I was discussing with a colleague who is also like a mentor earlier about my trades lately and how i might be putting trading on hold for some time due to the market volatility but he told me he has been making profits from some coins which he bought early through BG onchain. Then I recalled receiving some notifications about it few days but I wasn’t interested.
When i saw the profits he made from RFC and AGAWA, I thought to myself “here i am thinking of taking a break”. Honestly, i find it interesting when opportunities like these arise because alot of traders are in loss presently. I just understood the importance of getting updated because it helps. I’m sure there are other opportunities like this Onchain feature that will help make profits. How do you get updated to stay ahead in crypto space ?

I basically use 4 platforms to keep up to date on crypto
The forum itself (Bitcointalk too), X, Youtube and Discord
The forums need no introduction
On X I follow various users who reflect my interests, which at the moment are airdrops and new projects
On Youtube I follow some X users who need to make videos for more detailed content
and on Discord, perhaps one of the best ways to find this knowledge: by participating in the communities
If you're interested in trading, for example, it's interesting to find a community, paid or free, that also has the same interest. In my experience, it's the best way to find good projects earlier than most

I agree with you. That's what we should always check to be updated on crypto. The forum is really unbiased, they have a filter so that fake posts or scam projects can't survive. We can also confirm if a project is legit on this forum. As for x, it's okay, but you need to check carefully that the tweets are real, don't follow users here who spread fake news or just solely hopium.
It's not just x, youtube, forums and discord that we can get information to be updated on crypto, there are also some sites that publish articles about crypto such as cointelegraph and investopedia.

some traders or investors are really in loss presently likewise some traders are printing huge profits from the market taking advantage of the news and economical imbalance. But the Market is really something else since Trump tariffs start but we hope to see the betterment soon.
Keeping your self updated on news about crypto and other online news is really a very and perfect idea cause with some update or news one can change his/her life.
However this forum alone as contributed a lot for me and many users keeping them updated about any crypto news or any other activities that is very useful to individuals. The forum is a perfect and strong opportunity to get updated about a certain news and they are other forums that can keep you more updated and some platform which the other colleagues mention earlier. Being updated about news can give you more knowledge and opportunity against some token as a investors and will help you in trading some currency pairs if one is into trading.
After all it for one’s betterment for future.
-
The few platforms I get updates from are X, CoinDesk, and Cointelegraph. Sometimes, I stumble on random updates from other social media platforms like Facebook, but not all of these updates are reliable.
To confirm the authenticity of most of the updates we come across, it's important to join a community of crypto enthusiasts where you can share ideas, including the latest news. Cryptocurrency forums have been very useful in this regard.

+ karma for you
The forum community is very good at detecting possible scams
On X there are many fake users who can give the impression of validating an account, but here on the forum it is quite difficult to do this
There's always someone here to help confirm whether something is real or not

Right, we shouldn't just blindly trust anyone specially in social media. There are this so called crypto influencers too, who you think is an expert, but nevertheless they are just like you and me, just ordinary investors. So it's very important to validate everything. Even on the early days of Bitcoin, 4chan was the twitter and it was a good source but now it's totally different. It's almost all pump and dump and shills projects are now being discussed there.

Why do I have this feeling that you are shilling for this shitcoins that you are mentioning?
Anyways, just do proper research on coins that you want to invest. Scouring everything, most of the members have recommended what platform that you need to look at.
And again, DYOR as there could be some sites that are pulling all projects before they will be released, the more source the better.

In terms of degen Bitcointalk might be late in delivery.. discord and twitter is the best choice imo.. or those groups from telegram etc. but you can also use onchain options on exchanges. Bybt has a dex wallet that tracks trending tokens. Bitgtonchain is there too, allows you flip tokens from your spot accounts and tracks base, sol and bsc tokens. Analytical tools like Arkham is another option. Just do your research and you'll be fine

it is always good to just take everything with a grain of salt just because someone said a project is good does not mean you should just blindly follow that advice and invest in the project right away i also do not think following "crypto influencers/experts" are such a good idea because they could also be getting payment from various projects so that they will promote them on their social media

Apart from X and Youtube through which i also gain information from, the forum is the only community i’ve joined so far and if I’m being honest i’ve gained alot. I heard Discord is also a good one but I’m still finding my way around it. Although i don’t fully trust all the info on X because some influencers tend to promote projects for their selfish interests.

