trying or when failures comes because gamblers always has a particular spirit of not giving up which is key and fundamental in life when ever a gambler fails he try again and strategies for another gambling so there's a lot we can actually learn from gambler's apart from them losing money

There are over 8 billion people in the world and each of them has their own personal opinions and it is natural that they will differ from each other. In this case I would say that your mother must be telling you those things from a certain perspective, be it your religious or cultural perspective.
Now if you want to respect those things then you should follow your mother's advice otherwise you also have a personal freedom that you can follow. But in my opinion if a person has funds with him which he can afford to lose then he can gamble only for entertainment purpose I don't see anything wrong with that.

You don't know what's happening on users here behind their computers.
There might be some users here that you see as respected but behind it, he's full of debt. You might see some here that are silent, but they're the ones that are successful in gambling. As for what you said though, I agree that there are some that their lives got ruined by gambling, and I believe it's their choice since they decided to spend most of their time and money into gambling, and that's the consequences of their wrong decisions.
For me, as long as I don't see the life of the gambler getting ruined, I don't see him/her as useless.

The fact is that every one has it opinion and view even so the gambler personally speaking I don't see anything wrong with any gambler that I see because it's their life and what ever they decides to do with it should be respected by all the highest you can do is to give advice when necessary
We should always take people for who they are and stop pointing out areas of their deficiency because most gamblers see their gambling habits as a way of making money and so has dedicated their time and resources into gambling

Oh nice, and how many Nobel prizes have you won?
What have you done for society, how many lives have you saved, how many homeless have you fed?
How about this, ask your mom what year we are and then do a bit of Google research and find out it means we're in the year where everyone is free to do as he pleases without some nobody on a forum acting high and mighty and giving advice when he has problem writing a phrase without mistakes.

People have a negative perception about gambling, which is why they make a negative comment even if they have no experience. Because they may have heard from someone in the past that gambling is not good or that it leads people to negative situations. However, gambling today is not like it used to be. Now people use it for fun. There are also various types of education about gambling. What can happen to a gambler if he is addicted or how to get rid of addiction, etc., are now known to almost everyone.

To be honest, we all bet on different types of things in our lives. Especially when we hang out with friends, I do this almost regularly, whether it's for money or something else. From this perspective, I view betting as normal, but my religion and culture do not favor betting or gambling. And from this perspective, the matter is not even close to normal for me. My point of view on this matter is unexplainable.

Well, thing with gambling is that even if you 'make it' with it, those gains are soon lost if you continue gambling and I don't think it's right to compare gambling with business.
Also, DragonF seems to have changed his comment.

Admittedly, our day is filled with moments when we are presented with choices that result in complicated thinking. In the everyday life, people have some things that are quite natural to do, but, at the same time, values that people have can make one step backward in such actions. Probably it is high time for me to be sincere with myself and attempt to combine what I crave for with the principles that govern my life. It is not about right or wrong but how each society or every individual person is able to keep in balance with whatever action he is about to take with the values that belong to the society. The fact that one can think like this, means one is ready to become a grown-up and is not afraid of that.

Exactly, now because there are more irresponsible then responsible gamblers it's difficult to think and agree that there are still responsible gamblers. Even most of the response gamblers have nothing to show as proceeds from gambling

wether responsible gambling or not when you see a gambler you should commend and admire the coverage and believe system that he or she possess because it only takes a man who thinks positive and stay happy and believe that he is a winner and is not afraid of losing what he has in his possession to get what is bigger that can engage in gambling. So this notion about gamblers being irresponsible should be discouraged in the mind of people

Gamblers are always associated with being not responsible person, it's due to the stigmatisation and addiction along with the religious beliefs. But things have changed, people can gamble without being an addict just like how someone drink alcohol and not became an addict. So I don't think any less of them until they show serious signs of an addict.

