Title: Bitcoin Price under $80k and alts crash soon ?
Post by: JISAN on February 07, 2025, 08:58:01 PM
The price of Bitcoin is slowly falling though not very fast.  But the alts are declining very fast. Recently Bitcoin price took a big down and recovered from $91k to 101k. But since then no major movement of bitcoin is seen but slowly bit by bit the price of bitcoin is decreasing. Today it was down from $100k again to $95k. Is this just a Bitcoin correction or will we see a gradual decline in Bitcoin?  How is your prediction for Bitcoin in this situation?

Will all alts crash in a bitcoin situation? or is everything a major price correction for something big to happen?

Regarding alts, they've been bleeding already, most of them haven't seen a new all time high, as compare to Bitcoin which hit it many times already. For Bitcoin, it's possible that we might go further to $80k'ish if there will be negative news.

So far $90k is still a strong support. But if it goes down $80k or even $70k then it's time to scope Bitcoin again and buy more, as much as you can. I'm not going to be worried because I'm still seeing that we will go on a massive bull run before the end of the year.

my prediction is quite similar to what my hopes would be for this cycle i still believe that bitcoin can reach another new ath before the bear market starts but i am aware that there is a possibility that it might not anymore

well anyway my resolve doesn’t crumble and i will still stick with my plan from the start

regardless of what this is: a temporary dip or first sign of bear market, altcoins will always dip once bitcoin starts to decline a bit in price no matter the amount

        -      I think that some of our friends on this forum have already expected that to happen, no one knows when. How many times has that kind of cycle happened in the crypto industry market? Right now, we can see that there is a correction happening in the bitcoin value and that other cryptocurrencies are being pulled down.

That's why what others are doing is dca, in which is for me a good chance to do it if it's long-term for an investor who wants to accumulate bitcoin or cryptocurrency.

Is this just a Bitcoin correction or will we see a gradual decline in Bitcoin?

Normal users, traders, and funds are being spooked by the things happening globally, so they are starting to either pull funds out of risky investments or take their profits and minimize exposure. It's not just a Bitcoin thing it happens with all markets, this is not a bitcoin "correction" in the global economy being anxious about what the clown in the White House might do next and how it would impact everything.
And since alts are way riskier than BTC , there you have it.

Altcoins are already down even before BTC dive to $80k but then we got a warning from CZ's tweet recently which I think followers are taking it seriously as well. He is a the guy to look up to when it comes to possibilities in crypto.

Bitcoin is falling and economy is crumbling while Trump is doing crazy economic war to countries he hate, it becomes uncertain anymore. I would be one of person worrying about high egg prices.

We aren't meant to panic if actually we knows about the market very well or even see how the previous charts has been, let say from previous ATH we know that there was no straight movement about the price, most times we may likely see price declination on Bitcoin and altcoin find it very hard to survive it mostly times when Bitcoin gains some percentage the altcoins follows immediately but they are mostly affected when Bitcoin start corrections.

I won't even be surprised if Bitcoin will drop to the $70k-ish  level and for me what was happening on the market right now is just normal. Uptrend, downtrend or sideways that is the usual thing Bitcoin been doing every cycle not unless it goes down or up aggressively in a short period of time because there maybe some factor that trigger that kind of move unlike the continues trends which is very common.

I don't know why people get scared as soon as they see Bitcoin drop a little and start spreading fear that Bitcoin will collapse and the market will collapse with it, this is all nonsense, just a correction, even if it is big, it is not scary at all.

I am basically surprised because we are in an upward cycle and we are waiting for months full of big rises and we expect Bitcoin to rise to new highs, so these corrections that we see are just small stations on the way to the peak, there is no need to be afraid at all and there is no need to spread these expectations about Bitcoin collapsing.

If a correction happens, we will definitely be below $80-90k, so all these declines are not a correction.

If a healthy correction happens, then we can still see $150k levels this year.
The worst thing that could affect the price of Bitcoin would be a clear recession, and it could happen if Trump's management of the economy was bad, but usually these results appear starting from  Q3/4, so under normal circumstances nothing bad would happen like this.

Of course, all alts are indeed falling when bitcoin is experiencing a correction like today and tends to be unstable.
But I think bitcoin will still stay above the price of $90k++ and this will also be affected by market developments as well as how the fundamentals of the crypto market are happening.

Expecting a lower drop may be just in anticipation, as we also don't know if a further decline will occur or if there will even be an even higher rise.

The run momentum is almost exhausted and that's because Trump is already in his office and now focus on the real issues. The outcome is also affecting Bitcoin but this is on the short term. Are we going to see crash? If you ask me, I will say Bitcoin will remain gallant, there may be correction but there wouldn't be crash like the previous times we do experience in the market.

The only coins I think will suffer are the altcoins, many new coins without nothing to solve and they are acting tough, the meme coins are inclusive because of hype but very soon, this will fade up and there wouldn't be coin to shill again.

A lot can be expected from crypto but Trump's hype crypto market is not behaving normally.  Due to which a possible prediction is not possible. I am not much expert in analysis so I don't understand current market situation.  But I don't know how the experts are predicting. The price of Bitcoin surprised everyone and quickly hit over $109k. so can hit $150k too. But do you think it is possible this year

Every alt will follow bitcoin price.

Altcoins price can go up as long as bitcoin bull run is maintained.  When bitcoin bear market starts, it is over for all alts. All of them will fall with bitcoin.

This is how this market always worked.

When BTC drops to $80k, does that mean that the BTC price drop from its ATH is more than -25%? This means that the price drop is indeed that severe. and of course, altcoins will crash. let alone a drastic turn like that, the current BTC price drop of $96k has already made altcoins crash so much. Even Ethereum also fell and plunged to $2.6k again, or even dropped even further later. So the point is, just be patient with the current market conditions.

the possibility will always be there, especially during the bullish season. but we should not target too high than later disappointed. I target to sell my bitcoin at a price of $ 120K this year.
And we'll see, whether that price will be achieved.
according to many people's predictions bitcoin will reach ATH exceeding $ 120K, let's see whether it will happen in Q1, Q2 or towards the end of this year.

Any dip in the price of bitcoin should be viewed as an opportunity to buy more and take up better positions for when the market continues to be bullish. It is called riding the waves. There are investors who are very good at this, and you will never hear them complain of the value of bitcoin when it is dropping.

