The year has just started but we've already been having quite a bunch of pretty nice GameFi tokens like Xter and even U2U but more noteworthy ones are starting to come forth too. Last year was quite lackluster for the GameFi sector but it seems like we can expect something good from them this year. Maybe we can even expect something good from TON projects after their current streak. I saw a new projects named CATGOLD that people have been talking about on Twitter, it's not a tapping project but a normal Play2earn and with the hype behind it and it being the new year and all, I'm strangely optimistic about it, what do you guys thing will happen though? Is it a revival ot just another dud?

Yes, most of the trivial Tone projects are of no value, rather we cannot call them the word projects because they are bouncies to click and steal user money only through fees and purchase inside the bot.
But the CatGOLD project may be a little different because it is of the type of Play2earn projects so it looks slightly different from the rest of the bottles, it looks like a Catzi game that has achieved some success before, but you must buy to be able to upgrade and get the Containers that will be listed soon.

Tbh Ton ecosystem needs to step up as regards to projects building in their ecosystem if they'll be regarded as a top blockchain.. regardless I think they're made progress over the past one year... Catgold is live already, seems you missed out. The year of 2024 is shaping up to be a prime month for airdrops within the telegram gaming ecosystem offering players exciting opportunities to earn tokens. But this hype can't last long as people are getting harassed by it now. Where you are investing and wasting time playing games and not getting much profit after lot of months. So i think it's important to be aware of the risks associated with airdrop.
So you should research each project well and understand the requirements and eligibility criteria. Although airdrops present potential rewards, they are not risk free. We should participate in airdrops where there is no investment.

The Play2earn concept is still making noise so we will likely see more momentum from it in the coming months along with memecoins but betting on a project like CATGOLD may not seem wise. I would prefer older projects with a user base and low token value.

I didn't get much from catgold but my friend earned around $668 from catgold telegram gaming. But of course he invested more than $300 and spent a lot of time. This is really taking crypto in a different direction because not everyone is getting good results despite spending money and time on telegram gaming. I'm really looking forward to some new concepts emerging this year where everyone finds a better way to earn money.

That's the nature of airdrops right now. If you don't have lots of referrals, invest into it and hope that when the TGE comes, the money that you spend will cover the number of tokens you will be selling. Gone are the days where you will just invest your time, and you will make money... and I mean considerable amount of money.
Well, at least your friend doubled his money just by spending some effort and his own money. Some airdrops might give you losses even you invested some money on them. As for TON, I hope they will be more creative in the future, and I expect more projects of different category to be created under TON blockchain.

The first time when I read that I thought it was Ponzi, I wonder how wrong I got it, if any at all.

The good part about these coins is that once you go out of x for a bit, all the noise goes off, whenever I take a break from all social media and just read the forum and main subs seems like all these meme defi gamefi nft coins stopped existing.
Pretty solid indicator of how much of a bubble they are with, recirculating the same investments over and over between them, I'm starting to think these coins are much like slots gambling, with addicted traders gambling on the next one that will bring the jackpot.

So far CatGOLD looks good to me, but we are waiting for the distribution to see if it is worth it or not, I only invested a small amount in addition to completing daily tasks so I am waiting to see if I will get a good amount from the game, or if it will be just garbage like all the bots before it.

Yeah, but I will still say that even a good bounty or a rewarding airdrop or whatever you call the distribution this day doesn't mean a good coin with a future or that it won't turn into a rug pull after the initial success.
I have received in the past some airdrops worth more than a hundred dollars just for having an address, yet I can't even remember the name of those coins, I would bet the same amount they are all dead by now.

Yes I agree with you completely, good distribution does not mean that this coin or project has become good.
So I follow my own strategy with these bots where I sell immediately after listing because there you get the highest price and after days (sometimes hours) the price of the coin starts to decrease and often dies shortly after listing as you mentioned.
Most of these bots die shortly after listing because after listing because who will use the bot? Even these games that I say are good are used only before listing and after distribution and listing who will bother to open the bot?