Mostly, our mothers are the ones who have negative perceptions about gambling. They don't want to hear or see their children gambling because how gambling have destroyed the lives of gamblers who turned out to be addicted. They don't want their children to experience such, they now begin to give negative thoughts about gambling so that to put fears in the minds of their children, so that they won't think of gambling in a day.
Still on that, we can still find people who are above 18, gambling after hearing what their parents has to say about gambling. They actually don't believe in all that, because they understand gambling not to be a get rich scheme, to bet and make money asap

It is a reality that values received from childhood shape the course of action one is going to take in future. The following are some of the things that are conveyed in hope that one can be able to live a good life without encountering many hardships. Well, everybody has his or her own reaction on what he or she hears and goes through and that part of life when making one an adult. It is not necessarily true that what one person thinks is actually the same as what another person thinks however there is a basis for further collaboration that is based on the experiences acquired. What is deemed as evil is not only the forbidden acts or any acts which are punishable by the law but there is something from the perspective that nothing ill-fated would occur in the future.

I see gamblers as risk takers. Gambling is only for those who are willing to take risks. Knowing that you could lose your money and still stake when winning and profiting are not guaranteed demonstrates that a gambler is a risk taker. It is only natural for a gambler to be prudent with his risk. Not all gambling risks are worthwhile.
Gambling is such that a gambler can be emotionally and financially destroyed if he gambles irrationally and misinterprets it for risk. My opinion is that, while a gambler is a risk taker, he or she should be able to distinguish between risk taking and irresponsible gambling.
-

In this case I think it is very difficult to make a quick judgment just by watching a person gamble because we do not know how much they actually gamble. However if we know them personally and know that they are spending more time than they should be on gambling. And most of the time they are living their lives through debt then of course we can judge them as irresponsible gamblers in our judgment which is what I basically do.
-

We can draw broad conclusions about how addictive gambling can be without closely observing an individual. We hear about compulsive gamblers even though we do not see them. Even though not all of those tales may be true, we can still evaluate our own gambling habits and acknowledge that we have made poor gambling decisions at some point.
However, I disagree with those who see all gamblers as the same. Some gamblers are disciplined, while others are not. Thus, the problem with gambling is not the gambling itself, but the gambler.

Since I started as a player I always knew that things were the same with some people, I mean, I would go every 3 or 4 days and they would always be there, after a while I found out that one of them was the owner and the other was a man who was always Sitting watching the roulette and he didn't play, he would only play when there were a lot of people playing , and whenever I went I would see him there too. I don't know if the man had a family, but the only Conclusion I could draw at that moment was that the man perhaps analyzed the roulette routines, some progression or something like that, and that he had money and a lot of it.

I think it's broad when you say gambler. It's better if it's "addicted gambler," the people who cannot control themselves and always want to go and gamble all the time. They wouldn't do anything to control themselves, which will always be their priority.
What I see in a gambler is just a risk taker. They are risk takers.
-
One thing that comes to my mind when I see people who gamble is lonely people and those who do not have fun entertainment and they seek pleasure through gambling, but there are also people who see people who gamble as people who cannot be responsible for themselves when in fact not everyone is like that, I am a gambler but I rarely gamble every day and only at certain times but I am still responsible for my family and myself so don't judge people badly just because they gamble.
-
Well there are so many things that comes into my head when I see a gambler, and it depends on what state the gambler is currently in. If it’s a gambler that’s always complaining of losing money, then I’ll immediately know that such a gambler is either addicted or seriously gambling as a source of income, because this is often the misconception that majority of the gamblers out there have. Because anyone who actually gamblers for the real reason, which is fun and entertainment, they’d know that gambling losses are inevitable and thereby would be ready to lose whatever money they put into gambling, and whether they win or lose, it makes no much difference to them.

If a person decides to gamble, then it is a function that they would like to encounter intentionally. From what has been observed there are different trends in which the each of the persons views this particular game; while some view it as entertainment some feel ‘burdened’ when they experience losses. It may be seen that people have different opinions regarding the outcomes which has been achieved and it is quite natural. The crucial factor is what concerned the issue of winning and losing and the effects that gambling stays an activity to provide fun and enjoyment with a low pressure to achieve the aim it was created for.

I completely agree with you on this and I will also say that not all gamblers are the same, but it is also true that gambling sites develop their games in such a way that people become addicted to them. Not just gambling sites, but all the social media we see on mobile phones today, or mobile companies, all want people to become addicted to their services. So that they can increase their revenue amount more and more.
Then to say another thing, I have to say that the above reasons are the same as the ones we have made bad gambling decisions in our past.

