With Bitcoin currently at $86k, it’s safe to say buyers are constantly buying the dip which has resulted in increased momentum in favor of the bulls. I’m excited Bitcoin is picking up again, it stayed below $80k for too long. Even though i knew it was due to market correction, i just kept wondering if it will drop further below $70k in the coming bear market. As a new investor, do you think it’s best to start DCA or to wait for the bear market before investing ? What’s your opinion on this ?

it is best to buy when you are ready if you already have enough funds and you want to buy some right now then you should take advantage of this time where the price is not as high but if you are not able to then no pressure as bear cycle is looming and soon it will come enough though of course the profit would come after a long time

To be honest, I am not doing DCA as of the moment all because I don't have a regular income but I know that this can be an effective system to accumulate more Bitcoin and even any coin for that matter. Now that there is a good dip, the more that DCA can be an effective way for any investor to use anytime. I am happy that eventually Bitcoin seems to be making a good comeback but it is not yet there near the last ATH so there remains a good room to wiggle through. So as much as you can get as many Bitcoin as possible because you will never know in just a blink of an eye there can be a new and bigger ATH established for Bitcoin's history.

Indeed, DCA is a good strategy to accumulate bitcoin, but if I share my part here, it is that I have already taken a full exit out of bitcoin, maybe at the price of $75k or $76k because I needed funds at that time, and I am not planning to buy back at the current price, and I will not buy until I find it cheaper, and until then, I am just watching the market. The reason that I believe the market is standing at its edge and from here it can rise up and fall down, and this put me in the thinking of before investing.
I will surely buy back bitcoin whenever I find it cheap, and from there I will start my DCA for the accumulation of bitcoin. This is my part in this, and here I also need your suggestion haha, as I am a bit confused here as well.

One of the greatest advantages of Dollar Cost Averaging is that it removes the headache of timing the market. When you buy, you are getting bitcoin at an averaged price, this means that when you enter the market, no matter when, if you are consistent, you will be at the winning point in the end.

It is not strange that you are confused with your strategy. If I should be honest with you, your strategy seems outdated, it worked in the past but it is becoming irrelevant now. When you time the market in such a manner you may likely lose out entirely. Bitcoin has hit global adoption, will you be surprised if you see bitcoin at $500 tomorrow? If you keep timing the market, you will be the loser on the long run. As much as you can, keep buying bitcoin aggressively.

As a new investor, do you think it’s best to start DCA or to wait for the bear market before investing ? What’s your opinion on this ?
If bitcoin is going to fall again, I do not think it is going to fall to $70000. Also you said DCA. Yes, there is nothing bad to DCA right now. Bitcoin price will still increase before bear market will start. Not now for bear market. But investment right now should be a short term.

A person can start out now or during the bear and would still get profit, smaller or bigger, depending on the time of proper hodling and many other factors.
But the results would still be there.

For now, one should have a proper analysis according to the current market condition, then after that, he/she should start his/her DCA(Doller Cost Averging), I am saying this because the market is currently sitting high, and we don't know the next move of the market. Well, mate, where do you see Bitcoin's new all-time high, as the previous one was $109K, and what can be the next one? Would just like to know it from you! :)
Other than that, I was reading a headline today that Trump was planning to give a lot of countries a break on tariffs, which I find the best decision for the current market condition. CMIIW!

It is always best to do DCA and if money is not a problem to you then buy whenever you want. If you are a low budget investor I think it is best if you have price range for you best entry or just buy weekly regardless of prices because if price will continue to go down maybe you will be able to catch the deepest dip and that is an advantage when price come back up.

