Someone wrote about stablecoin USDT0 and I was not sure what that is, first I thought this is just something coming from tether, but I am not sure after I saw websites.
They are claiming this is some omnichain, and USDT0 is backed 1:1 with USDT, but I am not sure if that is true.
I think they want to be on all possible chains, but I see potential danger with hidden bugs.

To be honest if I saw something like that I would think the op mistakenly had a typo error with USDT. Basically it doesn't look great to me either. What's the point of getting an unsafe token pegged to a stable coin that is In turn pegged to the US dollar?
I don't think it really adds up. We have too many developers and investors looking to create anything just to make profit regardless of if it has good security and stability too.

USDT0 is a new stablecoin issued by Tether, the company behind the USDT stablecoin. What makes USDT0 special is that it's designed to enhance security and interoperability between different blockchains, leveraging LayerZero technology.
USDT0 can be seen as an improved version of USDT as the need for crosschain interaction will soon become widespread. I think if investors already trust USDT, they will also easily accept USDT0 in the future, especially since Tether has provided evidence of quite good reserves for its stablecoin.

This could be Tether latest move in the stablecoin market as they focus on cross-chain functionality to reduce operational friction. I don't use LayerZero, but I know it's an extremely powerful and flexible Layer-0 with low integration costs. Tether choice of LayerZero is a smart decision, and USDT0 will be able to reach many new users easily.
As a DOT & ATOM holder, this makes me worried about the future of Polkadot and Cosmos. They used to be considered leading Layer-0 projects directly competing with each other, but now LayerZero has surpassed them in this race. Major client Tether has chosen LayerZero, indirectly making LayerZero stronger and more well-known through USDT0.