Your thoughts are wrong because i don’t have that in mind. Will look into the platforms recomended though i’ve joined some before but you mentioned some sites that pull projects before release, if you know some I would like to know.

Yes, I agree
Sometimes news can come out on the forum, while it has already happened on other social networks a week ago for example
The response time is much longer, but the reliability is also greater
No social network can be 100% effective, I believe that the use of at least 3 different places, can help the user to find the information and that it is useful and safe
One thing I would also like to add, maybe it is our “duty” to bring newer information to the forum, things from DeFi, Degens, airdrops etc so that other people can also take advantage of this information
Little by little I try to bring information about airdrops here

This is the best place we can ask for help especially with crypto and we can assure that most of our problem that are related can be fixed if we post it here. There are many members here who have different experiences in crypto, and some of them have the same problem of you before and fixed it. You can get help of what you really need for your problem, it's just up to you which of their replies or posts that can really help you. So if we have any concerns about crypto especially those beginners out there who are still exploring crypto, you can ask here for free.

That is too much of channels to follow that I would be lost working on which data I would take in seriously. There are channels everywhere today each of them telling something different to each crypto they support. Shilling tokens that may never really be listed in the market.
If there is airdrop channel, I think that's where the opportunity to get some tokens for free we could just get and wait if there is value to these tokens.
Other way to get ahead is just watch the market, sell high and buy low.

That's true because X that people are getting there information from can sometimes not reliable because nobody can validate that any information sent there is true or false, so that means that anybody can wake up one morning and cook up a spicy Story that would entice people and they will believe, so actually I visit X but not because I get my Information from them, so like jeraldskie11 has said forum is the best place to get any information especially crypto information because a fake information cannot come to the community without people noticing that is fake.

That's really a very good question, I am not that ahead in crypto space but these forums helps us updated, we can learn any news form either bitcointalk and from altcointalks there are some very cool sections that we must visit to get knowledge like news section, announcements sections and the altcoin section of Bitcointalk is really full of knowledge.
Besides these forums we can prefer Twitter and the Telegram as our main source of information but it is not about finding the opportunity the big hurdle I have seen is using that opportunity.
-
I don't trade, so i am not looking for any updates regarding trading. However, if we are talking about platforms where i get crypto news and platforms where i read the latest information regarding crypto, then it is in crypto forums, i.e. bitcointalk and altcoinstalks, i also read from other sources, but i prefer these two.

You have that mentor so it would be better to follow them because they are ahead in crypto so by following them we can remain ahead and learn new methods to make money. Although you are right about one thing that when we make huge loss we tend not to trade but rest.
But in the meantime many good opportunities came into being which we misses therefore either it's good time or bad time we should keep an eye on market and look for opportunities. My method was simple at first, like following different influencers on telegram and joining events they do but now I have joined too many groups that I don't know which one to follow haha.

Telegram has never been a very good source for information because I believe there is more fabricated information than reality shared on that platform. One more thing is that most influencers aren't always honest with what they share with their audience because they are mostly inclined to do things that benefit them and not the audience watching them, even though I know this doesn't apply to every single one of them, but at least most of them do this and I've seen this myself.
Thus, I believe a person should have multiple sources to get information. This way, when you get a news or information from one channel, you can cross-check it with the information provided on other channels to see if the information you received is actually authentic or it's fabricated, and this will help you have better knowledge and mostly-authentic information about this space.
-
If you want to keep up to date on crypto you can use twitter and telegram media channels. Also btt and alt are the best forums where you can get direct opinions on crypto. I follow twitter media a lot and spend a lot of time there. I follow various users who are very expert in crypto and research them especially when some airdrops and new projects enter the market. I joined some trading and signal groups on Telegram and gathered the necessary updates from there. Finding good projects requires a lot of research, so the more active you are on social media the more updates you will receive about crypto.
-

I also prefer these two but you have seen the source links to the news been shared here. Those sites can give more idea about the market they have their own telegram channels where they give all the news date wise and time wise which is way better than reading news directly from site.
Because on their telegram channels we can read the headings and can find the interesting news easily and with just one click we can open the site. This method is easy and other than this method I have joined many influencer's channels too so I could get latest updates that actually matters and I might have missed them in news channels.