No one can be sure if BTC will return to $70K before continuing its growth. The BTC price might surge straight to $150K, or it could dip below $70K and then back to $50K in the next crypto winter. No one dares to give you advice on this, especially since we're in 2025, not 2023.
Personally, I believe BTC will still hit an ATH in the $150K-170K zone, so if I have the funds, I'll still DCA more BTC and ETH at the current price zone. StrategyB is buying, Metaplanet is buying, El Salvador is buying, I'll buy too instead of panicking ^^

It doesn't matter new or old trader or holder it is very important for everyone to follow DCA because risk management can be done by making investments following DCA method. And the movement of the market can be tracked as well. When you invest according to DCA, you must follow the market constantly and at that time you will understand the movement of the market. And you will also gain a lot of insight into which coins are doing well and may do better in the future. so DCA is always better for new traders and also professional traders

Cryptocurrency market always unpredictable and uncertain. When what will happen it is difficult to say. But i think Bitcoins price is not stable right now. We saw few days ago Bitcoin price decreased near about $70k. But now near about $86k. I think Bitcoin price will down more and more and it will come back near about $50k.
So you can follow DCA method. I think it is best policy to invest on Bitcoin in bear market. I will start DCA within short time. Because i strongly believe today or tomorrow Bitcoin price will high more and more there has no doubt.

The reason why people do DCA is because of situations like this where Bitcoin is high and you don't want the price to left your money sitting down. It's better you put that money into Bitcoin and the best way of buying and not getting caught is DCA, you guy at different prices so that your average buy price will be lower than where it's trading right now.
The best thing about DCA is that you don't need to buy your coins at once, spray them at the price and continue to buy when you have more money later, it will interest you that you might not have any loss because you are buying at the worst prices.

The movement of bitcoin now seems slow because it's like there is still not enough FOMO to give the market a big and sudden push to the upside. I'm pretty much optimistic that if a single big firm now should break news of them buying a couple 100,000 bitcoins then you see price climb up so fast.
I really don't know how long we will remain within the 80k price mark but I'm pretty sure the process will be quite a slow one.
-
The movement of bitcoin cannot be predicted accurately, we only predict that this year will be bullish again but the fact is that bitcoin is even experiencing a correction.
What if the price of bitcoin does not drop to $70K and instead rises above $100K you will regret not buying now right?
If the goal is for the long term then it is better to invest now without looking at the price - doing DCA is a good strategy for beginners.

I think for the current purchase the price of bitcoin is too high for long-term holding, I will probably wait until next year to buy bitcoin that I plan to hold for the long term because next year we will likely see a bearish season.
And in my opinion DCA purchases are more suitable to be done during the bearish season, I have stopped making DCA purchases when the price of bitcoin reached ATH because I am more focused on buying altcoins.

according to the term, there's no specific timeline needed to be followed for a long term investment plan, if you are starting a DCA in the Bear zone for 5 to 10 years, it's gonna be 1.5 to 2.5 Bitcoin halving cycle during these cycles if you are consistent enough on every point of market weather it's high or low market price consistent accumulation will result something exponential over the planed period of time.
So it doesn't matter what kind of situation the current market is facing, be consistent and follow up the plan for DCA, there will be least risk factor on the ROI.

It is logical to wait for the right moment to purchase the crypto assets as the long-term investment strategy. Thus, high business prices do indeed make accumulation of assets to be less efficient than when it is in a bear market. Another valid reason why it is advisable not to buy Bitcoin at current lower prices is that an optimal DCA strategy is to wait when prices are lower. Reading your comments about exiting Bitcoin at its ATH, I can notice that is was wise to do so because some of the altcoins can still have more potential to grow compared to major assets.

As a new investor, do you think it’s best to start DCA or to wait for the bear market before investing ? What’s your opinion on this ?
Have you not waited enough? Waiting can be a dangerous game to play in investment because once you have proper knowledge about how to invest and how to keep your investment safe, it is considered that you are good to go, especially when you have the money to invest right away. There's no need to wait for the market to dip further when there is a strategy that you can effectively apply to start stacking bitcoins for yourself.

Everyone knows the right approach to follow the market or they have their strategies that could lead them to a successful gambling, But one thing for sure is that when they aren't favorable with the market condition they may decides to apply the DCA approach to accumulate enough bitcoin or any assets they had in mind of having while the market take of their feet back.

Some to choose go only for the dips, others - lump sum at any price.
The result would be great in both cases, of the BTC in question would be hodled appropriately.

