I found some posts in which some words or sentences were automatically changed to the following: 'Word blocked to prevent spam'.

One of the blocked Indonesian words is 'temu,' which translates to 'meet' in English.

The forum has many local boards in different languages. I don't know what word criteria are considered spam and what language standards are used (my assumption is English).
Suppose the word considered spam in the forum reference (English) language is also applied to other languages. It can be confusing because the word can be blocked, and the example above is not spam. It can be seen in the preview example above, where "meet" is not blocked.
I hope there is a solution to this problem.

Just checking 'Word blocked to prevent spam'
Yeah, I just now tried to post that word and this is what it looks like after I click posted, maybe the local boards should be whitelisted from this if it's actually a system in operation to prevent the spam
@admin, or anyone who got the authority should also include the word 'Bitget' into the list of spam words too.
-
In your specific case I think this word in Indonesian is the same of a big website that sells everything, it's a big one, you can research and see
It wouldn't be anything with the word meet, in which case it's a coincidence

As you can see, the word examples are automatically blocked. I don't know of any other list of words.
Meanwhile, when I wrote the word 'temu' as listed in the OP, I added a little code in the middle of the word so that it could still be displayed in the post. If it were written normally, it would be automatically blocked.
'temu,'

Therefore, it would be unfair if the word spam were used, for example, in English but also applied to other languages. It can cause many words or sentences in Indonesian or maybe other languages that have similar words cannot be read properly.
As is known, some words in different languages can have different meanings.

Do you (or anyone) know if it's possible to block certain words from only certain boards?
As far as I know this restriction works on the whole forum, but maybe there is a possibility to restrict it only on one board
It must be a difficult job to analyze words that may or may not be restricted in certain languages

I don't know the settings used on the Altcoinstalks forum to filter the list of words considered spam.
If you refer to the example in the following link:
'Custom fields and filters of post (https://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=518886.0)', in the Advanced settings section, in the Boards column, you can determine which board will apply the filter.
Note: Although both forums are based on SMF, the settings examples in the link above may differ.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
-
I may be wrong, but could the word “lol” refer to the popular online marketplace?. I say this because, as far as I know, there are no blocked or censored words on the Spanish forum, although it's also true that the Spanish forum has barely any traffic or activity compared to the Indonesian forum. Therefore, that word may not appear to prevent spam.
I just checked, that word is blocked, probably because of the store it refers to.
-
@admin, or anyone who got the authority should also include the word 'Bitget' into the list of spam words too.
Although it can be bypassed using expressions like BG bit get, it is a nice suggestion, I hope it is implemented.

Can more words be added or is this an old feature?

I would speculate you can add more word, since this forum use " SMF © 2017-2018" while name of blocked store founded in 2022.
-
i can block any word, let me or president know what words need blocking and why
if spam , please provide examples

Although I suspected such a list existed, I have never seen it, as it must be solely in the hands of the administrator. We should ask the administrator if he would accept suggestions for adding content to that list. I agree that some words (brands) should be blocked, but that could also be counterproductive to the forum. Therefore, the pros and cons of this situation must be considered.
Edit: I didn't see the admin's post since he posted it while I was writing mine. So now we have an answer.

Usually we stick to non-crypto words (as obvious spam) rather than crypto projects, or so I thought.
I don't think we should block BG or other platforms, as there are regular members who genuinely discuss the exchange. For that we just need shills reported to D team section in order to get rid of spam.

When that word causes far more problems than benefits then an exception should be made - besides, shills don't do what they do on their own - the same company financially encourages them to create a bunch of spam on this and all other forums.
I dare say that the reports of a few members (including me) are something that doesn't have much influence on those who deal with such things - while one account is permanently banned, they create at least five new ones.

Start from the last message backwards and you will see that 99% of all shills are connected exclusively with one word.

Isn't Teamu a popular marketplace like Amazon and Alibaba? I wonder why would the word be blocked! Is it because of the bad review regarding this site? What I have seen or heard is that, this place is filled with fake stuff.

Please ban the words related to "BG" exchange, if possible! I don't think I need to give any explanation on this subject as Lucius already did.
-
can you please give me links to BG spam ?

I bet it's due to people spamming their referral link or code. I'm not familiar with it, but newer services usually give generous reward to attract new customer.
can you please give me links to BG spam ?
I don't know what you count as spam. But if you perform search on "Incentivised Posting / Shill" with keyword "bitget", there are 127 result. Besides that, here are few example that i consider as BG spam/shilling.

Reason: the thread title is about USDT staking/yield, but only mention BG as example.

Reason: the thread title is about birthday gift. But while it mention few exchange, it only include screenshot of BG promotion.

There have been excessive amount of shilling from this particular exchange all alone. Among all the users I have reported so far, 99% are involved with this exchange's shillings. I understand all services does something similar. But for BG they are on another level of marketing.

I had previously reported this guy, and he was awarded with a "Misbehaving" and "Shiller" tag!

This is a common tactics by them. They would simply post the screenshots and add a couple of texts. Not only that sometimes they would intentionally divide the words. For example "ad min" as in "admin".

Moved both topics to Incentivised Posting section. admin can see them there as well, but right you are, these topics look like which fit to the Incentivised Posting section. ???

ok guys bring all the shit about bitget : post them as replies to this thread: https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?topic=329791

Blocking some words sounds new to me or maybe it has been a long time since I read about it. I think it's justified but I still find it funny how an online platform selling items that's full of negative reviews actually forced the forum admin to take such measure.

I mean, I suspect if your website is full of links from a popular shady marketplace, there's a possibility it drags your website down in the SEO rank or something. It's clearly in everyone's best interest to ensure the forum doesn't have a terrible image because traffic is important. Knowing the list of blocked words is a good thing IMO, so that we don't have to clarify if someone sees our post get customized with randomized text, even if we don't have any intention to promote such marketplaces. CMIIW.

On related note, today i encountered user who shill exchanged called "bingx" using similar method with "bitget" shill. I just perform search on "Incentivised Posting / Shill" with keyword "bingx" with 76 result. Maybe it's time to take action against those shill as well. Here few recent shill example i found.
Link: https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?topic=329888.0 (https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?topic=329888.0)
Reason: Thread is about exchange lifespan. While it mentioned few exchange, it also talks about bingx 7th year event.
Link: https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?topic=329539.0 (https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?topic=329539.0)
Reason: Thread title is about lack of innovation on exchange. But the thread itself talk about his experience with bingx while also mentioning it's on 7th year.

Both warned for first offenses, but you're not wrong. It might seem odd as there are only two posts, one shilling the exchange, and the other unrelated. But we've had users shilling this exchange for months as well, it's the second worst project shilling at present, so I know where these users will end up eventually. Naturally if I'm wrong the user won't be mentioning the exchange half the time in every post, the warning wil expire, etc. +1, I suspect at this point you have necessary requirements for D team btw, based on a combo of reporting posts and users, maybe VP can clarify.

If ABCbits decides to join the Decentralized Team (https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?topic=192825.0), I can only support it.
