A copper out of painful experience and a heartbreaking condition made a video on TikTok which has gone viral on the internet, and which I am sure most of you have seen by now, where she said President Tinubu is a Terrible President, and has been threatened by the NYSC officials from the secretarial.
When we speak, there is problem because those at the leading position don't want to hear their faults being made manifest to their faces, rather, everyone should be in silence, when speak, threat follows, when protest comes, the entire country suffers it, because the government leaders feel they are untouchable. This is a country blessed with wealth all round, but was hijacked by the so-called leaders, taking everything to themselves, and to those who pay obedience to their evil reports as good.
This is a link to the video of the NYSC copper speaking bitterly and painfully, and still being threatened (https://www.tiktok.com/@nice_clip2/video/7487284769235946758?is_from_webapp=1&sender_device=pc&web_id=7486473661793175046)
Here is a link of a reporter who is benefiting from the bad government and is blinded by his benefits speaking what he fells is right, while a lawyer is speaking with facts on what each and every citizen of Nigeria is facing. (https://www.tiktok.com/@susu.heart/video/7483100244486475013?is_from_webapp=1&sender_device=pc&web_id=7486473661793175046)

Let's hear your thoughts on this situation.

This whole copper increment of a thing is actually disgusting if you really look into it. Basically everything is so expensive that an increment in allowance or what ever they call it is still a drop in pay. Inflation is hitting the country so hard and they are busy fooling the masses by adding numbers in the name of increments.
In the rear sense what would such an amount do for such a person? It's best the country focuses on the important things rather than allegedly fooling the masses.

The time it took for them to get in touch with her and start threatening her is proof that the government and those in power knows exactly what is happening in the country and just choose to pay deaf ears to our cry.
In Nigeria, all humans right are constantly being violated and because of the state of the country and the way our leaders are being carried no one is allowed to even say anything and if you manage to say it that will be the end of you - if not for the fact that other Nigerians came out to support this Corper girl I’m sure that her video would have been the last thing we’d have seen from her.
The most recent one again, happenned at Asaba in a nursing gathering/party when the students there denied Senator Tinubu as their mother which is obviously true and now the school is currently trying to punish the student who published the video - if truly we are free to observe our human right what business would the school have with a video of students saying that a senator isn’t their mother?
-
Just be careful with how vocal you are with your opinions especially when you are just a common man with no connections. Many times they have shown us that some certain individuals are above the law, while the law sits on the head of others and in some other cases new laws can be made or old laws twisted against an individual. Real democracy is not practiced in Nigeria.

One karma for you. The solution in this country is in the hands of the masses and the politicians know that so what they do is to disorganized the masses by giving heavy money to some set of people to support them and also to fight against the angry masses. The angry masses are not with guns while the the ones they have taking have guns. And we can see that in the mega protest in 2020 (#Endsars). Tinubu government is the worst ever, and the problem we are having in the country is from the INEC and the Court. The Court is worst down INEC.
In a country that really want to develop must accommodate criticism but I have not seen it in this government and all the people who criticize Tinubu government are crucified. Obi is on the run and the and Atiku as well.

That is absolutely correct! If they don't know they wouldn't call her to threaten her to take off the video from the web. They that are called leaders in every governmental sector in the country automatically becomes blind with money, and can't see what is going on in the country anymore the moment they assume office.
I heard about the one concerning nurse, is that even a problem, someone who rejects another person as the mother is not supposed to be an offence to anyone. Will a child be forced to accept someone else as a mother, when she knows very well her mother is at home? In Nigeria, we are all forced to do what we don't wish to.

Honestly, I was shocked to learn that the attention of the nursing student was called for by the authorities because of the video.
If a school doesn’t know when a student or a citizen can exercise their rights and freedom of speech what then are they teaching the students there? How to read and pass exam without any actually knowledge to help them scale through life?
It’s ridiculous going through the things that are happening in the country and seeing the government giving so much attention to things that need the least of their attention.