Too early to say it could crash on $80k, there are still resistance for not going down such price. Now after 4 days after it hits $92k, it become stable in $96k range going back again to 100k. I guess we can see another spike in the price. I bet the reason it got dump is due to El Salvador's decision to amend the of bitcoin being not a legal tender anymore in the country.

~ How is your prediction for Bitcoin in this situation?
The ETF effect is over.
The immediate effect of Trump's win and inauguration is over.

What else could be a market driver? I think big investors are looking at the progress of bitcoin as Government reserves and other policies affecting crypto (and the general market) that the SEC or lawmakers that will introduce.

There will likely be a new policy made by Trump through the SEC that will trigger an increase in bitcoin and altcpoin. and there could be a massive reserve to buy bitcoin. We should wait, what causes the price of bitcoin. because as you said the ETF effect is over, Trump's victory is also over. Will Trump make a policy to support bitcoin?

Well yeah I agree that is why I am wondering why we are thinking of something like a crash when the market is still bullish. The price stays $90k+ to a hundred thousand level which is like ranging and in this cycle the possibility of us seeing another spike is quite high so yeah we just need confirmation for that whether it's gonna go up or down.

Usually altcoins will not be saved to last long if bitcoin drops - down a few percent altcoins experience a severe decline so how sensitive altcoins are when bitcoin drops.

However, with the current conditions, trying to stay in the hold of several altcoins if bitcoin is clear will remain in HODL because there may still be potential to rise.

Some observers of the 4-year BTC cycle, February 2025 is the last month we will see prices above $100k... after February 2024, there will likely be a hemorrhage in the crypto market, all markets will be red and will enter a bearish period... this is 10 months after the BTC halving in 2024, and yes, we must be vigilant in these months... I even started to reduce the supply of purchases I made to anticipate the cycle prediction...

Trading view also discusses it about 1 year before halving and 1 year after halving... the chart always swings..

With the price still continuing to grow and increase and the correction that is there is only momentary and will return to the increase. agree with you that until now the market is still bullish and there is no sign that it will stop and continue to increase, where in time, it will reach the best level that bitcoin has ever achieved.

I believe that we should already be avoiding the mention of "collapse" when it comes to Bitcoin all because we already know that this asset is very volatile and while it can go so low it can also go so high. Had this movement be affecting stocks, it would already be catastrophic the same bloodbath that happened in 2008 but here everything is just fine. Now, as one who is already been years in this market, i can sense that Bitcoin seems to be stuck somewhere and right now finding it hard to go beyond the $100K and make a new ATH...and this "less energetic" stance is very much affecting the altcoins market. At this time, I better be at Bitcoin rather than in altcoins. I could not imagine what can be if finally we can say that altseason is not anymore coming true and we go directly to the bear season...am still hoping it won't happen that way.

In addition to the HOLD option, there is another option, namely BUY MORE. because in the near future the market will fluctuate strongly, my reason is that there will be another press conference regarding future economic policies and prospects by SEC Chairman Jerome Powell. As usual, investors are preparing to react by dumping assets temporarily after his speech.

As we can see, altcoins are already decreasing, for the past five months, it has been Bitcoin sending altcoins to "NEW LOWs" .According to some experts, there may be another six to eight percent drop in Bitcoin which is likely going to further sending many altcoins to 30% dips from their various price levels.
In facts, there are indication that there are heavy capital flowing into Bitcoin giving it a huge dominance that may have long term effect on altcoins. The dominance surge show Bitcoin's resilience and investors preferences for safety over risket assets

Yep... BTC dominance in the past year has really been increasing continuously.. lots of inflow from various investors and most likely the assets from altcoins are being moved to Bitcoin... we see that the price of Bitcoin has not dropped below $90k while altcoins are experiencing quite serious bleeding..

Currently BTC DOM is at 60.3% this is really quite high compared to the bullish period a few weeks ago, which was only around 57% to 58%.... seeing ETH DOM which fell 1.4% and the dominance of other altcoins also -1.5% that means, many people are starting to shift their assets to BTC... either temporarily waiting for the altcoin buyback or they could also be aware of the more promising long-term BTC investment.

What is happening now actually seems like the water is calm if I compare it to the ocean where waves can occur at any moment, so while it is calm let's just take advantage of what we should do as traders whether we are long-term or short-term holders.

Because when this situation happens, it seems like it is difficult to make decisions because something might suddenly change and we will be left behind again.

Alts are more open to the market compared to Bitcoin. If Bitcoin goes down by 1 percent, alts will go down by around 10 percent, and the same applies in the upward direction. We know Bitcoin is unpredictable, but based on past events, we can make some predictions about whether Bitcoin will follow this trend or that one. This time, Bitcoin is sliding slowly, and it's a sign of big movements. When Bitcoin has moved slowly in the past, the market stabilized and then made a big jump, so maybe we can experience that again.

The crypto market does seem calm because it is undergoing a correction and the price of bitcoin is holding below $100K, I think it will only last a few days, because the crypto market will move again and in accordance with its fluctuating character.
If I analyze the current market conditions, such as short and medium term iovest for traders is very suitable.

If that really happens, then there is a possibility that the price of BTC will crash drastically and make altcoins also crash. However, I personally am someone who is still optimistic that Bitcoin will rise again and we just have to wait for the time. Indeed, American crashes often occur and this is very natural. But if we want to be patient, believe me, everything will be the result of hard work and patience. Although sometimes we may get angry, but still, everything must remain under control, especially our mentality and emotions.

Is this just a Bitcoin correction or will we see a gradual decline in Bitcoin?  How is your prediction for Bitcoin in this situation?

Will all alts crash in a bitcoin situation? or is everything a major price correction for something big to happen?
Looking at the chart of Bitcoin on a weekly time frame, I saw that we have a huge upwards movement during the month of November, and that's the time when Trump won. There's a chance that we might test the $81,000-$88,000 price range if we see Bitcoin going down to its current support of around $89,000.

