I read from the forum Bitcointallk this link (in Italian) of the scam made by Milei against people
https://www.ilsole24ore.com/art/argentina-milei-accusato-aver-promosso-cripto-frode-AGbEVjxC?refresh_ce=1
In practice he promoted a scam coin that made Rugpull and people lost millions
I don't know if it is true I ask for confirmation here, while the control what they have to say

Milei is the same profile of political scammer like Trump.
They both created scam memcoins and they are both pretending to be freedom fighters, but I doubt any of them will be actually arrested, unless that is a part of same political circus.
Never trust politicians, they are all paid and controlled puppets.
-
There were some users who are saying that it was proven that Javier Milei was paid to promote this Libra before its listing on exchanges and then the rugpull happened. This is damaging to a politician's career, its said he is a very popular person, he is the one they call chain saw president and he is a Bitcoin supporter too.
Sad to see he promoted a wrong project. No theory yet whether this is a set up by a political rival?
-
He promoted Libra on X and deleted it a few hours later, saying that he didn't know the details of the project and after he found out, he deleted it, lol, who promotes what he does not know about, that is how scammers defend themselves. He may be charged for this, because so many people invested in this shitcoin because he promoted it, and they were rugpulled.

True, you're not saying a bullshit..i agree with you
Scammer always look for a way to escape from their responsibility, I say to myself even if you were not in bad faith (I see it difficult) check the projects you speak of
Or simula who have hacked your account, a little intelligence goes..

This is real but I think it was not Milei intentions to get his public lose money as he might not be aware of the nature of the project but still promoted it and even said I have no direct relation with the owner of Libra like he owns nothing but with little knowledge about crypto he would have known that 70% of the tokens are held by the project owner.
He should have not promoted this token in the first place it was a generic mistake but now as I read on news he has made it to the political investigator to slow the investigation by different means.

I have watched a couple of interviews related to this, and it seems that the President of Argentina has nothing to gain from it and is washing his hands with it. A lot of people have lost money because of this, and they are trying to get him impeached.
The one who facilitated the token launch has money on it and sets it so that they have sniped their coin. What's happening in the crypto space is crazy.

Yes, it is not only unfortunate, but it is also painful and a farce that the president of a large country promotes a fraudulent meme that has caused people to lose millions of dollars and then refuses to even apologize to these victims.
In a TV interview with the Argentine president, he said, refusing to apologize, "If you go to the casino and lose your money, what is the complaint?" And about promoting the fraudulent scheme, he said, refusing the accusation: "I did not promote the scheme, I only posted it, through my personal account" ???!!! Here the broadcaster interrupted him, saying: "But you are the president, sir" !!!
We have reached a very bad time, worse than the ICO projects in 2017, where presidents promote fraudulent memes, I think it is time to get rid of these memes.

He really said this?
I'm amazed how straightforward this is but still people will look at his posts as if it comes from a very trusted person. The fact that it turned out to be a very bad investment for those who bought the Libra, he also make it clear the investors gambled and lost.
According to some post in twitter Milei's cousin is among those who convinced him to promote Libra. Don't quote me on this one because I just read this on twitter thread also which Its buried down the replies already.

Well, I think President Javier Milei has no intention of deceiving everyone, he is just too gullible and inexperienced in approaching crypto. Hastily endorsing a new token through X is very naive, he did not foresee the consequences or he forgot the responsibility of a President of a nation when engaging on X.
I don't blame Javier Milei, I believe he is also a victim of this scam, I hope he will not have to face overly severe punishments. I think other politicians around the world should also pay attention and learn something from this incident to avoid similar mistakes in the future.

I’m not entirely sure but I saw it on some Telegram channels but it’s a reliable channel and I think it’s true.
I also read allegations about the involvement of the president’s sister where CoinDesk reported that Hayden Davis, CEO of "Kelsier Ventures" and co-creator of the Libra launch, claimed in text messages that he paid money to "Karina Milei", sister of Argentine President Javier Milei, in exchange for political influence.

