So the thread is simple, if you were not in your current job or work, what would you have been doing. So let us say you are a doctor right now, if you weren't a doctor, what career would you most likely have pursued. It is interesting to have discussions like this and read people's opinions.

I have my interests in psychology, android stuff and video games — I follow the same during my past time these days. I might have tried to make career out of them if crypto stuff had not work out.
-
there is so many potential careers out there and especially when you are a kid everything seems to be possible but of course you’d soon realize that it’s not the truth and eventually you need to change career paths
being a pilot was one of the dream career path i think a lot of kids dreamt of flying as a superhero so in a plane or in a rocketship are the closest we have

Yeah, i shortly had this dream, but what i mostly dreamt of was to become a footballer, i was good in football and i could play very well, but limitations from where i come from killed that dream. So if i was not doing what i am doing right now, i would probably have become a footballer.

Im a ship crew and if i werent be able to pursue this career then i might be able to go with my next or shall we say that this is my main passion or interest on which i might be dealing up with programming and network engineer on which i could say that this is really that my main interest when it comes to this manner because im really that fond on tinkering things or any which is really that part of my passion and interest on which i could say that i will really be that wanting to have this as my second option if i do have the chance but with the current one then this is where i do make my living or highly dependent on it.

I wanted to be a popular musician but along the line, my parent didn't allow me to become a musician. Instead, I went to school and study a profession but with the ad government in my country, there's no job before I jumped into the crypto space. However, I am happy that I am doing pretty good currently.

My internet shift very often so I don't particular interest right now but I would definitely choose something fancy which is something from very recent times and the pay is based on commission or revenue not a fixed pay. I just now thought why not F1? :o

I would have gone for software engineering, the world is shifting its focus onto technology and this career is one of tbe biggest one with huge pay role. It encompasses computer science and computer engineering but more of the science. I still like my current career because it gives me time and I don't do 9-5 all year, I have time and shift but will definitely love this one.
Another one would be aeronautical engineering, I want to be among people that build autocrafts and jet, the career is one of the most paid job and very rare, these are the two careers I will like to try out if there another chance.

Well, when someone is still a kid he or she will have a great and big dreams, not knowing that is really difficult to fulfill one's wishes. As human beings we all have dreams and aspirations that we always wish to fulfill. Every one use to have a plan in life but life has another plan for us. And I always believe that God knows best, and he will choose the best choice for us that is bigger and greater. If I wasn't what I am today, I would have be a banker because that is what I always wish to become in life. But despite the fact that I couldn't fulfill my dream of becoming a banker, am still greatful for the kind of life am living. Because honestly I have benefit something from cryptocurrency.

There are two careers that come to mind because they are things I loved when I was a little child, and number one is being a jet fighter pilot, the other being a musical artist. If I could magically place myself somewhere, that is where I will be.

career for now is no longer there for me, I am 100% no longer working after having 1 child, but currently I am pursuing culinary and agriculture, where in my days apart from being in crypto I garden and sell food on weekends,

I like to set up my own restaurant if I am not in my current job, but definitely its on my radar. I have two failed restaurant ventures, so if ever I would make a shift later, I have more experiences and learned a lot from these two failed ventures.
Setting up a restaurant is very challenging but very profitable if you got the right formula—a formula that you are on your own.

I'm probably cooking rice meals for the BPO workers in the nearby office building but this time I'm taking over my sister's business selling dried goods and red salted egg. I have learned how to cook them all and have all her contact for the sources of these products.
If I am cooking street food, I would have met a young woman already but I'm stuck to selling red salted eggs and dried fishes. It seem nice business to run and i get to have side job online also after the day.

I remember in those days that i use to pursue after being a medical doctor, later i got to realize that wasn't even my calling in profession, then i felt it was a disappointment for me to h=move ahead in life, for now, aside the digital cryptocurrency i do, i wish becoming a military man, because this was also part of my desire to one day guide and protect the people from the hands of wicked assaults.
-
This is interesting to say, I am the type that mostly engages in activities as the case may be. Sometimes I would like to operate a crane at a work site and I feel I am the engineer operating it whenever I see it and it is a cool career/profession if you may like to know. That aside, agriculture is another thing I love because I love nature and find pleasure in producing crops and livestock.
-
Being a medical doctor has been what I have dreamed of becoming when I was a kid, but due to life challenges and other things, I couldn't pursue that. But I believe some other time in the future, I will go for that "becoming a medical doctor''.
What I know is that it's not really too late for someone to become whatever they want to be in life, as far as there is life

I am a person with a lot of ambition years ago. But to be honest, with the pandemic that came through us. I just want things to be simple. I am still ambitious but I want to be in that position where it is achievable and I can say that I can be that guy with that career if I want to. I am not into those common professional dreams of our parents, doctors, engineers, architects, etc. But I think if I am not in the corporate world, I just want to live continuously being self employed managing businesses and investments. So, maybe an investment banker or portfolio manager.

