Silencio is a DePIN project that has launched the $SLC token on the PEAQ network (which is a Polkadot parachain).  You can download the Silencio app from the App Store or Google Play.  The Silencio app lets you record ambient sound (decibel) levels and earn in-app noise tokens (it does not actually record audio - just the decibel levels) as you walk around.

Silencio just completed their $SLC token generation event (TGE) and Beta airdrop (rewarding $SLC to people who have been using the app and earning the in-app noise tokens).  This airdrop is labeled as a Beta airdrop.  The first official airdrop will happen at some point in the future.  In the meantime, Silencio will be starting monthly raffles awarding $SLC to people who are using the app to earn the in-app noise tokens (by recording noise levels as they walk around).

The $SLC crypto is now trading on several DEXs.  KuCoin just announced a lottery/draw with a 2.5 million $SLC prize pool to be shared by 150 winners:

I have been using the Silencio app for almost a year now.  The app shows you a map (like Google Maps) of your current area that has a grid of hexagons overlaid upon it.  As you walk around and record decibel levels, it colors in the hexagons on the map (according to how loud the area is).  It's actually a bit fun to explore your city and color in the hexagons as you walk around.  It helped motivate me to get more walking exercise.  Anyway, now that Silencio has actually (and finally) had their TGE, you can earn crypto for just using the app while you walk around.  If you have an unlimited data plan for your phone, this essentially costs you nothing (just some extra battery power).

If you want to try out the Silencio phone app, you can use referrer code "pmbug" (without the quotes) to earn a 200 in-app noise coin bonus (it's not a lot honestly, but it's more than zero).
