Title: What a Week! Scandals, Hacks, and Market Swings
Post by: Jujuboy on March 03, 2025, 04:44:47 AM
A meme coin scandal involving a nation-state, a record-breaking exchange hack, and wild market swings last week was nothing short of chaos!

The crypto space never sleeps, and it definitely keeps us on our toes. How are you all holding up after this rollercoaster of a week?

And this week the market seems to be back on track most especially for Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, Solana and ADA which will comprised the announced crypto strategic reserve under the trump administration. Although there are still many things to work on this plan and proposal and may need the approval for Congress for this to really steamrolled, the market reaction has been so positive. And I am not actually wondering why all because we know that crypto is very volatile...it can launch a rocket to the moon (or maybe Mars, if you like) or it can send down like a raging lightning down. Last week I was sad because I was trapped when Bitcoin hit the $80K zone though I know deep inside that things will be back soon...and I am  proven right. Let's just  hope there can be no another big crash this month of March though there is really no guarantee in this moving market.

What did I miss? What is the meme coin scandal involving a nation state?
Volatility has been the basis of the market for a long time and without it trading would not be active 24/7 so it is mainly related to cryptocurrencies.
The scam that is happening now is one pump up and a continuous correction.

This is the reason why cryptocurrency is full of uncertainty and the market is highly volatile. There are many dramas and surprises, but it's still great to be part of it. You'll definitely miss what's happening if you take a day off.
You should not have an emotional attachment to coins, projects, and events if you want to be safe in a roller coaster ride brought about by what's happening in the market.

Nothing new, we are used to market fluctuations to the point that it has become something normal that does not cause any strangeness, so it is normal to see all these fluctuations.

The market is highly linked to the news, as any negative news such as the collapse of the presidential meme coins or the hacking of the Bybit exchange leads to a significant decline in prices.

On the other hand, there are positive news such as the decision of the US strategic reserve of cryptocurrencies, which led to the return of the market recovery, this is the nature of the market and nothing strange.

How am I holding up? By staying away from all the chaos and drama and chilling while making a few trades on the most reputable cryptocurrencies with low leverage and taking small profits, forgetting about everything else. That's how you deal with such stuff. You can't control the market, so you gotta accept what's in front of you and make good use of it, and that's what I'm doing.

The crypto market is always dramatic, and that's what we should love about it. What's the fun if there is no drama? When there is no FUD or negative or positive stuff happening around, there isn't much volatility, and that means less opportunities for us to trade and make profit.

If you are good with handling the pressure, you won't be worried about the swings and waves. :)

No doubt, crypto market price volatility, and fluctuations are obviously some the characteristics of the crypto economy, it considered a normal situation, and no cause for fear.
As you know, every market fluctuate at intervals, it is a proof of the demand and supply activities on the market everyday.
In facts, when there are demand, there will be a corresponding supply on the market, and without these factors like, trading/investing, or buying and selling, there will not be a completed market trends or activities over times. In a nutshell, the crypto market is a 24/7 buying and selling of crypto assets.

Crypto is not for the faint-hearted, if you can not withstand the storm do not bother to come near. Being in crypto, you just have to devise a means to be on guard, if you can not crawl, you must tiptoe, if you cannot tiptoe, you must run and if you can not run you must fly. Either way, you must belong to one category to safe guard your self for the race. It is either you hit or you get hit.

So far, the journey in crypto has not been easy,  everyone here definitely has experiences and I could tell that it broadened my knowledge and understanding of how the industry works. Believe me, the happenings around, make you get hard skin to know what to do at times.

- Argentina's president backs a pump and dump
- President of CAR launches a pump and dump meme coin
And plenty more

When you've been through one or two cycles, these sort of things become a common occurrence and you feel immune already. Some new/unique things happened this year but I actually thought they are still small compared to the previous crashes. Looking forward to the next craziness ;D

Exactly, even if we are in the bull run, there could be a lot of surprises, even negative news. And as we move forward and evolved, there will be new news that will affect the market negatively.

But it seems to settle down already, we've regain $90,000 and there is one big positive news that everyone is waiting. And this is about this Friday's summit on the White House and there are noises in the background that Trump might announcement how Bitcoin and other cryptos as US strategic reserves. And if this turns out to be positive, then we will see 6 digits again and we might see the biggest green candles since Trump was declared the winner.

You're so right! People's vibes about the market can flip fast especially with big news like politics or money stuff. If that Friday rumor is real, I bet bitcoin could take off but i am not jumping in blind just yet. Short term ups and downs are wild but I think the big picture like more people using it and rules settling in is what'll really matter. Let's watch what happens and stick to the good sources for updates!

Nothing new for a old customer this is not a big deal  :D but for newbie it is big deal and many have lost their funds and liquidated themselves long ago, future traders lost most in these market trends and these trends were really unexpected.