All kinds of digital companies undertake the conditions to capture and maintain the user’s attention level such as gambling options and social media. The more that people will transact with the company, the more profits it will receive from its service providers. This makes us need to be more conscious of how we are spending our time as well as our money in particular such that we avoid the wrong habits. Even watching Poker games and other digital games which are available have an aspect of gambling and therefore if one does not have set guidelines then they are likely to land in a tight corner. Thus, translating experiences into knowledge thus reduces the chances of repeating the same mishaps in the future. Therefore, being able to learn the ways of this industry will make be wiser in a way as to when to quit and when the decision made are beneficial to ourselves.

You pointed a lot of necessary things. The relationship between a betting site and a gambler is such that both parties want to win, but the betting site appears to benefit at all times because it always hosts the gambler, and when we compare this relationship to a typical relationship on a football field, we see that just as a home team gains some home advantages, so does the betting site, resulting in the betting site always winning in this situation.
The only way a gambler can benefit from the betting site is if he or she is not overly eager to win. With this, the gambler will spend less time and resources gambling, resulting in fewer losses, which I consider a gain.

That's the only way to avoid these traps of in modern era. I think we have to make our life in a proper routine and also follow that routine continuously and then I think even we do all these things gambling, family time and also working time & rest time we will still have progress in our life.
This is really necessary in this era because even modern and digital Technology help us to get out the whole world in our hand but it has also the negative site. But if we can maintain our life routine then I think all is also goes well...

Yeah, that's true. The best way to avoid these traps is to have a good daily routine and follow it. If we balance gambling, family time, work, and rest, we can still make progress in life. Technology gives us access to everything, but it also has its bad sides. If we manage our time well, things will work out fine.

The first thing that do ring on my mind each time I see a gambler is "time for fun" because I know that there will be an avenue to relate together with each other, gist about gambling and also have fun while being together, gamblers are always having the responsibility of bearing for each others in ideas, suggestion and gambling related information which they may relate with each other, this is a very common kind of lifestyle with gamblers.

yeah if it’s someone we personally know usually we can see all the harmful stuff that they experience maybe we see it manifest in physical ways or we see a change in behavior maybe he’s bit more aggressive and defensive or maybe he is starting to pull away from society in that case you can observe more closely and see what’s wrong

When a gambler meets another gambler, if they have similar bets, there is bound to be a lot of discussion, especially where advice can be given or taken for future bets, and one's position in previous bets can also be known. Moreover, if someone wins an exceptional bet or wins a big sum, it can also be known. When a gambler meets another gambler, there is a lot of joy between them. But if there is a gambler and a ordinary person, then those person may ignore the gambler if that gambler is an addicted gambler.

Really, no one feels happy when they lose in gambling, not even those who claim to gamble for fun. And that’s why it’s advised that regardless of a gambler’s motive or aim for gambling, they should learn to prioritize not using money meant for something else to gamble, and let it be money that you’re willing and ready to lose, so that when the losses eventually comes, you’d be more than prepared for it, because inasmuch as no one likes to lose, losing in gambling stil remains inevitable.

In short, use only extra money that we can afford to lose with no regrets. Losing really is annoying even if we are just gambling for fun and maybe no one want it either. Discipline is what will save us from more loses. I see people saying they are gambling for fun but ended up losing temper as well. Haha

Hahaha that’s hilarious indeed. If a person claims to be gambling for fun and then loses his temper or control when he starts losing, then it’s clear that he wasn’t actually gambling for fun but to make money, because it’s only those who are in solely for the money that’ll fail to anticipate the losses that comes with gambling (which are quite inevitable). Since they’re only expecting to win, or they’re more interested in the wins, when the losses comes, it’ll sure be pretty disappointing and thereby leading to loss of temper. Lol

Well, it is often the case that something that is fun can then take a man to rather strange circumstances. It is very true that at times all seems easy going and then the facet of emotions can change things drastically. It is evident that no matter how much we may try to convince ourselves to stop, we might have already been engulfed in this process and it is more difficult to get out. Whereas not every enjoyment shall always be free from a burden, and not everything that may be easily understood and achieved can be without weight if due regard is not taken. Some of the harm that may arise when something is done with the consideration of the benefits it is likely to offer when appropriate control measures are not put in place. The issue of interest revolves around the possibilities of maintaining control and not abrasive in irrelevant considerations.

