There are many of us who are so addicted to gambling that it has become a situation of bringing our family down. Although we play it through joy, we gradually become very addicted to it and we lose all our money there. There are many who have turned their peaceful life into chaos because of this gambling and even then they are not able to give up gambling. There are many such news that they are asking their parents for money because of gambling and they torture their parents for not giving them money. I mean what should we do at this time so that we can give it up and even if we play it, it is very less which does not put stress on us or cause any chaos.

First, the person should know that gambling sites sets the odds for themselves to win and gamblers to be losing. If they see you on their site, they are happy because they know that more money is coming. This will let the person know that he is not likely going to win than lose but likely going to lose than win.
Second, the person should not use more than 1% of his weekly income to gamble and that should be when he has excess and enough to save.

Addiction is the state of not having any control over your habits. Controlling what you already have no control over as a gambler is very difficult. What the gamblers should be talking about at the moment is how to heal completely from their addiction. In most cases, quitting gambling for a while to pursue other real-life activities like a real job, bonding with friends and family, and engaging in hobbies is the only solution.
For gamblers who are not yet addicted, they can help themselves by controlling how they gamble and how much time and money they spend on gambling. It is easier to do this now than to wait until everything gets out of control.

First we must be able to manage finances and if we can't then we can ask others, in this case family. Maybe we can give all the money we have so that the family can manage it and provide for our daily needs.
It's quite difficult because here we also need trust in them, because no matter the family or what if they are not honest then they will use our money.

You're ready to gamble - this means you have to be ready for the responsibilities that come with managing your bankroll and always setting limits on gambling.
Never chase losses - because it is certain that in the end you will lose, lose everything including property.
When the money deposited has run out then stop don't play anymore, don't continue to force it even though your desire to continue playing.
Make sure 1% for gambling allocation.

its hard for a gambler not to chase loss actually. somehow within us there is the need for us to win it back first before we stop.
its okay for non gamblers after all they probably just accidentally got into an online casino because of a promotion about free spin and thats it. but for a gambler who intentionally came to atry out the free spin and maybe even abuse the promotion ;D
he just got to fight the addiction if he wants his life back on track.

This is actually the biggest problem in gambling and it affect most gamblers that have failed to discipline themselves in the act because if you lack discipline whether you gamble for fun or not you will end up falling a victim of these circumstances. I have seen so many people and friends fall victim to this chronic gambling addiction and some of them even drugs added and believe it's not something you would even wish for your greatest nemesis because the person won't have the right sense to even think straight and right.

Gambling addiction is not a one-person problem. When a gambler becomes addicted, the entire family is affected. This is why, regardless of how much a gambler wins, he must exercise caution to avoid falling into the deep financial and emotional trap that is frequently the result of gambling addiction.
The best way to control gambling addiction is to avoid becoming addicted. When a gambler is addicted, he will struggle to cope with any measures prescribed to help him overcome his addiction. Living a normal life will take a long time, so a gambler should avoid addiction at all costs.

Currently, most of the people believe that gambling is just a personal issue, but this is not exactly the truth. Lack of self-control is never a desirable trait as it leads to group problem which has implications on relationships, trust and coexistence in a household. Habits of gambling are no longer a way to get entertainment and lose temper but is a repetitive method to run away. And when that escape turns into a routine, the only things that are left are exhaustion, dependency, and remorse. Not everyone can get out of the cycle in a short time and if one is deeper into it- it is even more difficult to reorganise the normal day life.

A gambler should know that gambling is meant for fun and not for quick money doubling and even if they must double funds it should be for fun and not on making extra profits from gambling. Many gamblers believed that immediately they started gambling then it's their keys to success that is why anyone who keeps thinking this way will ended up becoming an addicts gambling because there is no principles or discipline while gambling.

It's unfortunate that what you mentioned happens to some gamblers. While not everyone experiences this, I believe most irresponsible gamblers do. I agree that seeking professional help is important if we find ourselves in this situation. Although it may require a substantial amount of money and family support, it is achievable if the person involved is willing.

