Title: happy april fools
Post by: bitterguy28 on April 01, 2025, 03:21:25 PM
we know that on april 1st, a lot of people like to pull pranks on other people most of the time this is all supposed to be light hearted and fun but some people may take it to the next level to really make the prank funny and unique

but what type of jokes you think will cross the line? personally announcements of death are crossing the line for me

Yeah, April Fools is all about having fun, but some jokes can go too far. Fake announcements, like saying someone lost their job, a company shutting down, or a serious emergency, can stress people out for no reason. Also, pranks that scare people too much, embarrass them in public, or mess with their personal stuff (like deleting files or breaking things) aren't cool.

Death threats are out of line. :D

Personally I don't fall for such tricks but today has been very fun due to merit poker, already spend a lot of hours there hope we can see such kind of fun activity on here as well.

I pranked my friend that bitcoin price has reached $120k, and he was so excited to the point that he wanted to take profit. But when he checked the prics of bitcoin still at $84k+, he wanted to get angry before I told him that it was April fool prank. It will be nice if anybody did a prank today to tell us what your prank was about.

Pranks like these are very easy to believe especially when the victim here has witnessed/seen Bitcoin pump massively in a short period of time. I can feel that pain after realizing that you've just pranked him so hard. Bro was literally running off to cash out some profit because he doesn't want to get stuck in this drama that has been happening in the market for long now. Well done.

Death threats are out of line. :D

Same thing here.
I can accept any other prank, but not the death threat.
Some people just don't realize when certain things become too extreme.

It's true that some jokes or pranks May cross the line just as you have highlighted them but it's worth it because that is what the day is all about so one thing that will help you not to fall victim of April fool prank is that you should prepare your mind before the day and expect anything from anyone because people come up with different jokes and pranks in a bid to making the day Colourful so on April fool day don't be moved with any story that you are told because on April fools days different persons come up with all kinds of stories just to add colour to the day and make it the April fool that it is

I have trained myself not to let the actions of others affect me greatly, so whatever prank someone plays on me, i would not get too upset. I do not like to play pranks, even on the 1st of April, it has never been my thing and i don't think it will ever be.

The prank that took flesh out of my skin was when I was notified by my siblings that my laptop had turned blink because it failed on the floor. I didn't know how to process the information when I knew the kind of stuff I had stored in it, that I needed to process for important documentation of a master's degree course I was pursuing.

I was furious about how I would start over again when the timeframe was at hand. I was happy the next day when my siblings told it all a joke though. I learned because of that, not to take whatever I am being told on April 1st day as seriously

I didn't get any of the April Fool's prank yesterday, I wasn't surprise for not getting any on that yesterday, I guess it's because am not around my family, I traveled out of my state to another state since January and am still there, so my family or friend must have thought it as a bad idea to call and prank me and I didn't prank anyone too.

I think the kinds of prank that I see to be out of character are death prank, lose of a very valuable asset, lose of job. There are some people that would come up with such idea to prank others by telling them that they lost their job or that their investment have crashed, or that their dearest person is dead. Such prank are very bad because you don't know how the person might handle the information.

If it's April 1st, I don't take anything at face value unless I am shown enough evidence first. But anyhow, it's been ages since someone did April fools prank on me, last I remember was in high school which was more than decade ago.

IMHO, there is no exception if it's hurting anyone who are they trying to do it as a victim. It's not a good time to joke and despite with too much problem of many, I know that others are only trying to do it for the sake of fun. But it's good thing that day has already passed. Because people who have probably plan some need to know that they have no idea of what their potential victims are going through so, they need to be careful on this and that is why I don't even planned of doing anything whenever this day comes.

This year's April Fool version on the platform was not that crazy or mindblowing like last year's, though. I had to wake up to the notification of my account being scrapped, and I just burst into laughter because I already knew the trick. This was what happened last year on April Fool's day on the other platform when  I received a notification of an account ban. It was very frightening, though, because such a message at that time wasn't funny. After all, we knew what was involved in building an account to that high level.

Although many people were caught off-guard by this year's event, I came across a post online where a man decided to prank his wife with a divorce, and it went south for him. Something that should be a thing of play for the April Fools event turned out to be a family settlement. Sometimes, some pranks can be very funny, and sometimes some pranks can result in conflict, but it just depends on how it was done so that it doesn't seem too obvious.  If I see the post, I will update the link here for all to read.

First time bitcointalk did April fool prank, I fell for it (I forgot to mention this in my previous comment), but after that first time it became obvious and I no longer fall for it. Now, I only see hope for me falling if they do something really sophisticated.

Not everyone do remember that it is an April fool day when the day approaches, many would have been lost in some other activities and forget that the day is already upon them. I hope there is always an announcement when an April fool day is coming for everyone to get prepared for it, so that many people don’t fall victim of some actions that may affect them physically or psychologically. It is suppose to be a fun at really, but when it becomes too extreme, it jokes with people’s mindset which will affect their well being. The April Fool day when celebrated in other forums like BTT is already knows by users who have been long there, so they don’t feel surprised when a prank is being played on them anymore, only those witnessing it for the first time are affected mostly by it.

I would not panic anymore if I got any of those coordinated pranks on the first day of April because I already got the clues over the years, and I am somehow adapted to pranks and tricks involved, so no need to get frightened over nothing.  Although others might fall for the trick, I believe not everyone would get caught in the web.

Some people have no reservations when it comes to pranks that they can do on April Fools Day. Some pranks have been very costly, but still not many people care.

Think about this, something I read somewhere: what if April fools day is actually on the second, and it has been a prank all along to do it on the first ;D

I nearly forgot about this year April if not I was reminded a day before I would have had the highest prank of the year, so when it showed up I already knew this was a prank so I just played along so that I wouldn't spoil the happy moment. Actually there are kind of prank you would get on April fool you would almost have a high blood pressure because of how real it will look, I remember how someone was prank on this April that his warehouse has gotten ablaze and for ten minutes the guy could not alter any word before he was told that it was a prank.

Many people forget about April Fool's Day because different verbs make the day seem more memorable but when someone plays April Fool's on you, then you will still be amazed and remember the day. The topic or day is funny but many people take the prank as absolutely true, which can affect them physically or psychologically. I've been April Fooled a few times from the btt forum, but the April Fools' Day celebrated on this forum is already known to users who have been there for a long time and it happens every time.

I always have it in mind whenever it is close to the first day of April, because it is now a tradition I am very familiar with, and the pranks that come with it are very interesting because it is fun though but it does not sweep me off my feet. People are good at pranking, and they get their mission fulfilled. I read online where a man pranked his wife with a divorce, and it went south for both of them, and the man regretted his actions and vowed never to do such again in his life. Sometimes pranks turn out to be what we never envisaged, and lots have happened as a result of pranks gone wrong.

Yeah, that’s true but it has already be made known that no one should take any information seriously expect it’s from the horses mouth. Although some announcements or information pass on April fool are real and not fake but due to that day it’s a joke day, most people might not take it serious, until the next day if the information still remains the same, that is when they know it’s real and that will still give them the shock or scare them.
So it doesn’t matter if an information is pass on that April fools day or not, whatever Information that is not pleasant to the ear do shock or scare people out. So it’s always better to be ready for any kind of information.