Despite the pessimism that's being spread around, I still believe that in the long run, we will still see a bullish movement. I just don't know when though. My prediction for Bitcoin? At the end of 2024, I expected that the first quarter of 2025 will be the most bullish months, but it seems like that isn't the case. As for alts, there's not that much liquidity being poured on these altcoins that's we aren't seeing a huge price increase, and the more the price of Bitcoin goes down, the alts will go much lower. This is why those maximalists are always saying to just focus on Bitcoin. :D

Well the future cannot be exactly predicted, it may just be an estimated forecast of Bitcoin price. In addition, your statements about market turning upside down is not clear, however, if you meant that the bitcoin shall be very bullish in the future, its will be obvious because we have the most crypto friendly regime in the US, and Donald Trump crypto promises during his elections campaigns may be implemented to boost a massive bull run as many crypto enthusiast are anticipating.

What is happening on the Bitcoin market price is simply  investor preference for bitcoin rather than riskier assets. In facts, for the past five months, Bitcoin has shown resilience, an evidence of massive capital inflows from big investors. It is clear that investors has been mindful of Bitcoin dominance through consistent demands and less supply within this periods.

In addition, I think that altcoins are suffering the Bitcoin dominance on a higher rates, and if the situation continues, many altcoins will run out of liquidity, and some may crash.
Bitcoin has remains on a high demand, i have not seen any changes to this facts yet.

A normal phenomenon and indeed occurs in bitcoin, which is currently experiencing a correction and that is a natural thing to happen and only temporary. That will return to increase in time.
Agree with what you said, in a situation like this, there are indeed things that can be done where doing short or medium-term trading is very promising and can be done, before it its continue to increase to reach continues their highest price.

For me, everything is still fine, BTC continues to be in a linear uptrend channel and has not fallen below $70K. I have no reason to panic or sell tokens, however, when BTC price drops below the basic trendline, it also makes me worry and sometimes sigh involuntarily ^^

Some Elliott Wave analysts believe that the impulse wave of this cycle has ended at $109K, and we are currently in a corrective wave, and the corrective wave could be a Flat or Triangle with wave B in the $150K zone. Well, I can't predict the market in such detail so I choose to continue following the market ^^

In as much as we are confident in the bitcoin price, we still need to understand that bitcoin has done enough already, even if he doesn't do more for this cycle, we wouldn't say it disappointed us. Many people are optimistic that the consolidation we have been seeing for weeks now is a signal of a great upward trend. We also need to learn from history. In 2021, everyone expected a $100k price and the market reversed from $69k, who knows same will repeat this year.

Yes, I think so too, everything is still okay. and this is one of the phases that Bitcoin is currently in. There are quite frequent price increases and decreases. and this is still very normal. It's just how we become more patient in waiting for this market progress to run like this for a long time. If we still have to struggle for a longer period of time, maybe a few months in 2025, then there is no other way but to wait and be more patient to find a market rise that is in line with expectations.

It should be like that, we don't need to panic about this, but the current decline in Bitcoin is very consistent, there are small increases and large decreases, it's a little scary I think, I'm afraid if you're a little careless you'll enter a bearish trend, the asset will be stuck for a long time

You're right, if we are the only ones who have been in the crypto space for a long time, we will not be affected or feel worried because we have already mastered the market behavior in this industry of this crypto business.

Even if it falls sharply, we will still be happy because this is a chance for us to buy at a cheap price potential alts whose price suddenly fell in the market and if it is bitcoin, of course buy at a low price, that's it.

And until now the bitcoin market correction is not over yet, the most important thing to take into account within this period is to make sure you have extra cash reserves to take up every price discount that bitcoin offers and increase your total bitcoin holding with every opportunity that comes along the way.

Most experienced bitcoin speculators and market analysts predicted this current market correction after bitcoin touched above 100k+.

It's always like this and whenever something like this happens we should expect an exponential increase within the Bitcoin market, but then lot of people aren't that patient to hold or keep accumulating Bitcoin to further equip themselves towards when the market would gain momentum, to support above its previous level.

Alts are losing investor's attention they are not good investment to them at the moment the Gold and meme coins are. BTC and ETH is a better investment at the moment but alts will recover soon and for BTC my prediction is same $150k and maybe more but that will be analyze later.

It is just a major price correction and the best time to buy all these tokens are now. No one predicted this dump in Jan or Feb because they proved to be the most bullish months and still here we are.

I also believe that in the first few  weeks ago that if Bitcoin goes below the 80k maybe the market will crash soon.
But what I observe now and I understand now that when the every bull season arrived there was a situation like that people were liquided from market by the whale and situation was something in the most of the people mind maybe market will gonna crash. I will believe that even Bitcoin will down below 85k it won't make the crash may be that will be a dip point for the whale to pump the market on the real high?

Regarding alts, they've been bleeding already, most of them haven't seen a new all time high, as compare to Bitcoin which hit it many times already. For Bitcoin, it's possible that we might go further to $80k'ish if there will be negative news.

So far $90k is still a strong support. But if it goes down $80k or even $70k then it's time to scope Bitcoin again and buy more, as much as you can. I'm not going to be worried because I'm still seeing that we will go on a massive bull run before the end of the year.

Yeah, as long as there are continue inflow of capital into the Bitcoin market, definitely the will be Bitcoin dominance increasing over times. The dominance rate has taking a long time to slow down, probably it may go down towards the third or fourth quarter of 2025.
The Bitcoin market has been trading between $90k to $92.5k as support, and $98.8k to $102k as resistance. Once Btc hits this resistance zone, it experiences a serious dumps, bring altcoins to a "New Lows" repeatedly.
I am still expecting the altcoins break out from the dominance rate, at least, 46% to trigger an altcoins season.

I'm sure BTC will stay above $80k during this bullrun season. If it dropped to $66k, I'm sure this bullrun season is over already.

If you aren't investing much in altcoins, it means you totally focus your investment into Bitcoin? I'm not surprised with this fact because I know there are some people who only want to invest in Bitcoin because they think Bitcoin is only the gold in crypto.

Okay I have 3 ways to invest.

a sell ladder for btc it runs  upwards from 110k to 162k

I mine and hold about 0.00072 btc a day

a buy ladder for btc it runs towards 89k to 66k. so this means I have cash on the side to do the buys

I have cash on the side for mining the coins. as power uses cash.

Thus I am prepped to go as low as 66k

I am prepped to go as high as 162k

I am prepped for the numbers between 66k-162k

If will leave that range I will need to make more choices and plans.