I've been diving into bitcoin investing lately and I gotta say, DCA has been a game changer for me since i'm still figuring things out. it's such a relief not to stress about the market's crazy ups and downs, I used to drive myself nuts trying to time it just right. I thought waiting for a big dip in a bear market would be my best bet but i've seen how prices don't always crash like you expect and with bitcoin doing so well lately, I didn't want to miss out. So now, I just put a little money in every month and it feels so much bette knowing i'm building my stash over time. I'm really excited about where bitcoin's headed in the long run and this way, i can keep going without feeling like I'm taking a huge risk all at once.

If bitcoin is going to fall again, I do not think it is going to fall to $70000. Also you said DCA. Yes, there is nothing bad to DCA right now. Bitcoin price will still increase before bear market will start. Not now for bear market. But investment right now should be a short term.
Nothing is impossible on the crypto space, I also think this way, even i wrote a topic on it but you never can tell, there are Whales, panic sellers speculators out there to do their negative things.
Now, if you are s trader, and following the market trends, you may agree with me that there was a little Market shake out from $103k to $85k, then another dump from $98k to $78k. This was actually withness some weeks ago, and i think some whales were responsible for the shake out just to buy back at Low prices knowing fully well that the panic sellers are always there to cause more price dumps. I think $70k can't be ruled in my opinion.

When exactly do we or are we expecting the bear market to come?, this is an important question we should first ask ourself.
I personally have this feeling that the Bitcoin market have changed from what it used to be or how it used to behave in the past, things have become alot of more unpredictable and the sooner we begin to realize this, the better investment decisions we make.
I would say that who ever is willing to invest in bitcoin should start their DCA plan now, there is no need waiting because one can't really tell what the future holds, what if in the near future, there is no bear season as we all anticipate or look forward to? What if the price of Bitcoin is either stable or going up most of the time.?

Well there is still a chance for second peak, so if you want to take risk and want to make more profit, then you can take the chance now and invest in, but doing DCA at the moment for the short term profit is not suggested. But if you want to hold funds for another cycle or till the next cycle then it can be profitable, but it also depends on how many intervals you would be buying it.
Point is, if we are consistent in DCA from the current price for long term, we are profitable, for short term we can still be but risk is higher. If we wan to do lump sum at the moment for short term that can be more profitable then doing DCA for short term.

In this case, I would tell a new investor to first compare DCA investment for long-term and short-term trading.
In the case of DCA investment, the risk is lower thats means here the analysis will also not be much like the analysis we need to do on the short term trading. And it is natural for a new trader to know less about analysis, and the easiest way for him is to buy a coin that will guarantee profit gaining in the long term. And here I will say that there is no other strategy could be best for him rather than the DCA scheme on bitcoin for the long-term.

DCA is indeed a good strategy because it can buy coins that we like gradually. For newbies who lack knowledge, they can use the DCA method in investing while seeking knowledge in making analysis and developing strategies that they will use in investing. because learning to make analysis and strategy takes a long time.

Hmm, Good point, brother.
There are some people who limit the terminology of DCA to Bitcoin only, maybe due to a lack of information, of maybe due to some other reason; the point is DCA is an investment strategy which can be used in any kind of investment in any kind of market. I used to call it a risk management strategy rather than an investment strategy.

And the DCA strategy is very suitable for those of us who have small capital to earn and spend in crypto investment. With this, at least we can make purchases periodically, regularly, even though the amount is not large. so, if it continues to run regularly, the results will also be incredible later and of course very worth it if we have reached the target we want.
yes, but it will not be as easy as turning over your hand. because for people who still have minimal knowledge about in and investment strategies in crypto, they sometimes get carried away easily so that they are still easily carried away by FOMO or panic. and here, they are sometimes desperate enough to continue DCA again. Therefore, in research, knowledge is really needed that can at least help us understand the current market conditions like this so that we can continue with DCA.

Yes i also think DCA method is best tools for cryptocurrency investment. DCA means dollar cost average, when market go down then buy currency, every down buy and buy. If anyone follow DCA method he will be profited within short time when market go up. Every sector like forex, share market even crypto trading DCA is best policy.
I think who will follow DCA method he will be profitable within short time. So i am also following DCA method.