The whole two months very bullish and bearish at the same time and this never happened before too. Market really never sleeps and give big goosebumps to all of us but only persistant ones holds and make good profit.

Crypto really never sleeps even when it is consolidating, people are making profit and market keeps moving, only the flow becomes either slow or fast, I am holding on great with this rollercoaster but I want this to stop hehe because I can't tolerate more.

Market is too boring, I am in great lose, and maybe many others too, people are waiting for big pump, this reserve thing can be the next big news we can see in the upcoming days, I hope this news will take this rollercoaster to a new height, and then I want to exit the rollercoaster at the very top hehe.

Market is really a big rollercoaster.

You are right, for those who have been here for a long time it is not a big problem, because in the past we were also used to something big happening, but for those who are new of course this is something very surprising and even causes problems for them.

This is why the crypto world is always interesting, and even if we miss it for one day, the next day we are already behind on new news.  ;D

Yes, just enjoy the process in this crypto, surprises after surprises will always be there with a calm brush and following the storyline of the process is a struggle where we want a greater value than btc, as long as there is money, that can be spent on the best coins, then don't give up your intentions when the peak of the bullrun in this session comes

Meme coins are mostly scandals and those who make money with such coins know that. I'm basically talking about Solana based meme coins.

The market went down and that's true but I can see the market recovering a little bit. Personally, I don't think this month is going to be much bullish.

I expect April to be a bullish month for the market.

So everything is going to be fine  ;)

What is there to enjoy in people losing money and getting scammed?
Are you a sadist who doesn't care a bit how lives are ruined just because you think your pockets are full of money?
Is this shitty attitude that has turned millions away from crypto recently, get out of your bubble and see what normal people the ones who you expect to invest in crypto are saying about this.

Well after my funds ran out from successive rugpulls and stuff from hyped memes I missed those that really get investors into millions even with just a small amount of investments. After such mess of mine I stayed away from the market and just moved on and find something else that one day may give me a stable income and I wish this works.

It's been a habit for the past few years, and the events of the past week are really not much different from the previous ones... I'm sure everyone is fine right now... those who are experiencing losses should be confident that this kind of market is temporary, there will be a time for a rebound...

Volatility is still a trait that is both loved and hated by many people in this world... the risk is high, but the rewards offered are also high... that's how crypto gets its fans... and I think the market volatility will continue, everyone will start to get used to this kind of volatility.

The shifts in the markets may appear very dynamic and dramatic but this is something that we have come to expect. Even in the current environment, it is not uncommon to feel the instability or volatility because markets are generally dynamic and fluctuating which makes it hard to know when the high or the low periods are coming. There will be an improvement as time goes on and we are confident to say that although it may be tough at the moment, it is a phase everyone has to go through in their life as it will pave way for better opportunities ahead. This very high volatility is the reason why many people invest in the crypto market because there is an opportunity behind it despite the dangers. In this way, as we go through this process we are being prepared for changes which might occur in the future.

In my experience, news in crypto is almost every day. Let alone in a week because every second there is also bad news and good news.
Since then I began to understand that the price of crypto is greatly influenced by news, whether it is bad or good. And I am sure that OP will one day understand that market swings, drama, news will have an impact on the crypto market.
Maybe in my opinion OP does not have much experience in crypto because the basics of good and bad news have been present since Bitcoin was created, as far as I know, besides good and bad news, public figures also greatly influence crypto prices. Cmiiw

I've noticed how crypto prices can go wild based on news, good stuff, bad stuff, whatever some big name says on X or new rules popping up. It used to stress me out, but after a while, you start spotting patterns in these ups and downs, it's just how the market rolls. I used to lose it over every headline that showed up but now I just shrug it off and look at the bigger stuff like what's really going on and what I can piece together myself. i keep up with things but I don't let the craziness get to me anymore and honestly, it's made me way better at figuring out what to do in this nuty crypto life.

Actions that affect the price are the way to go for a broader picture.

That means you also realize that famous people who have social media accounts and have lots of followers really influence the Bitcoin market, right?

Because you are used to bad and good news, you also become immune to what has happened in the crypto market so far.
Many proverbs say, if you want to create a strong sword, the iron that is forged must also be strong and burned for a very long time. That's what has happened to us so far when we started to know crypto and live with crypto.

i keep up with things but I don't let the craziness get to me anymore and honestly, it's made me way better at figuring out what to do in this nuty crypto life.
The point is to follow the flow of information, technology or any knowledge in crypto every second because if we miss even 1 second in this crypto then the result is that we lose the moment to get profit.
It could also be that if we are not self-aware then we become an easy target for those who work as hackers.