Mining is definitely a big plus when it comes to hodling but unfortunately not everyone mines. Many persons may not be able to hodl for as far as a dip to around 66k and this will be most common amongst people who bought around the 80k mark when the bull was still pretty much intense last year.

Likewise 162k is still quite far especially when you view it from our current price range which is slightly below 100k and the fact that we are still experiencing a retracement.

There will be always good or bad news in the future. However, we can't predict how significant the news to bring the influence on the Bitcoin price. Even if we have some big news for the Bitcoin in the near future, it doesn't guarantee to trigger the Bitcoin to $150k. I personally never target the ATH since I think it is impossible to target the ATH. I only predict it and make a more reasonable plan for taking the profits. By the way, I think you don't need to buy too many coins. Few coins is enough as long as you choose most recommended coins for holding.

A good advice, not need to buy a lot of coins, but only choose coins that are liked and have good potential based on analysis.
And you get your right, we don't need to target too high, but think logically. Because it seems like there is no good faith that makes Bitcoin prices reach $ 150k

Bitcoin will experience a correction, possibly at a low price of around $50K. At that time, it is very likely that a bear market will occur, and altcoins will go down. Currently, there are no signs of Bitcoin going down, but next year, there could be a big downturn.

Because what is expected now is that the market will recover and BTC can really reach its ATH again, and can reach at least more than $ 120k. However, this is still something that cannot be predicted accurately. Yes, because there are still many investors who can cause the market to change very quickly.

The market and BTC DOM factor are still big, I think, so we would move sideways till, eventually, the factors that are holding the market currently would go away and BTC would propel forward due to reserves and many investors pushing the idea of BTC taking a bigger role overall.

Everyone hopes that bitcoin will be able to rise again and that is natural, because until now altcoins have not shown significant improvement and are still waiting for bitcoin's movement.
In my opinion, the market has not entered a bearish market and is still continuing to move to continue to increase and, of course, we will find it difficult to determine when that will happen, because everyone continues to wait for improvements for all coin.

Yeah, there is hope for massive bull run in 2025, probably towards the end of this year. I am not seeing Bitcoin going down below $89k before another bullish momentum, however anything can happen on the market, there could be bad news that may send the market crashing beyond expectations.
As for altcoins market, there seems to be no hope for many altcoins to break out from bitcoin dominance, and many of them has experienced "New Lows" due to bitcoin dominance over the last five months. I am still hoping that altcoins season will come before the end the year.

Look at the news about future events market conditions will be bearish. Little by little, it will go down when bad news appears this will impact the price of Bitcoin again. There are many causes that can lead to a price drop. If bad news occurs repeatedly, it's just a matter of a few months before Bitcoin's price drops drastically. If many investors come in, it will continue to push up the price.

I have also same kind of thought before but right now I am not worried about the dump rather than I think it would be better for me because when market goes for dump that's means people who have can't control themselves those will just feed the whale by selling their bitcoin and that's means when whale are eating from the market,, there is something big is coming specially in this current situation.

And when bitcoin will goes for up that's means altcoins will also goes for up and most probably this pump will lead them altcoin season?

Yes, I think the Bybit exchange is currently affecting the market price, and there may be panic sellers dumping the price. There is huge supply entering the market with demand zone at between $89k to $85k price level. As traders/investors, it is good to closely watch the market to take a buy position.
Moreover, there are short term investors taking advantage of the situation to buy more, an it very obvious from different CEX exchanges trading volumes for about 24hour running. In fact, trading volumes has been increasing, a clear sign of Bitcoin accumulation in my opinion, it is an opportunity to buy the dip, and i hadlve added some amount of tokens to my wallet.

Anyway it's another opportunity to buy Bitcoin for cheaper, people who been doing DCA don't lose your hope the price will be back to green in matter of days.

If Bitcoin drops below $80K, I think the bearish season has begun, and it looks like the altcoin season will be postponed.

Yes, I think the Bybit exchange is currently affecting the market price, and there may be panic sellers dumping the price. There is huge supply entering the market with demand zone at between $89k to $85k price level. As traders/investors, it is good to closely watch the market to take a buy position.
You are right, currently market is dumping and alts are really dumping more and we can pick them at very lower rates I picked AVAX at 36 now it is at 23 I guess well If I had some funds I would still buy it and maybe some link or ena NFA so DYOR.

Point is there is so much in the market right now which I want to buy even if I have to wait for another cycle I will wait because it is a good opportunity but I am out of funds now and TBH I might not risk more in alts too even if the chances of making profit are more.

Will this happen in the near future or later if it starts to enter a real bearish period? Because what is expected now is that the market will recover and BTC can really reach its ATH again, and can reach at least more than $ 120k. However, this is still something that cannot be predicted accurately. Yes, because there are still many investors who can cause the market to change very quickly.

The market and BTC DOM factor are still big, I think, so we would move sideways till, eventually, the factors that are holding the market currently would go away and BTC would propel forward due to reserves and many investors pushing the idea of BTC taking a bigger role overall.
Actually, right now, we are actually moving more to the downtrend market. Whether the BTC price crash followed by altcoins will end safely in this period. because some still believe that the uptrend market will return to its bullish peak. but if you look at the current conditions, the market is really red, and the BTC price has also dropped very badly. Just look at the graph diving down. And once again, we can only surrender to the existing conditions.

Everyone hopes that bitcoin will be able to rise again and that is natural, because until now altcoins have not shown significant improvement and are still waiting for bitcoin's movement.
Yes, it is very natural. Every person who invests in Bitcoin certainly wants the profits that exist, only when the market trend is very bright and many experts are predicting market sentiment, well, there is nothing to worry about if we really believe in the market conditions that may rise again after this big crash.

We've seen lowest low right now as the price tumbled to $84k, so as I have said, another opportunity to buy as we are still in the bull run although the short term sentiments is that of a bear market as the price tumbled from $109k to $84k.

For altcoins, if Bitcoin is bleeding for sure they are in the worst condition right now as investors are pulling out their money in the market because of the negative news around like Trump imposing fresh tariffs at 25%.

It could happen, but it also could not and there will always be two different sides, and we must remain confident that this is a decline because there is a trigger that is beyond all predictions.
In my opinion, there will be no bear season yet. This is just because there is a trigger factor, and it could increase again, and the altcoin season will still come.

