Title: New to Altcoins – Looking for Investment Advice
Post by: Stacy95 on March 24, 2025, 11:37:13 AM
Hey everyone,

I’m new to the crypto world, and I’ve recently started exploring altcoins as a potential investment. However, I still don’t know much about how everything works, and I want to make sure I start off on the right foot.

I’d really appreciate any advice on:

Which altcoins are good for beginners to invest in?
What’s the best strategy to start investing—should I go for short-term trading or long-term holding?
How do you analyze a coin before deciding to invest?
Are there any common mistakes I should avoid as a beginner?
What are some reliable sources to stay updated on crypto trends?
I’d love to hear your experiences and any recommendations you might have.

Also, I’m trying to find some good blogs to learn more about crypto. I came across Crowdwiz.io and a few others like CoinDesk —do you think these are reliable sources for trustworthy information? If you have any other recommendations, I’d love to check them out.

I appreciate any insights you can share. Thanks in advance! 😊

Which altcoins are good for beginners to invest in?
First try just bitcoin.

What’s the best strategy to start investing—should I go for short-term trading or long-term holding?
This will depend on you. I will advice you to do short term investment now.

Long term investment will be better if there would be bear market in 2026. So you can start when bitcoin price will fall like end of 2026 or 2027 maybe.

For now, people still believe bitcoin is still going to $100000 again or all-time high once more before bear market.

How do you analyze a coin before deciding to invest?
Learn about bitcoin 4 year cycle. Also when the price of bitcoin has decreased a lot.

Are there any common mistakes I should avoid as a beginner?
Use the amount of money that you afford to lose to invest on altcoins. Study them very well. I recommend bitcoin investment because despite its volatile price, it is far less volatile than altcoins.

What are some reliable sources to stay updated on crypto trends?
Following important people and sites on X. Read news.

Cointelegraph is also good for news.

You can get coingecko.com or Coinmarketcap.com for lists of coins and exchanges.

As a newbie in the crypto space, it's better for you to avoid altcoins and trading. Start you investment journey with bitcoin. Invest and hodli for a long-term. That will limit the risk in the volatile nature of bitcoin. Altcoins are unpredictable and you cannot know if the project that you are investing in will be profitable in the long run or not. It's like you are gambling and it's risky for a no-coiner like you.