Yes you are absolutely right. There are many who are addicted to gambling, they basically think that from here they can double their money quickly and they can become rich very quickly. But they never think that gambling is only for entertainment which can give you some pleasure at some point. They only gamble to double their money very quickly or to become rich so quickly, so they become more addicted to it and as a result they lose all their wealth. We know that there is a lot of risk in gambling but why are we here to make money, we should start here with 5% of our all income just for entertainment, so that we will not have the possibility of becoming addicted and there will be no risk of losing money.

the fact that you allocate some money for gambling, its still going to make you chase the loss when accumulated. this won't help you quit or control you gambling spree.
one reason i have my control over my gambling is my responsibility where i have my offline job and mouths to feed. although i always watch out for some boxing and UFC fights to bet, i skip whenever i feel like the bouts are not for my to bet on.

Yes, there is one thing that cannot be stripped off from the habit of gambling and that is the urge control mechanism from within a person. When that limit is no longer felt, the habit that was initially identified as enjoyable turns into activity that occupies a lot of things for instance time, emotions and relationships. We can safely suggest that some have learnt how to contain it but in the real sense, many are lost without knowing it. In that state, not only financial resources are nil, but also the opportunity to communicate with those people who are close. Freedom to change only comes with truth and this can only be sought if a person is truthful to their self. If he has not reached that, any help that comes in from the outside is ill defined. The openness is one of the starting factors that cannot be imposed but will be of great value when it comes on its own.

Gambling is just for fun, entertainment and excitement, but some people take it too personal that they can't survive even for a day without gambling, in this case we refers to people like that as a gambler addiction. They spend a lot of their time, effort and income on gambling tarnishing their own image and reputation, when they lose all they have in gambling, they will end up borrowing money to gamble, some even steal money from their parents or wife to gamble and they may end up losing. Losing their respect in the eyes of the people, seeing them as an irresponsible person.
Even if you want to gamble, gamble responsibly, don't spend all your time gambling, just do it from time to time and don't use all you have to gamble, make sure you save enough money that you sustain your life and your family.

the best way to do is to just limit the time you have for gambling instead of allowing yourself that much freedom maybe allow yourself an hour or two per weekend and it should stop there otherwise you might just keep going especially with an unlimited budget
so time limits and financial budget are good restrictions that will keep you in your place

When you have a specific funds or a limited amount to use and gamble and that amount is exhausted then you wouldn't have those chances to keep chasing losses, and of course you are right by having other jobs and activities in real life to keep someone occupied. These things could also makes one that limited to some certain things on how they keeps chasing losses.

This is true and I think changing the mindset of the gambler will makes a difference. Here in my place they think gambling can make them escape poverty. Some believe they are lucky but it turns out they are wrong. Habits and discipline should be taken into consideration when it comes to become a responsible gambler.

I think one of the main reasons for gambling addiction is not being able to control our greed and emotions. So if we don't want to become addicted to gambling, we need to learn to control these two things first.
In addition, what we can do is follow a specific plan before we start gambling, and that can be by setting limits on our winnings and losses. I think these things are very effective in preventing gambling addiction.

People still believe that gambling is an escape from some circumstances such as poverty regardless of the implications of the similar statement made by the Pope. When relying solely on luck, one fails to realise that the game system is created in such a manner that there isn’t any possibility of a positive outcome in the long run. This not only motivates people to keep on with the game but also leads them in a loop, which is very hard to escape. Admittedly, people have a great desire to free themselves from the stresses of life, but relying on such unpredictable games, in fact, we can lose even more than expected. This alters the perception to understand that this is not utilised as a means of enhancing life situation and experiences.

Exactly. And that is the reason why gamblers lose more because of this greed and most of the time playing with emotions. I think most of us experienced that way but in my case I am safe now because I already have decided to stop gambling for good.

If the purpose of gambling is right, then there will be less risk of addiction. But we make a mistake at the beginning. A gambler does it because his purpose is to gain a lot of money from gambling or to become rich through gambling. If everyone has the same purpose, then of course not everyone can become rich. But no one knows what will win, that is why they gamble. I think there is nothing wrong with gambling but if the gambler keeps it under control. If gambling is used for entertainment purposes instead of for earning money, then the possibility of addiction will be less. To avoid the situation you have described, you must refrain from becoming addicted.

