Title: About the forum default time zone?
Post by: Crypto Library on April 16, 2025, 01:05:19 PM
I think I have seen a topic before about this topic but I  can't  remember  about the topic and also couldn't found that topic by searching in this board. So I am creating this topic.

Actually, as far as my observation this forum Times zone following the utc(-2).
And where my local time should be utc-(6) it shows (4) can anyone clear my confusion here, why it is showing like this?

You mean when you click on auto detect, it showed 4. When I clicked on it, it showed -1 and that is my country's time zone. It is correct here.

I guess instead for you to count it forward from the -2, you counted it backup to -6.

Save the time zone of 4 and see if it is your local time.

What is this with mentioning "topic" over and over again like you are in a rap competition and you are desperately trying to get everything you said to rhyme at the end?, at a point, It felt like I was reading where my child was learning how to make a sentence 😁, no shades bro, but you can actually do better than this incase of next time.

And I honestly don't even understand what you are asking about, and it's possible you are the one making yourself confused.

From what I have here, the forum timezone is on UTC +1 looking at my own local time, what this means is that the forum time is 1 hour ahead of my own local timezone, like right now as I am posting this comment, my local time is 3:09 pm, while the forum time is 4:09 pm..

I hope you find this understandable.

I observed recently that the timing of the forum changed or else I didn't see clearly because as of last week and 2 weeks ago, the timing of the forum was an hour late compared to my country's time zone. But as of now the time of the forum is 1 hour ahead my country's time zone. Which means the forum now uses UTC timing.

Are you sure about that ? For a long time now , ever since I joined the forum infact my normal local time is always 1 HR. Behind the forum time I a didn't bother to adjust it ever since then since a already have the offset between both of them at heart.

The only period I temporarily get a new offset to work with is if I travel to another region with a different time zone from mine and I don't even bother adjusting the one on the forum instead I add a new clock on my devices.

Check Bitcointalk's and Altcoinstalk's default time. Bitcointalk timezone is UTC, and this forum is 2 hours ahead on btt, therefore altcoinstalks is UTC +2.

On the settings, if you uses auto detect it would show your local timezone but for some reason when i hit that "auto detect" it only shows 6, when im in UTC +8 but the showed time is still correct though.

You are the only person who don't understand my question and I asked the question because I have confusion there, and I already got the answer from PX-Z.
Try to read the question carefully for understanding it next.  :P

+1
Thanks for clearing my confusion.
That's means Altcointalk forum default time zone is not following the utc,,,,,it's the UTC +2  ;D