I was thinking of the same thing: how come Bitcoin is severely affected by the enormous Bybit hack when it was ETH that got moved with the heist but then again what is happening is the market's response to the news and it does not matter what coin was lost in fact almost all coins and tokens are affected with the downtrend sentiment. This is a fallout from what happened and we don't know how long will this malady will last and how low Bitcoin can get into. I am just hoping that soon recovery can be started and by next month things can appear to be rosy again.

The market always has its own rhythm and even though it may seem confusing at the moment that does not necessarily mean everything will turn out for the worse. We have caught ourselves standing in front of the big change in the most unexpected time and that happened this time as well. The magnitude is not extremely high now but at the same time the pressure is strong which however has never been a new experience. That is why certain factors that are out of everyone’s control do have an impact on the situation, and thus the movement is less predictable. However, it is not to say that it will remain at this position, unmoved to make improvements for the better. I think we are still in a circle of great opportunities and if this thought is still alive we have nothing to stay in front of us is still open.

And the reaction is somewhat delay as well, when the hack actually happens the price didn't move a bit. I also read about the supposedly reason, that Trump imposing a 25% tariff again could have been the main source of this decline.

Nevertheless, we should have accepted the fact already that this could be another dip for this month pushing the price at the end of February as a huge negative for all of us.

This is very confusing, I never think we will have a very big dump after we reach $109k. If the bearish season starts, there will be no hope for altcoins season. All the prices of crypto coins will start to drop gradually, there will be no delay for altcoins season. It becomes more strange if we have no altcoins season anymore. Anyway, I still expect that there is no decline below $80k.

Not everything which is anticipated turns out to be right as much as what is expected cannot be controlled by aiming at external factors. Personally, I think that every market behaves in a certain way and it does not make sense to foresee their movement according to expectations. It is too much to give major changes to a certain policy or decision, as there are many more factors, which have an impact on the shifting of the digital assets. We have seen it any number of times how the sentiment that goes through the market does not always turn out to impact within the expected time period. There is also seen an opportunity in it to garner a strong boost but to wholly depend on it is not a way that will make us calmer in the existing circumstances.

That's how crypto is, it can skyrocket that fast, but it can also fall that fast too. Usually crypto is in this scheme, it turns out that it is now in that scheme. Sometimes the Bitcoin development scheme is also not fixed, there are some differences that occur this season.

However, keep up the spirit, because disappointment is certain, but continuing to be upset is not good, enjoy all the processes, crypto is actually worthy enough if our choice of coins is right, which can skyrocket again after getting out of this deep correction.

It really touched $78k.... I haven't checked the market price for the last 3 days, and today I was quite surprised to see the BTC price... some information I received, this movement is a price reaction to fill the CME Group gap in November 2024... usually this CME gap is filled a few hours after the event, but this time it took us 3 months to return to that level...

The influence of Bitcoin's macro activity, after touching the $78k-$80k level a few hours ago, there is a high possibility that there will be a price bounce to the $92k level in the next few days...

So are you panic buying or panic selling?

a lot of our speculations are nothing but speculations until proven or disproven and our speculations could come close to the real thing but in the end there is no way to know possible events that could affect a market like who would have predicted a crypto exchange to be hacked at such a huge extent?

well we keep making speculations anyway because it is the next best thing to do so that we can prepare and plan for our next actions in the market

Yeah, it did, I was out the whole day and haven't check the price, but upon looking at the lowest low in CMC it did go as low as $78k.
.

No, just imagine if you panic sell as the price rose back to $85k, but I think there will be the resistance at $88k or $90k. Anyway, I do not see that the bears are going to take over the market. We are technically in the bull run so I'm still expecting the price to recover again and still seeing a new all time high in the last quarter of the year.

The point is that we have to be more patient and more patient. Indeed, the struggle in the crypto market is not easy. In fact, we may never know 100% how to predict the future. Therefore, we must always be prepared for all risks, whatever it is, with what we have taken.

When we believe in holding the assets, make sure we are really ready for the risks and must be more than waiting for the real peak of the bullrun and also the altcoin season. Don't panic easily and be influenced by the very uncertain market conditions, especially during a crash like this. Although this is indeed quite difficult to do.

I don't think would possibility for bitcoin go down until $72 after bitcoin get faster recovering since drop to $78k and today have been success raise to $85. Bitcoin drop depend have Bybit hack case last several weeks ago and hacker success stolen around 400k Eth and huge impact for bitcoin going down drastically.
Depend on hacker will sold their ETH stolen or any exchange will suspend if any deposit on their exchange from hacker address linked with 400k ETH in their wallet. If bitcoin get faster for recovering I believe sooner easy raise up to $100k looking several moment crash always get faster for bitcoin return to higher price back.

Yes, this is just a correction, but we have to wait for good news if we target bitcoin to reach ATH $150K.
I have also bought several priority coins to prepare for the price increase after the correction.
There are many coins that I want to buy, but my capital is small, so I can only buy a few coins that I like.
I have not bought much for long term you can count me out and in terms of trading I gave it few chances, but still I am very excited about the market because either we are trading or not we should have all the knowledge and excitement about it if we want to survive in the market I am not doing anything now due to lack of capital because I have to face my expenses.

If I would able to make some capital then these excitement would have given me the experience and knowledge needed to survive the dumps because I can say the current dump pressure must have taken out most of the crypto investors in lose.

Long term hold requires free capital to be able to do it, if we have limited capital we can choose medium term hold and trade on the exchange.
there are many choices that we can do in crypto investment.
And we can also get capital from the rewards we receive by participating in bounty campaigns and airdrops

The current bitcoin pullback we experienced is something I have always speculated based on how fast the pump was especially during the period when trump won the US election and was sworn into office. Before this whole pump scenario happened , there was a period way before now I think around 2024 where for some reason bitcoin pumped back then to 70k plus.

Without even analysing the chart there is a chance that a resistance level was created when that price was reached after which this current trend sold to probably use it as a support.

Trump's effect on the crypto ecosystem was a pretty epic one if you ask me and that is basically why a huge retest is something that should actually be expected even based on how far the pump seemed to achieve in just a very short period of time. Just like the pump has its speed so does the dip.

