Nigeria as a country has been having challenges when it comes to her economy which has resulted in the increase of cost of living in the country with inflation rate at it highest peak ever.
Every day our politicians speak Big grammar about how they will make changes and make our economy work but every day that passes the situation is getting worst by the day,but looking critically at our Nigerian society I have come to the realization that we are not yet ready for economic prosperity or growth as a country, because there are factors that will determine if a country is to have economic prosperity such factors includes
Having a good security system because security is critical to the economy of any country
Good road network_ for any country to have economic prosperity then they need to create good roads for easy transportation
Political stability_ for any country to have a good economy then the political sector of that country must be stable because when ever there is crisis in the political sector of a country it will be hard for such a country to have economic prosperity, political stability also includes the level or kind of politics that is been played in a country wether the politicians are sincere about developing the country or is the Nigerian kind of politicians that are not concerned about how they will improve the economic situation of the country

You're not wrong about the need for the government to really invest in the basic requirements for a good place to invest, and unfortunately our government has failed in that aspect. They've completely ignored these things and are busy embezzling or even investing in projects that are unrelated and unattractive to foreign investors who should come in and improve the economic activities of people around. This is a problem for our country and will always be a problem so long as we have corrupt leaders in power.

Corruption in the government is found to be one of the biggest challenges of development for any given nation. As such, where there is corruption, the spoilt funds that should have been used in the construction of new infrastructures or improving education and generally boosting up the economy are embezzled and thus directly affecting the people. Such factors also deter foreign investors from investing if they observe policy unsustainability and insufficiency regarding the clarity of the budgeting practises in those countries. Alas, this is rather discouraging; yet when one condition is attained, there is way to alter the situation. If the system has been broken and people are disillusioned, simple education on the need to be an active part of the process will help. It is high time to require wiser leaders and the political parties to fund the policies that bring change for the better, and therefore there is a chance to turn the wheels of the economy once again in a healthier and more equal manner.

The big fat truth is that the politicians don't care if we die of hunger or poverty, if they really did they wouldn't even be involved with the embezzlement of public funds, and all sort of corruption. Their interest is rather on enriching themselves and their family member notthing more. So as citizens in this kind of situation all we have to do is help ourselves by learning various valuable skills which will help us scale away from poverty. God help us all.

Nigeria just like any other country has the ability to achieve economic prosperity, but the problem we are facing is basically our leader, sorry to say this but they have failed us in every way possible, even though we are wealthy in diverse natural resources we are still in the shadows and not at the fore front of economic prosperity. First and foremost we have failed to achieve economic prosperity because our leader have failed in investing their time and money on the right things, imagine our leaders investing heavily, financially on themselves and their fellow politicians all in the name of them being our leaders, all this money if just a little portion is channeled towards rebuilding our oil refineries or helping the unemployed youth and so on , I personally believe that there would be a rapid boost in our economy. Am not saying that the leaders shouldn't be paid or given their allowances every month but the amount should be reduced and then channeled towards enriching the lives of citizens, if this is done I know that at least one of the problems facing Nigeria as a country which may be robbery, kidnapping, theft, Internet fraudster, will be curbed.

fixing the politics i think should be the priority first before dealing with those roads. when US started, they build the railroad from east to west as far as history says. they said the railroad is the backbone of the county.
but i think the politics should be the first to fix since Nigeria isn't starting. it has to be renewed. having a real true ruler that everyone would obey will be perfect. someone like Nayib Bukele.

Corruption is actually the very first thing that needs to be considered and curbed in order to reduce the rate of corruption in the country. There are a lot of happenings every now and then that are eating up resources and the things that should anchor economic stability but it seems no one is concerned.
The political office these days is like a struggle for greener pastures and self benefitting things instead of a thrive to building the economy.

Well, even if they present themselves as Nayib Bukele there’s still a high chance that they’ll change when they finally get into power - fixing the political section in Nigeria is going to take a whole lot. And now away universities politics have started adopting the same ideology of the Nigeria politics you’ll see leaders of tomorrow already manipulating school election results saying quotes like “politics is a dirty game” while you’re still in school.
It’s actually scary how these younger generations are being brought up - I feel they’d do more than we're currently experiencing if not properly addressed.

