Title: Why does it feel that the Rich keeps getting Richer no matter who is in power?
Post by: Machine on April 19, 2025, 01:48:07 AM
Every election season, we here promises about leveling the playing field and then helping the average citizens. But somehow no matter which political party is in charge, the wealth gap just keeps growing massively. The richer just keeps getting more and more richer, and the poor more poorer.
It seems like the rich have found a way to win no matter what happens to the economy or who runs the government, meanwhile the rest of the poor masses are stuck dealing with her rising cost, stagnant wages, and debt just to survive.
Is this just a way that capitalism works? or are there deeper structures in place to protect the wealthy and keeps the system tilted.
Would love to hear your opinions on this. Is it fixable or that is just how the world works now?

Rich guy donates shit ton of money to both presidential candidates -> one of them wins -> new president "pays up" with decisions that favors their donors fortunes. That's just how it works nowadays.

Some say pure capitalism works and what we got today isn't actual capitalism. Some are on the other end and say capitalism is doomed and we need something like comunism. Most people who defend either options don't actually know much about what they defend, and just repeat what they read online. At the end of the day I'm just doing my honest part to make my life better for my family and friends. :P

I hear people say that the rich create a system that works for them no matter what comes, be it a change of governmental power to another, political war and societal struggle, they are not affected negatively, rather in every storm they make profit from it. Because they made or created a system that works for them no matter what, they just keep on wining in all cases. It took them a length of time to create such system, and because it is working, they keep advancing in making it unstoppable, paying to all that is worth paying.

The rich men today started some years back, and if we can plan now, maybe tomorrow could be bright as well for us, just that knowing the system that works best becomes the struggle. To an extent, digital currency has made an open door, while crypto currencies gave to all who can make judicious use of it to make wealth.

I do remember about some guy back then, who sold everything he had to purchased Bitcoins at its lows below $10k, and now, if he still acquired more, he will be counted as rich.

maybe because the political party being elected is still the wrong ones

we also need to reevaluate how we vote and check the kind of politicians we put in power and keep them accountable always do not idolize them as they are supposed to do their jobs

the world will always have the rich and the poor and you just need to find ways to be part of the rich group

Nope. Just whoever sits on top are just there to make money for themselves as well. We are all just trying to consume the resources of the country including the taxes of the people but the rich people are on VIP seats while we the poor are from a mile away from the main event.

Yes that's how Capitalism works and we are no part of the billionaires club that's been milking the country.

It is because the rich people invest more while those below spend more than their needs and based on my observation this is clearly what is happening anywhere in the world wealthy people knows things poor people don't. Rich people make friends with politicians and other people with positive outcome. Poor people keeps on complaining and dependent on government aid.

The reason this is happening like this is because the rich have access to a lot of resources that can put them in a position to readjust any time they experience a harsh economic shift. Poor people do not have these resources and privileges, so they are always at the receiving end of any new economic situation that is difficult.

You need money to find money, and most rich people have this money or have a means to get this money required to make more money.

If we're talking about politicians suddenly getting rich when they got the position, well, they didn't get that by operating alone. They might appear helpful to the needy but most of them are giving just a fraction of the funds they're receiving from the yearly budget. Politics is a dirty game that the only handful that tries to serve honestly are easily persecuted/eliminated.

Yes, the world works like that way from the start of the economic evolution. The rich will continue to get richer and the poor will continue to get poorer.

The money comes when someone changes their mindset and poor people have limited mindset and they don't do the type of work that can bring wealth and prosperity.

I have seen a quite handful of poor individuals who have a a big and positive mindset but still continues to get poor, some even work tirelessly but still nothing to show for it. I just think that , no matter how the mindset of people are or even how hardworking they are, there will always be the classes of the rich and poor individuals

Well, rich people has a lot of resources to get in fast in an opportunity wherein poor people don't. I personally belong to the lower class of the society as well and I can feel what other felt having nothing. Some also are afraid of taking the risk.

It feels like the rich always come out on top no matter who runs the government. Every election, we hear promises about helping regular people, but things rarely improve. The cost of living keeps going up, wages stay low, and debt keeps piling up. Capitalism rewards those who already have money, making it easier for the rich to get richer while the rest struggle. On top of that, the wealthy often have more power to influence laws and protect their interests. While the system could be fixed, it’s hard because the people in charge benefit from keeping things the way they are.

The rich already has investments are companies in okace which generates income for them. They are rich and they have rich friends in the government who uses them for money laundering and fight for the interest of the rich. A poor man does not have a job to put food on his table, if he does not fight out of poverty, he becomes poorer because the government does not care about them.

Political leaders will be in favour if rich while making policies because they get benefits in return as well as they pay more money in tax or contributing to the economy's growth so they can't hurt the rich or their economy itself will collpase. But they can ease out the tax burden on average person by reducing the indirect taxes, or offering things in return as people seek.

I could be wrong but I don't think it's that deep — it's an old saying and also my experience that money makes more money; so if you are already rich, it makes it much easier to keep printing more money irrespective of other circumstances.

I would just want to conclude that, it is the way the world works now and the earlier we accept it, the better we don’t keep fighting over what we cannot control. The rich has designed the system in such a way that it will become a generational system of politics or government. When the father is old enough that they can’t rule again, they bring in their close friends or families and put them into these positions, that makes them to be called mentor as the one that build them to get into such positions. If that is done, they become loyal to them and still continue to thrive on the same path as the past government. With this happening, we can now say that the system is designed to continue making the rich richer and the poor more poorer.

But somehow no matter which political party is in charge, the wealth gap just keeps growing massively.

Because you're just listening to people complaining and missing out real-world facts
https://ourworldindata.org/economic-inequality

We are going through the lowest inequality and income gap in human history ever!
But no, let's ignore facts, let's just complain!

Very correct, average people always know how to spend more and invest less which always makes them average.
They don't do things for future use, they spend and hope on the government for better life or help them to grow, they don't want to grow by themselves, they always want other people to push them true life or how they will manage their lifestyle, this attitude is what they should try and adjust for their own betterment.

True, rich people think ahead, invest their money, and make smart moves. Most average people just spend on things they don’t really need and hope someone will help them. They don’t try to grow on their own. If more people learned to save, invest, and think about their future, life could slowly get better. It’s not easy, but small changes can make a big difference over time.

I mean, let's say the government works together with a select group of people to amass wealth. As evil as they are, they won't cripple the nation because it would just affect them negatively. They'll let people taste opportunity here and there, which is where you should focus on to increase your wealth. It's not like they can just take away your money or force you to trash your crypto, for example, unless you're living in a hellhole to begin with. There's only so much they can do to help you out of poverty, you need to do the rest yourself. CMIIW.