Well I could guess correctly or say something; Bitcoin may likely dip 40-50 percent from the initial ATH of this year 2025 before it would gain back it's feets again, since the rise was so massively due to his presidential campaign/election, this gave so much believe on the rise of Bitcoin that it could do more than expected making them accumulate enough bitcon in their possession with hope it would break out $120-200k but it was on the reversed.

even without trump honestly i have seen people speculate that bitcoin would reach $120k-$150k while $200k is already too much anyway i think what trump did is help bitcoin reach $100k faster but we all know that even without trump’s winning the election i still believe that bitcoin would have reach $100k albeit slower than what actually happened

I agree with you that Trump's victory accelerated the rise of Bitcoin to more than $100K, although many have previously predicted that Bitcoin has the potential to reach ATH of more than $100K, I also target to sell Bitcoin at a price of $125K.
And now I'm still waiting.

Just take it easy for now because my predictions about Bitcoin are more often wrong than right, just like when I predicted Solana's price. I thought Solana's price would drop drastically on the 1st, but in reality, there was no change. So, there is still a possibility that Bitcoin could return to $100K in the near future.

It seems that all predictions about the altcoin season are being disproven with the significant decline in Bitcoin's price. Right now, Bitcoin is already below $90K, almost reaching $85K. If Bitcoin drops below $80K, I think the bearish season has begun, and it looks like the altcoin season will be postponed.

Hopefully bitcoin price will reach $100K soon, because I plan to sell some of my bitcoins.

As the market is experiencing an uptrends movements, there are many factors that are responsible for the increase. Besides the normal factors like the demand/supply rules that has been playing out at intervals, there are also whales, speculators who might have been indirectly, or directly speculating prices increase for their personal gains.

As you may know, once the whales and speculators involved must have bought at cheap price, when the has increased to a high level, they will dumps the market with their huge supply and buy again once prices reaches a strong support price zone. Whales, investors and traders also know the market price strong resistance zone to start dumping.

It's also a prediction, and it will always be appropriate, and it is possible that it will be different, because Bitcoin is very fast to change at any time and from a deep correction in just 24 hours, it was able to rise to $ 94K, although currently it has corrected again to $ 92K, and it is not impossible that there will be a significant movement to increase again.
I think not only $ 100K, but it can exceed its last ATH can be done by bitcoin, and it is not impossible. Why should you sell your bitcoin at a price of $ 100K? Don't you wait for the latest ATH achievement?

Yeah I think there is positive news in the market that leads to the sudden revival of the market where Bitcoin surges from 89k to close 94k before retracing back to the 90k price level. Donald has announced of making of Bitcoin as reserved funds and US as center of cryptocurrency on Sunday he said. You can do more research to get the information fully.

We all know that Bitcoin is one of the most volatile assets in the market. Its price never stays the same. Should we be afraid of this?

if you put all your hopes to crypto and your assets are on altoins and BTC, you should be afraid especially when the prices goes down and all the commodities to buy has been affected by inflation.

if you are in crypto for a long time though i think you can manage to just escape this crash and lessen the effect on your finances. you just have to be ready, it may still keep you up all night just like OP. watching the market is tiresome.

The crypto market is about speculations, you saw what you said which is based on the FTX unlock worth of $2b that will be happening but somehow, I don't know if the US president was informed about it or they were coincidence, he said Sol will be added to there strategic reserve and everything quickly return to where they were before the dump, nobody expected it.

I think there is a big manipulation going on because Bitcoin is already trading below $80k again after the yesterday quick pump. The whales are playing us but that wouldn't shake me, the target is up and that's where we look forward to see in the future.

No doubt we have very positive news in the last few days. It may the factor that trigger the price to be above $90k today. Yes, it is may be close to $94k again. But we must be careful because Bitcoin is very unstable recently. There is always the opportunity that Bitcoin may drop again to $80k. If there is no more good news about US crypto reserves, Bitcoin may free fall again. I think the current pump is caused by the good news only.

I think you have to be more careful at times like this, because bitcoin is indeed unpredictable where it will go, because it increases quickly. At some point, it will also fall quickly, so that if you don't do a good calculation, you will be trapped at a price that we might not want to get, which can eventually be a loss.
It is natural that a professional will be able to profit from the analysis done before buying or selling bitcoin.

If we hodl long enough - we can buy BTC at any time, given the ability to hodl it and not to sell it due to the need to have some cash.

It is true that Bitcoin can be bought at any time for long-term holding.  But in some situations it is better to wait.  As now Bitcoin is quite volatile and if you buy Bitcoin at this time then you will panic by seeing the market condition and due to this you may decide to sell Bitcoin at any time.  So buy bitcoins right when bitcoin price movement is low and start holding them for long-term investment.  And of course avoid trading the market too often because when you trade the market too often you are more likely to panic.

Actually, I think if the person is hold for long-term like 8year,12years plan then I think he should not stop his investment on bitcoin although if it was DCA method then for sure this is a risk management strategy so the more people will increase their adoption by it the more benefit they will get on the future.
And I also think that if the long-term investor act like the trading I think there is some how his fund will be also in risk.

      -      Maybe if investors are long-term, it would be better in these times to start applying DCA (dollar cost average) to bitcoin or crypto. Because this year 2025 I can say that we are also in the half period of the bull season that we are facing, because it is possible that this year the bull run will also end.

And when we see that we are about to enter a bear market because the bull run is ending, I think this is a good time for us to start DCA on any coin that we want to make long-term holdings, and hold until 2028 because this is halving time again where for sure you will get some profit at least from the DCA that you made with accumulation in bitcoin if ever. Because if 8yrs or 12 years is really a bit risky, instead of having a profit that has already been diluted,
you tend to wait for an uptrend for it.

During bitcoin keep stable under $84k seems not more motivate for altcoins holder, recently difficult take much profit from altcoin holding how difficulty bitcoin price break out and significant impact for altcoin raise to the higher price.
I have been one month ago holding POL coins and huge significant decreasing more than 70% after bitcoin crashing from $107k until drop to $84k.
Not good progress yet for POL coins holder right now due my investing above $0.68 and wish few days later have good news for bitcoin break out bring impact for altcoins exactly POL back to $1 again.