It is true that when a thief escapes our intelligence increases, which is why we rush to buy any meme coin associated with the name of a famous person. Many people bought the Trump meme coin when its price was at its highest. Everyone expected that Trump Coin could go as high as $100, so everyone invested in this coin without reviewing its viability. However, currently most of the meme coins are falling in the pump and dump market. Because there is no development activity and all these meme coins are run by weak communities. The only reason for the instability of this market is meme coin scamming which is why investors are stuck.

months now if there are others in their holdings.

Right now, we see that most altcoins are still in the red in terms of the market, while the price of bitcoin is rising slowly right now, and we don't know yet if it will continue while we don't see any good news in the coming days.

I sense OP could be a good poetry if he is into doing such, because from the way of how i saw his little but simple presentation made, regarding crypto which is the main area of focus here, we cant overemphasize on the way of its market volatility, not to now diversify towards how hacks and scandal occurs in the same vein, all still talking on the focus of how a volatile cryptocurrency could be managed and achieved with best goal avoiding all odds.

You should not have an emotional attachment to coins, projects, and events if you want to be safe in a roller coaster ride brought about by what's happening in the market.

In facts, if there are means or opportunity of earning substantial income on the regular basis, there are bound to be illegitimate activities, that will he associated with it. Since many people heard the open opportunity to become rich on the crypto economy, many criminal activities has been witnessed, there arevscammers, hackers, kidnapping for ransom payments, pumps and dumps scheme etc.
I think crypto has generated a lot of awareness and buzz globally which has also contributed the market volatility over the years and has become part of the ecosystem. It is advicable to learn how cryptocurrency works, to archive your plans.

That's a fact, because of the opportunity to get big profits in crypto, this is what makes many hackers, scammers looking for prey, we must always be careful in making transactions and always keep the wallet we have.
because that's the reality we see.

I also understand that the world of crypto is not only about the prospects but also the threats emerging from different sides. A lot of people set the eyes on the greater earning without knowing that the risks like hackers and fraudsters are around the corner. They are in search of how more to exploit other people’s carelessness, either through scams, hacking, or Digi wallets. Therefore, being conscious of security is something that one has to be sensitive to at all times. The chance of being prey for the wrong people in each deal and the chance of guarding one’s interests also lowers when one is very careful.

Most of the coins I have invested in are trustable coins and are unlikely to suddenly disappear. And this is the main reason why I can continue holding.
Like my most of the investment on the Bitcoin and the rest are on  alternative coins like BNB, polygon, ton etc. And this is why I can feel more safe on holding without facing losses by making them sell. If I say something about Bitcoin at least it will be never  disappear

top coins are always the main choice for investors in investing in crypto, because these coins have been proven and still survive until now.
The coins you mentioned BNB, polygon, ton are quite good, I also have ethereum, solana and XRP in my wallet.
Diversification is very much needed in investing in crypto so that we can have more opportunities, as many people suggest

In fact, diversification can really have a positive impact. But if I talk about myself, so far I have never made a profit by diversifying my investment in altcoins, but here I am just making losses on losses.
And currently my situation has become such that I will not invest in altcoins again in the future. Although there is no guarantee of this because I have said such a situation many times before, even then I shamelessly went to invest in altcoins again. And at the end I will say one thing don't make any investment without having the proper knowledge of trading if not then you will also have to face loss and loss even you do diversification on  your investment.

What is there to enjoy in people losing money and getting scammed?
Are you a sadist who doesn't care a bit how lives are ruined just because you think your pockets are full of money?
Is this shitty attitude that has turned millions away from crypto recently, get out of your bubble and see what normal people the ones who you expect to invest in crypto are saying about this.
not sadistic buddy, he asked how are you? yes I answered just enjoy it, there is something wrong with me, do I need to say how much I lost, it doesn't matter how big my pocket is, you are not the only one who lost and suffered losses

I can imagine how stressful it could be for one to have to handle a situation in which something meant to bring in revenue has the opposite effect. It is quite normal for people experiencing such setbacks over and over again to feel dissatisfied and at last get to a point when they quit. Still, I do not see anything wrong with taking a step back if I think it is the right thing to do. Every person has his capacity in judging what is expedient to continue struggling for or convenient to quit a plan or goal. The most important thing that one can remember is that it should not happen again but then again it is a lesson which was learnt. The decisions you make might indeed be made with due process and that is good enough to be used as a reason even if you are not fully too sure. Perhaps the topics could help facilitate a starting point for defining better directions for further, in whatever way it will be.

A meme coin scandal involving a nation-state, a record-breaking exchange hack, and wild market swings last week was nothing short of chaos!

The crypto space never sleeps, and it definitely keeps us on our toes. How are you all holding up after this rollercoaster of a week?

Agreed through and through.

There is no panic if you chose the right ways to invest.

And there are no nerves to it (almost ;)).