If one reaches that point then it's time to stop, Gambling never gives joy it's just pleasure there is huge difference between both terms. So one should know how to balance the life and their personal needs such as pleasure and when one affects the other then stepping away is the right move and don't try to gamble again that just aggrevate things that brings chaos and ruin peace...

Every time a habit becomes chaotic the order of life is disrupted, that is when one realises that something has gone overboard. It is for this reason that gambling is seen to give people a certain level of control over a certain activity, and in most cases this is not real sense. The feeling that one gets is normally not as bad as the harm that is done to the comfort that has been created over time. If pleasure is a reason to forget sanity then we must take a break to cheque direction. There is no need to have artificial noise so as to make life colourful and vibrant. Otherwise, it’s not worth it to maintain a calm to continue animating the game and people’s lives.

i think if the gambler is aware that there are low chances of him winning then he can accept that he must just keep playing for enjoyment and leisure but not for gambling to serve as a source of income this way he will not force to make profit from gambling but just accept the win when it comes
it is also important that we know just how much we can afford to lose so that we do not try to risk any more than what we can afford so do not have a mindset that you are rich if you are not

When gamblers focus on the experience rather than the money, they can easily manage their expectations and have fun. Most of the time, expectations cause desperation, which leads to chasing losses, and a gambler who chases losses is on the verge of becoming addicted.
In fact, understanding that gambling will always benefit the bookies will help the gambler set realistic expectations. However, expecting to win is not a bad thing, but those lucky moments should not influence a gambler's mindset into expecting so much.

i know someone who use to be in the cockfighting area every sunday, when he discover he does have a green thumb for planing lettuces, he kept himself busy and plant more in his backyard. thats one day to control addiction.

Of course, when you fimd an alternative for gambling, you will definitely stop thinking an out gambling but focus more on what you have chosen to use go replace your gambling activities. I was once an addict, what I do when I was coming out from addiction was to always play video games and it worked for me.

Though lack of working doesn't prevent anybody from gambling because that someone is not working doesn't mean they are not making any little from other business because is not possible for someone to stay without any money, as the matter of fact 50 percent of gamblers doesn't have work that is given them money but they will continue to gamble. To prevent being an addict is controlling the gambling habits weather the person has money or not because is even mostly those that doesn't have that usually fall an addict.

There are many such news that they are asking their parents for money because of gambling and they torture their parents for not giving them money.
Any adult who still demands money from others for the purpose of gambling is an irresponsible individual who, instead of gambling, should be looking for ways to fix their life. If you have a friend, brother, father or person who occasionally demands money form you to gamble, and you keep giving them, you are endorsing the behaviour, and the day you decide not to give to them any longer to that end, it may become a problem then.

Gambling is not a mere issue of having or having no money, it is about how a person deals with what may be a mere hope of something that may never be realised. That is, when half of the gambling holds the jobless status, this does not necessarily mean that these people do not get any money, but all the money is used in a manner that negates necessity. Under such circumstances it has been observed that concept of logic and decision making does not tally. Despite the lack of money, it is invested in gambling no matter what the cost is to the self and the society. Here it is evident that what one should look at is not the rank of job but where the control over the desires that remain active is positioned. Without that control the gambling goes circular and repeats itself despite the amount available.

To me I think establishing a strick limit on time and money spent on gambling can help individuals maintain control. and reducing the frequency of amount of gambling can help one transition to healthier habits, but the most effective approach depends on the individual specific circumstances and needs with a combination of self awareness support and strategic planning can help one develop good relationships with gambling.

Yes, making definite limits as to the time and amount of money that are to be spent can surely reduce the possible occasions to lose control of oneself and, indeed, such regulations must have a good starting impact. However, I also believe that such a number or duration cannot prevent the appetite whenever you are under some emotions or stress. In such cases the self regulation that might have made a number of ideal contingency plans and may even tarnish the implementation procedure. I have got to know that permanence only occurs when a person identifies what makes him aspire to perform the habit, and then he disengages those urges from finding other ways of arising. Therefore even though the core answer was correct, there are other factors that have to be taken into consideration if the limit is to be observed not only this time but every single day.