A government that wants to do well will truly accept criticism from it's citizens, and when those criticism are being critically checked, where there are faults will be easily noted and the measures to fix those faults will be the aim of the government to achieve. But in Nigeria, reverse is the case.
On another video regarding the Corper, she was called for a seating by the NYSC bodies, but because they saw she was not alone, the venue for the seating was vacant. If they had no bad intentions against the Corper, why was the venue for the seating empty?
The leaders knows what to do to make this country a better one amongst other countries around the world, but they are all self-centered, and only concerned with themselves and those who obeys their evil deeds.
e no go better for them sha

I wouldn't blame this so called leaders but I would blame those who knows the truth and choose to go against the truth. Their children is also suffering it but they are cowards and cannot defend the truth. If Tinubu knows that he's doing the right thing, why is he after the people who are experiencing their disappointment in his administration.

Nigeria's citizens are incapable of changing the government. The government is selfish, and so are the citizens. Every person who has come out to criticize the government has been bought by the government. The government's divide and rule strategy has caused widespread disunity among the people.
Even the Endsar protest failed, and the most recent protest against bad government produced no results. The government is uninterested in the people, and some protesters close their mouths whenever the government offers them sugar.
On a different note, the government is known for sponsoring thugs during protests to disorganize the masses and then allowing the military to kill the masses in order to scare protesters away on the claim the hat protesters are destroying government properties. This is precisely the case with the Endsar protest. We have got a long way to go.

Well I no go talk much with you for this matter because we don put ourselves inside one big mess. And I don talk am before, the politicians dey use thugs to kill other citizens so for the genuine citizens to come and protests dem no go come out again for the fear of Army brutality and unnecessary police arrest and those are the cohesive forces the government dey use dey hunt down the those wey dey protest. Tinubu government arrested under age children last year because dem protest as the cost of living increases and those children were below 12 years of ages. Guy see anything Nigeria now I don't want to talk about again because the present governments is a mess to Nation develop.
People been dey tok say everyone nai e dey corrupt in Nigeria but me I no dey like that statement because na weti the masses see the politicians dey do naim dem di citizens dey do as well and once the politicians stop those nonsense di masses their own go stop by themselves.

This is the situation that we find ourselves in the country as Nigerians it's a terrible situation because one thing that I have found out from this country is that the political class doesn't want people to speak up and anyone who dears to talk is termed as an energy of progress and is someone who wants to put sand in the food that they are eating, the orientation system that our leaders have here is terrible and needs to change because it is not a civilized way because in sane societies there is room for political leaders who are elected to office by the the citizens to criticizes there leaders constructively and openly telling them their faults and areas where they are not doing well, but in Nigeria that is not the case because after talking you have to be prepared and ready to face the consequences of what your talk is going to bring to you because as far as am concerned there's no freedom of speech in the country

Every protest that has ever been held has all been a peaceful protest, with the citizens having a single cry of changing the bad governance/leadership. The youths who could be bought are the tugs who has nothing good left in them to offer, rather than let everyone die.
For the good of any country, there is always a room for that particular government or tenure to be criticized, so as to know where there is fault and make amendments for a better country, but here, reverse is the case. Whoever speaks is the evil.
It is only in Nigeria where a thief is caught stealing and the someone who saw him and shouted thief becomes the worst enemy. People who are dealing with him for stealing are not the enemy oh, but the person who first shouted thief. That is what this country has become in the government/leaders of this country.

Sincerely speaking; our situation and problems we are facing in Nigeria are from our own government . A government that neglects the opinions of the citizens as well as not going by the constitution itself. At this point, we have lost our rights to the hands of the government if our own freedom of speech could be neglected.
Following the issue of the copper situation, there wasn’t any measures taken up till this day by the government. This has been more than two weeks since this happened and no correctional measures has been taken by the government in respect of the abused copper.I feel if her rights were respected, the government would have addressed it in meetings or through social media buh the whole thing has gone silently if not for people who raised up the matter.
During the militarian era; the people weren’t allowed to speak up. There was a kind of bondage they kept us in.It makes me wonder if our constitution says we follow a presidential system of government but the government act by the militarian book.Sincerely speaking , there is a cause for the revolution of our government and Nigeria itself. This needs to be put to a halt.