People always fall for most of theses get rich quick meme coin frency, even Trump coin failed, just two weeks ago, plus many other unfortunately, there are too many newbies investors who are obviously desperate to earn fast profit at all cost. It is a pity this meme coin has dumped, it has happened, we must carry on.
In addition, meme coins is currently where investors are pushing their funds, rather than utility tokens, i just hope that investors should change their opinions about meme investments in near future.

Either this could be the works of his political enemies and he's just stupid to fall for this or he took complete advantage of his popularity. I mean a person who is supposed to be pro bitcoin should at least have an idea of the market. Crypto scams aren't new.

I cannot be sure that he had no intention of deceiving people, but being gullible is also not an excuse, because he knows how big his influence is. Why promote a coin you are not sure of and then delete the post after sometime, that is fishy to me.
I think other politicians around the world should also pay attention and learn something from this incident to avoid similar mistakes in the future.
Presidents around the world do not even go around promoting shitcoins, though i don't forget that Donald Trump also launched a shitcoin weeks back and made money off a lot of gullible people.

he just shot himself in the foot while his other counterparts aka other presidents in their continent are genuinely interested in incorporating crypto and bitcoin to their financial systems in hopes of helping their economy, milei has made an enemy of the crypto community and his citizens how are his people to trust him or crypto now after what he has done?
I don't know if it is true I ask for confirmation here, while the control what they have to say
bbc (https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c1w07nq8qqqo)has reported it though he says that he was acting in good faith whether this is true or not, he still promoted something without proper research and he should have known better as president of a country

I mean, he was already involved in a ponzi scam a few years ago, he surely knows how this stuff works and took advantage of this position as savior of Argentina and the free market crazy guy which lots of people like to get some quick bucks.
Now dude risks getting impeached for that, sucks (or not) to Argentina’s population.

Then he is really lying, and this evidence will be brought up once the impeachment proceeding happens. He should know that he is now the president; he should be responsible for what he is promoting, and he should only promote well-established projects like Bitcoin and post a disclaimer.
He brought his downfall and many investors will come forward to charge him of promoting scam.

Libra is another memecoin and come to think of it...what do you expect from a memecoin in the first place? People who are investing in memecoins are already aware of the risk in this investment vehicle. The only problem with Libra is that President Milei of Argentina got involved maybe him without really aware of the possible consequences. I am not really sure if Milei is going to be facing political ill-effects on his own country based on this alone as he is still popular in Argentina and they don't have an alternative politician that can go against this guy. The big lesson here is for politicians to steer away from endorsing any crypto project most especially a memecoin. As to Trump, the project he endorsed has not rugpulled it is still there and if people are complaining based on its price then they should know what they are into...this is crypto and even memecoin at that so anything can happen.

Its why I ask in the beginning of this thread whether no political party got involve to accuse the Argentinean president. This man had so many enemies because he shutdown a lot of government agencies.
Politics is very dirty already and then the media is mixing with it which the media could really destroy someone else reputation despite not being true to what they are saying.

Next we're going to have presidents endorsing horse medicine to cure viral diseases...oh wait! ;D
Would you let a company in your town use your image and post on your account how great they are without ever using them?
Even if he was too gullible, do you need a gullible and inexperienced guy running a country?

It sounds to me like people who put this puppet in power, and that was certainly not the people with voting circus, really wanted to totally destroy Argentina
while selling everyone the story how he is reducing inflation, and he loves bitcoin and freedom.
Don't forget that he also sent all gold reserves of Argentina to some foreign country not long ago.
I don't understand why anyone was surprised with his libra scam project.

What a stupid excuse is that. You don't know the details of a coin but you tweeted about it, knowing fully well that you are a figure(president), people will easily buy into what you say.
It's like he don't know that the crypto space will never forgive him of this that he rugpulled his country citizens because of his simple tweet he claims he knows nothing about the scam project(I doubt).