Sticking to a limit means controlling one's emotions. Emotions and limitations work together. Failure to control emotions is one of the reasons it is difficult to stick to a limit. No gambler wants to lose, and when they do, it is difficult to pause and let go of the loss while there is still money to gamble with.
This anger is always difficult to control, and only a few gamblers have developed the ability to control such emotions after a loss. However, when a gambler is disciplined and not in a hurry to win or meet any expectations, it is easier to maintain control.

Gambling involves uncertainty and risk. In both situations, when a gambler wins or loses, he can make any decision based on his emotions, which can be detrimental to his gambling. Especially if a gambler loses repeatedly, at that time he does not stop his betting, but gets angry and tries to bet more, but the result is that his losses increase. If emotions are uncontrolled, he does not hesitate to lose his savings or the money he needs to use for emergency in gambling. And at some point he will become an addicted gambler. In my opinion, if a gambler can control himself after losing or winning, especially if he can take a break from betting, then he will definitely be able to control his emotion and same time it help to control addiction.

Anger is a bad feeling that leads to nothing good. It makes our impulses increase more without caring much about the consequences, but only for that moment, The consequences are very serious later However, taking it to another level, it is not possible to determine how dangerous it is That is why it is better to get rid of that anger, and if you are playing, it is best to stop playing and not continue because later you will lose a lot of money That is what you should avoid.
-
I mean what should we do at this time so that we can give it up and even if we play it, it is very less which does not put stress on us or cause any chaos.
If you're losing a lot and still your mind wants to play, it's better to open up to your loved ones or people close to you, or better yet, be under a physician and undergo rehabilitation to totally cure your addiction.
The hardest thing about addiction is your pocket cannot keep up, but you are drawn to playing, so we read or hear news about people taking out a loan to sustain their gambling addiction, and they end up losing more money and their well-being because of depression.

Gambling addiction did not just set in one day, it must have taken time to build to that level that it can not be easily resisted by the gambler. This is most time caused as a result of excessive chasing of losses which cannot be controlled by the gambler, and as such, they always want to recover their losses because they feel the need to do so and they forget that the casinomechabism was designed or built in the way that the odds always ends in the favour of the house so if any gambler wins, it is lick on their side.
So the first thing to do to avoid gambling addiction is to set aside a gambling budget and learn to gamble responsibly. Do not exceed your gambling time per scheduled day. Once your budget for the day finishes, take leave from the casino; likewise, if you begin to lose games too.

In first place I suggest most parents to create awareness for their teenagers as that's the age where someone doesn't understand things properly, and at that stage it's good to teach them about responsibility in general.
The ones who don't understand responsibility can be addicted to gambling and such people can't really get rid of that addiction. Once someone learns responsibility and then that person can somehow learn gambling responsibility as well and might not get addicted to gambling.

I don’t really get tormenting their parents just to give them money to gamble, that’s absurd and not something commendable. The way addiction comes into people they don’t realise and the process of leaving it is the hardest of it all. The gambling industry is very addictive generally especially when you get a big win in your early days in gambling, your optimism overrides all and make you have confidence that you’ll win more games coming your way, that confidence is gradually leading to addiction and when you don’t control yourself by limiting how much you spend on every bet, you won’t know when the addiction will take over you. Prevention is better than cure, so don’t allow yourself get into it so much that you become an addict.

That’s right, but most people are not aware of that, even if they are aware, ignorance will not let them do the needful.
So it’s advisable for one to gamble responsibly and also gamble with what they can afford to lose in order not to loss much of their money, they should know what gambling is all about before they should gamble.

Actually, to be honest, people start gambling just for fun, but later it turns into an addiction. To get rid of this gambling addiction, we must spread awareness. We should spread the horror of this gambling among everyone in society. Because many people are becoming destitute by playing this gambling. And of course, we should teach them to take responsibility in the family from a young age. Because if someone has family responsibilities, then he will never waste money on such gambling. So we should actually warn everyone about the horror of this gambling.

Well to an extent it's quite possible to control gambling addiction. To control it, one must first be self aware that he or she is an addict, and should be willing to receive support for help from professionals who are best equipped for handling gambling addiction.
Recovery starts with recognizing the problem, avoiding triggers, and seeking counseling and support groups for gamblers. While it may be a very tough battle so many have overcame, and have successfully regained control .