I have many friends who I often comment on because many of them gamble irresponsibly. In their case, I advise them to change their behavior and, if necessary, abstain from gambling.

If it is someone who is close to us, then we can give them advice not to gamble excessively, but we also have to be ready for the response they will give, because usually if they don't accept it then they will hate us.
However, I do not recommend doing it to someone who is not close to us or we do not know them well, because their response will be worse than a friend we already know well.

It doesn't matter how good advice we give to addicted gamblers, they will never take that advice positively. Rather, I have seen gamblers who can only listen to any advice but never move from their position. There are some gamblers who hate the advisor when given advice. But still, if I see someone who is gambling, I advise them to gamble responsibly so that they do not consider it a source of income.

The reality is that advice does not change a gambler. All gamblers make their own decisions. It is difficult to advise a gambler who believes he can build a mansion through gambling. Only self-experience can cause them to change their minds, and it may be too late.
These gamblers pretend to have heard but then proceed to gamble as they see fit. This is why I believe that only a gambler can transform himself.

It will happen, and indeed many of them respond even excessively. Sometimes I also get that from my own friends when I give them advice.
Sometimes I also think why I have to think about them, but I do it as a form of concern so that they do not overdo their activities. Although not family, but a friend relationship for me is enough to be able to care about them.

... Some persons see gamblers as wayward, useless and as people without vision
These are the type of gamblers who struggle to afford three meals a day yet still find a way to gamble. It’s easy to see them as irresponsible or desperate. However, when you come across gamblers dressed in suits or those with average or above-average wealth, you might describe them differently—perhaps as risk-takers or entertainment seekers rather than just reckless gamblers.

Personally, I think we should tell our close people more about the last things so that they can come back from their gambling addiction. And if they don't listen to our advice later, that's their business, but I will do what I have to do as far as my responsibility is concerned, even if they hate me.
At the same time, I wouldn't want to be the one to give advice to a stranger about their addiction and get a kick out of it. LOL

It is not easy to see the people that you know to engage in something that can be destructive to them. It becomes a natural desire to discuss with them and also to help to bring back to their senses, as it were, because caring entails doing so. But it is not always possible to hear this and, although sometimes, one has to accept that the final word is theirs. This makes it possible for all we have to do is to inform them what they should know without having to take much blame on them. Not every man is prepared to alter but if one fine day they are ready to know what they have done, at least we are doing what is right. It is rather normal that every person has his or her own time to gain certain realization.
-

Yes, it's not recommended to tell someone who's not known to you about gambling addiction or anything about it because they won't listen to you and there's chance that they might give you negative answers in much egoistic ways. It's still okay to advise your loved ones but you need to tell them about gambling responsibility as well.

you can’t control your friends unfortunately they will do whatever they want because they can’t see it from your own perspective they are not aware of the extent of their actions but real friends will stick together and try to bring up one another no matter what

I dont think that we should treat gamblers somehow differently or have special attitude towards them. Everyone has his own needs, everyone spends his life and money they way only he wants. They are same people as me and you. If you think that they are "different", then imagine what they think when they see crypto enthusiasts then. Or investors. For them "we" also can be weird people who gamble money while trading and spend them on not understandable things.

Yeah, that makes sense. At the end of the day, everyone has their own way of spending money, whether it’s gambling, trading, or investing. It’s all about personal choices. Just like some people see gamblers as different, others might see crypto traders the same waytaking risks and hoping for big returns. It’s all perspective.

You are right.
And in this cases I would like to say that we must not make someone aware by using offensive words. We should sit down with them politely as much as possible and tell them where they are actually making mistakes. It can also be like making them aware indirectly without making any assumptions on them. Which I think would be better for both parties.

Well, everything is always a decision. As players and traders, we always take risks. The most that can happen is that we lose money, that's why we must be Responsible with the amount of money we are willing to lose and risk. So, whether in trading, in games , or in any aspect of life , we must make decisions and take risks. That's the only way to win. If you lose, it will be another learning experience, but you have to do it.

