Recently, it was reported that Elon Musk is selling his social media platform X, also known as Twitter, to his other company xAI for $33 billion. What is your opinion on this?
Is he doing this to evade his taxes or something else?

well he now have something else to play with like the DOGE and twitter or x is never a good place to play anymore for him, he is committed to bigger things than social media. ;D

~ Is he doing this to evade his taxes or something else?
I doubt any sane owner would make this public and try to evade taxes. I also don't think the US laws allows the losses from sale between related companies/entities as part of tax write offs.
Anyway, I think this is purely a business development move. X + AI seems like a good combination.

I believe this is a strategical move by Elon to make use of the AI craze all around the globe, so he can double or even triple the ai company's worth in real soon with this merger. Also he could have done this just to gain the attention because he is known for that and I wouldn't be surprised if that's why he did it. I'm no tax expert but selling the company to another owned entity might not help with that.

I see this move by Elon Musk to sell X to another of his company xAI to integrate the use of AI because Elon Musk saw X and xAI can work hand in hand to achieve great success by unlocking immense potential by combining both resources to facilitate the benefit of X to its investors and who have face the state of confusion since Elon Musk bought X. Now, investors will own shares in the growing of AI startup

so the news break once again is that Musk is bought X back from xAi according to bloomberg https://www.bloomberg.com/news/newsletters/2025-03-31/the-reasons-elon-musk-is-buying-x-again

Seems this is what the plan Elon is going to do since AI nowadays is on a crazy hype he will go with the flow true business mindset. Seems billionaires new play ground right now is AI hopefully we can utilize this craze for something profitable or something.

Years back, Elon Musk had so much big dream for Twitter, I could remember I saw some articles years back where he mentioned that he was going to make x to become one of the best payment option such that it would compete with PayPal. After so much plans, what could be the reason why he wants to sell it for a lower amount that he bought it? There's actually a big reason for his decision which he probably will not yet disclosed it publicly or maybe the app is not giving him what he actually expected when he bought it. Even when musk bought Twitter, I just kept wondering why, he should have just remain a shareholder as he was.

I don't think Elon Musk is combining his two companies xAI and X simply because he want to evade tax, I mean it's so not him. I think he did this in order to stock swap, where X investors will be paid n xAI shares and vice versa, since the both companies are already owned by him

i do not know how he can avoid taxes through this when both are his companies so he just owns it still
according to him he just wanted to integrate ai to x and thinks that this can deliver better experience for the users well who knows if he has any other agenda but this is the only obvious reason

On Friday this week Elon Musk announced that his social media company x had been sold to his artificial intelligence company xAI. I understand that xAI is in a deal worth $45 billion. There is a lot of hype these days about AI and elon musk will never let this opportunity go. Also, billions seem to be the new playground now so AI hopefully we are profitable. The plan that elon muck is going to do is that he is ready to go through the right business process of the flow.