I think a professional gambler will never be able to quit gambling so easily. Because I saw a proof that I saw myself today that one of my elder brother was sitting next to me gambling and I was next to him. I noticed that he was losing more than he won. And as a result he became more addicted to it. I saw that his betting was very low at first but when he was slowly losing, he was betting a lot of money and slowly lost all his money. So I would say that if a person is addicted to gambling, he will not be able to get out of it so easily. For this, he needs to get ideas from many experienced people on how he can quit.

I do not wish for a gambler to become addicted. Gambling addiction is a dangerous disorder that is difficult to overcome; however, it is not impossible to overcome. However, a gambler who is addicted must be aware that he is addicted and needs help.
It is at this point that a gambler can seek help to overcome their addiction, as admitting that they are addicted is extremely difficult. Gamblers are known for their secrecy when gambling.

Gambling is one of those habits that can take a toll in one’s life, and this paper is in agreement with the fact that this is one of the hardest things that many would admit they are going through. Generally, those persons who have already got addicted to gambling are much more interested in concealing this issue from others and from themselves as well. However, when a person starts to become aware that they need any type of aid this is considered to be a major step. The process of recovery could be slow and strewn with challenges but there exist a lot of support structures for this. It has to be noted that only with the will to do it and the readiness to change a person can navigate through these steps.

Well in this aspect things will always be very good when you have enough willpower, it is very difficult to fight against someone who does not have willpower, it is almost impossibl e, I personally have always said that every illness or addiction has a cure, but you have to want to be cured, that is the first thing and be willing to make any kind of sacrifice to be cured , if the person is clear about it the addiction can disappear quickly, but if the person in Question does not do their part, that is really difficult.

I fully agree with the statement above pointing out that willpower is what makes people begin changing; however, it should be mentioned that one has to have enough patience and readiness to work for a long time. Addiction is not always about one having to fight with their spirit but it is about those habits which have been built over the years. But even when a person has a good desire to change significantly for the better, they also need time and opportunity to discover and develop proper, healthy habits instead of trying to get relieved from impulsive thoughts and actions right away. If they carry on with that, the chances which they hope to get shall be easier to get even if they face several challenges.

I believe that everything is present in the way we see things, if we are people who are simply seeing everything from a crazy point of view it is difficult for addiction not to arrive, addiction will always arrive due to the lack of absolute responsibility, there is no other way, then when it gets worse is when specialists are needed, and that appears when the person has been sufficiently irresponsible with themselves, I see that addiction happens because of that, and that in the same way one has to rob but starting with the person themselves.

Every people has the potential to transform his life but this requires putting in efforts, and being conscious and awake to what is going on around. It often becomes more than simply poor behaviour patterns, but interpretation and interaction with interpersonal experience when one is caught in an addiction. As many as the people may try to enthuse and inspire us to change, it requires the individual to take responsibility for breaking the cycle. The book looks at the possibilities of the process of recovery with ones’ self at a point where they can decide to stop, see things differently and not feel that they are victims of their circumstances. The first step towards new life is to accept an idea that you can start transforming your life from where you are today.

Whatever we do, we must be able to be responsible for it, that is the main point in my opinion. We must understand that we will be the first to be harmed when we are addicted, and maybe even other people have to feel something that we actually did ourselves, for example family.
Well, awareness is important, because I believe someone can control it as long as they can understand it and be responsible for everything they do.

To control gambling addiction is what we have to do by ourselves, because it comes it how prepared we are in tackling the challenge, it may not comes as easy as we expect because we are used to that particular lifestyle already before now, but once the determination is there, then our mind is made up and we are going to gamble responsibly henceforth while the means to help out in tackling the addiction is going underground till it fully emerged.

The best approach should be religious practice. As far as I am aware, most religions directly prohibit gambling and anything related with gamblings! So, if a person is already addicted and wants to get rid of their addiction, they should probably practice their religion. At the same time, keeping oneself busy also helps, finding another source of entertainment or simply staying busy. If you don’t have free time to gamble, the addiction will eventually fade. Last but not least, spending quality time with loved ones, they surely helps greatly in this regard!