It's only a matter of time until we see it move again. If it stays above $80k then that's gonna make us happy already. As it has been known, the solid altcoins projects will never crash, the worst case scenario is that Bitcoin will continue to drag altcoins to all "New Lows", unfortunately, majority of the altcoins out there have no strength, or equivalent recovery speeds like Bitcoin. Bitcoin drives the market price, it has been one of the biggest challenge for the altcoins market till date.
Now, the current mode of the market has been a side ways movements, though it has taken too long in this manner, but a break out to either side is certain and may happen few weeks from now in my opinion.

I believe that we will see the peak still and even if we don't know when it will be. We're counting on the cycle of the market, this has to happen that we get to see the drops left and right. This is needed before another ATH gets to us. We just have to wait until we see it go back to $100k soon but it's only a matter of time until we get to see that again so everyone needs to have more patience.

Bitcoin will make ATH again this is true and we will see in future because no matter how big ATH Bitcoin makes before, it makes bigger ATH later.  But it is unlikely that something like this will happen recently. Gradually the market will continue to go down. And Bitcoin will re-enter the market at much lower prices. But later the price will increase again by several times and create a new ATH.  And in this process only those who have a lot of patience and ability to invest long term will succeed. People who panic always suffer, and always will suffer.

It seems that what you said is something that has happened in the past few months when there will always be a surprise when there is a correction, and then it goes back up.
I also strongly believe, like you, that bitcoin will always give a surprise to be able to increase sharply to form a new ATH which is currently highly anticipated, because the price has corrected very deeply, and it is not a difficult thing for bitcoin to do.
Agree that those who have patience will get what can indeed happen and be done by them as long as they don't always panic.

I do think we will see a long move sideways as for now, because it's obvious there is no reason for BTC and the market as a whole.

Uncertainty engulfs all.
Actually, no one really knows where Bitcoin is heading. What is clear is that many projects have postponed the release of their mainnet because they are afraid that when they launch, Bitcoin might decline, which would have a significant impact on the projects they are developing.

I agree, those that are in panic are going to suffer. Like me before, I was in that phase that have no concrete plans on how I should survive the dumps. But until I have realized that there is no need to panic and the market will be better again is the fine thing to do. Everyone is going to learn that in the long run when they have received their losses all at once and will understand that there is no need to make panicking moments.

Everyone has their own experience. and indeed from that experience we can learn much more and more about everything related to crypto, especially investment and trading.

And yes, that's right, panicking in trading or investing in crypto will only make our situation worse. because later we will panic in deciding something, including panic selling. and this is really detrimental to ourselves. because the world of crypto markets will often experience high fluctuations and that is what often makes us even more panicked.

That's essential to remember for those wanting to sell their bags off  ;)

Is this just a Bitcoin correction or will we see a gradual decline in Bitcoin?

Normal users, traders, and funds are being spooked by the things happening globally, so they are starting to either pull funds out of risky investments or take their profits and minimize exposure. It's not just a Bitcoin thing it happens with all markets, this is not a bitcoin "correction" in the global economy being anxious about what the clown in the White House might do next and how it would impact everything.
And since alts are way riskier than BTC , there you have it.

Altcoins are riskier than BTC because the increase and decrease in the price of altcoins are based on the price of Bitcoin, so if Bitcoin falls, altcoins will fall even 2x more than Bitcoin. The biggest problem is that when BTC rises, altcoins do not show the same movement as Bitcoin. So think twice if you want to invest in altcoins, especially in meme tokens. The risk level will be even greater, and even the level of loss can occur.

Altcoin is indeed riskier than bitcoin, but the potential for profit is higher than abitcoin. If we have the knowledge and experience in making analysis in choosing potential coins to invest in, we can get the profit according to our target.
and bitcoin is still the safest coin for long-term holding, I agree with that.

Altcoins could be interesting for the experienced market analysts who are ready to take a risk in investing their funds. But the profit which can be obtained thanks to such an approach can be much higher if a person has a correct approach concerning the choice of assets. The situation when prices are multiplied several times within a relatively short period is familiar to most alts but not to Bitcoin. Nevertheless, Bitcoin is one of the most secure crypto assets for a long term since it has been operating for years and has great demand. It therefore does not come as a surprise that the majority of investors continue to hold most of their stakes in bitcoin through which they use the remainder to gamble on various altcoins.

For short-term investment, investors go for altcoins rather than Bitcoin because they want to be rich soon.

The cause for higher profits is why we have many investors investing in altcoins even though Bitcoin is safer than altcoins. Investors still prefer taking the risk of investing in altcoins because they want to be rich soon, while Bitcoin can't give them that in a short term, instead long term

We know that cryptocurrency market always depending on up and down, and it also a common issues for cryptocurrency market. But we also saw that few weeks ago bitcoin price is remain down $80k, in this time we can see that bitcoin price is increasing $86k up. I think that gradually bitcoin price will increase in best position. Because we know that US president Donald trump when win in election, then bitcoin price is increase rapidly in cryptocurrency market. So I believe that within a short time bitcoin will reach best position which will be best crash for all crypto users.

BTC is for 5+ years.

Alts are for lesser time frames.

Easy as that.

I agree with you about the influence of the DT, who after winning the election, seemed to have improved movements coupled with setting up some crypto to be used as a backup for the US country, although finally the movement is actually not yet seen, because the price continues to be corrected, and it is certain that later there will be an intervention that will be done in order to boost prices again and that at any time, only requires patience because it is the right situation to be able to move up.

And I think as time passes by, there are investors that have matured. So they don't just invest on altcoins or meme coins, they all move to Bitcoin now. Nothing is wrong with investing on altcoins or meme coins, but the risk is too high and maybe in the beginning, we all thought that is the route here.

However, majority have lost their money on meme coins and if we look at the current market, altcoin hasn't had the success that Bitcoin has. With that, it's very easy to understand that the best investment is Bitcoin or at least majority of your investment should be with Bitcoin and just diversify with few solid altcoins.

Trump's victory has a good impact on bitcoin, because Trump supports crypto, so the price of bitcoin can reach ATH $ 109K, but the price was corrected again and fell sharply. Trump's policy of making the top coin a strategic reserve fund is something that has a big impact on crypto, but we haven't seen its influence yet because the crypto market seems to be struggling.
We should be patient and wait because it is possible that the price of bitcoin and altcoin will rise again.