Actually, it has a strong reason why people limit it to bitcoin, because initially bitcoin was the one that was used more for this strategy.
But overall, it can actually be used on anything and anytime, not limited to one particular asset. Usually when something is talked about, it will stick and DCA and bitcoin are examples of this so they stick to each other.

Actually, I have been buying crypto using the DCA method for the past 2 years and I have benefited from it. I still hold bitcoin and some of the top altcoins that I bought using the DCA method.
In using the DCA method, I am not looking for short-term profits because in my opinion it is not yet optimal for making a profit, I prefer the DCA method for long-term holding. However, it all depends on the considerations of each investor according to their targets and analytical abilities.

As a new investor, do you think it’s best to start DCA or to wait for the bear market before investing ? What’s your opinion on this ?
For new investors who haven't invested in Bitcoin yet, investing in Bitcoin at this current price can be seen as a good move because, before the end of this year, I am sure Bitcoin have given a new ATH as price, giving the newbie profits they can smile to because the price they bought Bitcoin at(currently), is not the same before the end of the year.

Bitcoin is a very unique currency, mainly from the observation of its value over a period where it has constantly grown, primarily people are of the opinion that there is still room for the price to grow. I can understand why it is considered a promising opportunity for those who never invested in cryprocurrency before. There are predictions that it may become valuable in future thus people’s interest in the asset is growing. If this turns out to be true then those who have entered now with such high risks would certainly be reaping the fruits of their confidence in the market growth.

I think we're still a bit early for anyone who wants to DCA their way into bitcoin for now, but the era of crazy high gains just from doing that activity is over, and you'll need to be more creative wa t to earn money.

Actually, i think that you could express a best opinion in your comment. But i think that we should wait for bear market before investment. The next crypto winter will be much more like the story of the grasshopper and the ant.
Those that are prepped will not starve they will thrive.
Rightfully, as it should be.
Those who are patient enough and are not in panic will keep their results to themselves.

yeah dca is a must and if you do some dip buys.
you need cash and or cash income to do this.
I stacked some and I am doing dca.
will continue.

Actually, i think that you could express a best opinion in your comment. But i think that we should wait for bear market before investment. New investors should buy potential coins and hold them when the market is sluggish. They should learn a lot about the character of the market and how to deal with a sluggish market, because it takes experience to be able to make a correct analysis of market conditions and what strategies to use in order to get big profits.

A steady inflow of funds means a steady accumulation of BTC.
That's great if you have the ability to work through DCA and know why it's worth it.
Let's stack some more ;)

Yes i also think DCA is best method to invest on cryptocurrency. Who will able to buy dip he will be more profitable there has no doubt. As when dip will end we dont know, so Follow DCA method is best for invest on any coin.
So i also still following DCA method. I am buying some coin in every dip. I think when bull session will come then i will be huge benefited there has no doubt. So still now DCA continue.

Long-term DCA can be started anytime... even now if your financial planning for the future is clear, start now... for DCA we buy prices based on time, and it's routine... so when the end of our planning is finished, we will get an average price, which will make our purchases when Bitcoin prices are expensive, become helped and cheaper with our other cheap purchases...
DCA is suitable for 3-year and above investments, or at least through the four-year cycle phase after halving... which we usually see ATH there more often...

Currently I am still using the DCA method to buy top coins that according to my analysis will increase this year. although some friends have stopped using the DCA method because they feel the price of the coin is getting higher, they are afraid of being trapped in high prices because of some bad news that blows we will enter a bearish season, but I don't believe in that.

I don't really know what to think of Bitcoin but certainly Altcoins looks good for buy as many of them has dropped drastically where they are trading. If Bitcoin drop and you have interest to buy, the DCA is very good but my fear now is what s going to happen to altcoins if Bitcoin decide to drop from here, it will be a marker sucide for many.
There is nothing good at this market right now other than Bitcoin, new coins that are been launch go down immediately after some time that's why if one has short term plan on Bitcoin, he has to be very careful about the situation of the market otherwise, the loss will be difficult to bear unless they have plan for long time.

