It’s been a while since GameFi generated much buzz. Memecoins dominated the narrative, and speculation ran wild about whether Trump could spark a crypto bull run. But with market uncertainty lingering, many investors are shifting focus to more sustainable narratives.
Today, I went down the rabbit hole on GameFi again and checked out Space Nation, a blockchain-based MMORPG that’s aiming to blend AAA gaming with Web3. It’s got exploration, battles, mining, and trading all wrapped in a massive virtual universe. There’s been some chatter about its upcoming token listing, and the community seems bullish on that, but who knows how it’ll actually play out?
Meanwhile, the market keeps throwing curveballs. What projects if any have been on your radar lately?

Good post OP, and thanks for sharing glimpses of your research.
I am also scanning multiple projects; one of them is a FIFA coin. What are your thoughts about it?

- I think many crypto communities still believe in meme coins, AI, DeFi, or top altcoins that are implementing accumulation now via DCA. This is also a good opportunity in this downtrend in the market to take advantage of if there is a purchase, let's do it especially if we believe that the crypto assets have fallen in price now.
Honestly speaking, the best thing to do in these times in the market is to just accumulate as much as you can then just hold for the long-term and sell in the year you want to sell as long as you know you have a profit.

Well, I don't know and have never experienced Space Nation, I also haven't seen signs of a return from the GameFi trend. Tap-2-Earn can't help GameFi revive, it happened too quickly at the time the Ton blockchain was attracting user attention, then it quickly failed to keep players staying.
For the time being, I'm still playing Pokémon Go on my smartphone instead of experiencing GameFi. Some games take ideas from Pokémon but cannot provide an experience like Pokémon Go, they don't have a good enough plot, don't have a wide enough world, and don't have attractive gameplay. Many GameFi platforms have announced their big plans in this cycle but it seems they are not ready to return in the gloomy market right now.

I was exploring some games like Diplomacy, HOI4, and so on because their gameplay looks interesting. I don't think I've found anything similar in the web3 space though, which is to be expected considering most of them are co-op-based games with little to no microtransactions. On the other hand, most live service/microtransactions games that I followed recently got a huge backlash because they offer NFTs marketplace even though the game has low quality. It's such a shame to see how developers utilize crypto in the most 'cash grab' way possible.

Even the memecoins are offering NFTs as well. If its created in SOL, those memecoin developers are collecting more SOL from its gullible users with so much affection to the NFTs that doesn't really have value.
Whichever the narrative we support, its still not up to us whether the value goes up, its still the market that rules whether people are buying it or not. The narratives are just like the hypes they spread. GameFi does need a really good project that gamers will flock to try out.

I haven't put my attention to GameFi for months but today I've checked it's progressed since last year. If ppl make communities for games & promote them it's going to be profitable. Gaming's going to get bigger.

From its name, I can guess what FIFA Coin is about. I'm just hearing about it now, but I'd love to check it out, buddy!

If they don't see a return they won't put funds in to projects. Hype won't push ppl to invest. We aren't in ICO funding days any more so they'll think before flocking to invest.
