Title: Always check your communication gadgets for your safety.
Post by: Cryptsafe on April 09, 2025, 10:36:30 PM
I had to put up this thread for our own good as I believe there are likely some of us here who have little or no knowledge about this happening and they just keep wondering how their information gets to the public or how come they observe things changing after they have had conversation with someone confidentially to embark upon something or so. Have you ever wondered why sometimes it seems that your information or privacy is breached? Many people have no idea about this whole happenings and they would just assume or conclude that it just happened like that and maybe that is how it was destined to happen, but this is far from the truth. Your communication can be tapped, leading to your privacy being breached. People get attacked or robbed when they do not inform anybody around them about the money they took home or maybe documents that are highly confidential to events or assets being stolen.

I should let you know that most of these happenings occur as a result of your phone being tapped by unknown people without your knowledge. From there, they get your information through calls or text messages, which they act upon, and you have no idea how your information leaks. Some use it to blackmail each other, and lots more crimes are being committed as a result of this act.

It is nice to do a regular check on our phone to always make sure we verify how secured our communication is and also to disconnect any possible tap or breach on our line so that such information leakage does not continue. I will put up some code which can be used to check for ourselves if our numbers are wired or tapped and also to disconnect our numbers if tapped.

Below are some codes to use to verify if our lines are tapped or wired or on divert;

To know if your phone is tapped, dial *#21#

Dial this code to see where your information is being tapped or diverted to when your line is not reachable: *#62#

To disconnect your tapped line, dial ##21#

You discover that your call forwarding is enabled when you are unreacheable, dial ##62#

To disable all call forwarding settings, dial *#002#

To check all network connections on an Android phone, dial ##197328640##

This information was sourced online, and for further findings, you can check here (https://www.avast.com/c-signs-your-phone-is-being-tapped). Note that these codes are being sourced from online materials, as seen, and I am not liable for whatever actions they may result in.

I had to bring this topic here as a result of the nature of its sensitivity. As a matter of fact, it is good that members see and read it because lots are happening and we do not have clues how they happen or hoe information got to the public knowledge. I believe if finish reading it, members would take caution and adhere to some safety measures to protect their communication.

Here is the link to the original thread as written by me on the other platform. I believe this could be of great help in the community, hence my bringing it here.

I didn’t know about this before. Thanks for sharing this information. It makes sense now how some private things can suddenly get out. I’ll try those codes and check my phone. It’s good you brought this up. We all need to be more careful and protect our privacy.

I am glad you know about this now; you can share this information with your family, friends, and loved ones so that they, too, can be safe. I will also advise that you regularly do this as a routine so that you will be sure your phone is free of being tapped because that is a breach of one's privacy, and if sensitive information goes out, you just do not know who is getting such through your calls so one just needs to be extremely careful to stay safe.

Thanks for bringing this up, I keep on receiving random calls outside the country and I am starting to investigate it on my own. They seem to be from one country based on its country code number. But I am not answering any of them and that is how I am taking care of my safety and if some random links sent to me, I am being careful too.

So, does this mean every active call forwarding that we don't enable on our own means our phone is tapped? I read somewhere that our carrier can activate them on their own too, so I guess our control is a bit limited. I don't use this feature at all, but it's useful for business. I guess they need more than a simple call forwarding check to see if their network is secure or not.

Speaking of spam calls, there's a high chance your number has been leaked by apps like digital loan apps. Most of them sell your data to online parties, afaik. There's little we can do if the carrier we choose also have terrible data security too.

You are right, anybody well placed in a good position in the society can be a target, but you will agree with me that some people who are not in positions are also target because they are been monitored by agencies and other people for instance I have heard of incidence online that occured between two couples in which the female was monitoring her husbands call log and text messagse to know what he is always up to. That is a sign of insecurity on the part of the woman, and it led to serious issues between both of them because the wife was tracking him and also got his line tapped. It is just important that we regularly check on our gadgets to make sure we have this under check for our safety and to shield us from unnecessary troubles.