This could only be applicable to those who is relatively new to gambling. As for old members, who are addicted, it's quite hard to get rid of their addiction with just religious practices. These guys need mental support. In this case, family plays a vital role, my personal opinion obviously. Surely you wouldn't gamble in front of your mother, father, sister or brother. That's consider bad in some parts of the world.

Those who are religious may stay away from gambling but nowadays there are many who gamble regardless of religion. There are some who do not tell others about gambling but they gamble themselves and forbid others. Religion forbids gambling because a gambler will get addicted to it and face various negative incidents but if someone gambled for temporary pleaser then gambling would not be seen in such a bad light.

I think it is like this, without effort, Without Dedication there is no way you can do something well, you need a lot of willpower to do things well, Especially when it comes to addictions you have to have a lot of discipline to do things well and as they are , that is why getting out of an addiction is very difficult, but it is something that can be done, we are and we are very capable of doing any type of activity of that style.

You are right that if one does not keep on practising, they will not be able to achieve much. It is never simple to deal with an addict because there’s that feeling that something has the upper hand on us most of the time. However I do feel that education can be powerful always that if we make up our mind with determination and know that these bad habits are not part of our personality, we can avoid them gradually and in turn make some modifications. Yes this requires a lot of effort to be used while getting out of the addiction level, but of course, nothing is impossible if one is willing to employ a lot of effort and be consistent. It has been a long process, nevertheless, as long as we continue to walk and run, one day we may see ourselves out of that trap.

Its always about helping himself to accomplish what he needs to do for himself. When a gambler is already an addiction, it requires an overhaul like completely renewing a personality.
The treatment will help but its always the person who would have to love himself to improve. Or it could be an old habit he just have to quit like smoking that he just have to outgrow.

Gambling is an addictive game or a platform in which financial gains and losses occur. Gambling is basically a game in which a certain amount of money or objects or prizes are determined by something that is equally budgeted by each other. There are two sides to gambling, profit and loss. When we win, we get excited and bet more so that we can get more. But we forget that there is also loss that ends us completely. Generally speaking, we have to play both sides of gambling and the emotional state that we get after losing is only due to a little influence inside us which makes him mentally ill.

You are very right in that Sense, Addiction must be felt as something that dominates the person and forces him to do that task that harms him and in part it is something that harms him all the time, then in view of this it can be intuited that that is what must be fought , and that goes within our will and the help that we have , that is to say even so Everything is in u s, if we say: No more , then it will not Happen again, but if we have weakness in our decisions we will not be able to Carry them out.

Yes, indeed a person should help themselves, because even if the best Psychologists and Psychiatrists treat them, they have to do their part to Improve , If they don't, it's impossible, Unless they are always in a sleep cure where they are completely asleep all the time and can hardly do anything , I think that in extreme cases they have to do sleep cures, because if the person becomes dangerous , there is no other option.

Exactly one needs to improve on themselves before they can overcome some circumstances or avoid and stay away from some things that is inappropriate. Aside that even one didn’t try to work on them self even if they meet any health personnel it will Will only reduce the amount of mistakes they made but can’t stop them from making that same mistake if he or she doesn’t stop or do away with it so the victim as a lot of impact or role to play to make adjustments to him or herself.

Anyone can sit with a trained professional but pain will persevere unless individuals make themselves willing to create space for new ideas. It is unethical to expect someone who is severely weak to rise independently yet dishonest to believe they play no part. Any effort regardless of its size makes an important foundation for positive change. Inner self generates it. People demand complete medical care primarily during dangerous situations in which they become unmanageable. The essential target remains their recovery of self-awareness so they can make their future decisions independently. Healing requires the presence of the person throughout the healing process without any clear cut formula that works independently.

At the same time, I would say that they should identify the main reasons for gambling addiction such as greed, losing self control. Then make arrangements on how to prevent these things. We can easily control ourselves by doing one thing here, such as setting a limit on the amount of winning and losing in gambling, so that our gambling will be limited to a certain limit so that. Where the winning amount is not high, at least the amount of loss will be less.