Congratulations on having a child and good luck in pursuing your culinary adventure and moving into agriculture too, you are really brave and i hope you succeed. It is really nice reading everyone's story here, some of the dreams we didn't achieve may make us sad sometimes, but we must try to be happy in our current careers or endeavors, sending you all hugs and strength.

Hmm, my child is already 3 now, but honestly I still want to have a career in a company to apply the knowledge I have from school, but what can I do, in my country it is difficult to get a job for women who are married and have children, sometimes I feel jealous of the country that still accepts women who already have children but can still be productive to earn income

I think i understand everything you are saying, i wish that at one point you get to pursue the career that you so desire, despite the obstacles you face. In my country women have good opportunities to work just as men do, whether they have children or not, it does not matter; goodluck.

How happy are the women in your country, they can still have a career/work, thank you for your support ,
for the survival of business/entrepreneurship as an option in my country

I think that is the best for now, have a business and be a entrepreneur. And now it's more than easy to sell your product because of the internet. Unlike before wherein it was very hard to break into the system.
So yeah, that is my dream, to have my own business and have a passive income not just for me by for my family and my kids as well. Hopefully, me and my wife can venture to business this year as that is our plans.

Yes, doing business is the most appropriate if the situation for finding work is getting more difficult, keep up the spirit of family fighters, in fact wherever we work, whether it is a personal business or working for someone else, we have a goal, namely to fulfill our life's needs.

Women in my country have the same rights as men, happiness is an individual thing, so i can't say how happy someone i personally don't know is. However, collectively, women in my country go out everyday and chase their dreams like men do, and i wish the same thing for women in your country someday.

Yes, I hope so, where we women can continue our careers even though we are married, have children and are over 25 years old, where we women believe we have the ability to serve the company and even the country, and we can be consistent with our work.

Yeah, that time will come, there are a few countries i know where women were not treated equally, but they have moved past that a bit and women now have certain rights that they did not have before. So there is hope for you and other women in your country, keep the dream alive.

Firstly I would take a computer and connect that with internet and intailly explore about the web development and the blockchain development. And After having few basic knowledge about it I will enroll a course on it to have depth knowledge and I think after dedicading 4 to 6 months on behind of this I think it could be possible to do at least a earn, even the starting could be not satisfying but I won't let hope because I know if a person really give time in a sector for two years he will definitely can earn from there with good amount.

Yes, the dream will still be there, now there are also jobs that can be done from home, and have conditions that I can still follow, only the intention and determination to still want to work or not, even if it's only as a marketer, writing and making articles, I think it doesn't matter if it produces results now,

One carrier that I like to pursue if I have the chance will be a pilot because am someone who love the sky and would love to explore the skies and see how it really looks traveling across the skies and seeing the beautiful universe from the skies is one experience I would love to have because seeing house's or people from the skies and how everything in the world is. The experience of moving the plane in the skies one of the best ideas that man has been able to come up with in the revolutionary trend of man is one thing I would love to have apart from my present occupation

That is a good one, i used to wish to be a pilot when i was younger, but as i grew up, i discovered that i didn't really like flying like i thought i did when i was younger. I have anxiety when i enter planes while traveling, i cannot even wait for the plane to land, it is that bad, i wish there was something i could do to ease that anxiety.

There are some requirements or qualifications that you may need to before either enrollment for the program or starting the course and of a true one must go for an eye test and other mental check up to know if you are qualified to enroll on that program.
Even if you want to study it as a course in school before passing the exams there are check up you should pass and you fails the physical qualifications then you wouldn't be allowed to proceed for the course.

I am sure it is not easy to be a pilot, because you are flying hundreds of people thousands of feet above the ground. But just like other professions too, i.e. it is not also easy to be a doctor, because your job is to save lives, or a lawyer, because you have to get justice for people or send criminals to prison.
-
The goal of life is to acquire what is necessary for human life. For example, may be money, wealth, social status, power etc. So different people choose different ways to achieve these. It may be doctor, engineer, businessman anything else. My dream was to become a pilot but i failed with the change of time. But life needs money to run which is why i am now working in business as well as crypto. We can never stop because dreams require hard work and you can travel any road.

Back when I was little, in school I was asked what do you want to become when you grow up and I replied, "engineer". I didn't even knew what it meant.
I do think that one needs to be at certain age to know what he wants to do in life, and even if one may think that he wants to do particular thing in life, still one's opinion can be changed as he progresses to particular career path to some extent and realizes that this is not it.