When it comes to DCA then Bitcoin is still the first choice as it's safest and overtime it will surely grow in value. Although, good alt coins can also be some useful choices, but still Bitcoin is going to be the number one choice for most investors.

DCA is only for someone who can't dump a lump sum all at once when the market dips so they choose the long game of buying small amount in regular intervals as well as consistently irrespective of the price fall or rise then only it is possible to reach the goal in the next few years. I mean even owning 1 whole BTC is out of reach for many retails investors so one who can afford to invest $100 only should start buying now...

Yes, with the strategy of the DCA method, one is in a position to invest anytime and any day as long as they are set and ready. So as to minimise the risk on the price per point we are able to buy periodically without having to concentrate so much on price. The other benefit is the opportunity to purchase construct at a lower price most especially during poor market conditions because this way, it leads to buying at a better average price. This is good for the long term investment, because it will be a part of a large pool of demand that will benefit from the average prices trends and then wait for the price cycle after halving which is likely to result in the highest next few years.

Statistically speaking, the "buy the dip" strategy, i.e. buying during the bear market, yields better returns than the DCA strategy. But, unlike the DCA, which is newbie-friendly and anyone can pull it off, trying to time the market is a different story, as it requires some knowledge and constant market monitoring.
So I guess it all depends on the amount of time you want to put in and how active you want to be in trading.
When looking at the past charts, everything seems so easy, but predicting future price action is way harder than it seems. The current situation is a good example, people can't even tell if we're still in the bull market, or are we on the way down.

The current price of bitcoin is below the previous ATH and this could be called a dip if the price rises back to the ATH or above. There is no right time on buying bitcoin every single opportunity you have, its best to utilize it by using the DCA strategy to accumulate fractions in accordance to your financial strength. I like making use of DCA strategy because it helps keep the investor in a state of comfort while accumulating to his desired plan and goal without affecting other financial needs. Though it's positive to make use of other strategies that best fits your comfort to accumulate for example some investors might make use of lump sum to make aggressive accumulation probably because they sense the dip.

The market is already in the bull season and any moment from now or even as the market is now, we don’t need to be told that those investing now didn’t get the early investment start and needs to be more careful when buying now. To be on a safer side, using the DCA method should be the best approach for the market now. In no time, we are expecting that the market will go on another bull run and those that want to use the DCA method will likely be on a safer side if the market goes sideways and decide to dip a while again. It will be an opportunity for them to buy more. Those that missed to buy early should only know that using the DCA method will be the best for them.

Yeh bitcoin is one of the best among other altcoins, so it's better to bitcoin 80% of the rest you can gamble on altcoins.
I don't want too many altcoins in the portfolio because the experience used to be a lot of trapped until it was difficult to recover again but bitcoin every cycle there is always a high increase so that's what investors expect.

I will give Bitcoin a 90% somehow the the 10 % for others and it looks like the cycle could be different , doesn't matter we will get to know before or by October, let's see how it all goes.

The usage of the Dollar costs Average is not how you are seeing it, it actually has nothing against any situation of Bitcoin price because all you are to only do is buy and keep buying, so if you are asking me weather is the appropriate time to buy when is dropping I will call it an abuse of Dollar cost average because that's not how it should be utilized and anything strictly on price dropping is considered as an only a dip buyer and not DCA.
-
Op if you are asking for DCA, there is no specific time of buying bitcoin with DCA. And now that the price is at the rate of $79k is an another best time to buy. And in DCA you don't have to wait and yours is continue buying either high or low and you will enjoy the it when the price is low.
And those who are buying when the price is low are seasonal investors and not DCA investors. Seasonal investors use big amount to buy bitcoin at once and wait for another low or dip again. That is how they are buying bitcoin.

The next crypto winter will be much more like the story of the grasshopper and the ant.

so op are you prepped do you have a pile of cash are you ready to buy dca?
I grabbed a good amount today and have more buys set up.

Golden price, imo. We won't see it like that for the years to come, so we need to buy now, and never fear 8)

Great for you! I too did some buys, but just looking at the price in the morning, I still lots of opportunities to continue.