I don't know why people still think that they would be free to say whatever they like when the current president got into power by his own rights without following due process nor giving it a chance to function as it should.
This is more of an authoritarian government or should I say capitalism because the poor masses has so far no way to benefit from allievation schemes and the prices of commodities and food has drastically increased without a reasonable counter action to make the citizens survive better.
If you no get money for this country, at least try get connections or be a powerful person, that's when you have a voice, otherwise, you got to be a sheep and stay out of publicity.

Though I was not yet born in the military era, but the lives of the citizens where of value, unlike now. Then in the military regime, the people are the major agenda as at then. No matter what, feeding was a necessity then. Discipline and moral were made forceful to all citizens, stealing within the military sector was hidden, and anything that is done which is not right, is strictly followed up. Yes, the people never had the right to talk to the military leaders, but the military leaders know what the people need, and made it available. Except maybe to some region of the country. Cause, I do listen to past history of my people.
Now that we say we are in the democratic leadership, where the people/masses have the right to freedom of speech, but after the speech, that is when you'll know that your details can easily be found without delays. Since then, till now, nothing has been done. If not for the people/lawyers who volunteered to join her on the meeting set up by the NYSC administrators, who knows what would have happen to her. Getting there, people who called for meeting were nowhere to be found.

Exactly my brother. They know the truth but they refuse to act on it. This is the main problem, our leaders are aware of the challenges that the Nigerians are facing and they know the right steps to take to address these issues but they turn deaf ear.
It is stated in Nigeria constitution that everyone has freedom of speech, yet this right is being violated, which is not fear. Anyone that try to rises their voice will be punished, that makes it obvious that government doesn't prioritize this rights. The leaders are using their powers to get what they want. But what can I say?
it is ultimately our fault (the poors), our greediness and selfishness will not allow us to unite and stand up for ourselves and for the growth and development of the country. If people come together to plan something that will benefit them without the approval of the leaders, you will not know the hypocrite that pass or leak the information to the leaders. Only God knows the kind of threat the copper will face now. And trust me, the leaders won't confront the copper directly, instead they will use a poor man's children to threaten her, it's unbelievable that those who are supposed to protect her are the ones doing this. Nigeria is something else.

What is said about this socio-political scenario presents a strong feeling of disgust considering the leaders who do not care for the population. Whenever people are deprived of their rights or the opportunity to freely express themselves especially on instances of injustice they certainly will feel like outcasts. However, the issue that arises most commonly is that it is challenging to come to a common ground, and fight. People’s hatred has been fueled by powerful elites who use this to their advantage and consolidating the power in their hands and as a result the movement for change and improvement is very hard. This is employment discrimination in that some persons are denied the limelight, this is a form of structural injustice that will only persist if the ice cannot be broken.

They know the right path to take in solving the issue or improving the living conditions of the citizens of the country but they usually the shortest route which usually involves buying a few thousand bags of rice and this act usually shuts the mouth of majority of those complaining.
It’s actually sad to see that a country that’s supposed to be democratic is now living as if it’s being governed by a dictator. It’s very sad to see.

Before the elections, "all animals are equal," but after the elections, " some animals are more equal than others." The words of Napoleon, this is the situation of our dear country today. It is quite unfortunate that there is freedom of speech, but the freedom after the speech is not guaranteed. We just ought to be very careful so we do not suffer in the course of voicing our opinions at the wrong time.