We must recognize that DT's victory does affect the increase in bitcoin, but not lasts long. What is surprising is that the policy carried out by DT for reserves does not seem to get positive responses or even make bitcoin corrected.
It is still too early to see this policy because DT could have carried out a new policy that could eventually provide a good improvement for Crypto. For this reason, we must be a little patient to waiting for things from the policy to be carried out so that Crypto can increase.

Altcoins in the top 10 or 20 according to coinmarketcap maybe have also become like bitcoin, and what this means is that they can not as well give profit in the short term if invested in, but then again, they are also safer (just like bitcoin is) to invest in compared to other Altcoins in the top 200 and above.

Cryptocurrency investment is just like any other investment out there, the higher the risk you take, the higher the potential reward that comes when you win, but the lesser the risk, the lesser the potential reward when you win also.
Personally, I have always preferred to invest in Altcoins much more than I invest in bitcoin, but also one important thing we must never fail to do is to always monitor every Altcoin investment, for anything can happen at anytime..

All matters about the risks tolerance on which if you do prefer on having that much more bigger profits then you would really be that gonna dealing with those riskier coins/tokens in the market on which it would really be that understandable that you would really be that gonna need to handle it out basing or in according to that risks taking. Altcoins would crash soon? This is something an event that you cant be able to avoid and this do really happens on every cycle. For those who do have past experiences then they do already know on what are the things that they should gonna do and to those who are really just that on first time then they would really be having that kind of freaking out specially if they're seeing that their portfolio is dropping down. So it will really be that something situational on this case.

I agree with you that the crypto market has unpredictable moments that do not depend on any particular forecast. At some point even the prices go above the roof, and at other times many an asset is known to have fallen drastically. This phenomenon is an ordinary cycle in the development of the market that occurs from time to time. That’s why those who are active in the crypto world may be excessively used to such a situation and have their own methods of solving this problem. While for those who have invested in the stock for the first time, there is always a high risk that they panic say, whenever prices are falling, they are seeing their investment value decreasing. However, people find ways on how they will deal with this condition based from how much risk they want to take. It can be said that any approach to the market is okay, the principal thing to do is to remain as cool as possible and act in accordance with the level of each person’s preparedness for fluctuations to happen.

Sure the price of a crypto coin is never certain due to volatility except in cases of stable coins which do not make much significant moves. Considering the recent manipulations that have been going on in the market, that has been the reason for the major volatility lately but an investor  with a long term plan shouldn't have any trouble with these price changes because they are but for a little while. The overall movement of bitcoin has been in a uptrend so definitely in few year from now it would become obvious that this is another dump season when compared to the new price. But short terms traders would be the ones to suffer from this market volatility because alot of their trades are going to hit the SL before bitcoin increase further in the next bull run.

Right now it looks like we are still in a ranging period with support at 80K$ and resistance at 88k$ and if there is not much news like some are saying it will probably take a few days before there is a new trend.

But I seem to have heard rumors that there is a recession coming which could cause the market to fall even more in bitcoin and cryptocurrency.
So, if this is true then this is another negative news for others I guess.

Last week, it's all about $85,000, we need to maintain or at least remain in that price otherwise there will be a bullish flag forming. And that's what happened as the price goes down to $82,000.

But I seem to have heard rumors that there is a recession coming which could cause the market to fall even more in bitcoin and cryptocurrency.
So, if this is true then this is another negative news for others I guess.

That's one negative news that really affect the price specially coming from the US. CPI still just borderline, meaning their economy are not doing that good and with that, the investors are very reluctant or even sold their Bitcoin the last week.

Previous years, when Bitcoin and altcoins were much cheaper, people had more positive mood when prices were changing. When Price has dropped from $+60k to $+30k, people were talking less about crash and blamed current president. Bitcoin and other altcoins still cost than they were year ago. Moreover, we have forgotten about market cycles and real bull market. I understand that everyone wants Bitcoin to get back to nice and beautiful price of $100k, but remember that there is no growth without drop or correction.

The movement of Bitcoin is now becoming increasingly difficult to predict. The price shifts or price range created by Bitcoin are too fast. Looking at the one-hour timeframe, Bitcoin's movement is still very aggressive, making people more afraid to buy. In the last two hours, Bitcoin has experienced a 2% change, which is extremely extreme for a one-hour timeframe.

What is even scary about these altcoins is they are not making any growth since Bitcoin refused to be bullish again. Any new altcoin listed on exchange just go flat without doing much and the ones that do push up after some days or weeks turn parabolic and I wonder how people are still bullish on them repeatedly, they ran people to loss most often.

Its better to invest in Bitcoin and have small profit than invest in altcoins that we think will give us that profit we always imagine. If you invest in 10 altcoins today, probably only 2 of them will go up later in the future and may not even conver your loss.

Exactly, it teaches me many things. In the past few years, I have divided my money into several sets. And what's worse is that some altcoins have not even returned to the price when I bought them. There are some coins that are really bad and some have even become dead coins.

Because of that, it will be much better, even with a small capital, and it will be better to just invest in Bitcoin, no doubt, I will put more into Bitcoin when the bears come. And even if I want some altcoins, I will only focus on the top 6 altcoins.

Agreed with the take on what we should invest in and why some of these paths are risky.

Though I prefer BTC more than other alts as a bigger part of my bag, I still honor your choice - to each his own, the most important thing is to manage the risks properly.

That's new projects in a not-so-bullish market for you ;)

I am sorry for the situation that is happening with your altcoin investment where many cannot develop to improve and many have become dead coins. Of course, this is something that hits everyone who makes investments and must be more careful because, indeed, at this time, it is beyond expectations that many altcoins are unable to return to reaching their best price, let alone reach their latest ATH, but there are still altcoins that are able to do it, but it is not surprising.
It is natural for you to suggest investing in bitcoin because it is a very good investment and can always return to a price that provides profit.

You are good if you are still in profit, like if you invested during the Covid days when the price was very low or you invested with money that you can afford to lose.
There was a lot of negativity that surrounded the tariff wars. And this is serious harming the whole market, not only cryptocurrency, but all bad news will eventually end and we will see good news I hope it will be soon.

If you look at the past 7 days, it is true that you said, that bitcoin has increased by around 7.8% and, of course, good news and waiting for another movement to be able to increase.
Agree, there is no need to be afraid, and we go through this with all the patience we have to be able to rise again, and we are waiting for that.
