No, you don't, karma should be given only to quality posts, as thanks and how reliable your profile in the forum for providing help, etc. Also, only Sr. member rank only can give +-karma.

Nah, that would be karma abusing if you don't deserve karma on any post and you ask your friend to give you karma, then you would be convicted of karma abusing. First of all, your friend has to be a senior member to give karma to you, and if he proves guilty, then he can lose his power to give karma.

Therefore, I suggest you avoid this quick method to increase status, and if by status you mean rank, then keep in mind that you don't need karma to increase your rank as we need merits on BTT, we only need activity and to make posts here to get ranked. But that's not too easy as well, but it's easy in comparison to BTT.

Karma should be given only for the following reasons

Quote
Providing good answers, interesting questions, useful topics and helpful comments for other members
Making translations of forum guides, news or crypto projects for your local language section
Accurately reporting posts, users and bugs as well as proposing good suggestions
Writing an article about the forum see: How to get a positive Karma point fast
Being friendly, welcoming, respectful and helpful towards others

When you found circulating Karma between a group then it will be considered as abuse and you will be marked, lose all the Karma earned as well as ability to send Karma.

Karma is not required for rankup so there's no point in risking for absolutely nothing.

Karma is not what should be begged for, you cant request someone to give it to you, it must not be abused, its not also a requirement that you must rank up with it, once you can be active and be posting, you will be growing in rank, if you think you need karma, then work on yourself on how you could make a quality post, also, learn from the way others are posting and begin to give something worth it form your post content.

Karma is free and you can get it from anyone. As for increasing status, you are referring to forum account rank right? If so, you can go up to full member without any karma (just posts/activity) if I am not mistaken. Higher than that, I'm not sure as it's a 'state secret'. Anyway, you can follow what members already said about getting +karma and build up your rank.

If you think things should be done that way, then there will be abusive use of the karma system. As a newbie, take out time to read some vital and informative posts here in the forum to help you grasp knowledge. If you can be active and creating posts with value to co forum users, then you'll definitely get +karma. Note: When you become abusive and not helpful in your posts and comments, that might attract -karma.

The forum is a friendly one, which also it's members are also friendly to render needful helps and insights when required.