This video went very viral and was the talk of the town for sometime before everything lied low again. In the video which she claimed the government of this administration is very terrible took offence and had to go in the girl to penalize her. But thanks to some concerned Nigerians in high position from the opposition parties who stood beside the girl. If people will be dealt with like this by speaking out their voice, then we won’t call this a democratically system of government but a dictatorship.
The condition in the country is not appealing to the eye and when you want to speak out, you’ll be shut down of your words and asked to manage through. It is very disheartening but we hope and pray for a better Nigeria. No one seem to impress me for a chance for the president anymore, I just believe we will get the best leader someday that will lead the nation well. We as a country are not suppose to by now still be in the developing countries cadre but a developed country by now.
-
Some have make use of the freedom they have and their mouth got them into trouble, because they couldn't control it as at when to talk and when to run for their soul, some things are better done when we are applying wisdom than just behaving as if we are not exposed, this will make us realized as at when to talk or not, how to present our perception and to whom, I've seen a lot of people through which after what they said in public put them into trouble and they are sentenced while some were death at the cause.
-
I don't usually follow up these social medias. We all know how our government have silenced so many freedom speakers in the country. Yea we have so many rights as a Nigerian but how many of them have we been able to experience. We can't have a protest without the government killing people, we can't say out our mind without the fear of the unknown. Everything just not as how they are meant to be. We lost our rights when some Nigerians decided to vote the wrong person after been offered a small amount that won't be enough to feed them in a day.

If they really examine the whole thing very well the sudden kick starting of the 77k NYSC was from that video because with the anger a lot of persons felt about it and how they made the video go more viral than the person that send it the first time because the upset of people about it wasn't even because of the money again it was because of how somebody cannot longer expresses themselves on this country, so it became I high time people to socially make it open to the government that law is not against somebody who is speaking their mind about how they are treated.

This is where the problem lies. The youths are easily brainwashed because of some false and fake promises made to them at their election campaigns, and when they are given weapons to carry out their unsafe assignment, after it all, they don't return the weapons, and the government continues to pay them to carry out their dirty works. If I am not mistaken, almost all leaders of the country have their thugs that they call on when they have some dirty things to do.

I have come to realise that not everybody knows how to talk; some people are good orators, while some are not. It is high time people take cognisance of this behavior of theirs as to knowing when to talk and talking the right thing, because this has led people to be in trouble, while some have lost their jobs, etc. Sometimes it's not everything one needs to talk and there are some things better kept quiet than saying it because it's just a keg of gunpowder waiting to explode. I have also been able to imbibe that culture of keeping silent sometimes, and it has been helping me a lot, as not everything is worth saying or talking about. To some point, there are some kinds of conversations that you might find yourself in, but when it starts taking a different tone, just excuse yourself and run away because you just might not know what the outcome of that discussion will be, and it is better you take your heels than to remain there. This is not the talk of being bold and daring, do not get yourself in trouble when you have no idea the intentions of the people you are discussing with.

That's why problems of insecurity is becoming an endemic to some parts of the country, some people are no longer controllable because of the dangerous thing they possessed, if not for all this things I actually love the way our country is in terms of not tolerating any form of weapons but because of political power they began to make it very relevant to people so that they could win their election without considering that they might not retrieve those weapons from them after the election, so in very aspects of problems in the country politics has a hand in them.

It's the work of the leaders to ensure peace and harmony in a country. If the leaders are selfish, they wouldn't want peace so that the voice of the people wouldn't be one. This is the main reason why they empower the foolish youths with ammunitions to cause trouble and oppress them. They know this and that's why they don't care of creating jobs so that they can control the jobless and use them as their tools for power.

A leader that is hunger driven for power isn’t going to do anything once they get to power and that’s what happening in our country we all knew right from the onset that the president won’t do anything because of the way he did is campaign and if he could take such measures just to see himself in power what else do you think he won’t do to remain in power or silence those who would try to speak against him?
The reason why you still see some activist talk opening about the government and question his motives is because of the public if they were not known or didn’t have influence they won’t have had an opportunity to speak for the second time because they’ll go missing after the first period. Just like what was supposed to happen to that NYSC Corper.

It's true that our leaders are meant to be the initiator of peace and harmony in the nation, but they are simply doing the opposite. I mean no disrespect, but their actions have only attracted restlessness and unrest amongst the citizens. One funny things about this whole saga is that the citizens who are supposed to be hell bent on ensuring that they are united against any kind of political corruption. Some of the citizens are however the supporters of even some of the negative actions of our leaders, actually they don't even perceive the actions of our leaders as negative.