Corruption is more of a general problem so assuming it as a problem of the leaders is quite bias since even if these younger generations like you said were to be put into those places they would likely still do the same thing these current leaders are doing.
Most people feel cheated by the system which is true though, however they also feel the need to cheat the system too if they eventually get such positions that's why the corruption is like an endless loop.

if there is no populist that can unite a large land, it would be very hard to unite them for it will take a conqueror to do it. i should know my country been in political horror since even today. aren't there a personality like Mandela in the country? someone where everybody respects?
the country has improved as far as i know, i have seen movies out from Nigeria i see them on netflix. it shows that the country is showing off their culture to the world.

Very well said. Personally I don't think corruption can completely the eradicated from the country, it can only be reduced. Cause like a termite it has deeply eaten into the system, at every level of the country there is corruption coming from our leader down to the judiciary, the legislature etc. Basically I believe that if proper incorruptible disciplinary committee are set up to severely punished corrupt individuals or leaders irrespective of your status then I think corruption will be reduced

I will say that the wrong people are the ones in power and the only solution is to get rid of them. If not the problem is continue. Can you imagine that the government are using it as a competition who will steal more than the other when in power. Tinubu government is the worst so far that has been in power.

That is correct because stealing of public funds is the order of the day with government officials acquiring more wealth by collecting the funds ment for the development of the society that they are ment to develop the problem here is the it's not easy getting rid of them because the will to remove them from office is not in the power of the common man because wether you like it or not any one the political class has projected to be in power will definitely win because our votes doesn't really matter when it comes to deciding our future as a people

People must learn to be independent on their own, they have to stop depending on their governments to help them through a sustainable living, because things are not like this from right from the start, but each day we keep on discovering that our economy is getting more worse than before, which inflation is one of the major reason why things keep going this way, therefore we must learn to understand about the reality of life, being self sustainable and being independent, this will then help us move forward in life.

Very well said. Economic prosperity of a country is determined solely by the kind of political leader that a country has. If the sole aim of the leader is to embezzle mine and enrich himself, it will be very difficult for that country to attain economic prosperity. To attain economic prosperity the leader has to totally concern himself with the welfare of the citizens, so as to understand the plights of citizens. [ Invalid YouTube link ]

Exactly, wrong people are the ones controlling or ruling the country. And they are aged, they are not physically fit, and I don't think they are psychologically and emotionally fit, due to their current situation because I'm even sure that their interaction with people will be low, because they don't have more energy to carry on the responsibilities. Their thinking is low, so why don't we give the youths chance and opportunity to be on power to know what they are capable of doing and what they can contribute to our country. Bad government is one of the major things that is causing a lot of challenges we are facing in the country. What you said is absolutely right, governments are competing on power to get the title of the most smartest thief. Instead of them to focus on the growth and development of the country, and economic stability and financial stability of the citizens.

You're right because leaders are the once with the responsibility of making critical decisions especially as I concerns the economy of the country so if the leaders not not concerned about the development of a country it will be difficult for such a country to develop, Nigeria as a country the kind of leaders that we have have decided that we should not develop so there is nothing that is going to be fine about that the leaders are the once going to decides the future of the country

Alright, but the future can as well be decided by the citizens, we have the power to bring in and remove any leader we want through our electoral right, even with the way the country is going presently there are still some citizens that are still backing up and supporting the present day government because of little incentives they tend to receive from them, we the citizens lack a common voice, if we did we wouldn't be a victim of some things we are suffering today

Unfortunately, this is the state of affairs at the moment, which is why we have not advanced in any area of development—economic, technological, or human. Our budgets always look lovely on paper, but putting those plans into action is never easy because the people running the various development channels are there to further their own interests.
We will continue to deteriorate until people appointed to government positions start considering qualifications and integrity rather than political affiliation or ethnic sentiment. After all, the country's instability stems from the decision of who will run the treasury, not because they wish to advance the country but rather because they want to enrich themselves by embezzling public funds.
