when we are betting, usually we put aside our persona, biases in order to make analysis that are closer to accuracy for example if your favorite team doesn’t seem to be at the top of their performance, you shouldn’t bet on them just because they are your favorite
now what happens if you bet on someone you think would win but your favorite team which you did not bet on wins it instead? will you be happy that your favorite team won or will you be disappointed that the team you bet on lost?

Let me ask you a question that I think will answer your question.
Assuming you are receiving $500 weekly. You have excess after your basic needs. You use the recommended amount which is 1% to bet from the money. That is $5 which you use to bet. Will you not be happy because you lost $5?
That is the best approach but individuals will still need to answer the question after betting responsibly.

Why should it be a conflicted bet if your team loses because you made a bet or you didn't bet your team wins, don't you think football is entertainment or gambling should be considered fun?
We know every losing bet will be disappointed, and every favorite team wins then you will be happy especially in addition while betting your pleasure doubles.
But in any soccer betting do not care about that the important thing is to bet with ready to lose if you lose because you have to accept reality.

You’d be happy your favorite team won, but also a little disappointed because you lost the bet. It’s like a mix of good and bad feelings. You’re proud of your team but wish you had bet on them.

lol if i lost my bet whichever that win isn't my favorite anymore ;D jsut one example that analysis could go wrong.
it usually happen when you think the other team has an upper hand. i have my wrong analysis as well when i see a fighter that isn't in his prime anymore but suddenly he rise up and use all his might to win outsmarting his opponent through his experience.

It will depend on the position on the table and how important the bet is, which, of course, is the amount. If I already know my favorite team does not need the points and the points will not change the outcome of the results they already have on the Premier League table or any table they are in, I'll be happier to win my bets and for my favorite team to lose the game because I will take it as compensation.

Everything balances itself here. If my favourite team loses the match and I make money from the bet, it is a great consolation for me not to feel disappointed.
Again, on the other hand, if I lose the bet and my favourite team wins, I will still console myself with the win.
The only thing that can help me or any other gambler have a neutral feeling towards such a situation is if they bet with what they can afford to lose.

The thing you are mentioning here is basically a matter of emotion. Now, each person's emotion is different. So the answer here will be different for each person.
And in this case, I don't think there is any conflicted betting here. Even if the team I support or the team that is my favorite wins, my favorite will still be my favorite, even if they lose, I may criticize their bad performance from time to time.
But that doesn't mean that there is any reason being sad or happy for my betting to lose or win with their winning.

Similar situation I was in, in recently concluded cricket tournament called Champions Trophy. My home team was india and it being home team, it was of course my favorite but I didn't bet on it and bet on opponents (New Zealand) because it had better odds but they had chance to make it, so I thought why not.
In the end India won and I lost the bet but I was happy cause it was home team that won. So there you go.

This actually happen a lot to most gamblers including me but we all know a loss is a loss we may feel a little disappointment for the decision we did but it's bearable if we lost the amount we can afford but if not then we may have a problem. This situation also depends on how much a gambler will place his or her bets some confident gamblers might go for an all in, half of the budget or just a small percentage out of their hard earned money so the results will also vary depening on the situation.

You whichever side wins, you'd be happy right?
I have not thought of it being worth doing because I only look at the stats upon betting on sports I'm not fully aware like soccer. If the team is a bookmakers favorite yet the odds is almost like 1.40, its already a value bet. Not minding any personal favorite team, after all my country aren't part of those league.

It really depends on how big my bet is. If I am very sure that the other will lose and I bet a huge amount of money because of my confidence that the team I bet on will win, and I lose the bet, that will hurt my pocket, and of course I will feel disappointed, but it's not something that will linger.
But if I bet with money that I can afford to lose and the opposing team, which is my favorite team, happen to win, then I will be happy that my favorite team won.

would it not feel like an absolute betrayal? lol had you stayed loyal on your favorite team you would have won and won more too since they were not really the favorites but money is money and we were too scared to risk it on the team that thought to be weak and underperforming even if it is still your favorite team
it is just hard to feel completely happy for the winning team because it certainly dampens a mood on the winning moment since you lost some money

At first while gambling I don't attached any feelings to the gambling than solely focusing on the game or team that would give me possible winning, usually when I am placing bet and I noticed that my team wouldn't win the bet I will solely give it to those I feels could win and if it happens that my instinct was wrong and my favorite team won then it is my fault that I didn't chose wisely to give winning to the club which I think could be win. Of lately there are some weak clubs that has been winning the stronger clubs which I think anyone making prediction and giving the stronger clubs winning would lose entirely because their instincts would failed them wooly.