Well that's it, we may have a point where we can no longer do that because what we get is not in accordance with what we expect, plus as you said we have our own lives.
Maybe when the time comes, then we will not care about them anymore. Not because we hate them, but once again there is a point where we are bored or tired of being nice while they do not change.
-

I would be very surprised if someone would give me special attitude because he saw or know that I gamble. Or if someone would divide people into categories, putting someone higher than the rest, because of their hobby or passion. I think people are not allowed to judge people the way they spend their money. People should not bother how I spend my money. Also I wonder what will come in mind if I was a successful gambler. People will envy me and also treat differently? That is absurd and unacceptable.

Gamblers who cannot control their finances, I see them as failed gamblers and should not continue to gamble... they should be able to control their finances first before deciding to enter the world of gambling... I do not support them and should be able to learn more about gambling...
And there are also gamblers who look financially stable, even though they gamble several times, meaning that their finances are still under their control... gambling does not take all their money, and these are the gamblers that I respect... they can still live with their obligations to earn a living, and gambling is only considered as entertainment...

True, for a gambler to be so reckless as to ruin his finances indicates greed. Only greedy gamblers can lose their money as a result of gambling. Gamblers are typically expected to profit from gambling, particularly those who engage in sports betting, but the fact that they seek large payouts makes it difficult to win.
Gamblers fail to understand that bookies are in business, and that in order to profit from them, you must appreciate whatever little you can amass. The quest for more drains the gambler.
-

It only means that this gambler is well disciplined and is responsible. He probably understand the true meaning of gambling and that is very important. Knowing our limits in everything especially in gambling isn't that easy and that will take time for us to realize that we did something wrong and that sometimes way too late.

These are the attributes of a responsible gambler, one who has self control and discipline and does not allow himself to be carried away by his gambling life. Gambling for fun and exciting is what it should be and not for profit because such mentality opposes the real intentions for which gambling is seen.

First of all, it is important to state that all the people who gamble are not struggling financially. There are those who fell into the gambling addiction where as some do gambling occasionally but do not end up bankrupt. A person who will be immature and will always be restless using his or her money without thinking of the results will only find it hard to change and is only causing himself or herself an injury. On the other side, those persons who are able to continue living their normal life and do not allow the gambling to take its toll on them are the examples of,. That is why I have more respect to those people who are still able to maintain responsibility for the lives of their families and do not turn to gambling in every financial aspect.

It’s all perspective.
right, everyone has their own way to have fun even with a higher risk of losing, as you said, those of us who like to play crypto are also the same as gambling when buying pre-sale coins where the profit rate is 50:50 if it's luck and lose big if we get a fraudulent project, it's not that we shouldn't advise those who like to gamble, but it would be better not to force our will too much because they are the ones who live it, the important thing is that we have tried to remind them of the dangers of being addicted to gambling

Gamblers who cannot control their finances, I see them as failed gamblers and should not continue to gamble.
First of all, it is important to state that all the people who gamble are not struggling financially.
If you say this, then what about those who take it as a source of income? I believe if they are not struggling financially, they would not see it as a source of income, and some would not dare near casinos, but rather, they would see it as just for fun. So, therefore, your postulation seems not alright with me as I would say that those who also get addicted to gambling by chasing of loses are as a result of the fact that they see it as a source of income and would want to reclaim their investment back and in so doing, they lose more because of the minset they already have of making money through gambling and can not watch themselves lose money when they plan to make it through that means and by such thought, they chase their loses and get addicted.

Following idea came to my mind. When I see person gambling, at first I would try to evaluate how he looks to tell what kind of person is in front of me. If he is dressed well, looks well-groomed or presentable, then probably that person earn enough to have spare money that he can dedicate to gambling. What else except "Well done mate" can I say? Probably everything is fine with life for that person. But if gambler looks unpresentable, dirty clothes, bad smell, looks tired (has pouches under the eyes), probably drunk, then except "it is your choice to live your life" I can say nothing.

That's in the past many people had such a mentality your mom mentioned to you about those who gamble, and how they are being thought of in the society.
Nowadays people's mentality about gambling has changed because they now see gambling as fun, not to depend on it for a living or to gamble more than they can afford to lose
Till date some people still have that mentality, they see gambling as a distraction thinking that it's a destruction to any individual who involved in it. They see gambling as an abomination, thinking that anyone that is involved in gambling is committing a crime, and some see gamblers as a sinners thinking that nothing positive is going to come out of gambling. I know that all this is olden days mentality due to their beliefs, customs and tradition. We are in the 21th century and everything has changed.
