altcoins such as xrp and solana etfs are delayed by sec to may 2025
etfs were a good sign of altcoin increasing adding to trump’s announcement that he will include some altcoins to the national reserve but now since the etfs are meant to be delayed can we expect that the altcoin season will be delayed too?
according to this article (https://coinfomania.com/sec-stalls-xrp-solana-etfs-whats-behind-the-delay/), delays are normal and we shouldn’t panic but surely this has consequences and might make some investors fear regardless

Do not think ripple and solana ETFs delay will be the cause of delay in altseason. I hope most of you people that are highly optimistic about altseason will not be disappointed. I will advice you not to expect any altseason even if both ETFs are approved by the United States SEC. After ether ETF, is their anything good about ether in relation to its price? Ether even disappointed people. I see 2024 as altseason.

I almost forgot about ETFs die to reserve news and I think reserve news is bigger than ETFs because ETFs won't attract much investors but Reserves will and it already has pumped those tokens when Trump shared the news.
If Reserves will be approved, then ETF will automatically be approved and combined it is a bigger news then before, Obviously for many it was already a bigger news but I just realized it now hehe.

I also don't believe that the postponement of the launch of XRP and Solana ETFs will delay the altcoin season. We may not see the altcoin season this cycle, or perhaps, as some say, it's already over since some altcoins surged recently.
I'm not optimistic about the start of the altcoin season, even with the announcement of the strategic reserve including XRP and Solana, and even if altcoin ETFs are approved. As we can see, despite the announcement of the strategic reserve for Bitcoin, the price hasn't risen much; on the contrary, it has fallen.
-
Price increase for the coins with pending approval will be delayed but for other altcoins, it might be delayed forever ;D I mean I don't expect the new ETFs to spearhead the altcoin season because we all know it's still BTC that commands the market.

Yes, of course, we could not expect all things to be following a timeline...delays are just normal most especially if connected with government and its decision-making process. The most important thing for XRP and Solana is that their ETF filings are being considered and can be decided on May. Now, this delay has nothing to do with the most-awaited altseason to happen...there is no connection whatsoever as altseason will come even if there is no ETFs approved for both assets. Right now, the chance for the altseason to happen within 2025 seems to be fading but we should still keep the faith as surprises are very much the norm in cryptocurrency industry. In addition, am quite happy that SEC is not closing its door to both Solana and XRP having their own ETFs too, providing investors with more choices when getting involved with cryptocurrency indirectly.

OP, from the article you have provided as the source, I want to quote something crucial,
Seyffart added,
“This does not lower our chances of approval, which remain fairly strong. It’s also important to remember that the final deadlines for these decisions are set for October.”

Altcoins season and ETF approval has nothing related, while ETF track the value of Bitcoin/altcoins and trade on traditional market exchanges rather than cryptocurrency exchange, altcoins season is expected to follow the Bitcoin circle when dominance is lower, at list, 45% rate to trigger the altcoins season.
Sol, Xpr ETF can only increase demands to some extent, unfortunately, ETF can not trigger altcoins season. All past altcoins season were not linked with ETF, and the anticipated altcoins season will always follow the circle when dominance rate decreases

ETFs are just an excuse for business owners and their companies to use crypto with traditional Wall Street methods of making even more money.
There is nothing to see here, especially since the hype train for ETFs died down in 2024. Which gets a "good riddance" from me, because these sort of things do not benefit individual crypto users.

The exchange traded funds ( ETF) is not dead yet, everything now depends on new SEC managements. You see, 2024 had different persons in charge of SEC activities, we should be hoping for more activities in terms of ETF registration and approvals on certain crypto assets applications that are pending approvals. I think that the current SEC has started making progress, and the Donald Trump's new regime will make much difference in my opinion.

yeah i do not think that etfs are delayed at all when in fact bitcoin and ethereum etfs have been seeing a lot of in flows lately of course the market is generally not doing well right now but the past data have shown that many people are indeed interested in buying crypto although it is through etfs
but bitcoin and ethereum etfs are different from altcoin etfs and who knows how altcoins etfs will perform when it does get approved i just think that the delay can also have some impact on the long awaited altcoin season that has not really been realized yet

The delay will not have any effect on altseason. Only what I speculated is that 2024 was the altseason. There are too many coins now. Do not expect all altseason again until 2027/2028..
Also when ether ETF was approved, ether disappointed people more which is another thing to consider.

Without a clear regulatory framework, I don't expect more ETFs to be approved anytime soon, especially given the market's current saturation and the availability of investment vehicles for both Bitcoin and Ethereum. Therefore, I don't expect anything to happen until the end of the year.

Well, I'm interested in @bitterguy28 question, seems like there's a bit of an issue. I don't think the SEC is trying to delay Spot ETFs for XRP - SOL - ADA - LTC... for any reason. The SEC needs time to thoroughly review these proposals before officially approving them. We want to see Spot ETFs for ALTs to trigger altseason, but everything takes time!
I can't predict the impact that new Spot ETFs will have on this market. We've seen the existence and relative success of the ETH Spot ETF, but the ETH price has dropped back to around $2K instead of creating a new ATH and hitting $10K as many investors expected. I believe the market has its own logic, I wouldn't even be surprised if ALTs Spot ETFs are just something whales use to extend their distribution zone later this year ^^

ETH is considerably expensive though and the POS is not attractive anymore. It sends ETH more to its centralization but maybe this is how they manipulate the market these days by delaying and sometimes fast forwarding it.
If they need more time to accumulate XRP or SOL, they wuld have to make speculators believe its going to happen a year later and most people will likely not get into them yet while there is no approved ETF yet.

Gary Gensler is gone to the kingdom come so the current SEC is really different and with a different orientation and mindset while still pursuing the job that they should be doing in the cryptocurrency industry. I am sure there are reasons for the delay of ETF applications for both Solana and XRP...and in fact this delay can be for the good of both assets because the market is really down and nobody knows when it would be back on track. While there may not anymore be gargantuan benefits of having these ETFs approved, I still believe that this is sending a big message that these assets are considered to be solid and worth investing with.

It would appear the timing might just be good since they are saying the tariff war is going to fastforward the decline of USD and Bitcoin will replace it being the safest heaven asset.
If ETF is approved this May 2025 while the bullish momentum is kicking, then season will probably come for the altcoins with ETF to rise. Its probably time to stack up some of them to max profit.

This month is April and next is May, so I don't see any delay here. Anything that will still happen this year is not a delay. So, let's be optimistic that there will still be an altcoins season.
But then ETF is not something that will drive the altcoins season, we should be looking at strategic reserve as a factor to push the market.

i do not know if trump had any plans on adding cryptocurrency this year but his announcements have been an implication that it will happen this year i do not think he can keep dragging this on because crypto enthusiasts are already getting impatient about the progress trump has been promising when it comes to crypto being added to us' government
