Title: Applying for D mod
Post by: dragononcrypto on April 14, 2025, 07:45:05 PM
As an update, Freemind and I are currently discussing giving access to the warning log for certain D team members. We're still working out the specifics as to the permissions that would be granted with admin etc, but it'd be based on issuing warnings and access to the warning log generally. GMs would still be required to add users to membership groups etc when required.

So if you are interested in applying please post below and specifically why you believe you should be trusted to issue warnings, your experience with reporting users, and why/how you would have good judgement for issuing warnings. You do not need to be a local/jnr mod to apply, only a D team member at minimum. The role would effectively be for a new position called D mod, per discussion in presidents lounge. This would otherwise be intended as a trial, so may be abandoned if doesn't function as intended. Ideally in future D team members in general would have permissions to view the warning log (though not issue warnings), as this can be useful when reporting users etc, but for now we are simply looking at a few mod promotions for this specific initiative.

For clarity, we already have a few D team members in mind for this, but it'd be interesting to know who would be interested in the role.

Apply below if interested.

Well, access to the warning log would probably be useful. I still don't recognize well those badges for such cases.
+1 for this initiative.

Anything to limit spam I'm here for it.

As an experienced mod on both BTT and ALT forums and also a well reserved DT member with good sent feedback records, I'm used to fighting spam every day on the forum, it's been my daily activities for years now..

+ I'm more active on the gambling board where I believe it's spammers paradise, I can easily spot and give appropriate warning tag.

+ I manage more than 70 signature participants weekly.

+ I'm not nicknamed " The sheriff" for nothing.

With this little CV of mine, hope I'm able to convinced and not confused you  8)

As your a Jnr/Local Mod then it'd make more sense for you to be a Full Mod (aka Modz) as it'd be less red tape for you, assuming you've been moderating for 1+ year and doing good job etc. I'll get a copy of the mod logs from admin and have a look at things as ideally you would replace M(IA)nixxo for gambling discussion as you definitely have the activity there to support that.

This also reminds me of needing to do brief mod review generally (which apparently *checks topic* pres comm is responsible for) as I imagine there'd be a handful of inactive mods to demote and probably a few promotions as has been a few months... but that's another story.

As a reminder and as always it's up to the President to decide these things, myself only being the advisor in such cases :)

I'm interested in being a D mod, and would appreciate if I were accepted!  :)

I agree with the examplens here. Just being able to see the warning log should be more than enough, at least for now. Issuing warnings and getting a new position can come later, if needed. For those who regularly report spam, the warning log alone would greatly help them!

I cleared hundreds of spam and reset the rules and set high standards on the Nigeria local board last year, I've been idled for some time now as there are not much spams and activities on the local board anymore. I'm active on gambling board and can take care of things.

Per previous discussion about this on other mod thread you are already under consideration for the role. I do however have to reject your application per:

please post below and specifically why you believe you should be trusted to issue warnings, your experience with reporting users, and why/how you would have good judgement for issuing warnings.

There are three questions there to answer, either individually or in combinaton. This is mainly a test of your ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively with others, which is crucial for any mod status, while also intended for us to have a better understanding of why you believe you would suit the role. Naturally we have our own opinions and perceptions of members, so it's useful to hear from the members themselves for these processes.

Application accepted (for Full/D mod). Status: pending interview, screening and mod review. Please remain patient while we complete the process, thank you.

I only concentrate on shillers and LQP spam, and I believe every time I reported a profile they receive a warning, which I guess is enough to prove my judgment is right but if that's not the case the access to warning loss is more than enough, that will make the job of keep tracking the reported profiles for repeated spam without need to go through the reporting thread.

Application accepted, you were already considered for the role.

Appreciate!! Wondering what the interview is like - hearing about this procedure for the first time, but it's cool and I will be waiting patiently. Would still appreciate if the admin can create a politics & society sub-board on n the Nigerian local board.