I can't agree more with you on this because I have also faced this and many times I was fed with fabricated news but it is easy to be careful like you said by confirming the new from multiple sources. I have joined a lot of telegram groups. That's why it is not hard to confirm news.
We can easily confirm the news by checking the source links, if someone is feeding you wrong knowledge about any specific platform too, we can confirm it if they have given the source link otherwise don't use that channel for information.

I don't have much time to follow too many news sources. I regularly use Telegram, so I joined the channels of a few crypto magazines, and I also follow a few professional crypto analysts.
Thanks to their summaries and sharing of perspectives, I have a deeper understanding of the market's state and the reasons behind each major event. This helps me save a lot of time while still having a fairly complete understanding of those events. AltcoinsTalks is also an interesting place to read news and member comments to understand what's going on.

How do you get updated to stay ahead in crypto space ?
One way is tagging along to people more informed than you are and staying in close contact. Social media has made it easier to follow popular news outlet and even set up notifications on their post to ensure that anytime they make a new post as news, you can be among the first individuals to see it.
Information travels better now and more easier to obtain so long as you don’t get distracted online.

I agree with the fact that it is useful to admire those who know more, however, if you fully immerse yourself in them, it can be dangerous. Frequently in the realm of crypto, much like elsewhere, time is the essence and so is information, but so are truth and context. Most of the people in high authorities have this much influence and at times power also serves their purpose. If you are under the regimen ofEventType notifications and all new posts, without any elements of selection, then you can become a victim of hype, not an addressee of the necessary information. As for me, it is more significant to get used to philtre the information yourself, to be conscious of the sources you are reading, and to remain rather composed when you make your choices. It is impressive to proceed fast, to make hasty decisions, but far more valuable is to think well and deep.

Of course if the update is about trading then there is no need following anything or even subscribing because I'm not good in trading so those updates will be meaningless to me, however let's say we are traders what would the update even do for us If we are only relying on ourselves to trade. However since I joined those two forums I never bored myself to seek for crypto information elsewhere because if there should be any reliable place for information accuracy that would be the place, but information about price of Bitcoin I can get it another place since there is no difficult thing about it.
-

Do you mean trading channels on telegram? I don't trade, so i don't need to join trading channels and i also believe that many of these trading channels that sell trading signals are fraudulent. However, if you are talking about crypto news, i do not get any from telegram.
-
I recently took a break from trading (mainly leveraged) due to the stagnant market at 85k and I'm only accumulating sats via DCA.
Since I spend most of my time on the forum, I follow most of the events on both forums. I'm also using Threads a lot, but I always think twice before making any purchase or sale decision.
Occasionally I use Telegram to follow news, market and on-chain updates and movements etc.
I usually follow two YouTubers. It's not good to follow so many influencers, because each one thinks differently, and instead of making things easier, the chances of confusing your mind are greater.
I also notice that I'm reading more crypto news sites to keep up to date.
However, regardless of the market scenario, I continue to do DCA and only sell BTC when I think it's necessary.

There are many ways I can get crypto updates, even for a new project that does an airdrop campaign and the like that gives great rewards.
Social Media X and Telegram are the main platforms to get new information about crypto and some chat groups on Telegram are very helpful to know about new projects and what is hyped in crypto, I even keep getting the latest notifications as people continue to discuss them.
If we open X frequently and follow a lot of accounts related to crypto and the projects being discussed, we will also get the latest notifications. There are many ways I can get crypto updates, even for a new project that does an airdrop campaign and the like that gives great rewards.

We have to realize that we need more of being informed and connected to the right channels or sources to information that are reliable, not only that, we also have to keep updated in all we do because there are new informations and updates always about cryptocurrencies and being current requires that we are active online and well connected to the right sources to the information.

Well it is upto you to follow any channel but telegram can be a very good source for information and its notification system is very handy. We can easily keep track of the news and export data from any date and can use it in many ways.
For example the news for some specific topic like BTC but first we have to join some good groups and channels which share good knowledge with proper format. Not all trading groups on telegram are fraudulent, many famous influencers have their groups made on telegram and they share useful information in them.
